The Moor Biography
Located within walking distance to the University of Sheffield, and Sheffield Hallam University, The Moor is perfectly placed for student living. It is based within the heart of the city, inside the popular Moor shopping centre. The Moor offers stylish, safe and central accommodation with over 100 rooms to choose from.
Students at The Moor benefit from a full calendar of fun social events and the use of social spaces, including a tv lounge. Residents can make full use of the laundry room, WiFi, and gym. Students have a choice of four different types of studios; Deluxe, Deluxe Plus, Deluxe Plus Twin (which has all the amenities of the Deluxe Plus with two twin beds for sharing), and Superior.
The Deluxe rooms come with an en-suite shower room, a fully equipped modern kitchen, dining table, a flat screen tv, storage space, study desk and chair, as well as super fast wifi. If you are looking for a bit more space, you can opt for the Deluxe Plus studios, which have the same amenities as well as additional floor and storage space, and a large comfy chair for relaxing. Finally, if you are looking for a more luxurious space, the Superior Studio is the largest of the studios, with all the same amenities plus a lovely lounge space with a couch and coffee table for entertaining.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

The Moor Sheffield is such a lovely uni accommodation. The city centre location is perfect, with so many shops around it. It’s also just a fifteen minute walk from the University of Sheffield. Lastly, the staff are extremely helpful and are quick to resolve maintenance issues.

I lived 3-4 accommodation in sheffield But i honestly says that this accommodation is best in the sheffield.. the manager and all staff is very helpful and friendly.. fully privacy studios and safe with all the amenities and if u want any help, the moor team is always available here…

It's is a great accommodation to stay in and a affordable one too. I recommend people to do check out this and save your money whilst studying. The location of accommodation is situated in the city centre which is super convenient for transport and grocery stories. The staffs are friendly and cooperative, quickly addressing any issues. "The staff is subpar, and the worst part is the manager. She has no sense of communication and shows no respect for the tenants at all. For the entire year, I had no Wi-Fi in my room, and I grew tired of complaining, so I gave up. Honestly, as a tenant, based on my experience, if you want to improve your service, consider replacing that manager. She is the reason this beautiful accommodation feels like a graveyard. lift was out of service for more than 3 months, heaters were not working properly. I couldn't get any compensation for that. As an international student, I was looted. Finally, she (the manager) deducted £134 from our deposit without providing any reason. And I am gonna complain in Council and consumer court as well. Please be ready to face the consequences.
Hello, Thank you for your review. We spoke with you at reception due to the damage you did to the mattress. The contract you signed with us at the beginging of the year states that you will need to pay for damages made during your stay with us. You were aware of the damage but refused to take responsibility so we deduced the £134 for a new mattress from your deposit. There is no way we can give the old mattress to a new resident with the state it was left in I am afraid. Wi-Fi is dealt with Glide, an external company, if you contacted them when we advised, they would have fixed the issue for you. The lift has not been out of service for 3 months? I believe you may be refering to the right hand staff lift, this is not accessbile for students. There is another left next to it which is in full working order. Regarding your heating, if you advised us of such an issue, you will be provided with a new heater up until yours was fixed. Thank you

So pleased with my room, I've re-booked for next year! Big windows give you plenty of natural light and a great view of the city.An extra set of sliding windows allow you to drown out any outside noise. Perfect location -- less than 15 minutes walk to Hallam Uni, or West St. Shopping and running errands is so easy when you're so close to to all the shops, which is a simple detail that I've grown to really appreciate whilst being so busy with uni. The Moor has so many fab amenities including study/meeting rooms, a social room and even a gym. If you wanted access to more machines/fitness equipment, The Gym is directly opposite the accommodation! I can literally see how busy it is from my room :) The staff at The Moor are so lovely and welcoming and have been absolutely brilliant with helping with any issues or general queries. All parcels are received and kept safely until you can collect them from reception. Lovely neighbors too. Definitely recommend!

The staff is so nice and friendly, no matter you have any problems they can help you as they can do. The most impressive thing is they help me to the documents. Actually they don’t have necessity to help me, but they are ready to help. So I think that their help can makes me feel good. My apartment is perfect. Everyone from the staff is extremely nice and always available to help with anything you need. The spaces are very clean and it’s a quiet environment. It’s also great if you want some privacy. Definitely recommend this house to anyone. :)

Pros - very good place for a student to live for a long term. - very friendly staff - all amenities are more than sufficient for a student. - very good hangout place with pool table, fuss-ball, and table tennis and many other board games. - playstation and xbox present at all common lounge areas. Cons - poor wifi connection , only my apartment has that problem with wifi. In contact with wifi company but the problem isn’t solved yet, its been 20 days I am living here.

Great Location as there are a lot of shops around; short distances to Hallam university and station. Even if the Moor pedestrian area is quite busy, when you close your windows it is completely silent, also no noises from neighbours next room. The staff is very kind and helps you whenever you need them.

The Moor, Sheffield Nice modern accommodation featuring well-designed rooms Excellent and friendly staff Student warden service fkr out of hours problems which is very useful Only criticism is that you need to use your keycard to access the power by putting it in a cradle, but your door will still lock you out if you close it without bringing your keycard with you, which could be improved upon

The accommodation was nice until a different agency took over it. After that everything went downhill and the staffs became rude. Not gonna stay next year but location wise all shops are near and close to both unis

I just visit my friend’s studio here. It’s quiet around the living rooms. The corridor is clean too. The game room is so interesting. There are lots of games. I am from university accommodation which doesn’t allow the students to enter the common room after 8pm. If I could live in Sheffield next year, I will chose this accommodation for sure. Nice!!!

It may look old from outside but the staff inside definitely warm your stay. They provide all the kitchenware which you don't have to hassle of buying those. They also provide fresh linen and cleaning if you needed. I really enjoy the stay in here!

I've stayed in Study inn for almost a year now, the location is super good you'll basically living in the city centre. The shops are 2 minutes away, Sheffield hallam city campus is 10 minutes away. The on site management are very friendly and helpful and it's 24/7 so you'll always feel safe. You'll pay less than any of most students accommodation and it's worth it, the downside is probably the WiFi that sometimes really slow, but I think they're working on it, cleaning service available every 2 weeks and it's including new bedsheets and towels. Not many accommodation can do that.

It is a lovely place with very friendly staff The room is convenient and has every essential item such as iron, kitchen tools. The location is perfect in the city centre 10 minutes from train stay and about 20 minutes walk from Sheffield university. I highly recommend this place for students
