What I like the most about this place is the staff at reception. They are so so helpful and friendly and is one of the main reasons I chose to rebook. I also am a big fan of the social space especially the pool table. The location is great! I have all the shops I need just a two min walk away, and if necessary city centre is like a 10 min walk away.

Gulson Gardens Biography
Gulson Gardens offers residents modern student accommodation in an ideal location in Coventry. The city centre is a mere ten-minute walk away and is full of bars, cinemas, restaurants and shops. Getting to class couldn’t be easier as Coventry University is an eight-minute walk away and the University of Warwick is a twenty-six-minute walk away.
You can enjoy meeting your neighbours at one of the many residents’ events or take advantage of one of the many social spaces, such as a cinema room, games area, lounge, dining room, courtyard, sky lounge and even a gym. You can benefit from handy amenities and facilities such as a study area, vending machine, Wi-Fi and broadband, cycle store and laundry facilities. What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

I have really enjoyed my first semester in Gulson Gardens. Any issues are resolved straight away, for example the fridge broke and within 15 mins a new one was installed. Staff are great, friendly and approachable. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to others.
Living here is nice considering they have a supermarket and some food shops near the accomodation also their room is quite big and new which i've been enjoying it but they don't have a service in the acoom so i can't get any calls or messages inside the building. It makes me really uncomfortable since i always had to wait before my delivery comes and don't know if anyone called me when im in the accom cause they don't have service. Also, around this area like sainsbury, kebab rush they don't have service too which is quite weird. So if you don't mind living without getting calls and messages, i would recommend this place (their wifi sometimes doesn't work too and it takes around 2hours to get it fixed)
The staff have all been very helpful from the day I moved in. I love all the spaces available at the accommodation, including the gym, study room, and the sky lounge. The whole building is beautifully decorated and really does feel like home.

Very good accommodation with good facilities
Great place to live while you're studying. Social spaces are pretty cool and are cleaned regularly. There's a sky lounge on the top floor where you can go to read or just chill. Staff are all really approachable and maintenance problems are sorted quickly. Some kitchens are bigger than others so do a tour if you can

I didn’t intend on putting 5 stars for almost every single category but Gulson really is that good in my experience. I gave 4/5 for location simply for going back at night alone doesn't feel safe but that’s just Coventry. Uber is £5! You’d think for this rating it would be super expensive, but it’s so affordable and includes access to the social spaces, study rooms, gym, cinema room — there’s so much to do and events are always being held to bring everyone together. Bathrooms are cleaned to a great standard (though I wish the kitchen was included!) and the whole building is kept spotless. Cannot review without shouting out the staff! They are so friendly & kind and go above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of even after all i’ve put them through! From fixing my wardrobe after I stood on it (oops) to shipping my passport to me, they’ve been amazing. Staying here gives me so much peace of mind. I’m so happy to be staying for another year, I couldn’t imagine moving anywhere else!

Absolutely love staying here, there’s a great deal of security and staff are very friendly/easy to get along with. Everything is brand new and spotless, and the amenities are fantastic. TVs in our kitchen and common rooms with a free Amazon fire stick are also such a bonus! The location itself is quite rough though, not being far from the city centre and in a place with a lot of students, but staying in this accommodation is wonderful.

The staff here have made the experience and stay that much better. Super friendly, helpful and understanding toward issues I've had. However, I would like to personally mention Vicky as she has handled most of the problems I had. Vicky has always made time to listen and help me as best as she can, and has never made me feel like I was being a burden. She is friendly, attentive and empathetic and has really made my stay at Gulson Gardens that much better. I would also like to mention Ali on security. On my very first day he helped me move in and has always been friendly and helpful since, he also does his best to make sure we’re comfortable and any issues he can help with he does.

I was quite nervous moving back into student halls again after some bad experiences, but my time here has been amazing so far! Everyone who works here is super welcoming and friendly. They really put in an effort to grt to know us all and in arranging social events. Everything is so well maintained, extremely secure, and we have some lovely social spaces here too which means that those of us who want to sleep will get some rest, and anyone who wants to stay up late have a space to do that rather than disturbing flatmates. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay.
Cannot honestly recommend this place enough. This place has helped me in more ways than just providing accommodation, the social spaces are like no other. The sense of community and welcome you get here you won’t find anywhere else! 2 min walk to main campuses and the management team are so friendly and helpful. And the rooms are so nice!
I was quite apprehensive about moving out at first but the team here made everything easy for me. Gulson Gardens is now home. I love it here
