Great uni. Lots of socializing and teaching standards are not too bad.
Great uni with good facilities.
The location and the views in and around the University are great and there is so many activities always happening and support provided
Happy overall with my decision going to Glasgow Uni
A great place to learn and socialise. Great gym and unions.
Really good campus and beautiful location
Glasgow university is okay but it quite old. The library toilets needs more money invested in them
Great university. I have had a great time learning new things and meeting new people.
The facilities provided by the university are quite outdated, where the computers always tend to be lack of memory. The clubs and societies here are great but I believe they could be done better in promoting people to join.
I think my uni is a good place to study and make new friends in different backgrounds.
Perfect place. Perfect education. Perfect staff. No regrets.
The campus is beautiful. The university provides different trainings for students in addition to the regular courses.
Great university with a fantastic social element, and focus on transformation and development.
Really? My uni is great. Come to University of Glasgow. Come to Education College.
All in all, this is a very, very good school. The teachers, classmates, staff and residents around me are all very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful, giving me a very good overseas study experience.
UofG is excellent! is one of the best university in Scotland or in UK. believe me, you will not regret to join the UofG
The school network is very fast, it is very convenient to study in the library, the library only has hot water on the third floor, and it is not free, this needs to be improved.
There are a lot of clubs and societies you can find in GU. The campus is beautiful and pretty big and it is on the hill. You can do some physical exercise every day. The Internet works properly in the most time. Career services can be more friendly to international students.
this university is my dream university, not only because of the beautiful and ancient building but also the teachers in my major and the learning atmosphere in the library. All of these are the reasons I fall in love with my university.
A beautiful and large university. I can feel the history in this university and the environment is good here.
A good uni to go to. I recommend.
Great looking campus with lots of continuing development and new buildings being built
The campus is very beautiful. I enjoy every moment in the university. Professors are professional and I acquire a lot useful knowledge from the lessons.
GOOD choice I will recommend my friends this school!
Great lecturers and online services.
Everything is great, through the social activities, I get well with many good friends.
The building is so stunning as a university in UK. However, some of the lecturers are a bit tricky on the exam or mid term exam.
beautiful university!the staff is nice!
UofG has very comfy facilities, beneficial non-academic programs and career services. The uni administration has a supportive, student-friendly liberal mindset, which is really super-cool. HOWEVER, the teaching itself is not that great mainly due to the large size of cohorts. There are constantly striking unions of professors which cause the loss of a lot of hours of courses. This is extremely unfair given the amount of money and effort students put into those courses. The uni administration is not even slightly bothered by the situation and cba to respond to students' complaints for the loss of these hours. 6-7 weeks of strike left us somewhat shocked and has been hugely to the detriment of the course of my education at UofG. The programs expect you to compensate for those weeks on your own. With regard to teaching and strikes, they are in extreme need of getting their things together.
Great and beautiful university. It is a great experience for me to study in this university. The facilities are all good but sometimes it is difficult to find the classrooms.
The campus is pretty good, and service is great
Best university in Scotland and the United Kingdom
Good good good Good good good Good good good Good good good Good good good
I'm in GIC now, and I've had a good experience since August last year. The teachers are excellent and the lessons are good. GIC staff sometimes prepare snacks for students. It's very considerate.
Can’t fault our uni; something for everyone here and top notch teaching.
The campus is stunning like a magic school. Also, warm and kind staff.
School is very close to my accommodation, campus is quite beautiful. And facilities are very convenient
I seldom to join the social group for fun.
The university that met my expectations! I am having a lovely time here and the professors are remarkably helpful. The students are all friendly and are there for you. The campus is beautiful and when the weather is just right it is even more stunning.
Extremely well-regarded and internationally ranked within the world top 65 universities. Enjoys a great reputation for high-level research and pretty much helped me enormously in getting into a PhD program. Did a MSc in Data Analytics (School of Mathematics & Statistics). Academic requirements and workload are pretty high so is the quality of teaching and staff. You will get expertise from some of the best researchers, many of them at the forefront of contemporary science. The University has a strong academic mindset this is more suitable for research inclined students, however, might not be ideal for practice seeking people. Overall, I dont regret anything about my choice for Glasgow University, it is a world-class institution. The knowledge and skills learned here will open you many new doors so do embrace it.
Overall, my experience in the University was amazing. I started being a close-minded brat and ended up being a well-rounded individual with loads of experiences. I appreciate the personalised services provided by the university and would recommend students to apply for its courses. However, the academic experience needs more work and a few courses in my field were unexpectedly vegetative and could be improved when it comes to the tutoring or co-curricular activities. If University of Glasgow is in your mind, just go for it without a second thought.
High standard and excellent academic learning materials.
The facility in the campus are well developed, the reputation of the university is good as well
Excellent uni with a student centric focus
Great Uni with a great atmosphere
Great place to peruse your study.
Fantastic university with great lecturers
Many diverse experiences are offered by the variety of societies.
Enjoying my time at glasgow uni and clubs and societies are great. Good lectures
Beautiful campus, with an excellent library sits in the center of main campus. Well reputation. Abundant clubs for student to explore their interests.
Awesome university. I really like it.
I'm impressed. It's really good. Data science is a challenging course and has been thought well
The campus is extremely charming with some historical flavor. The service for students are really helpful(widely covering).
It is a very nice and beautiful university. The teachers and staffs are very nice and helpful as well.
It's great! I like the uni.. I just hate uni accom.
The University of Glasgow is really good. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can imagine your future more easily, having dreams that you want to succeed!
Perfect university, friendly staff :)
Beautiful compus, nice facilities, friendly people!
I am very happy to study here. The teachers are nice. The school provides a lot of extra useful courses. The school buildings are very beautiful. It is amazing studying here.
Good environment and very congenial place
Great educational institution with competent faculty and community
Very nice!the campus is so beautiful
really good experience The location is great and staffs are really kind helpful and responsible ! By the way, the heater is not warm enough
Don’t be fooled by its prestigious reputation and beautiful main building. Once this novelty wore off, I personally thought the teaching was dreadful with staff absences happening around twice a week. Anyone who requires any extra support will not receive this from this institution. I tried for a year to Change to a course that I was overly qualified for but with no avail. In fact, I reached out to multiple universities in Scotland and every single one were much more helpful in guiding me and more timely than my own! It is a uni that is filled with intelligent students therefore they don’t care about the teaching. What’s much more admirable is unis like glasgow Cali who don’t have the best rep and accept much lower grades but produce bright employable graduates - that’s when you know the teaching in the middle is great. Accommodation isn’t great (like most unis) however it is overly expensive and far from campus in most cases!
Great university. Great course
Very good. Always used the library
In general, very positive experience.
I would encourage prospective students to look elsewhere. Last year students missed out on graduation and even degrees due to the university’s appalling handling of the strikes and subsequent non reply to complaints and refusal to reschedule lessons and deliver them. This then escalated to bullying and harassment of some students for fees to be paid despite the students not having had lessons delivered for a portion of semester two. There is also an extreme lack of support for students at this university from any student association. Last year futures were put in the balance or even ruined by University of Glasgow. The exact opposite one would expect from a supposed world ranking university. Please see my blog for further details. This is in addition to appalling working conditions and modules being changed at the last minute so you don’t actually get to study what you signed up for or were promised. [website link removed]
Everything is perfect in the Uni !!Library ...teachers ...students !!!
Such a nice student accommodation
Really helpful advisors, great mental health facilities, lots of construction going on currently over a 2 year period which can be slightly disruptive though. 2 student unions both great!
Shocking level of funding for the sports clubs and societies. Other sports clubs at universities such as Edinburgh enjoy much better support.
affordable, welcoming, fun, and intellectually rigorous.
Overall the facilities at the uni are excellent however the WiFi is often slow or doesn't work. It is particularly a pain when using it for some computing science course work as it is not possible to do some tasks.
An excellent, prestigious university with beautiful historic campus. Great student life, including excellent student unions and societies. A relatively homogenous, white middle-class student body being the main downside (however, this is recurring issue at most ancient universities).
It has everything we need and is necessary. nothing can beat the facilities they provide
Overall a great university, vet school is amazing.
Absolutely love it. Go to Murano for halls, it’s the most sociable.
Treated like a number No care for students Took 4 months for an essay Mark, copy and pasted feedback Lecturers not interested in teaching , seems a burden to a few
It’s clear that students are no longer the focus of the University’s aims as they continue to fund research and cut student services. The campus library is large but still fails to have enough space for students particularly during exam periods where it is near impossible to find study space. Hospitality services are ridiculously expensive.
This university thrives off of its reputation and being a Russel group university. However, after you arrive you see this image is all a facade. I’ve just finished a 4 year degree in engineering and can confirm the engineering department here is a joke. The best way to describe it is that lecturers are researches who have been forced to teach in order to maintain funds for their research. Students will always come second. The lack of facilities is astonishing for a university of this calibre. Approximately 150 computers specifically for engineering students this barely covers 15% of students in the school of engineering. Student support is non-existent. If you’re struggling you’re left for dust. The way the courses are taught sets you up to be a researcher not an engineer. If you want to do real engineering, apply to a technical university with industry links (Glasgow has none I’m aware of). Upon graduation they’ve done nothing to help me into working life and provide career support.
Dedicated teachers and excellent social life and societies. Glasgow is a very bustling and friendly city, and the university has a great reputation.
They don’t record lectures which makes it difficult
The university of glasgow is an excellent teaching and learning environment with lots to offer
always love GU, the things that arent so good give it character (like the ugly boyd orr building and the random numbering in the adam smith building), can’t imagine going anywhere else
Beautiful campus and buildings with high quality teaching on my course.
Very welcoming campus where everyone wants to make friends. Provides support and encouragement.
The University of Glasgow provides a great student environment, with great staff and great facilities. The student societies are of a top class, and the four student unions provide both great help and great enjoyment. One of the only problems is the eduroam WiFi, which is often quite slow or disconnects easily.
Amazing study spaces and socials organised by various societies.
Great university. Multinational
Can't really fault this university! I love it and it was my best decision to come here. All the academic buildings are on a campus which is stunning! Yet it's still in the city so you get the best of both lives! The city has so much character and also has its green spaces! I was in the best flat and loved all my flatmates! I didn't realise it was free to Europeans (I'm from England) so it's very multicultural and so interesting! The library is 12 floors but sometimes you still struggle for a seat but it's got the best book selection ever! My only issue with the university is the organisation of the Psychology department!
youd expect a place like this to not be filthier than the sewers. and the people arent much better.
I regretted attending this university.
It's a pleasure to study here.
There are to many students in this university, some classes have more than 200 students.
Can’t fault it! There’s two unions which is great and a lot of societies! WiFi is perfect, not had a problem!
What really makes this uni I feel is the library. Although it is often tight for space, the staff can really make your day. They always seem honestly happy to help with any problem you have. Coming in on a Sunday morning to write an essay for the next day (like I did this morning) is a pretty horrible thing to have to do, and getting a smile and being asked how your day has been by someone who actually seems interested really puts a smile on my face and motivates me. I can't recommend this university more.
I did a masters in economics and was very disappointed. Very expensive, yet you don't get much back, level is kept extremely low to make most students pass. The business model seems to be built mostly on a good marketing scheme.
An incredible place filled with incredible people. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough
One star areas are just not something I looked into much to be honest. Unions are dirty buildings meant for undergraduates for the most part. The rest was decent. Great library.
