Hyndland House is located in the vibrant West End, a popular area of Glasgow. It is within walking distance of the University of Glasgow and Library and only five minutes from the train station. It’s the ideal location for students in Glasgow.
There are great communal spaces to hang out in with friends. There’s a comfy common room with a widescreen TV which is perfect for movie nights. When you fancy some fresh air, head to the outdoor courtyard with a herb garden. Residents also benefit from onsite laundry facilities and if you bring a bike, there is secure storage to make use of. For added benefit, there is free WiFi, all-inclusive bills, secure entry, CCTV, an on-site security guard, free contents insurance and an on-site management team.
The rooms on offer include ensuite rooms in cluster flats with shared kitchens, or there are self-contained studios if you are after a bit more privacy. Whichever you choose, they all come fully furnished with a bed, study space, plenty of storage and a free bedding pack. Studios also come equipped with a sofa and coffee table.

Please note all our kitchens are large and come the following ammenities 2x kettles, 2 microwaves, 2x toasters, 2x large fridge/freezers plus plenty of storage. As any of the student accommodations in Glasgow, students are advise to keep the noise down after 11pm as Hyndland House is in a residential area.
Our security team is here to make sure the welfare and safety of all our students is followed. This means our security team does walks around the whole building to check everything is ok; they might go into kitchens to check all appliances are switched off but they won't go or knock into any student's room unless is neccessary (i.e loud noise, disturbance, etc).

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Living in Hyndland House has been fantastic so far! I have never had any issues with WiFi, the place is sparkling clean, staff are very friendly and always up for a chat. Any issues such as repairs are sorted quickly and efficiently. Location is unbeatable, with a small Tesco right across the road and Morrison’s and Lidl less than 5 minutes away. The University of Glasgow is a 10-15 minute walk depending on where your classes are held. I would definitely recommend living here.

Probably the only student accomodation that offers ensuite facilities at this price point so rooms get booked really quickly! Location is superb with grocery stores and university being within walking distance. Staff members are really supportive and amazing; they handle requests really efficiently! Staying at Hyndland House has been an amazing experience. The staff, including Erwin and Colleen, are incredibly friendly and always ready to help with anything you need. The flats, shared by 8-10 students, are fully equipped with two toasters, two microwaves, two kettles, and even an iron and vacuum cleaner—everything you could need is provided. All the bedrooms are ensuite and quite spacious, giving you plenty of personal space. One of the best perks is having a Tesco literally just a few steps away, making grocery runs super convenient. Plus, the many social events create a great sense of community. It's been the perfect student accommodation for me!

Feels Like Home – Excited for Another Year! I’ve been living at Hyndland House for a year now, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience. When I first moved in, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it quickly became a place that feels like home. I’ve just renewed for another year, and I’m genuinely excited to stay. One of the best things about this place is the location. It’s only a short walk to the University of Glasgow, which is perfect for those early lectures or late-night study sessions. This is my second year at Hynland House, and I feel incredibly fortunate to live here. As a student, affordability is important, and Hynland House offers some of the lowest prices in Glasgow’s West End. I considered sharing a flat with friends, but when factoring in bills, there wasn’t much difference. Above all, I feel very safe here. The 24-hour security and weekly kitchen cleaning service are wonderful. I’m especially grateful to the staff, particularly Graham and Colleen. Graham always does his magic, quickly fixing anything that’s broken and generously helping with any student issues. Colleen is an outstanding customer service advisor who consistently goes above and beyond. She’s passionate about her work, and her kindness shines through in everything she does. The Hyndland House team is the backbone of this place and what truly makes it special Living at Hynland House is truly a blessing, and I’m very grateful to be here!

I love staying at Hyndland House. The reception I’ve gotten these past weeks is nothing but exceptional. I love how inclusive the place is, making it a home away from home regardless of your background. Everything is in good shape and works perfectly here. Thank you so much for your feedback. We are very central to lots of local ammenities plus on Wednesdays and Saturdays we have our local farmers markets where you can enjoy some local food and treats.
The location is very good, with many supermarkets nearby as well as a huge supermarket for international students to buy the international food they need, which is very convenient. The University of Glasgow is also only a 15 minute walk away. The front desk service is very helpful, if you have a problem with your room that needs repairing or a quick parcel, they will always be very quick and nice to help you solve the problem. The Common Room gives out gift packs at Christmas and New Year, as well as free theatre and pizza parties. The best part is that their rental prices are very cheap for the Glasgow area. All in all, it's a very good value for money student accommodation and I'd happily recommend it to my friends.

Hyndland House does not seem to be inferior in any significant department to other private accommodations. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms and kitchen are excellent. I am not aware of any accommodations in Glasgow that provide this, however, I wish they would provide hand held bidet in the toilet or a way to install one as Hyndland House and other accoms around UoG cater to a lot of Asian students and this is a common tool in Asian toilets as opposed to just toilet paper. Moreover, I wish Hyndland House would become more strict in enforcing a kitchen bin-throwing schedule so that the same people do not have to do it over and over again. And also go after these people instead of issuing warnings to the whole flat to promptly take out the bins. All in all, I would recommend Hyndland House to anyone looking for private student accommodation.

Hyndland House provides an exceptional living experience with its excellent location, outstanding property management, impeccable cleanliness, inviting social spaces, vibrant social experience, and reliable internet connection. Overall great services, the building is quite new, kitchen weekly cleaned by staff. Although note that if you're staying throughout the summer into the first semester — there's a 1 week gap between the tenancy which you'll have to find somewhere else to live on your own :(

The best student accommodation in Glasgow! The staff are friendly and very welcoming! You feel safe. The security guards are friendly, and they regularly do partrols around the accommodation every night. You feel welcomed. From day one, they help you move your stuff into your room if you're coming in alone. The staff even offered to teach you how to cook! They make a genuine effort in providing you the best social experience by creating social events that let you get to know other students staying there as well. Lots of free food and free drinks! Clean rooms and clean kitchens. You're responsible for cleaning up your own kitchen which you share with 8-9 other people (so in total maybe 10 people in a kitchen?), but they also have staff coming in every week to do a deep clean of your kitchen. To top it off, you are close to lots of restaurants around the university. It's just a 10-15 minute walk to uni, and 1-5 minute walk to the nearest Lidl, Morrisons, and Tesco.

Hyndland House has been an excellent choice. The rooms are modern, clean, and fully furnished with everything a student needs, including a private bathroom and ample storage. The location is perfect, just a short walk from campus and close to shops and public transport. The amenities are fantastic with laundry facilities, and common area for socializing and studying. Regular social events foster a strong sense of community. Security is top-notch, with 24/7 surveillance and secure entry systems. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. All the staff were very accomodating. John the securuty guard is always there for any late night issues and is always friendly when coming home late at night. The staff always help with any issues such as replacing burned lights or with clogged drains. My flatmates were friendly and easy to get along with. Loved how close to the uni the building is.

I really appreciated the cleaning service at Hyndland House as Jacqui was very thorough with the cleaning and it was always sparkling clean after! The main issue was that it was challenging to have the kitchen stay clean due to the cleaning service being once a week and it is hard to stop flatmates from making the flat kitchen quite dirty.

I have lived in hyndland house for 3 years, and it has been without a doubt the 3 best years of my life! The staff is very friendly, the location in the west end is perfect, and all the services are great. Big thanks to everyone working at Hyndland house for their help and good vibes!

I am only halfway through my time at Hyndland House and I will be so so devastated to have to leave!! I booked this accommodation last minute through a cancellation for my years placement for university and I couldn’t have gotten a better place! The staff were so so lovely and welcoming from day one! I was moving to a city I had never stepped foot in and they made me so welcome! This is the largest, cleanest and modern student accommodation I have ever stayed in and I always think being able to come back to a nice room from a day of work or studying makes life so much better! The area Hyndland house is in is incredible, close to amenities such as a Tesco's, Morrisons and Lidl’s so you can take your pick! There is a pharmacy near by and plenty of gorgeous cafes and bakery’s for any fellow foodies out there! The value for money is second to none, with free snacks, social events, you can’t ask for much more! The social spaces are also kept clean by the lovely cleaners! 10/10 all round!

I've had a great experience at Hyndland House-- the accommodation itself is quite nice, particularly for a student accommodation, the location is fantastic, and the staff especially really go above and beyond to make sure students have the best experience possible. They're really friendly and Chris and Erwin organize a lot of events for students and are always there to chat or help you however they can. I've also been able to rent the common room a few times now, which is a really fantastic spot to host parties and everybody I've invited over has really enjoyed the space. I would definitely recommend Hyndland House to anyone looking for accommodation in Glasgow

Excellent location , close to subway / train station / shops / market and uni! Very quiet as well. Approachable outgoing staff and security, making it a friendly community and reliable if needed. Value for money relative to other options excellent. Undercover bike storage but exposed , nice social room , and kitchens / bedrooms are excellent layout. Bedrooms have a huge desk, plugs well located , nice wardrobe , lots of shelves and drawers and lovely size. Smart TVSs and all you need in the kitchen , which is again a great size and not a problem there’s 8 of you. Slow wifi. Contactless key cards snap easily. Hotel vibe with rooms on a corridor , no individual flats. So less security and homely. - rooms hitting 35 degrees , with no radiator on, in late November in Scotland !! Food melting - Dodgy electrical kitchen appliances / not great cleaning - Windows open 1 inch , no ventilation for room/ bathroom-sweaty&muggy - Washing machines useless - still covid rules

Please also note we are the only accommodation which does not charge the students for new cards when they are broken or damage. The reason we do not have individual flats is for the same reason you mentioned on your review. We are a community not an isolated selection of small flats. Having this lay out offers the opportunity to all our students to truly feel part of the community and meet others easily. We have CCTV all around the building which is monitored 24/7 plus we have security on site every evening; if you ever feel unsafe at Hyndland House please come and let us know as we thrive to make sure all our students feel safe and well looked after. We have housekeeping staff on site Monday- Friday. Our housekeeping staff is super approachable as you mentioned on your review so if there has ever been any issues with cleaning please do not forget you can mention this to the team. Hyndland House is on the top 3 accommodations in Glasgow with the best cleaning standards. All our windows including the kitchen windows open more than just 1inch- this is part of the Student Accommodation law for health and safety all our students. We have fans and heaters on site for all our students if they are ever required. It is our responsability to keep everyone safe here at Hyndland house; so asking students who test positive with Covid to self isolate in their rooms for at least 2 days whille sysmptons dissapear, it is hardly "Covid rules still apply". Please note anyone who needs to self isolate for whatever reason we provide them with equipment for cooking, cleaning products and sometimes even food deliver to their door. Once again as you mentioned about community and being approachable we would have thought you would have come to see us about all these issues you have mentioned on this review. Having lived here for 4 years, I've grown to truly appreciate this place. The people that I've met, the friends that I've made, and of course all of the lovely staff at Hyndland House that made my stay such a fond memory. Huge thanks to the scheme manager Kayleigh and the receptionists Michelle, Chris and Erwin for being the most caring hosts throughout these years and helping us all out with all sorts of troubles, doing their best to support us in the time of need, and the security guards John and Robert for keeping us welcome 24/7, making us feel safe and a bit less lonely during the nights. Special thanks to Graham for the speedy repairs whenever something broke and to Jackie and the cleaning team for ensuring our kitchens and common areas were sparkling clean every time. This is my second year in Hyndland and I would say that there’s no better place to be!! The Friendly staff members and Graham, our Mr Fix it has brought joy to my Glasgow life here:) the location is also perfect for groceries, transport, food and anything that you could ever asked for!!

I booked a room in Hyndland House to escape the crazy housing situation and so far, 4 days since I moved in, I can confidently say this was one of the best decisions I made. Hyndland House is in a great spot in the West end and the building is very modern, bright and clean. The staff are all so nice and welcoming. I had a small issue when checking in due to a software error, but it was resolved. There is a cozy common room but it's not the biggest.

Home away from home! Great location – it is about 10mins walk to the main campus, you have Tesco’s right in front of your doorstep, Morrisons and Partick train station are just 5mins away, and the nearest bus stop is only a 2min walk (or less if you’re fast!). As a medical student myself, it is so important to me to have all these amenities within short walking distance as it makes my daily commute to different hospital sites a lot easier, and safer too particularly when coming home late after a back/night shift. What I really like about staying in Hyndland House is that it is not as big as other student accommodations, which to me is a bonus as you get to know the people living and working there, and they really feel like family. Everyone from the management team is so warm and lovely, which makes living and studying in Glasgow a lot more bearable. They would truly go out of their way to help you with any situation, and for this, I am truly grateful to be living here.

I've loved my stay here and would highly recommend it! The staff is so accommodating and regularly holds fun events. My only issue was when I first moved into my room, there were food wrappers and underneath the drawers and the drawers themselves had a lot of hair in it, so I'd recommend giving your room a quick clean yourself too when you move in, but other than that, it's been fantastic!

Hyndland House has the best staff you could ask for. They are always doing their best to make sure you are happy and comfortable; they are super friendly, kind and approachable. They also put on fun events for the students. I first had an en-suite room, now a studio, and I am really happy with both experiences. I feel I am really lucky to have found Hyndland house instead of any other student living.

Hyndland house is a warm and welcoming environment, with everything you need to make a home from home. It's safe, clean, and secure. The location is great, near the hot street, and there is a subway station and bus stop nearby-it is easy to go to everywhere by public transport from there! (except the bar near which is a little bit noisy during weekends night) And the wonderful Chris, Kayleigh, Jone and Graham~You are all nice and willing to help us! Pros: - WiFi is fire (30m/s) - The kitchen is a bit small if everybody is in at the same time - Location is amazing, You got TESCO right in your face, and Lidi, Morrison nearby. You also have Home Bargain, Argos, and Poundland no far away from you. - Covid management is awesome as well. They do try their very best in keeping all of us safe. If you got covid unfortunately, they are also very helpful without deserting you. - Ensuite price is fire. With all the perks above the price they offer is very competitive - Close to UniParcel This is very important and very helpful Cons: - The guy in the reception is cocky and annoying sometimes. A considerable amount of the students did not have a great impression on him, because he looks very unprofessional and immature in communication. However, the lady in the management team is very nice and helpful. If you have problems she is the one you want to ask. - Very hot inside of some of the rooms during some days of the summertimes

The cleaners are amazing ! Don’t know what we would do without them making sure our kitchens are of a high standards and even more because of covid. Amazing prices and there is always events on which is a good way for me to meet new people and friends. Definitely worth living here. The staff here are super friendly and helpful, they always respond quickly. The accommodation has good location which is convenient for our life. You can walk less than 10mins to go to 3 supermarkets. Also, subway and train station are nearby. During the pandemic, they strictly follow guidelines and prioritize our safety. Sadly, we can't organize social activities as normal. Generally, it is good value!

Honestly, the best accommodation in Glasgow. Great location very close to the university and to other local amenities, excellent value for money in comparison to other places which are way more expensive and very spacious rooms. Also the staff is the nicest, and are always willing to help us especially with the current coronavirus situation. 100% recommend, you won't regret it!!!!

Hyndland House is an amazing place to stay. The staff made me feel so welcome and really personalized my stay. Everytime I walk past reception or bump into a member of staff along the corridor, they always greet me or take the time to stop and talk. I had a great time during my masters last year. I made several new friends and have fond memories or my time spent at Hyndland. I would recommend Hyndland House to anyone attending the University of Glasgow.

A great place to stay! Even during COVID the staff have been extremely helpful and comforting. My friend had to self isolate and the staff reassured him and kept in touch virtually to make sure he was ok. They went above and beyond. The building is in an amazing location and so close to the university. We have lots of local shops, bars and cafes close by and even a market every week right across the road with fresh fruit and vegetables. My room is clean, comfortable and it’s a fantastic space to study. I have loved living in Hyndland House during my masters. Even though it wasn’t the year we planned, the staff made sure we were well looked after throughout the pandemic and tried to give us the best experience they could. 10/10

A really lovely place to stay. The staff are incredibly kind and made me feel so welcome during my first year here. It's a very short walk away from the Uni, as well as two supermarkets, a train station, a subway station, and lots of amazing cafes. Although I stayed here during Covid, Hyndland set up a private facebook page for people to share things like recipes, weather updates, and even set up groups to go on walks with, so I never felt out of touch with any other residents, and always that our welfare was a priority. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Fantastic place to live if you're a student! Location is excellent and only a 10 minute walk from Glasgow Uni. There's a Lidl and Morrisons really close by and a Tesco Express directly opposite the accommodation so you'll never have to walk far to go grocery shopping. Kelvinhall subway station is only a couple of minutes away if you need to get to the city centre and Partick train station is also nearby. The staff are all absolutely wonderful and deal with any issues you may have promptly. The rooms are spacious and clean and the kitchen is big enough to accommodate all of your flatmates (plus there's a smart TV in each kitchen). A major bonus is that the kitchen and communal areas get cleaned weekly, so no arguing with your flatmates over cleaning! The staff also organise events such as Halloween movie nights and games so you can meet other people in the building. Cherry on top is that I received my entire deposit back which is great (and not always the case in student accommodation).

Hyndland House is well equipped and clean, and very comfortable to live in. Especially the response of the staff is excellent. They are always friendly and very kind to us and respond quickly to any request. The support for Covid-19 is also perfect, so we can live with peace of mind. Hyndland Houe is located with good access to supermarkets, subways, trains and restaurants. It's probably the best student flat in Glasgow. If I return to Glasgow as a student again, I will definitely choose Hyndland House.

Best place in Glasgow to live so clean
Amazing place to stay, they provide so much and always go above and beyond for everything. The best student accommodation I have ever stayed at. I am recommending to everyone. The staff are so lovely and make you feel welcome and speak to you everyday. The cleaning staff are amazing and are so amazing at their job. The place is really high standard and always kept spotless. They hold really good events for us, where we can bond and make other friends. If you ever have an issue you can always speak to the staff and they are always happy to help no matter what, the staff are so friendly. I am and would come back every year because it’s so worth Value for money. I would 1000% recommend anyone who is thinking of student accommodation to live here as they are the best in the business and provide everything you need to make your stay so much easier. Especially if you are transitioning from a different country.

Hyndland House is the ideal accommodation for students.Within just 10 min walking distance from the University of Glasgow, across Mansfield park, in the centre of Partick, one of the best and safest areas in Glasgow, Hyndland house combines the studies' requirements with moments of relaxation. In less than 10 min walking distance, you can find supermarkets, restaurants and shops, as well as the subway and the train station. The staff, always polite and willing, are there to take care of the student's safety and comfort. Finally, this is a VFM accommodation as it offers larger rooms (compared to other student halls in the area) at a good rate.I chose a room with a shared kitchen and I am very satisfied. One could cite the absence of a gym as a disadvantage. However, this does not hold, as most accommodations which provide gyms have limited fitness machines.Additionally, most students register at the university's gym, which has very cheap subscriptions (especially for students).

The rooms are larger than the average room size in any other accomodation and the cleaning service is provided every week. I have been staying here for about two years and I get discounts every year for rebooking ☺️
Wonderful student accommodation with friendly and helpful staff. Best location where Tesco is located right opposite the accommodation as well as located near to subway stations, Partick railway station as well as other supermarkets (Morrisons and Lidl). It is wonderful that the staff here also tried to organise different social events so that everyone feels as a part of the community here.

Very close to all shops and services and well located within walking distance to the University of Glasgow. Is clean and tidy, with a nice common room as well where you can relax with friends. Staying here the third year next year and I highly recommended to all - from a first year through to phD etc. You'll love it!
What I love best about this hall is the weekly cleaning of the kitchen. It is very important for me because when we share the kitchen with roommates, sometimes people just don’t clean up. Also, I think the hall has the best location among all the student accommodations. It is close to the subway and train station, and close to Morrison, Lidi, and some Chinese shops. Working staff here are very kind. There is always fruit and candies for us to take.

Moving into Hyndland House was the best thing I could’ve done for second year. I’ve made some of my best friends here and the staff are incredible at what they do.

Staff are extremely good, can’t fault this place. Love living here
Great student accommodation. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms and kitchens are really good as well.
Relatively cheap price at this area. An excellent location, few minutes walk to supermarket, train stations, subway and university. Common kitchen will be cleaned weekly. Nice staff.

Great place to stay in! The rooms are rather spacious with a good design and I have had my share of fun with my kitchenmates.
Hyndland House is one of the best near university of Glasgow. I've felt nothing but comfortable here. All thanks to the management team for making the environment friendly and hassle free

Basic. It had what it needed, a bed, toilet and kitchen. Nothing luxurious but that's what's to be expected.
