Where is Loughborough University Located?
Loughborough University is located in the middle of the UK in the county of Leicestershire. The campus is a fifteen-minute walk from the town centre – there’s also a shuttle bus that runs through campus and into the town centre at regular intervals. The larger cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby are nearby, as are tourist attractions the Peak District and Bradgate Park.

The graduate outcomes for Loughborough show that six months after leaving university, 88% of graduates are in work or further study. What is Loughborough like?
Loughborough town is a lively and friendly market town with plenty of things for students to do. It is home to an array of shops and restaurants, relaxed pubs and bars and some great entertainment facilities. Loughborough Students’ Union has it’s very own 4,000 capacity nightclub that has 3 different rooms all playing a variety of music several times a week, so you can have a great night without even leaving campus. Loughborough is also close to tourist attractions like Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill. Average student Living costs at Loughborough compare favourably with other universities in the UK.
Student Life
Consistently praised by students for its unbeatable community spirit, there are endless opportunities to get involved in at Loughborough Students' Union, owned and run entirely by students. We consider each application carefully and on an individual basis, trying to make decisions as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, as we receive a high number of applications, it may sometimes take a while for us to process a decision, so don’t panic if you don’t hear from us immediately. If you apply before the 29th January deadline, we will aim to have made a decision on your application by the end of March.
Our Finance BSc degree is a four year course, with the third year being a placement year. A placement year is a great way to get work experience and boost your employability for finding a role after you graduate.

Thank you for your question. Student safety is of the utmost importance to us. On campus we provide 24hr security and surveillance with security staff regularly patrolling campus and the halls off campus so that there is always someone to respond and deal with emergencies. Ensuring student safety in halls is also very important to us. Each hall has a team of wardens and sub-wardens to provide pastoral and welfare support for students in halls. Also, included in your cost of accommodation is insurance of your possessions in your room including electrical equipment, clothes and frozen food. There are also steps you can take as a student to increase your safety during your time with us.

Kind staff and fun people around creates a good environment for students to stay at
There are no microwaves in the library, which is massive and has four floors, my friends and I asked for some and they told us they couldn’t have any as they don’t have enough staff to clean it, honestly I don’t think this is a very good reason, even 1 or 2 microwaves won’t take long to clean and it would help lower cost of living so people can warm up their food in the library, instead of travelling to another building that has a microwave

My experience at Loughborough has been great, the facilities for chemistry are amazing and overall the quality of teaching has been good. The highlight for me was the careers support both both my placement year and finding a grad positions.

Loughborough University has given me the best opportunities I could ask for, as part of AU sport they really go above and beyond for every event. The gym facilities are perfect, the lecture hall and lecturers are amazing. The campus is so nice and welcoming. As a sociology student it has amazing opportunities and teachers. As well as being a member of Loughborough dance club and coaching too, I really enjoy each week here. I recommend coming to this university.

Loughborough is a great university with loads of opportunities for societies, jobs and sports. Although accommodation prices have increased a lot, the committees for the halls make it a fun and welcoming place to be, with new events and themes each year. My course module leaders are great and the lecturers support students with assignments as much as possible, even when there's 300 students doing the same module!

Really nice accommodation to live in, the rooms are great and the facilities are always tidy. The staff are all lovely and very helpful. Getting to campus is also easy, especially if you do engineering, I definitely prefer it to on-campus halls, plus it is much more affordable.

I really love Loughborough University. The campus is huge, with lots of facilities and equipment for both academics and sports. As a sports fan, I enjoy the variety of activities available, and it’s great to see so many people involved. The campus and the university has a very friendly feel to it. There's loads of support available to students for a range of issues/difficulties during your study. You may to go looking for them but they're there. My experience of the staff as been exilant over all (I study civil engineering). So willing to help and support or signpost you to where you can access more support. The lectures were always well organised with great hand-on activities arranged for the students as part of my course. There also so many opportunities and support for graduates with finding work or placement opportunities or further study or research conducted with the university.

Could use regular cleaning service
Since my first day moving in, Daniella, Dorota, and Amy have made me feel right at home which is something I value greatly given that I've moved across the world! They've been there to help me with anything I need, whether its accommodation focused or not. Elly has been phenomenal at maintaining the upkeep of my flats' common space and never fails to leave a smile on my face after our conversations. I'm very happy that I chose Study Inn!

Lots of clubs and lots of sports you can take part in at different levels. Lots of facilities and there are schemes such as future talent or GAT that can help with getting a placement (lots of support).

Over all love the campus and the sports facilities are amazing. Campus buses however are not to be counted on.

The campus is lovely and there are lots of grass pitches and outdoor space that I use a lot over the summer months. The students union provides a really good night out and I love that it is on campus so it is not far to get back to my accommodation afterwards. The gym facilities are really good as well with a gym at either end of campus so it is easy to get to one from lectures or accommodation. The pool, various basketball, tennis and badminton courts, and the rugby and football pitches are also open to have a social game with my flat which is good fun. Overall, the campus has a lovely feel to it and has everything I need within walking distance.

The WiFi is a bit spotty in some areas. The student union club is over priced and not student prices as tickets are too expensive and drinks could have better student deals.

For the design student, especially graphic design, it might be useful to learn to use online and offline print service '. Overall, strong extracurriclar activities, student union members are very active and enthusiastic, teachers and staffs are supportive. Looking forward to comeback for year 1 !!!!

Loughborough campus is amazing and has really good facilities especially for sports like the gym, however the location and town itself is underwhelming.

During my third year I will be completing a placement, the careers team provided excellent support throughout my application processes. Alongside this, the facilities across campus are of an excellent quality and are very modern.

The uni is a very nice place to be and is much nicer than being in town. It's very green and there's sports facilities everywhere you look.

It is difficult to join clubs when you hear the inductions are already over and some clubs only do socials with no cultural element behind them. It's difficult to get interested in the unions and careers events went neither truly meets your interests or course. Maybe I must wait for them to happen, but drinking and football are not my idea of fun (no offence).

Great uni, lots of services all close together on campus. Wifi overall good sometimes not great though.
That's good to know about our campus, thank you! We do have dedicated IT support for students and staff if you are experiencing connectivity issues (which can be due to many factors).

Campus facilities for sport and engineering are great. SU and societies are a bit hit and miss though.

Lovely campus with great accomodation and safe on campus with security always driving around.
