Not much to do for students and no good events
Really good university, tutors are fantastic on my course and ive made some absolutely fantastic friends
A very good university with excellent lecturers. Provided with the good facilities along with great services on and off the campus. Easy to fit in campus and the city itself.
I have been there for less than a year, but the amount of kindness and nice people I have met makes up for all the new knowledge I have had to consume. If I had a choice to take my degree now, or continue on for 2-3 more years, I would stay, as a degree is worth nothing if you haven't had any fun. Because in the end, only 1 thing matters - to enjoy life to the fullest.
Great course (Mechanical Engineering) which is what I came for, nice people and lots of fun to be had! Only at year two and I'm already set up for a graduate role when I finish my degree!
At Coventry University, everybody is friendly with everyone. Everyone smiles at everyone. It's a very lively and interesting atmosphere.
Coventry University is a good uni however, it would be useful if the companion books provided upon starting the course actually arrive on time e.g. my fellow peers and I are still waiting on a book which by the time we receive it, the module will be over. The uni really needs to sort out it's organisation.
Great university the engineering side of things are great with amazing course content
needs to be more more events to and things to do in the area, some courses need better value for money, e.g. im paying £9,000 a year to go in once a week for a 2 hour lecture, and its just housekeeping -_- staff need to offer more individual support, teach those that want to be taught e.g. sit down and help with specific skills, and take into consideration the mentality of others, e.g. if students need guidance due to a lack of confidence or unsurity then they need to be helped
Timetables suck. Takes forever to get grades back. But on the plus side the lecturers are pretty good
The uni is great in everything..I'm in my first year and am enjoying it
Great uni, which is only getting better year on year :) come to coventry :D
Coventry university review
Great schemes for traveling abroad In city campus Part of the environment Great history
Cons?
Not much interdepartmental links
Good if you want to do well
With the 9 grand I spend a year on my course, I get tonnes of out-of-lecture support, free equipment I need for the course(tablet, raspberry pi, chromebook). My building itself is an amazing, filled with access to computers, an awesome careers advice team and a starbucks. The library has the basement area which in my expirience is always open, where students can go to relax and study with access to the uni's great book and software libraries. If you look hard enough in Coventry you can find accomodation thats cheap and will suit you (providing you're not in halls cause their prices are ridiculous).
Cons?
There are two half decent clubs in Coventry: Kasbah and JJs, Kasbah is constantly being moaned about online due its over crowding and rude staff. The staff i've met are lovely but the main room is like a sardine can. Our student union "The phoenix" is part of a chain of scream pubs and offers overpriced everything along with mediocre food, rosie malones, quids in and the oak are a much better alternative if you want tosave some money- and theyre all next door!
Excellent Univeristy.
The facilities are top quality and some of the best in the country. There is a real dedication to getting graduates employed once their degree is completed and so there is a focus on employability skills the entire duration of your course. Top lecturers, excellent opportunities.
Cons?
It's a shame this university is shadowed by nearby Warwick even though it is clearly better as shown by league tables and student employment. Also, as a city, coventry is a bit irrelevant so location isn't great.
