Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
so convenient. lovely place to stay. very clean and modern!
Good accommodation and facilities but thin walls
Clean, big kitchens, big corridor, good space
Absolutely amazing here at chancellors court!! En suite is defiantly work it and value for money
Amazing Halls, amplyifing the university experience
The space you get is unbelievable, you get a cleaner every morning to clean your kitchen. Where I am you have a corner sofa and a TV on the wall. Locked cupboard space which is really good but you also get extra cupboards to put dishes and plates etc. The Rooms are a good size and ensuite bathroom and this halls saves so much electricity. Induction pans, automatic lights when you walk through and you get like a pay metre to show you how much you are using electricty.
Such lovely surroundings and great distance from everywhere!
Great value for money, close to everything you need & perfect for people who enjoy the social side of uni :-)
halls where find, people where not.
Very modern, Cozy and comfortable settled in quickly,.Plenty of storage space. The TV/Computer is useful when assignments start coming in. The mini fridge is fantastic! View from room is lovely. Spacious and well maintained social space.
Chancellors South is the best by far, huge kitchens, 7 other flat mates we love our accomodation! No colour scheme in the bedroom so it's a blank canvas free to decorate how you like. The ensuing is also a brilliant bonus! Very modern and warm.
No common room for the building however kitchens are big enough so gathering there works
Brilliant value for money, no problems what-so-ever with anything except the wifi sometimes plays up
Beautiful rooms and en suite, cleaners are lovely and close to classes. However chancellors south should be made to pay more as they have better social spaces than we do
Brilliant environment, the WiFi can sometimes be slow and isnt very good in the kitchen but otherwise is a great place to live for the first year of university. Can get very warm, but this can be sorted by buying a fan.
Feels very homely, lovely place.
Modern . Very clean and comfortable. Spacious rooms and generously proportioned social spaces. Fantastic location with great views across campus from every window.
basically you get an en suit, mini fridge, TV and computer in your room which you are unlikely to get at other university's, even if you do t will be far more expensive than the rooms at edge hill. The accommodation at edge hill is far cheaper than any other university. You would be located by a beach and lake with plenty of places to sit during the summer.
Your halls experience all depends on who you live with and unfortunately, I didn't get on well with my flatmates.
absolutely fantastic! I don't ever want to move out!
