Loughborough University has exceptional facilities scattered along a beautiful campus. The clubs and societies of the university are diverse and there is something for everyone.
Our huge campus is pretty special!!! Theer's a shuttle bus that goes round the campus for anyone who is averse to walking.
One of the best things that ever happened to me was starting my studies at Loughborough University. Lecturers are amazing and they give their best to make the courses interesting and informative. The facilities on campus are beyond every expectation I had. There are so many sports you can do there - from professional to casual activities. The societies' network is incredible. The Student Support Centre is great. No matter what issue you may have, the staff will do everything they can to help and support you. Definitely worth it!

Our campus does have great facilities and so much to do, you won't get bored.
Really good on the whole. Social life is exceptional. Hall of residences are big social hubs and have committees that run events all of the time. Lecturers on the whole are okay. Facilities are great.
Being in Halls of residence is so much fun and a great place to socalise and build your friendship circle.
The university runs many different fun activities for people to join in. Also there are a wide variety of societies which people can join!

Great all round university with industrial and company links with new opportunities becoming available to students
We have a fantastic careers network who support and guide students and hold one of the largest careers fairs in the UK.

I've really enjoyed my time at Loughborough. My course has challenged me whilst still being manageable. I've also been able to get involved in lots of different societies and clubs and have made lifelong friends here

Amazing lecturers and support staff who are incredibly committed to academic excellence and genuinely invested in their students. Student accommodation available for all budgets, located either on campus or very close to campus. Very attentive careers service encouraging all students to gain work experience through internships, placements, insight schemes, volunteering opportunities, etc. to ensure graduates have enough experience to successfully apply to graduate schemes and internships. Great opportunities to study abroad for a year or semester. Plenty of events, societies and clubs. Very welcoming student population and lovely campus. Also ideal for anyone concerned about living in a large university city - Loughborough is less intimidating than city universities but there are still plenty of things to do and restaurants to visit. Alternatively, Leicester and Nottingham are very close (short train journey or drive) for more restaurants/shops/activities.

Hi there, you can be sure we will work as hard as we can to open up the University and the facilities as soon as the Government allows. Bindu
My experience so far is relatively fine considering the lockdown and all the limited opportunities. The campus facilities are definitely great; the uni always invests into expanding and improving. There is a really wide selection of clubs and societies, and you can always start your own. I haven't been to the students union, but im sure it is also great because so many others are raving about it. The careers service is pretty helpful since there are always events oragnized. Even during these times, there are online mock assessment centres held, events for discovering careers, and you can always call/email them for an advice.

Loughborough has been really accommodating to all its students and provided a lot of support during this tough times. Although activities are limited they are doing as much as they can to give us a good student experience.

I loved every other aspect of my uni life here. Just to be clear, the night life was amazing and I really loved my course and the gym facilities were incredible, However, I had the unfortunate experience of having to eat in the Rutherford dining hall five days a week. If you are a vegetarian/vegan who knows how to cook... don't do this to yourself. I am not a fussy person at all, I grew up eating everything apart from onions and I become a vegetarian because of the environment. I just like to enjoy everything I eat. I'm pretty sure I ate a variation of carbs and beans every single day. There were some days when the food was so bland or so overcooked that I couldn't convince myself to eat it. None of the desserts or salad dressings were vegan so I ended up eating fruit and the only flapjack bar that was vegan. I was hungry ALL THE TIME. The choice was so limited that I made the decision to go back to being a vegetarian otherwise I thought I might actually suffer health consequences.

I know that the accommodation team regualrly ask for feedback in order to improve the food on offer and make changes where possible. Your comments have been fed back to the catering team and they will take them on board. I've also been informed that, following a review of dining hall menus, a number of changes have already been agreed for 2021, including an increase to the variety and number of plant based dishes available in the evenings. Not much I can say really, I am a 2020 fresher so everything is very restricted this year and quite frankly I don't feel like I'm getting the uni experience I wanted at all. Also, I think Loughborough as a town is very undesirable.
It has been such a difficult year and i'm sorry you haven't been able to experience the full university journey but I hope that we'll be able to make it up to you next year when, hopefully, all of the social activities will resume on campus.
Loughborough is an incredible school. I am glad I made this choice

I was at Loughborough for my B.Sc. and Ph.D. and subsequently as a Research Fellow from 1973 to 1986. My life at Loughborough still makes a lasting positive impression to my personal and professional development even to this day - now shortly before retirement. Thanks to all. BTW. I had to give a star for WiFi to submit this even though it was in that day very futuristic. We just used punched cards to use the main ICL1900 computer - and get the results earliest the next day.

The holt wasn’t my first choice but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the best choice I could have made. It has provided me with the greatest friends I could have asked for, and the best memories I could have had. It is close to campus near East park, 10 minutes from town and close to the local football clubs and sports grounds. Coming to the holt, you can’t go wrong.

Loughborough is a great university. Although is your not a stem student or a sports student your facilities are not as great. Loughborough does really acre for their students.

Loughborough University offers a great campus/facilities with goos student support and a great Students Union. There is a vast variety of clubs and societies, focused not only on sport, but I do think where sport is regarded, there needs to be a middle level for those better than IMS level, but not good enough for AU.

Lots of open space and everything is close by so very convenient. Really good support services for most areas of life. Union has quite a bit going on, could do with more varied events.

Its a good uni with good prospects. No real complaints great facilities with a good social environment for most. The new the stem lab great, as well as new research labs.

Its a good uni with good prospects. My actual degree was a bit poorly managed, but putting in the work you should be fine it just made life a bit more difficult. As for the actual uni no real complaints great facilities with good social environment.

Loughborough University is one of the best options in the UK and probably Europe to start studying a degree or taking part of a PhD. Facilities, gyms, schools, etc., are excellent, state-of-the-art equipment and great team.

My overall experience was okay as they had good lecturers. However, the University saw me as a money-making opportunity. Due to circumstances, I had to commute from Birmingham to uni every day. Only when I got there I hear they were charging hefty fees. So I decided to park outside campus away from the uni. One day when I visited my friend I got a warning from the unis or shall I say frauds that I parked in a no uni parking zone. However, I was visiting a friend to do some group studying. They let me off saying I shouldn't park there. But where else should I park when I visit my friend? Then halfway through the year, another friend said that he lives in a house just outside the campus and said that its a private road where I can park if I liked. So I did this and then the uni made me pay a fine of £50 even though and denied my appeal saying its because I missed a deadline. They didn't consider how busy I was commuting and managing work. They did this after charging me £14k tuition!!

We do have parking permits for students, that in the long run work out quite cost effective against parking in town or elsewhere. They are designed to help students like yourself get to campus with ease and we have dedicated student car parks you can use as well. Loughborough has been such a good experience so far. The one thing that really bothers me is that teaching and examinations is done it cheapest possible ways. Most of my modules have just been seminars and then one exam. Usually no coursework, labs, tutorials or case studies.

Loughborough University is honestly a University like no other. It is both academically strong and top of the sporting world. It’s never been easier to balance my studies and training. And for those who don’t do sport, don’t fear! Loughborough is a Top 10 University in every league table for its incredible Campus, Teaching, Career opportunities and general student life. Being on campus feels like you’re part of a big family and the town is safe too!

I can't fault my experience at Loughborough. Facilities are constantly being built or renovated to improve our learning experience! There are so many things to get involved in outside of just sport, but the sport is also great. I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had whilst studying here and the experiences I have gained through completing a placement year as well as being part of a sports club. I now look back at when I applied to uni and can't believe I ever considered anywhere else.

I didn't even hesitate giving 5 stars across the board for Loughborough University and can honestly say I've had the best 4 years of my life studying here. I felt it excelled in every aspect of university life with a thriving Student Union, world class sporting facilities and so many career opportunities, I feel Loughborough stands a league above the rest. Choosing to study at Loughborough will be the best decision you'll ever make.

Choosing Loughborough was the best decision I ever made! I was heavily involved with a sports club, which added to my experience ten-fold, giving me awesome opportunities to compete. I've come away with life long friends from this club (and Loughborough in general) and our alumni regularly come back to visit, which I think says a lot. Being in this club allowed me to be on committee, which grew my employment chances ten-fold, not just through the skills I learnt (which were related to my course) but because Loughborough are brilliant at recognising the hard work of their student volunteers by giving out awards, which boosted my CV. Sport and the night life gave me the ability to balance working hard with playing hard. Ultimately, Loughborough invests in its people and have now made me a full-time employee in a Marketing role within sport, which shows you the opportunities available both as a student and alumni of Loughborough.

Lovely place, find my course is unorganised and possessed rude and unhelpful lecturers. Also the History course was more politics and IR than history at times.
