It’s a good school which allows you to study your course in a good environment. Engineering courses are quite good as they are well equipped to carry out these courses.

From my experience it is a very inclusive place with lots of opportunities as we are always getting emails encouraging to go to career events etc

The university has plenty of access to pretty great facilities, the 24hr library being its best facility for me. Lectures / seminars are well spaced and your lecturers are good at informing you with any inquiries you have. Social life here is great to start with then proceeds to all become a bit boring, but still fun occasionally when with the right people.

I have absolutely loved my first year at Sheffield Hallam. I went into this with no idea what to expect and I can 100% say it has exceeded my expectations! The campus is beautiful, especially when it has snowed! There are a handful of staff which have definitely made the other whole process much much easier by offering invaluable advice and support. My course is great and I’m really enjoying it: being able to tailor my course to what I aspire to do in the future is ideal.

I like how close everything is, and how close things are to the centre

Good facilities in collaborative study on level 3 Adsetts library, but other pc’s are very slow.

Sheffield Hallam is a great university for people for learn practically, even though there are some exam elements depending on which course you do.

The university has great facilities, the staff are really helpful and it offers so many different courses. The two campuses are both close to all the accommodations.

There are lots of different courses to choose from that allow you to be able to choose the one best for you. The teaching staff on my course are lovely and are willing to help at all times
Sheffield Hallam is a brilliant university with brilliant lecturers aswell as brilliant places to work such as the library and all the different buildings. The Wi-Fi is really fast which allows students to work effectively and efficiently. The student union and all the societies they have to offer are brilliant for people who like to socialise.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year at university. I’ve developed many skills and I am a lot more comfortable being independent now. The lecturers are friendly and are always willing to help go over work in depth if I don’t understand something.

Internet works great in my room, however others may say different, common room is a great area to socialise and also study in a quite space in the study room!

The tuition fee is quite good, the buildings and activities are helpful for my study. However, some problems take a long time to solve and procedure is quite complex for students.

Sheffield Hallam definitely has some of the best learning standards, beautiful building, and students from different parts of the world that makes you feel at home with learning
Due to COVID, I could not maximise my experiences at the university for the last couple of years. However the student life is great as there is a good connection with University of Sheffield
Pretty decent. Very nice and clean facilities. Utilities like internet are pretty much non-existent however, which is especially bad when they are required for classes and your signal is too low to use phone data.

The courses offer great opportunity for students to explore their abilities in the form of placement. Placements need to be more organised so that students get them with plenty of time to plan rather than being given a week before.

Need to have more events throughout courses and open the bar as a way to get people to try and meet. The wifi does not work when logging.

As you mentioned, the Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union offers over 100 societies and a range of events and activities you can take part in. You can head to the Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union home page to see the latest events. We love that both our campuses are located so close to the city centre, and there are a great range of cafes, with student discounts, located within walking distance. When you’re finished studying for the day, there’s a huge variety of city centre places to visit, from bars and clubs to galleries and independent shops. Shu is a great uni with great facilities and a good gym. I have only ever been to collegiate campus so I can only speak from my experiences. But either way the experience I have had so far has been great

Good university. The campus is beautiful and has plenty of spaces for studying with friends in between of seminars/ lectures. The uni provides plenty of resources and access to almost any articles that may be needed for assignments.
