All of the tutors are commited to providing a good learning environment and making sure everyone achieves their full potential which is refelcted in the teaching standard. Hallam also recieved TEF gold for their teaching standard which also shows their commitment to the students here. You also get three advisors for your time at Hallam - an academic advisor, a student support advisor and an employability advisor which are great as they will be there to help you whenever you might need it. The student community is also nice and friendly which is great for all students coming to Hallam. Trigon is an outstanding choice for accommodation. They respond promptly to inquiries, ensuring a smooth experience from the start. The service is top-notch, and everything is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. The staff is incredibly helpful, making you feel welcome throughout your stay. Friendly Staff and enjoyable societies
Hi there! I'm glad to hear that you have enjoyed being part of societies at Sheffield Hallam and have had a great experince with the staff here! I also really like the range of societes here and had a great experince as part of a social sports team as i found it fun but not too competitive which was good for me. We have over 50 social societies which you can see here: https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/opportunities/societies/social/ and around 45 academic societies: https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/opportunities/societies/academic/ so there is something for everyone! I also have found the staff here to be really friendly and it's just a friendly city in general. I also think it's great that we have three different advisors to help with our studies - an academic advisor, an employability advisor and a student support advisor as I have found these to be really helpful during my time at Sheffield Hallam. -Lucy :)

The construction project management course itself is a great, well-accredited course and Hallam is the 5th best UK univeristy for construction, surveying and planning which is reflected in the facilities and teaching quality that you have experienced. Great university very good for support when needed
Hi there, Thank you for leaving us a review! I am so glad that you have been enjoying your time at university so far with us and have found it to be a very supportive place. All students when they join us get access to three different teams of support – an academic team, a student support team and an employability team. This is great for whenever you need help with anything as you always know that they are there to help you with anything. All of our tutors and lecturers are very supportive too and are committed to making sure that all students get the best experience and do as well as they possibly can do. It a nice space and campus area

We are really proud of the space that we have created here and we love that both of our campuses are so close to the city centre as it means all students and staff are really close by to all of the shops, cafés and restaurants that we have in Sheffield! Very good staff, handy location

The university has a very positive feel and the campus is welcoming. The buildings itself are clean and modern. Quality of teaching is exceptional and the support available to students is excellent.

We pride ourselves on the fact that all of our students and staff create such a welcoming environment for everyone and we have a lovely community of people here. We also love that our campuses are so close to the city centre which makes it so easy for all students to access everything in the city centre and we are really close to the train station too! We are also currently building a new building which will be opening in 2025 and will have lovely new facilities for all students to access which is very exciting! This will be very modern and clean just like all of our other buildings. All of our teachers pride themselves on ensuring that all students get all of the help they need and that everyone gets the best grade that they possibly can. We have 14 different options, all of a varying price range, and all are in close range of campus. We also offer all first year students a room in one of our halls of residence with other Hallam students so it is a geat option when you are coming to university! Very good location (about 20 minute walk to uni and 5 minute walk to city centre). Very good value for money because it has alot of facilities such as washing machines and a cinema room.

I liked my last contract so much I stayed as a second year resident this September. Spacious kitchen, very good room layout. Facilities are always in hand (I.e, washing). The reception staff are kind and helpful.
Sheffield Hallam University has really good facilities as well as easy to access help in case of any academic year difficulties or problems, the student support team give really great advice as well as quickly link you to professionals to deal with your worries. The library has really great sources and as well as easy to download textbooks, research resources, old research results process to help you with your assignments or thesis / dissertation without having to spend fortunes on the textbooks. The tutor are really great at going over the topics of course and if any questions they ready to help anytime, they are really friendly and easy to get along as well as the tutor reply to emails very soon to their best of abilities.

Good place for students to live
The academic staff are generally helpful and the coursework is engaging, though there are occasional lapses in administrative efficiency. The campus facilities are decent but some areas could use updating. Socially, Sheffield offers a lively atmosphere with plenty of activities and a supportive student community. Accommodation is affordable but varies in quality. Overall, it's a good university experience with both strengths and areas for improvement.

I am currently studying in my second year at Sheffield Hallam. I have found everything so easy to access on the universities blackboard site and the support from my course leaders has been excellent. Every university building is so close together, making it an easy journey between lectures and seminars. The buildings are very modern with comfortable setting and a reliable WiFi connection for completing assignments. Hallam is a great university for all and I am enjoying my time here so much!

Experience of living here is great and the staff of the accommodation is nice.
moved here in January 2024. it’s been an great experience residing here. All the amenities are nicely maintained by the staff.
No nightlife events at the SU, unlike Uni of. decent amount of societies but none took my fancy. Collegiate campus is nice but not enough social spaces. Regular emails about careers opportunities.

There is a huge Hallam presence in the city centre… with Hallam buildings everywhere. The design of the city campus is nice, with lots of different buildings and nooks and crannies to hide away and study in (or socialise in!). The teaching staff are great and they really do genuinely care, which is refreshing. The weak point is the SU. The students union really does try… but the uptake of their events is very low, so there’s not much point going to an SU event in the hopes of socialising. The lack of our own student bar really causes a lack of community I feel. Regardless, there are some great societies at Hallam, and I would recommend Hallam as a great university to attend.

Overall a decent campus, really like the fact that the buildings have been kept authentic, just a few areas that could be improved but my experience there has been really good.

Hallam is a great space to learn, with excellent facilities and study spaces. It has lots of nearby places to fill up spare time and is close to many accomodation options

We at Unit 13 really appreciate the efforts that the new owners have taken. It was high time that these measures should have been made. Have been seeing steady dedication and progress by the new team in past month, be it taring the roads to setting up the street lights and even sending out maitainance the very same day the complaints are lodged. In terms of facilities, they are good. However, the content of the course is quite disappointed

Great facilities, but library compared to accommodation WiFi could be improved, also the dell computers could be updated :)

I am now in my final year and can say I’ve definitely loved my experience here. I’ve got to interact with many people, from local students, other internationals students, my lecturers and staff member. Definitely recommend working as Hallam Student Community Leader which helped pave many brilliant opportunities. I got to support/attend many events here which helped with my personal development. Also have to give a shout out to the career connect staff members as they really do put out many helpful events like cv and cover letter drop in session, spring career fair and many more. Last but not least, I also love the calm and green environment here compared to crowded cities. Sheffield definitely was the choice for a great university experience.

They have so many events for students to participate out of University and everything is there at on stop be it for volunteering, job or just for socialising.

WiFi is good in some places and awful in others
