I have no complaints about the university at all. I would enjoy the music facilities to be a little bigger as it can be difficult to get access to pianos all the time. It is also hard to know when a room is occupied without knocking and risking ruining somebody's piece. However we are lucky to be provided with any free music facilities at all. It is a lovely university and I recommend it to anybody and everybody.

Where is Loughborough University Located?
Loughborough University is located in the middle of the UK in the county of Leicestershire. The campus is a fifteen-minute walk from the town centre – there’s also a shuttle bus that runs through campus and into the town centre at regular intervals. The larger cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby are nearby, as are tourist attractions the Peak District and Bradgate Park.

What is Loughborough like?
Loughborough town is a lively and friendly market town with plenty of things for students to do. It is home to an array of shops and restaurants, relaxed pubs and bars and some great entertainment facilities. Loughborough Students’ Union has it’s very own 4,000 capacity nightclub that has 3 different rooms all playing a variety of music several times a week, so you can have a great night without even leaving campus. Loughborough is also close to tourist attractions like Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill. Average student Living costs at Loughborough compare favourably with other universities in the UK.
Student Life
Consistently praised by students for its unbeatable community spirit, there are endless opportunities to get involved in at Loughborough Students' Union, owned and run entirely by students. We consider each application carefully and on an individual basis, trying to make decisions as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, as we receive a high number of applications, it may sometimes take a while for us to process a decision, so don’t panic if you don’t hear from us immediately. If you apply before the 29th January deadline, we will aim to have made a decision on your application by the end of March.
Our Finance BSc degree is a four year course, with the third year being a placement year. A placement year is a great way to get work experience and boost your employability for finding a role after you graduate.

Thank you for your question. Student safety is of the utmost importance to us. On campus we provide 24hr security and surveillance with security staff regularly patrolling campus and the halls off campus so that there is always someone to respond and deal with emergencies. Ensuring student safety in halls is also very important to us. Each hall has a team of wardens and sub-wardens to provide pastoral and welfare support for students in halls. Also, included in your cost of accommodation is insurance of your possessions in your room including electrical equipment, clothes and frozen food. There are also steps you can take as a student to increase your safety during your time with us.

Wifi in lecture halls is often very temperamental which can be disruptive to learning. The campus and sports facilities are incredible. Sports clubs are great I feel there could be a few more society options when comparing to other universities

Overall I have really enjoyed my experience. It's a small town, but has created a student atmosphere. It's good world class facilities, as well as being walkable and very accessible. Would definitely recommend Loughbourgh. Even if you prefer nights out and city life, Nottingham and Leicester are easily accesible.

The campus is very green and has state of the art sporting facilities and good engineering labs. The wifi is inconsistent at times. There are some great clubs such as canoe and engaging societies such as Darts and Cue Sports.

Great teaching staff who look out for their students. Large, clean campus about a 20-30 minute walk from town with lots of social spaces and rooms for activities. There is a large selection of student and athletic union clubs for you to choose from as well as opportunities for socials with your halls.

Amazing campus with amazing people
The gym and sports facilities are obviously amazing and it’s a great place to become healthy etc. great to go to the gym after lectures or do some sport to clear your head. The eduoram wifi can be really temperamental at busy times and always seems to break down as I’m in the middle of work. I haven’t really made use of the careers service but it doesn’t really seem to be advertised much and what they actually do for you. The students union is decent but it’s more the people that make it rather than the setting. The freshers closing party is class.
Quite a nice uni in terms of student experience
I have had a great experience at Loughborough. I enjoy using the facilities such as the gym library and other study spaces. My course and lecturers are super helpful and I enjoy using the student union facilities.

Loughborough University has overall a very nice campus.
A beautiful and (reasonably) well-maintained campus, Green spaces everywhere with a nice blend of modern and traditional architecture. Some issues had with WiFi and technology on campus but mostly on scarce occasion. Student Union and Hall Committees hold great events and the Careers service provides a multitude of opportunities.
University is fantastic however the intermittent wifi issues make it hard to study at times

All facilities are pretty modern, powerbase gym could have a few more single leg leg press machines, societies are hard to find on your own if your not told how to find them. Internet doesn’t always connect to my phone so am mostly using 4g

Loughborough University is a wonderful university for my studies and despite taking a course in arts, its reputation for being the best Sport University in the UK, inspired me to try all the self-defences classes it had to offer. I am now in the Muay Thai club and like all the other societies, people there are fun to be around!

Loughborough is a brilliant unk - ive beene here for 5 years and its enabled me to grow so much. I needed additional support due to a leaening difficulty and the university were supportive throughout. The societies are amazing with so many great opportunities both for your social life and for your CV! If youre wanting a close-knit community feel on a campus based uni, you'll love Loughborough
