Thank you for you review, we really appreciate your feedback! So glad you were pleased with your experience with out staff and resources! Best wishes, Phoebe
Very unprofessional and rude behaviour by staff members and Wi-Fi is pathetic.
Really good university! Very helpful
Nothing going on at SU but staff are so helpful and lots of learning going on
Hi, thanks for leaving your review. I’m really pleased to hear you’ve found our staff to be helpful and you’re enjoying the learning environment. I’m sorry you've found there hasn’t been much going on at our Students’ Union. The Students’ Union aims to help students develop their skills and meet friends, as well as providing useful, independent advice. Some of the ways they achieve this is through acting as a base for over 100 student-run societies, providing a wide range of volunteering opportunities, work experience and social events and offering a free, confidential service for advice on anything from finances to health and wellbeing. You can find out more about extracurricular activities you can get involved in on the Students’ Union Student Opportunities page on their website. The Students’ Union team would also really appreciate you sharing your experience and feedback through their Union Voice page, where you’ll find the link to their feedback form. I hope you find this information useful. Best wishes, Emily
Good faculty and good teaching methodology
Sheffield Hallam University isn't bad at all. Could be better though.
Everything is nice. Love all the staff!
Firstly, Sheffield is a student friendly city! Studying at Sheffield Hallam University is a great experience. A very good infrastructure and teaching staff are some of the most basic positives. Added to that external services like Hallam help, Student union, career centre makes life more easier. Highly recommended.
The handling of COVID has been particularly poor. So many strikes I can't count and now I am graduating at a swimming pool. Really wish I had gone elsewhere.
Amazing uni loved my time here with the help from teachers

the teaching quality is the main thing with this university. truly amazing teaching and most of the teachers actually care about you as an individual student; if you're having any issues you can always speak to them.

BA Hons Sociology Undergraduate. Pros: - + Teaching staff are excellent and bend over backwards to help with coursework, put on extra sessions, signpost you to help, help you evaluate ideas. Can't praise them enough. + Student Support Advisors will help you with any pastoral support and referring for extra support etc. Again can't praise my SSAs enough. + Liz from Inclusive support runs excellent allotment sessions Fridays, perfect to destress. + 24 hour library opening and a beautiful campus at Collegiate. + Security staff in libraries are always friendly, polite and will always do their best to help. Cons: - - Students union is toxic, has no bar / cafe facilities just an empty space and offices for staff & SU Officers. - Lack of academic society or any extra curricular activities at Collegiate campus. - Lack of any students union activities which appeal to mature students. - Younger students on the course respond aggressively and negatively to mature students on course

I hope this information helps and that you take the time to share your feedback with our teams. Best wishes, Luke
Honestly? As a creative (games) arts student, I feel like my want to go into the industry has been utterly destroyed by the way the Uni and the staff (mainly those at the top of the course) chose to run my experience. There is clear favouritism with 3D being encouraged rather than 3D and whether you're a character artist or prop/environment artist, you will get more help being in the latter. My experience has been poor and my teacher for character art was one of the only few exceptions of this shoddy course. Go somewhere else if you want to be a character artist!
Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm so sorry to hear that your time with us has been anything less than great. Please rest assured that I will be sharing your feedback with the Recruitment Lead for your subject area. I encourage you to contact our Student Services team at hallamhelp@shu.ac.uk to provide additional feedback to our teams regarding your experience, in addition to helping us to identify how best we can support you and similar students moving forward. Please remember that we offer a wide range of help and support, from careers and employability to wellbeing, student support to library services and much more from our experienced teams - for more information, please visit our 'Support at Hallam' webpages on MyHallam. You can find our Development Opportunities page on the MyHallam student intranet, where you can navigate to a range of resources and exciting opportunities you can be part of, from applying to become a student rep, to learning how you can get involved with extracurricular activities, like The Global Citizenship Portfolio. It’s a good uni and the lecturers work so hard but the management is not that good. Students union is like a graveyard for past enjoyment. Library facilities are great and open 24/7 even Xmas day. Enjoyed my time here but it has been hindered by the pandemic
Hi, thank you for leaving your review. I'm pleased you've had a positive experience with your lecturers and our library facilities. Our academic staff work hard to ensure they're providing the highest quality learning experience and they're experts in their field. I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had a good experience with the Students' Union. The team are passionate about ensuring students get the most out of the range of services they offer and would really welcome your feedback so they can act on any areas you feel could be improved. The Sheffield Hallam Students' Union website features the Union Voice page, which has a link to the feedback form. I understand the various difficulties students have faced due to the pandemic. We aimed to ensure students could access as many resources and tools as possible when studying remotely through lockdowns and restrictions. However, I appreciate the university experience will have been impacted due to Covid. If you'd like any support regarding your studies and life as a student, you can access support from our range of services on the Support at Hallam page through signing in to your MyHallam account. You'll find support for library services, student funding, careers, wellbeing and advice from our experienced student support advisors. Best wishes, Emily
Very supportive advisors and fantastic library, with various areas for different types of study (e.g collaborative, quiet, silent).
all pretty great, everything you'd really expect from a uni, nothing to complain about
Thank you for you review, we really appreciate your feedback! Best wishes, Phoebe
Great, well recommended and fully welcomed by staff. Couldn't ask for more alongside the great courses on offer.

I love Hallam, especially with all the friendly people and lovely lecturers! The facilities just make me feel like I am home even though I am halfway across from the earth!❤️
Hi, thanks for your review. I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed your experience at Sheffield Hallam! Best wishes, Phoebe

Amazing have always felt welcomed and included
Hi, thanks for your review. I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed your experience at Sheffield Hallam! Best wishes, Phoebe
I worked in the Cantor building, which is decent but a bit disappointing mainly due to my course. The rooms were uninspiring considering its an art course (Game Art). Compared to other Hallam buildings I've visited, this could be greatly improved I think. I also never figured out how to get the wifi to work either and data was pretty bad there, but oh well.
Eeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmm shocking
Love the uni. WiFi is library often cuts out
The university is very clean and has several clubs and societies helping you engage in uni life.
I have enjoyed my time in hallam, I have little to do with societies and the union. But the staff are helpful and facilities are good
Brilliant infrastructure and decent faculties. Great location as well
Amazing supportive staff and a community feel around both campuses
Nice university loved it and I enjoy the events
One of the best universities highly focused on student development and growth with good resources and support.
Great university and lovely people - i would definitely recommend to anyone considering going to university and could not praise the teachers and lecturers more they are all so lovely
They have been helpful with the support they have given, there have also been lots of well run clubs and activities to get involved in. It is also in the center of Sheffield, aka a great location.
Enjoy my University alot . Especially the little society events
Except International experience team every department is good .
Pretty good uni, never used or been to student union so cant really review it.
Sheffield hallam has facilitated my master degree to a great standard and has supported me throughout my degree
I want lab sessions recorded ..coz assignments are always on the lab sessions and sometimes people can't clear out all the things in lab ..so if u record that one it will help us to watch it again and again and understand it very well
Again really good, easy to join clubs and societies and everyone is welcome and friendly !!
It’s got good courses and great staff
Hi, thanks for your review. I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed your experience at Sheffield Hallam! Best wishes, Phoebe
Sheffield Hallam University is a cool university ever in my life with a full of diversity atmosphere that you could not find in any other place.
Hi, thanks for your review. I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed your experience at Sheffield Hallam! Best wishes, Phoebe
Really good uni, facilities are well maintained, the library is good.
Good communal social areas where you can study, have a break or chat with your friends.
Thank you for you review, we really appreciate your feedback! Best wishes, Phoebe
Career support services should help us a lot including part time professional jobs.
Hi, Thank you for your review. There are plenty of career opportunities advertised around the campus. We’re committed to ensuring our students are ready for the world of work after completing their course. You can find out more on our Careers & Employability page through the MyHallam student intranet. Please feedback to our careers service with any feedback that we can then take on board. Best wishes, Phoebe
Overall experience has been good, there are lots of resources available for you to use and tutors put in effort to help you. Although not much going on at student union.
Hi, thanks for your feedback. I'm pleased to hear your overall experience has been good and you've found that there are lots of resources available for you to use. Our tutors are specialists in their field and are passionate about providing support and guidance to allow you to reach your full potential and I'm pleased you've found this to be the case. During the pandemic, the Sheffield Hallam Students' Union has aimed to provide support, services and facilities virtually for students where possible. Due to the challenges surrounding social activities throughout the Pandemic, the Students' Union needed to limit the number of activities they provided in order to comly with government guidelines and prioritise students and staff safety. However, the Students' Union have resumed their offer of a range of exciting events and activities you can take part in, as well as acting as a base for over 100 student-run Societies. You can head to the Sheffield Hallam Students' Union website to see the latest events, as well as the support services they provide. The Students' Union team are keen to hear your feedback and you can share your experience of their services with them through the feedback form available on their website. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Emily
Great uni lots of clubs and activities and a great nightlife
Hi, there - thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're delighted to hear that you're enjoying life at Hallam and making the most of the wide range of opportunities and places to explore in our great city. Should you ever want to switch things up and escape the hustle and bustle of the inner city, why not explore all that 'The Outdoor City' has to offer. Known as the spiritual home of climbing, infamous road cycling, downhill mountain biking and being on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park - there's something for everyone to discover - from peaceful walks to adrenaline-fuelled adventure and everything in between. Don't forget to check out our 'Guide to Sheffield for Students' - you may discover something new. Best wishes, Luke
I’ve loved my time at Hallam so far! Their is always events going on and lots to do if you’re a student who likes to get themselves out there and involved. The nightlife is amazing and the uni itself is well organised. The tutors I’ve had are all amazing and do their very best to make sure you succeed, they’re very warm hearted and understandable. My only complaint is the fact I’ve had a full month online due to strikes, I’d much prefer to be in lesson although I do understand the reasoning behind them.
Hi, thanks so much for your feedback. It's lovely to hear that you've loved your time at Sheffield Hallam so far! The Sheffield Hallam Students' Union team provide a range of events and activities you can take part in, as well as being the base for over 100 student-run Societies and it sounds like you've got involved with some of these, which is great! You can head to the Sheffield Hallam Students' Union home page to see the latest events. One of the (many) things we love about our city is the variety of clubs, bars and pubs available. I agree that Sheffield's nightlife is amazing and it has something for all when planning a night out, not to mention an incredible live music scene. If you head over to our Guide to Sheffield for Students page, you might discover some more new places to visit in the city, including venues for nights out. I'm so pleased you're happy with your tutors and their dedication towards ensuring students succeed. Our academic staff are passionate about encouraging students to reach their full potential. I understand the difficulties and disruption to studies due to the recent strike action and I'm sorry to hear you needed to continue your learning online for a period, rather than in classes on campus. Our priority was to keep students informed on the available support and updated as much as possible throughout the strike. If you would like further support due to the disruptions, you can book an appointment with your Student Support Advisor through MyHallam on the Student Support Advisors page. Your advisor can help with a range of issues and can advise on other specialist services across the university that you may find useful. I hope this helps and thanks again for taking the time to leave your review. Best wishes, Emily
Good facilities and the wifi works most of the time
Hi, thanks for your review. I'm pleased to hear that you're happy with Sheffield Hallam's facilities and the wifi. We recognise the importance of our students being able to access our range of facilities on campus, but also when studying off-campus. The university itself id recommend, although there is room for improvement societies wise

SHU is a great university to study at and I'm really pleased I was granted an offer to study here.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave such a delightful review. We could not be happier to hear this - as you're no doubt aware, we are proud to offer great teaching in a great city with even greater outcomes - our ever-growing list of reasons to study with us which details our awards for teaching quality, making higher education more accessible and providing unparalleled entrepreneurial support barely scratches the surface on what it's like to be part of our diverse #TeamHallam community - this is precisely why we encourage as many people as possible to join one of our open days to discover what Hallam has to offer and to hear directly from our staff and students as they share their experience, just like you've kindly done. We hope you continue to have a great experience at Hallam - don't forget that we offer a wide range of support, in addition to your three dedicated advisors who are on hand to support you through to graduating and beyond. Best wishes, Luke ✨
City campus at Sheffield Hallam is really accessible and in such a good location, student support at the uni is good, career/volunteering/placement opportunities etc. are great!
Hi, thanks for taking the time to leave an informative and positive review. We are proud to sit right at the heart of the city (both physically and through our work), our unique positioning provides easy access to Sheffield residents and those who commute, whilst also providing access to a wide range of activities, opportunities and experiences (including the picturesque Peak District National Park which lies 20 minutes away). We are incredibly proud of our unique offer which includes a wide range of lifelong support and opportunities we offer in terms of careers, placements, volunteering and global opportunities - as such, we are delighted to hear that you're happy with the support on offer. Take care and best wishes, Luke ✨
All are very good, helpful lecturers and friendly study environment, I just wish the library can be more bigger and also to a better ratio of foreign ethnicity / nationality to encourage more diverse cultural exposure and learning.
Hi, thanks for leaving your review. It's lovely to hear that you've found our lecturers to be helpful and the study environment to be friendly here at Sheffield Hallam. Our lecturers strive to provide as much support as possible and want to see each student succeed. We're committed to providing equal opportunities for all students and staff from all backgrounds, ethnicities and nationalities and we're passionate about providing a learning environment that encourages everyone to collaborate and share their views and experiences, as a crucial factor in allowing our students and staff to realise their full potential. However, I completely agree that ensuring we excel at this aim requires continual work and development. Inclusion is one of our five Hallam Values, which you can read more about on Our Values page at shu.ac.uk/about-us/our-values. Our Diversity, Equality and Inclusion page at shu.ac.uk/about-us/our-values/equality-and-diversity also provides more detail on our proactive approach to ensuring inclusion for all. We were named University of the Year 2021 at the UK Social Mobility Awards in recognition of our work in advancing social mobility, such as improving access to higher education for all. You can read more about how we achieved this by clicking here. I'm sorry that you've found our library to be small. Both our libraries on City Campus and Collegiate Campus are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for maximum accessibility. You can find information on our library's range of resources and facilities, including booking and finding library spaces, on our page at libguides.shu.ac.uk/pages/24_hour_learning_spaces. You can also find guidance on making the most of our off-campus, online library services on this page libguides.shu.ac.uk/libraryoffcampus. Best wishes, Emily

Good service is served and efficiently work from admin
Hi, thank you for leaving your review. I'm really happy to hear that you're pleased with Sheffield Hallam's service and found our admin to be efficient. We really appreciate your feedback. Best wishes, Emily
The experience depends on if you go to city or collegiate campus, if you go to collegiate, it is quite different to city life
Hi, thanks for your review. As you mentioned, our City Campus is located slightly more centrally in the city than our Collegiate Campus. Whereas City Campus is within walking distance of Sheffield's city centre offerings, Collegiate Campus requires hopping on one of the regular buses for a ten minute ride into the city centre. Collegiate is also a short walk away from a fantastic range of independent shops, cafes and bars along Ecclesall Road. You can find out more about the different areas of Sheffield to explore on our Guide to Sheffield for Students page at shu.ac.uk/study-here/sheffield-guide. Happy browsing! Emily
Very good experience with university. Only one con with career connect handshake staff. Not so friendly and helpful staff.
Hi, thank you for leaving your review. I'm really pleased to hear that you've had a very good experience at Sheffield Hallam University. However, I'm sorry you've found our Careers Connect Handshake staff to be unhelpful. The new Handshake platform has been launched to help employers and our students connect and it assists with the search for graduate job vacancies, careers fairs and workshops. We'd be really grateful if you can raise any concerns or provide suggestions on how Handshake can be developed and improved by emailing our Careers team at careers@shu.ac.uk. We appreciate how valuable the feedback from our students and staff is, in order for us to continue progressing as a University and community, especially when building and improving a new tool like Handshake. You can find a wide range of useful information on careers and employability, including specialist support for graduates, on our webpage at shu.ac.uk/careers. On this page, there is also a link to our Placement Action Week activities, commencing until 11th February, where you can sign up for sessions led by employability advisors and employers who are providing advice and information for placement searches. I hope you find this information useful. Best wishes, Emily
Overall 5/10 wouldn’t really recommend this uni
Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you wouldn't recommend our university. We value our students thoughts and feedback and it would be really appreciated if you can email hallamhelp@shu.ac.uk with any feedback you have to help us continue to develop our services and support for our community of students and staff. You'll find a range of services to help with any questions or concerns you have on the MyHallam student intranet. You can access various support, such as careers services, student funding, library services and more on MyHallam. You can also book an appointment with our Student Support Advisers through MyHallam, who provide help and advice for managing academic studies alongside day-to-day life. Awful uni facilities but good societies and people
Thank you for leaving your review. I'm so sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with our university's facilities. While we've worked hard to ensure that our facilities have remained available to students and staff where possible, we recognise that many of the facilities we usually offer have been affected by adjustments we've needed to make to abide by government guidelines surrounding the Covid pandemic, ensuring the safety of our students and staff. The latest updates on the accessibility and availability of our facilities can be found through the student portal, MyHallam. We would love to hear any suggestions you have on ways of improving our facilities. If you'd like to share your ideas, you can do this by contacting the Hallam Help team at hallamhelp@shu.ac.uk. We're pleased that you're happy with Sheffield Hallam's societies and the people here. Sheffield Hallam Students' Union is home to a wide number of student-run societies for a diverse range of interests. You can see the Students' Union's latest news on their website by clicking here. Everything is really Good and pleasant am really enjoying my experience
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback - we really appreciate it! 🙌
Westbar House is a great accommodation. The rooms are designed we'll and is substantial for a living. The property manager Simon is so friendly and has a solution for everything. He take that extra edge to help and never said no for anything. He is a stress buster at the accommodation, without him my living at the accommodation wouldn't have been this easy. The accommodation is quite well maintained and has all the essential facilities. If I could continue to live in here, I would have. There is nothing to complain or point out. Everything here is made easy and trouble-free to live.
Good university , wifi is also good

Great facilities, the clubs, and societies have plenty of events going on and are open with their advertisements so there is a wealth of information as to what is going on. I haven't had much experience with the careers service yet but there has definitely been support available. Internet is fine, difficult to know which one to connect to though.
