Sheffield Hallam University is a great university it is very diverse and dynamic there is never a dull moment. The staff are amazing and helpful and will always be there for you, there’s guidance when you leave and support throughout everything

Great uni, great experiences! City campus is starting to become a bit dated so needs work doing. Where’s the on campus Starbucks like every other uni has? Students Union is shocking compared to other universities, needs serious work

Would prefer if collegiate was connected to city campus

This university had great facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. After graduating at hallam and doing further study at a red brick university I have realised to appreciate the good quality services found at Hallam.

There are 2 campuses which can be a hassle. Also if you are unfamiliar with a building that you are in for a lesson it can be a pain to find where it is as the campus is lots of different buildings. This is due to the nameing and numbers used to lable rooms etc is not very easy to understand. Seems to be many of clubs and socitiew and the socities are always activly present in the city with nights out and fundraisers etc. Students Union is quite small and not commonly used by students. There is lots of room for improvement especially compared to many other student unions i have visited. Careers service offer lots of resource to aid placement getting, part time job getting and cv building. For my experience they have been great. Internet and wifi can sometimes be a hassle to connect to and you need help to connect the first time.

If you’re serious about university, dont go to this joke of a uni. Could easily teach yourself this s*** and the lecturers aren’t anything special so save yourself 9 grand a year

Great, cheap accomodation. Really good induction week with lots of activities to help students make friends. Overall the uni has a great community feel and is really welcoming and friendly. Sheffield is a lovely city too with great (cheap!!!) night life.

Love it here! Value for money and the facilities they provide make up for the hefty tuition fee (24 hr library and brilliant SU!)

Been a quality uni I'm loving the facilities. The library is particularly on point and I love the ability to take laptops home for people who don't have any

The campus has everything you need. The internet and wifi is always good, it's fast. Haven't used the student Union so I can't comment on that. Same for the clubs and societies.

Amazing experience from start to finish meeting new people and building new relationships. The staff and tutors are great special praise for the criminology and policing lectures.

I have spent 4 years at Sheffield Hallam University for my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and would recommend Hallam to anyone. Great facilities, interesting course structure and a strong sense of belonging and pride.

Sheffield Hallam don’t like to put their hands in their pockets; no do they like to give credits to students who actually work hard for the duration of their studies. If you want to have to take time off work/out of your further studies to have your graduation, it’s the perfect uni. With graduation in November because they don’t want to have to pay to rent out the city hall in summer. Then when you get to graduation they fail to give credit to the students who have the highest grade overall on their course (wasn’t me so I’m not being bias). It was good when I was there and it’s fair to say I had fun. But now I’ve moved on I can see the areas in which they fail to consider what students want over how much it will cost.
I'm sorry you've had this experience at Hallam, please can you elaborate on "nor do they like to give credits to students who actually work hard for the duration of their studies"? How would this look? I will give this feedback about failing to give credit to highest grade students at graduation to the alumni team so they can address this and make improvements for the future. I'll also let them know about the difficulties some people face with a graduation ceremony in November. I'm glad you had fun when you were here! Thanks, Bridget

Started a new course, to find the course tutor had lied about certain things so students would join. Which now means I will have to restart a new course next year. Awful uni.

Career service good as can talk to them about future job roles and they can help u with what is the best option Facilities are good e.g library & cafes on site campus Student union good has bar for drinks and food available and many other things which are helpful such as staff on reception for things like travel master monthly passes

Sheffield Hallam has everything you need. The annoying part is that they now have a no printing policy but otherwise it’s brilliant.

I was so anxious about coming to university but I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Even though I’ve only been here for two months I can whole heartedly say they have been two of the best months of my life and i expect it to continue. I am so glad that I chose to come to Hallam

Sheffield Hallam is an overall good university although it has a lot of room for improvement
Sheffield Hallam offers vibrant learning environment in one the UKs best city's for students. The courses are well run and there is lots to choose from + Louis Therouix got a doctorate from here. When you're not studying there is plenty to do for everyone, especially if you are outdoorsy lite myself.
Sheffield Hallam University has been a great experience for me, catering for everything I could ever need, there is always something (a service or a club) that fits exactly what I’m looking for. I would highly recommend going to Hallam

Terrible student support, don’t stick to learning contracts, unhelpful to harmful student support officers and little to no financial support, and little disabled student support
The experiences at Hallam are phenomenal as I have never experienced in my life! Like going to Iceland. Hallam has wonderful staff on your course and help you as much as they can! It is truly the best place to go !
When going through a really tough time during exam period last year the wellbeing team were absolutely amazing! I wouldn't have made it through the end of the year without them. Having never registered with the wellbeing team I came to Colliegate campus needing help as I was experiencing a very serious personal problem. The staff there got me in contact with the wellbeing team immediately and paid for a taxi for me to get to an available appointment on time. I cannot express how much I appreciate what they did for me. I've never received this kind of help from anywhere I've studied/worked.
The uni is good and the tutors are very helpful and act like they really want to help. My only negatives are a lot of the services offered at the university are often very slow and sometimes don’t help and also lots of the sport societies have awful rules and tricks they play on freshers to bully and intimidate them.

Sheffield Hallam was instantly preferred for me when looking round other universities and I have settled into it extremely easy
A brilliant uni in the Heart of the City centre. So much support and funding offered with a lot of guidance and encouragement to get experience alongside studies. Great resources.
I like there is WiFi, vending machine, microwave, card machine, train ticket machine and keetle at the main campuses! I really SHU
Very well organised and students are taught practical skills rather than just academic
Being at Sheffield Hallam has expanded so many horizons for me. The learning experience is fantastic and so is the night life. There are so many extra curricular to get involved in and so many ways to enhance your CV. There’s so many opportunities for you to get involved in. Sadly the Student Union isn’t that great but there’s so much to do in Sheffield that it doesn’t matter too much.
I love Sheffield Hallam, there is so much of a community spirit and so many events! If you’re not into ‘stereotypical’ uni societies, there is definitely something still for you! I feel so safe on campus and wouldn’t change my uni experience for the world, the facilities are amazing too!

Great uni, nice environment and nice people,
The university has provided me with really good friends and life experiences.
Partly to blame on me not focusing on my studies however when I resat some assignments I didn't find out if I had actually passed until mid September by which time I had actually been sent a timetable for the full year and was recieving emails from lectures about field studies and reading lists which prompted me that I had passed and had moved into a flat and signed a 10 month lease. Turns out I hadn't passed and so I either had to re-enroll and retake the year or drop out. After a mental debate I decided I didn't want to be part of an institution that didn't help it's students, due to me dropping out I had no student finance backing and had to try find someone to take on my flat lease, which the uni wouldn't help with whatsoever. In the end I've ended up having to set up a payment plan and have been paying off the debt monthly due to a mistake on my behalf of not studying and the amazing admin skills of the Sheffield Hallam University faculty.
The student union is in a poor location and no reason to go there

I’ve not yet found a single fault with Sheffield Hallam and I Have loved every minute of my time here. My bank account thinks otherwise
