I have no complaints about the university at all. I would enjoy the music facilities to be a little bigger as it can be difficult to get access to pianos all the time. It is also hard to know when a room is occupied without knocking and risking ruining somebody's piece. However we are lucky to be provided with any free music facilities at all. It is a lovely university and I recommend it to anybody and everybody.

Where is Loughborough University Located?
Loughborough University is located in the middle of the UK in the county of Leicestershire. The campus is a fifteen-minute walk from the town centre – there’s also a shuttle bus that runs through campus and into the town centre at regular intervals. The larger cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby are nearby, as are tourist attractions the Peak District and Bradgate Park.

What is Loughborough like?
Loughborough town is a lively and friendly market town with plenty of things for students to do. It is home to an array of shops and restaurants, relaxed pubs and bars and some great entertainment facilities. Loughborough Students’ Union has it’s very own 4,000 capacity nightclub that has 3 different rooms all playing a variety of music several times a week, so you can have a great night without even leaving campus. Loughborough is also close to tourist attractions like Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill. Average student Living costs at Loughborough compare favourably with other universities in the UK.
Student Life

We consider each application carefully and on an individual basis, trying to make decisions as quickly and efficiently as possible. However, as we receive a high number of applications, it may sometimes take a while for us to process a decision, so don’t panic if you don’t hear from us immediately. If you apply before the 29th January deadline, we will aim to have made a decision on your application by the end of March.
Our Finance BSc degree is a four year course, with the third year being a placement year. A placement year is a great way to get work experience and boost your employability for finding a role after you graduate.

Thank you for your question. Student safety is of the utmost importance to us. On campus we provide 24hr security and surveillance with security staff regularly patrolling campus and the halls off campus so that there is always someone to respond and deal with emergencies. Ensuring student safety in halls is also very important to us. Each hall has a team of wardens and sub-wardens to provide pastoral and welfare support for students in halls. Also, included in your cost of accommodation is insurance of your possessions in your room including electrical equipment, clothes and frozen food. There are also steps you can take as a student to increase your safety during your time with us.

Overall I have really enjoyed my experience. It's a small town, but has created a student atmosphere. It's good world class facilities, as well as being walkable and very accessible. Would definitely recommend Loughbourgh. Even if you prefer nights out and city life, Nottingham and Leicester are easily accesible.

The campus is very green and has state of the art sporting facilities and good engineering labs. The wifi is inconsistent at times. There are some great clubs such as canoe and engaging societies such as Darts and Cue Sports.

Great teaching staff who look out for their students. Large, clean campus about a 20-30 minute walk from town with lots of social spaces and rooms for activities. There is a large selection of student and athletic union clubs for you to choose from as well as opportunities for socials with your halls.

Amazing campus with amazing people
The gym and sports facilities are obviously amazing and it’s a great place to become healthy etc. great to go to the gym after lectures or do some sport to clear your head. The eduoram wifi can be really temperamental at busy times and always seems to break down as I’m in the middle of work. I haven’t really made use of the careers service but it doesn’t really seem to be advertised much and what they actually do for you. The students union is decent but it’s more the people that make it rather than the setting. The freshers closing party is class.
Quite a nice uni in terms of student experience
I have had a great experience at Loughborough. I enjoy using the facilities such as the gym library and other study spaces. My course and lecturers are super helpful and I enjoy using the student union facilities.

Loughborough University has overall a very nice campus.
A beautiful and (reasonably) well-maintained campus, Green spaces everywhere with a nice blend of modern and traditional architecture. Some issues had with WiFi and technology on campus but mostly on scarce occasion. Student Union and Hall Committees hold great events and the Careers service provides a multitude of opportunities.
University is fantastic however the intermittent wifi issues make it hard to study at times

Loughborough University is a wonderful university for my studies and despite taking a course in arts, its reputation for being the best Sport University in the UK, inspired me to try all the self-defences classes it had to offer. I am now in the Muay Thai club and like all the other societies, people there are fun to be around!
Loughborough is a brilliant unk - ive beene here for 5 years and its enabled me to grow so much. I needed additional support due to a leaening difficulty and the university were supportive throughout. The societies are amazing with so many great opportunities both for your social life and for your CV! If youre wanting a close-knit community feel on a campus based uni, you'll love Loughborough

The campus is great and lovely to walk around. There are plenty of clubs and societies for people to enjoy. I am in the video game and esports society and have made more friends than I have back home and love the fact many have similar interests to me.

My experience has mainly been shaped by halls and hall committees as that’s where majority of people are in their first year of study and it’s a great way to start. It makes it so much easier to meet people and then when you return also and help out in freshers you want to make sure you help first years settle in just how you wanted to be made comfortable and settle in in first year of uni. I found the experience of being on a hall committee that rewarding that I did it twice and stayed in halls for my 3 undergrad years. I am now back at Loughborough again doing a masters so I rate the uni that highly that it just couldn’t keep me away

There are wolrd class facilities across our campus that suit all aspects of student life and there are plenty of ways to get involved here, even if you're not a fan of sports. For example, there are plenty of societies at the Students' Union, and you are always welcome to start your own club, if you feel like there is something missing! Regarding the teaching, please do reach out to your assigned personal tutor, if there is anything you need to feedback on, or if you need any further support. There is also plenty of student support available from our student services team.

There are no microwaves in the library, which is massive and has four floors, my friends and I asked for some and they told us they couldn’t have any as they don’t have enough staff to clean it, honestly I don’t think this is a very good reason, even 1 or 2 microwaves won’t take long to clean and it would help lower cost of living so people can warm up their food in the library, instead of travelling to another building that has a microwave

Unfortunatley, we would not be able to add a microwave to the library at this time, however as you mentioned there are other facilites across campus that you can use. It is also advisable from student services that students remember to slot in regular breaks during revision for your wellbeing. Perhaps going to another building for lunch would be good opportunity to schedule in a study break. For those times when you do want to purchase food, there is the library cafe which is open to late evenings on Monday - Fridays.

My experience at Loughborough has been great, the facilities for chemistry are amazing and overall the quality of teaching has been good. The highlight for me was the careers support both both my placement year and finding a grad positions.

Loughborough University has given me the best opportunities I could ask for, as part of AU sport they really go above and beyond for every event. The gym facilities are perfect, the lecture hall and lecturers are amazing. The campus is so nice and welcoming. As a sociology student it has amazing opportunities and teachers. As well as being a member of Loughborough dance club and coaching too, I really enjoy each week here. I recommend coming to this university.

Loughborough is a great university with loads of opportunities for societies, jobs and sports. Although accommodation prices have increased a lot, the committees for the halls make it a fun and welcoming place to be, with new events and themes each year. My course module leaders are great and the lecturers support students with assignments as much as possible, even when there's 300 students doing the same module!

Really nice accommodation to live in, the rooms are great and the facilities are always tidy. The staff are all lovely and very helpful. Getting to campus is also easy, especially if you do engineering, I definitely prefer it to on-campus halls, plus it is much more affordable.

I really love Loughborough University. The campus is huge, with lots of facilities and equipment for both academics and sports. As a sports fan, I enjoy the variety of activities available, and it’s great to see so many people involved. The societies are also a lot of fun, with events where you can easily meet new people, whether they're in your course or share similar interests. The campus and the university has a very friendly feel to it. There's loads of support available to students for a range of issues/difficulties during your study. You may to go looking for them but they're there. My experience of the staff as been exilant over all (I study civil engineering). So willing to help and support or signpost you to where you can access more support. The lectures were always well organised with great hand-on activities arranged for the students as part of my course. There also so many opportunities and support for graduates with finding work or placement opportunities or further study or research conducted with the university.

Could use regular cleaning service
Since my first day moving in, Daniella, Dorota, and Amy have made me feel right at home which is something I value greatly given that I've moved across the world! They've been there to help me with anything I need, whether its accommodation focused or not. Elly has been phenomenal at maintaining the upkeep of my flats' common space and never fails to leave a smile on my face after our conversations. I'm very happy that I chose Study Inn!

Always something to do on campus and everything is close together, also not far from town so its easy to go out there
