Canto Court is such a welcoming place
Based in East London and with plenty of access to all forms of public transport, it’s easy to see why Canto Court has landed second place on our list. It features a closed-off courtyard that leads through to a large common room and tv room complete with a number of game consoles. Helping residents stay active with an onsite gym, Canto Court is perfect for anyone studying at a university in London.
St Mungo's, Student Roost
Living at St Mungo's is an amazing experience! Totally recommended!

John Burnet Hall, University of St Andrews
Extremely friendly staff, great location and wonderful community.
Although smaller than other accommodations offered to St Andrews students, the sense of community is a strong bond created by residents. With increasing popularity, John Burnet Hall offers students an amazing communal area alongside a year-long calendar of social events. Providing residents with healthy catered meals three times a day, St Andrew’s students are provided with accommodation which lives with them.
Falkner Eggington, Loughborough University
Literally the most amazing experience ever. Not a hall, it’s a way of life.
The first Loughborough University accommodation on our list, Falkner Eggington has built a strong and proud sense of current and past residents who are proud to represent their accommodation. Offering accommodation for undergraduates and postgraduates, residents are provided with large kitchen areas, two on-site communal areas and room cleaning services. Falkner Eggington is Loughborough’s largest self-catered hall on campus and is proud to offer accommodations suitable for all.
Canvas The Old Fire Station, Canvas Student
The location and great staff make it an enjoyable place to stay.
It’s easy to see why The Old Fire Station has a place on our list. Students are instantly welcome and settle into the accommodation quickly with many choosing to stay throughout their studies. Based in a historic building which is full of character, they provide facilities including 24/7 staff, a social room, spacious rooms and a fantastic location next to Aston University. This is not your usual student accommodation with its quirky features, large rooms and individual personality.
Harry French, Loughborough University
Harry French provides the number one community in any hall in Loughborough.
Harry French at Loughborough University is an ideal location for students wanting to be part of a friendly, close-knit community whilst being in close proximity to both town and campus. Very good accommodation, staff are lovely and very helpful.

Grizedale College, Lancaster University
Probably the main reason I enjoy university due to the amazing quality of the Grizedale townhouses and the social areas and events
In the heart of the Lancaster University campus, Grizedale College is close to local shops, catering outlets and the management school. With modern social spaces including a bar and patio, quiet working areas and off-campus brew room help residents feel at home.
Buchanan View, Student Roost
Good for the money, friendly staff, good security. Great location.
Buchanan View is perfect for both Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Strathclyde students can enjoy living in a fun and social community. Full of fun flare and friendship.
Telford at Loughborough University is in the centre of the Student Village, situated just 2 minutes away from the library and on-campus shops. Telford is a great self-catered hall with easy access to on-site facilities including two games rooms and bedroom cleaning, offering students great value for money accommodation.
Clifton Hill House, University of Bristol
Best hall in Clifton and the only one with a reception and squash courts.
Clifton Hill House is a popular and picturesque student accommodation based on Bristol University campus. Near to both a busy shopping area and nightlife, students will never be short of something to do during their stay. Hazlerigg - Rutland, Loughborough University
Great hall with a great family community. Everyone knows everyone and has a lot of fun.
Placed in the heart of Loughborough University, Hazlerigg-Rutland offers Loughborough University students a large communal kitchen, a shared common room and cleaning services. Located within walking distance to any location on-site and benefitting from a shuttle bus stopping outside the accommodation, students also have easy access to the town centre.
The Quads, University of Bath
The Quads is one of the most modern and clean halls on campus.
Consisting of five buildings which contain shared flats for eight to ten people, The Quads is the perfect place for students in Bath, and regularly ranks well in student reviews. The accommodation offers students Eat and Drink credit to spend in any University-run places to eat. Close to the library and the Students’ Union, this sociable accommodation offers en-suite rooms and communal social spaces for students of the University of Bath.
Langwith College, University of York
Langwith is friendly with amazing services and accommodation. So glad I came here!
Langwith College provides the University of York a choice of self-catered flats and houses. With a large common room and modern bedrooms, the accommodation is within walking distance of the Market Square, Ron Cooke Hub and Library. With peer support and social activities, students can easily make friends.
William Morris, Loughborough University
I can't recommend this hall enough, it's like a family.
Located across the road to the Students’ Union only 200 metres from campus, William Morris is perfect for those who want to be close to the action. Also known as ‘Bill Mo’, this self-catered hall for undergraduates features two common rooms with Freeview TV, a pool table, table tennis and more.
Cripps Hall, University of Nottingham
Cripps is by far the best hall, biggest rooms and best location!!
Located next to the main lecture halls, Cripps Hall is perfect for those who are looking for a place located on the campus of the University of Nottingham. With large rooms and catering facilities, students are encouraged to make friends and spend time with other residents within the dining hall and social areas.
Chancellors Court, Edge Hill University
Such lovely surroundings and great distance from everywhere!
Chancellors Court and Chancellors South consist of 19 halls of residence situated in a picturesque location around one of the lakes on the Eastern side of the campus. Each flat is shared by six or eight students and has a large kitchen/dining space which includes a large flatscreen TV as standard, and plenty of space to socialise with friends. With 753 study bedrooms in total, this ensuite self-catered accommodation is extremely popular with students, excellent value for money and provides a top class living experience.
Furness College, Lancaster University
Great location, quiet college, perfect for people who are there to study.
Furness College is a friendly place with an active social, sporting and cultural life and a strong sense of community is formed with residents. With always somebody about for a chat, a coffee or a game of pool. Offering events throughout the evening and the day, students stay at Furness College for the social scene.
Nunnery Court, University of Derby
Loved it so much. Couldn't have asked for a better student vibe.
Recently refurbished, Nunnery Court is in an ideal location, conveniently close to several University sites as well as being just a short walk from the city centre. The hall has all the essential facilities, as well as a large social area containing a PS4, large TV and pool table which is free to use – a great place to chill and make new friends!
Turing College, University of Kent
Such a nice accommodation and so close to everything on campus.
Turing College has stunning views over Canterbury and the surrounding area. All rooms in each of the flats have en-suite accommodation. The College is conveniently located a short distance from a range of facilities including the Gulbenkian Arts Centre, the Sports Centre, the Medical Centre and a wide selection of places to eat, drink and shop.
New Park, Downing Students
The best student accommodation in Edinburgh. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, stylish rooms and a great common area.
One of the newest student accommodations in Edinburgh, New Park offers 238 rooms with a combination of shared flats and studio apartments. With study rooms onsite, excellent communal spaces which include a game area and cinema room. With regular social events taking place help students feel part of a great community.
Europa, Fresh
Great place to live very friendly staff great location would highly recommend.
Europa offers stylish en-suite accommodation. Each shared apartment contains a TV, a large study area and lots of storage. A large and light social space features a pool and ping-pong tables and there’s also a large courtyard for those sunny days. Perfect for students studying in Liverpool.
Faraday, Loughborough University
Unreal experience, great location! Rooms are good, food is good!
Faraday lies in the village area of Loughborough University campus offering residents easy access to on-site facilities and within close proximity of the town centre. Gowar, Royal Holloway, University of London
I absolutely loved my room in Gowar, it was so spacious and it was like my safe haven.
Gowar and Wedderburn halls are close to the sports centre, gym and playing fields which means it is one of the most sociable halls at Royal Holloway, University of London. With modern ensuite bedrooms and shared kitchens, residents are encouraged to meet their roommates. Located within walking distance from the centre of campus and the library, students living in these halls are in the social heart of everything.
Rutherford, Loughborough University
Really close knit community, very friendly and warm atmosphere.
Located in the heart of the University, Rutherford is part of the village community. This catered accommodation offers a large common/games room with plenty of activities from table football to darts and Freeview TV. Residents in Rutherford are proud of their community spirit and encourages students to take the time and meet each other.
Towers, Loughborough University
Good luck finding a hall with better spirit than this! You move in with strangers but it's safe to say they will be your lifelong friends.
Towers offer the best views of Loughborough University campus and some of the best social experiences for Loughborough students. With 310 redesigned bedrooms for Undergraduate and Art and Design Foundation students, Towers offers catered accommodation with great facilities including a common room with Freeview and 40” HD TV.
St Davids, Student Roost

No other halls in Reading has the social energy that Wessex does, the friends you make in halls will be your friends for life.
Wessex Hall is set in attractive parkland and conveniently located a few minutes’ walk from the heart of Whiteknights campus. Whilst being self-catered it offers a social aspect of living. With the rooms recently renovated the accommodation offers a modern bar, a pool table and a 25-seat cinema.
Andrew Melville Hall, University of St Andrews
Loved every minute of living in Melville. The community atmosphere is fantastic for 1st year.
Perfect for Sciences students studying at the University of St Andrews, Andrew Melville Hall is easily recognised for its ship-like appearance. Located within a 15 minutes walk from the centre of town and the Sports Centre, it’s the place to live when you want to be at the heart of the action.
Surrey Court, University of Surrey
Fantastic experience, location could not be better and the rooms are lovely and spacious!
Combined of four to five-storey houses with a kitchen on every floor. Each floor shares three toilets and three showers. The large kitchen provides space to prepare meals and socialising. With up to 14 people in each flat, it's easy to make friends and enjoy each others company.
Woodland Court, University of Bath
A lovely place to live, in a great location and with a nice outside area.
Offering first-year students spacious accommodation to begin their university journey, Woodland Court is one of the best student accommodations for University of Bath students. With an onsite laundrette and recently refurbished kitchens creating a community feel, there are plenty of chances to socialise with other residents.
Royce, Loughborough University
An incredible hall, an incredible committee and overall amazing experience.
Royce offers Loughborough University students excellent catered accommodation. Located in the Student Village in close proximity to lecture theatres and within walking distance of the Students’ Union. Supporting and encouraging students to become a community, residents start off strangers and leave as family.
South Towers - Eddington, University of Essex
The most sociable place to live! You will meet so many people and it really will make your year.
Offering a skyline view for residents, The Towers is one of the best accommodations for University of Essex students. One of the cheapest accommodations, they don’t compromise on style and quality. Just a two-minute walk to the centre of campus and located near Essex Business School and the Sports Centre means that residents are never too far away from the action.
Fylde College, Lancaster University
It’s a really nice location with no real problems at all, the JCR are really nice people and help you out when you need.
Fylde College offers two types of accommodation for students at Lancaster University. With a superior en suite or standard ensuite, students will be at the heart of the campus. A short walk to the library and shops, Fylde College encourages students to explore their surrounding areas and forge a community.
Wickham Hall, Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU)
Absolutely beautiful place to live, plenty of room and really clean.
One of the newest accommodations on Bishops Grosseteste University, Wickham Hall features contemporary en-suite cluster flats. With basic facilities in each flat including chairs, sofas and a TV, students have the perfect opportunity to turn flatmates into a family.
Fferm Penglais, Aberystwyth University
Penglais Fferm has amazing facilities, spacious rooms and is in a prime location for the university.

County townhouse was the best accommodation I could have picked. Amazing for meeting new people and making friends.
Offering a wide range of social activities enables residents to make best friends with each other. There is a wide range of accommodation available including newly built, eco-friendly townhouses. Close to a social room full activities including pool tables and coffee bar helps residents live in a friendly and social environment.
Norwood House, University of Bath
Norwood House is one of the best Halls on campus situated in the heart of all the action.
Norwood House sits above the Students’ Union, with its coffee shop, fast food, shopping and nightlife, making it a vibrant place to live in the heart of campus with easy access to all amenities. With communal toilets and bathrooms, as well as shared living areas, it’s easy to meet your new flatmates and quickly become firm friends.
Nelson Court, University of East Anglia
Best place to live and study, quiet, but dynamic. Location is excellent.
With a large kitchen/dining area, it’s easy to entertain friends and flatmates within your flat. Residents become instant members of the Nelson Court family with plenty of social activities happening throughout the accommodation. Offering you en-suite facilities and a large bedroom, Nelson Court students wish they could stay throughout their studies.
Queen's Road Student Village, University of Winchester
Fantastic community base, lovely rooms, good kitchen area and social space, really nice rooms!
Opening in 2010, Queen’s Road Student Village consists of 399 en-suite rooms. Residents have access to the laundrette and other facilities including the University gym. With a cleaning service, students also don’t need to worry about upkeep their flat. A great place to bring friends along and make friends with others.
Birley - Dale Townhouse, Manchester Metropolitan University
Stayed here in my first year of university, met some of my best friends through living in these halls.

Cosy, comfortable and contemporary, Birley is perfect for Manchester Metropolitan University students looking for a central location. St Christopher's Court, University of Derby
Really lovely halls staff so so welcoming and easy to speak to.
St Christopher’s Court offers bright, fresh, newly refurbished accommodation within proximity of our Britannia Mill and Markeaton Street sites. With a frequent and free Unibus service on the doorstep, residents can easily travel to Derby city centre or the main University site at Kedleston Road.
