Kingfisher Halls in Loughborough has been a very comfortable living arrangement. The bedroom is on the larger size for student accommodation, with a large desk and large wardrobe, as well as a clever room arrangement. It comes equipped with a TV that you can watch from bed which is a nice extra. The ensuite is a good size and has an inbuilt shower with good pressure. The kitchen is large and modern, and a cleaner polishes over surfaces once a week helping to keep it nice and clean. There are 2 ovens and hobs, and plenty of fridge and cupboard space so running out is never a worry. The washer and dryer facilities are good, and in a convenient location for use. The common room is comfortable and gives a good amount of space for social activities. It also has a rack for parcels to arrive which can be collected from at your convenience. The accommodation manager Matthew is very attentive and aided me well with any queries or issues that I had.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Great accommodation with good amenities. Cleaning of common part areas could be improved. Also the laundry room tends to be poorly maintained, with the laundry machines breaking consistently. Management is very helpful with queries and items, which is always a good sign. Overall I would recommend this accomodation
Lovely facilities, en-suite which isn’t very common in other student accommodation. Lovely common room area with a pool table and TV to use. No more than 15 minute walk to town or to campus so perfect location, and out of the risk of the student triangle. Laundry room and on-site gym free to use to great value for money as you’re not only getting the room.
Has a good garden and decently sized rooms, it is halfway to university and town so great location.
Very good value for money I believe, with bills included as well as maintenance provided. Everyone keeps themselves to themselves, however, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Great facilities that everyone can use, Matt the warden is very helpful and I've met some great people in my first year and definitely would recommend staying here
Kingfisher Halls is a brilliant accommodation choice, I could not recommend it enough! My experience has been very positive here - the rooms are very spacious, the facilities are very clean and the management is extremely efficient.
The flat quality in the B Halls was amazing. The student social areas were really good with massive TV’s, a jacuzzi, a gym and a pool table!! The caretakers and managers were really welcoming for the 2 years I was there!
The worst accommodation and manager. My expensive clothes and stuff have been stolen but the manager avoided to take his responsibility even though he left the door opened for a few days. The manager asked me to move another room where they supplied due to their re-modelling the house. Then I and the manager agreed that I can leave my stuff in my room and we set the date when I would take my stuff back. BUT, the manager opened the door of my room and left the door opened for a few days. My expensive clothes and stuff (valuable more than 2000 pounds) have been stolen. I complained about the theft to the manager but he only said "I CAN'T HELP YOU". He didn't even apolosise about that. I also emailed the Student Beehive but I couldn't get any help. I believe the manager and Student Beehive never help students staying in their accommodation when students meet problems.
