Studying at Loughborough has so far been a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere at the University is very friendly with both staff and students. The modules taught are very well considered for each degree and the social life is also great with many clubs and societies.
Great campus life. Should have a student discount for buses to town.
Love this university! Super great place to live in too.
Great university, great experience, good facilities
I've been at Loughborough University since 2006, almost 15 years, through undergraduate, PhD and postdoc. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. The campus is beautiful, everything is walking distance.
As a first year student this year was both weird in the sense of covid ruining our chances to experience to them fullest what the night life is in loughborough however the sport facilities, campus and the overall loughborough community made me really enjoy my year.
It’s the best student experience you can get. Everything is tailored to enjoyment whether the sports or the nights out. Also the best VC in the country.
Great experience as a 1st year student and looking forward to using more of the great facilities the university has to offer next year!
I wasn’t able to use the campus facilities and student union much due to COVID however whenever I did use them I did feel satisfied. The clubs and societies available at Loughborough are varied and are accommodating.
By far my favourite university in UK out of the 20 universities I visited! The community is so friendly and welcoming and the facilities are insane!

Bakewell is nice accommodation with lots of hall activities. It’s very hall community focused. Good campus and bus around campus. Not too far from town with enough student things to do and easy train to Nottingham or Leicester for more nightlife.
Loughborough Uni has a great social scene and social facilities. The teaching on the most part is pretty good, although communication to certain lecturers can be difficult/ inconsistent. Also, there should be more provision of department sport

A fantastic campus and excellent teaching, but the town is small so you have to be prepared for that.

I spent a whole year extra retaking my a levels just to get into Loughborough Uni and it did not disappoint. I’ve had so much fun here and the campus is beautiful with great facilities!

Loughborough University has a diverse community of students and teachers which makes your experience there very interesting, educational and open! The facilities are various and high quality. The university also helps a lot with adapting or preparing for the real world!
Loughborough is the best University and you really feel like a big family ( I know its cheesy) but the atmosphere is great especially if you like sports and even if you don't there so much outside space to drink or party or chill around campus

I had an amazing First Year at Loughborough and have met some amazing friends that I am living with next year. The online learning provided an interesting challenge but I believe that Loughborough approached it in the best way possible.
I came to loughborough thinking the nightlife and socials would be terrible, but it proved me wrong. The student union always has things going on and the interior is so spectacular as if it was some expensive place in London. Accomodation is very very well priced and just overall there is lots to do. Also in terms of jobs, whenever looking for jobs I get such positive feedback through the reputation of Loughborough especially in the sports industry

During my first year (2019) my student experience was excellent, vibrant, supportive, everything you would want from a university experience. Covid times were less so and I feel like most universities, lboro let their students down a little. Overall still a positive time.
Great uni, great facilities, great lectures. Also the union had societies for everyone and the support for sports is amazing.
Such a great community feel, all staff are so kind, helpful and supportive. The campus provides facilities for anything us students would need!

Excellent sports and academic facilities, great working environment, the University has done well dealing with covid for students living in halls
Very good accommodation in a good place on campus. The catered food could improve but it has improved since Easter, compared to the beginning of the year. Good variety of clubs and societies available. The wifi was often intermittent especially since this year the majority of courses were taught online so everyone on campus in halls were using the wifi consistently throughout the day.
Loughborough is such an insanely good uni. It does so much for its students and handled the pandemic year so well, allowing (& even encouraging) students to come back to campus, opening up the union for socially distanced events as soon as they could & trying to accommodate in person teaching wherever available. People say “lboro family” for a reason
The most supportive, friendly and student focused environment. Engaging lectures, inspiring students and insane opportunities. I really can’t fault lboro’s handling of the pandemic - refunded all accommodation fees for students that wanted to stay home, provided as many in person lectures as they possibly could, provided freshly cooked meals and a laundry service for isolating students. By far the only university that is worth the £9k tuition fees!
This year has been hard with all the restrictions, but it shouldn't take away from how students in Halls were treated. Imho, it was closer to younger years at a boarding school than an adult renting a room and studying their degree with the amount of restrictions at halls.

Bar covid, It’s been great so far. The one phrase I would use is “bubbled community”
I couldn't recommend Loughborough University more, it was my dream uni and it hasn't disappointed. Halls are brilliant, the community in each hall is amazing, you really do become a little family. I stayed in halls for 2 years, which was such a great decision but the choices in town are also great! The student support has been brilliant and the university have been so accommodating with my personal circumstances! I was apprehensive coming to Loughborough as im not massively into sports, but love watching them, but I haven't found that an issue at all! My lifestyle is sport for complete beginners and is completely free! Honestly couldn't recommend more! Great course, great people, great university!
Think they’ve handled covid really well and can’t wait to complete next year with no restrictions so I can experience the full Loughborough Union experience

Lovely family feel of community on campus. Opportunities for every type of student. A very open and encouraging environment for learning and self development. Top Tip: Make sure to choose your accommodation ASAP, self-catered ensuite is the most popular and can go within minutes!

Loughborough university is dedicated to making the student experience perfect for everybody and this can be seen.
The facilities available to students on campus create a great interactive learning environment, even with social distancing the university was able to provide good practical experiences when possible.
The sports clubs, sports facilities and the STEM lab are the best thing about the university. They offer you so many opportunities to try out new sports and join clubs. It’s great.
Good facilities and the students are friendly… however there is a lack of support and care for students who are struggling due to the time that we live in.

Loughborough creates the perfect balance between work and rest. It allows for you to not only get a good degree at a top10 university but also explore and develop extra-curriculars which are just as important as the degree.
Loved it my first 2 years (2017-2019) then during COVID during 2020-2021 year, absolutely awful, given less academic help because “we should be used to it by now”, I’d been on placement so struggled and also just because it wasn’t such a shock didn’t mean it was normal. Mental health services backed up for months

As someone who isn’t much of a party goer or drinker or late night owl- I was surprised to find that I could still have so much fun with people just like me. A diverse and colourful institution.
Amazing sports facilities and opportunities, allowing for you to meet loads of new people. Hall events frequently happening means you and your flat can interact with other halls as well. The union has great clubbing. Beautiful campus and all around facilities too
An amazing uni all round. Great culture in halls and across campus as a whole. Even in the difficult circumstances of COVID, the uni put on events and clubs where possible making me feel like I still received a great uni experience. The uni were easy to contact when support was needed on liaison issues I had making me feel safe and comfortable in the environment. Loughborough kept some in person teaching when other universities simply gave up, which helped give me a sense of belonging to the uni despite the circumstances. Best choice I have ever made was choosing Loughborough university.
My first year at Loughborough was good. I was happy to meet new people through clubs, accommodation and my course. Hopefully next year there will be even more opportunities to get out and properly experience student life, but Loughborough really put a lot of effort in to support their students through Covid-19 challenges.

The university gives such a campus feel, and I’m glad I chose to go here instead of a more city-based university, as I don’t feel like I would’ve had the same experience.
Pretty fun, but COVID was pretty difficult since i had to spend most of my time away from campus since my lectures were online. Hopefully we will be able to take full advantage of campus facilities and the student union once universities resume.

Great campus facilities - not too far away everything is in walking distance Only a few clubs but they’re great, also close to other cities with clubs Union is 10/10 Wifi is great however had issue where it would cut out for a minute a few times a week

Hard to say on most aspects of uni this year due to covid but have enjoyed what I can
Great university to go to, the campus is amazing with state of the art facilities, and has some of the highest rating student satisfaction scores in the country. Alongside this the students Union is great for a night out with 3 different built in clubs, a pub and restaurants and shops for the day. Course wise, I do industrial design and the staff are great and are specialists in the subject area, with all of them having spent time in industry. Each department building also has high quality equipment tailored to helping you on your course.
A decent year overall, especially given the circumstances with Covid.

It is a very rare experience to come to Loughborough University to study during the epidemic. Thank you very much for the proper arrangement of the school during the epidemic. Compared with many universities that cancel offline courses, Loughborough University allows me to arrange experiments well. This Makes me very happy

The Loughborough University is good for courses but the free sport activities (extra curriculum) isn’t enough.
