It's great! I like the uni.. I just hate uni accom.
The University of Glasgow is really good. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can imagine your future more easily, having dreams that you want to succeed!
Perfect university, friendly staff :)
Beautiful compus, nice facilities, friendly people!
I am very happy to study here. The teachers are nice. The school provides a lot of extra useful courses. The school buildings are very beautiful. It is amazing studying here.
Good environment and very congenial place
Great educational institution with competent faculty and community
Very nice!the campus is so beautiful
really good experience The location is great and staffs are really kind helpful and responsible ! By the way, the heater is not warm enough
Don’t be fooled by its prestigious reputation and beautiful main building. Once this novelty wore off, I personally thought the teaching was dreadful with staff absences happening around twice a week. Anyone who requires any extra support will not receive this from this institution. I tried for a year to Change to a course that I was overly qualified for but with no avail. In fact, I reached out to multiple universities in Scotland and every single one were much more helpful in guiding me and more timely than my own! It is a uni that is filled with intelligent students therefore they don’t care about the teaching. What’s much more admirable is unis like glasgow Cali who don’t have the best rep and accept much lower grades but produce bright employable graduates - that’s when you know the teaching in the middle is great. Accommodation isn’t great (like most unis) however it is overly expensive and far from campus in most cases!
Great university. Great course
Very good. Always used the library
In general, very positive experience.
I would encourage prospective students to look elsewhere. Last year students missed out on graduation and even degrees due to the university’s appalling handling of the strikes and subsequent non reply to complaints and refusal to reschedule lessons and deliver them. This then escalated to bullying and harassment of some students for fees to be paid despite the students not having had lessons delivered for a portion of semester two. There is also an extreme lack of support for students at this university from any student association. Last year futures were put in the balance or even ruined by University of Glasgow. The exact opposite one would expect from a supposed world ranking university. Please see my blog for further details. This is in addition to appalling working conditions and modules being changed at the last minute so you don’t actually get to study what you signed up for or were promised. [website link removed]
Everything is perfect in the Uni !!Library ...teachers ...students !!!
Such a nice student accommodation
Really helpful advisors, great mental health facilities, lots of construction going on currently over a 2 year period which can be slightly disruptive though. 2 student unions both great!
Shocking level of funding for the sports clubs and societies. Other sports clubs at universities such as Edinburgh enjoy much better support.
affordable, welcoming, fun, and intellectually rigorous.
Overall the facilities at the uni are excellent however the WiFi is often slow or doesn't work. It is particularly a pain when using it for some computing science course work as it is not possible to do some tasks.
An excellent, prestigious university with beautiful historic campus. Great student life, including excellent student unions and societies. A relatively homogenous, white middle-class student body being the main downside (however, this is recurring issue at most ancient universities).
It has everything we need and is necessary. nothing can beat the facilities they provide
Overall a great university, vet school is amazing.
Absolutely love it. Go to Murano for halls, it’s the most sociable.
Treated like a number No care for students Took 4 months for an essay Mark, copy and pasted feedback Lecturers not interested in teaching , seems a burden to a few
It’s clear that students are no longer the focus of the University’s aims as they continue to fund research and cut student services. The campus library is large but still fails to have enough space for students particularly during exam periods where it is near impossible to find study space. Hospitality services are ridiculously expensive.
This university thrives off of its reputation and being a Russel group university. However, after you arrive you see this image is all a facade. I’ve just finished a 4 year degree in engineering and can confirm the engineering department here is a joke. The best way to describe it is that lecturers are researches who have been forced to teach in order to maintain funds for their research. Students will always come second. The lack of facilities is astonishing for a university of this calibre. Approximately 150 computers specifically for engineering students this barely covers 15% of students in the school of engineering. Student support is non-existent. If you’re struggling you’re left for dust. The way the courses are taught sets you up to be a researcher not an engineer. If you want to do real engineering, apply to a technical university with industry links (Glasgow has none I’m aware of). Upon graduation they’ve done nothing to help me into working life and provide career support.
Dedicated teachers and excellent social life and societies. Glasgow is a very bustling and friendly city, and the university has a great reputation.
They don’t record lectures which makes it difficult
The university of glasgow is an excellent teaching and learning environment with lots to offer
always love GU, the things that arent so good give it character (like the ugly boyd orr building and the random numbering in the adam smith building), can’t imagine going anywhere else
Beautiful campus and buildings with high quality teaching on my course.
Very welcoming campus where everyone wants to make friends. Provides support and encouragement.
The University of Glasgow provides a great student environment, with great staff and great facilities. The student societies are of a top class, and the four student unions provide both great help and great enjoyment. One of the only problems is the eduroam WiFi, which is often quite slow or disconnects easily.
Amazing study spaces and socials organised by various societies.
Great university. Multinational
Can't really fault this university! I love it and it was my best decision to come here. All the academic buildings are on a campus which is stunning! Yet it's still in the city so you get the best of both lives! The city has so much character and also has its green spaces! I was in the best flat and loved all my flatmates! I didn't realise it was free to Europeans (I'm from England) so it's very multicultural and so interesting! The library is 12 floors but sometimes you still struggle for a seat but it's got the best book selection ever! My only issue with the university is the organisation of the Psychology department!
youd expect a place like this to not be filthier than the sewers. and the people arent much better.
I regretted attending this university.
It's a pleasure to study here.
There are to many students in this university, some classes have more than 200 students.
Can’t fault it! There’s two unions which is great and a lot of societies! WiFi is perfect, not had a problem!
What really makes this uni I feel is the library. Although it is often tight for space, the staff can really make your day. They always seem honestly happy to help with any problem you have. Coming in on a Sunday morning to write an essay for the next day (like I did this morning) is a pretty horrible thing to have to do, and getting a smile and being asked how your day has been by someone who actually seems interested really puts a smile on my face and motivates me. I can't recommend this university more.
I did a masters in economics and was very disappointed. Very expensive, yet you don't get much back, level is kept extremely low to make most students pass. The business model seems to be built mostly on a good marketing scheme.
An incredible place filled with incredible people. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough
One star areas are just not something I looked into much to be honest. Unions are dirty buildings meant for undergraduates for the most part. The rest was decent. Great library.
Glasgow law school is the 2nd best in the U.K. hahaha up you Oxford!!!!
Love the uni. So much to do, everyone is lovely, great members of staff - both teaching staff and support staff.
A historically good university ruined first by its students, electing a pathetic rector, purely as a political gesture, wishing to censor free speech, and then the University Officials having a complete disregard for the heritage of the university and the surrounding area and demolishing a sizable ornate former infirmary block to throw up some glass monstrosity. It disappointed me more every year.
An amazing place to study with awesome people and quality teaching
Friendly area, fantastic facilities, great place to experience Unversity life and study.
The whole university as a whole is a timeless location with great minds coming out from it and has been a crucial part of the Galasgow culture and life as a Glasgow Uni student is definitely at the top from great education facilities to great night life. There’s a lot for students to do in and out with the uni.
Mostly old lecture theatres, hence quite uncomfortable benches and stuff. Just like old churches. Computer labs in Maths and Stats building and Boyd Orr building are good. Lots of cafeterias and coffee shops around campus, but not always easy to find! Very crowded in the 2017/2018 semesters due to a mistake where the uni accepted too many students.
The world best university. I like it too much. And inshAllah i have a plan for Master Degree in Electrical Engineering. There students are friendly and supportive.
Very lovely historical University.
Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting. The experience I had with this University left me humiliated and absolutely dejected. I was treated with so much rudeness from the staff members and unbelievable indifference for a potential student trying to explain that their online account does not work. The man from the complaints team seemed absolutely bored with his job which would explain why he hung up on me and BLOCKED my number. What kind of University allows the staff members to act in this manner....absolutely dissapointed. It is not worth it.
Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting. The experience I had with this University left me sick to my stomach, humiliated and angry. I was with extreme rudeness from staff members and utmost indifference. It left me speechless how terrible they can be to potential students. I wish I had never signed up for this University.
It's great to study at such an old university! Feels like I'm actually in Hogwarts!
Can't complain, it's pretty standard
Library is the worst place on earth
Glasgow is number 1 in scotland
So many cool societies, tailored to every interest!
No complaints, offer everything I can think of
Overall good university- however could benefit form more seating areas
Absolutely beautiful university, great campus and great location, can't fault the university itself at all
Glasgow University is like studying at Hogwarts without the witchcraft and wizardry. It is a beautiful campus with lots of useful facilities surrounding it. The library is huge, and there are always staff around to help. There are many opportunities to join clubs and societies, the only criticism I would have of this is the funding for the clubs is not the best. There are two unions to choose from, GU is definitely the best if you can get past the smell of stale beer. Overall a great place to study!
All services provided at the university are excellent in almost every way. However the university accommodation options provided are far away from the university. An on-site car park would also be really beneficial.
It's all pretty good at Glasgow really
Beautiful campus, tons of societies and amazing Student Unions!
Have really enjoyed my first term at University of Glasgow :)
Wonderful university, great quality of courses and great lecturers and tutors.
Met so many awesome people, although there have been problems with wifi conNecton in my halls
I've had a great first year so far and met many great people. The uni is fantastic with great lectures/lecturers and there's always plenty to do with two unions and Glasgow city centre only 20 minutes away
The university of Glasgow suits me perfectly
Really friendly and lively, always someone to talk to! All facilities needed are available, there's nothing needed that we don't seem to have! Main buildings are beautiful with great views especially in summer. Also high level of teaching and staff.
It's a great university with great facilities and fantastic teaching. I love the tea there too. ten out of ten.
It is billiant and I wouldn't change for the world
Very good education, great nightlife to go with it and great night at the unions
Great facilities on campus with lots of events on and clubs to join. Wi-fi is a bit temperamental at times but this is not a massive issue. A great benefit is the computer labs open 24 hours for computing students which is of great benefit to computing students.
Great university, staff all very supportive and Great facilities.
Great university, really moving with the times!
Feels like they actually care about the students.
Excellent university with great facilities and an unbeatable reputation. I value in particular the learning atmosphere around the campus, the university's very dedicated academic staff and its extensively well equipped library; the UofG is a perfect place for studying and research!
convinent wifi connection all over the campus, full of historical landmarks and academic atmosphere, professional teachers, lots of career opportunities
Excellent Uni! Massive range of clubs and societies, most of which are well organised and run. 2 student unions so better choice on nights out. Great prospects on graduating
eduroam doesnt even work what a f****** joke
Excellent university, friendly and helpful teachers/staff/Freshers' helpers
It has amazing student unions full of events where you can go and have a great time! There is also many many societies which you can check out and join.
The campus is big but easy to find places. The buildings are nice and lecture theatres I have been in are clean and a good temperature with students being respectful with regards to noise during classes
Only at the start of uni but feel very welcomed
The University of Glasgow provides a good experience for almost everyone, giving you the chance to study in a social and sporty environment.
Beautiful and well organised campus. Staff (acerbic and others) are on the whole helpful, and the degree content is second to none.
banter banter banter banter top banter
Glasgow uni is the best decision I ever made. I study languages and love my course! The city is the best place to be as a student and the university is so beautiful - it's so nice to study in such a lovely building. Come to Glasgow - I can guarantee you won't regret it!
I love my uni, from the building to the lecturers it's by far the best experience of my life so far!
Amazing place full of opportunities. Unions are top class.
I enjoy being at Glasgow uni. It's a fun place to be while also providing great classes. It does a lot to provide employment opportunities and diverse studies
Beautiful university campus with great wifi.
Amazing atmosphere and can sense the history on campus every time you visit. Loving university of Glasgow life after completing my first year.
The University of Glasgow has a plethora of outstanding features, in a variety of areas. From academic prowess and achievements to sporting dominance - not forgetting the insane nightlife that goes with it! There's something for everyone. And not just something to get involved in, something to be proud of!
