Amazing location from onyx - very convenient
Love the location easy and convenient from onyx
Good university, nice location near the city centre.
The student's union over the past 4 years has gone from supporting students and collaborating with clubs and socities, to ticking boxes to win awards. The students are no longer a priority for ASU...
Very welcoming and very easy to communicate with
I've enjoyed my time at Aston very much so. However, I didn't find the support to be of much use, I don't think I learnt much in my lectures and the students union are as useful as a chocolate toothrbush.
Good uni. Nice staff. Nice campus
Aston was a fantastic experience for me. I was well-cared for, and teachers, students, and others were accommodating. I had a great time at Aston
Amazing university. Amazing staff. Nice people. Amazing teachers. Perfect place
Professional staff with good teaching facilities.
Aston University has simply gone downhill since I started in 2018. The care about students was (and continues to be) non-existent during the pandemic and subsequent months. Student satisfaction is not really desired, they simply want your money.
Perfect, place for course studies.
Not much to complain about the University, very diverse, nice looking. Lecturers willing to help you, generally good community of students
Aston was an excellent experience for me. Coming from a foreign country, I got well-taken care of, and teachers, students, etc., are accommodating. The school has a lot of fun societies, I really enjoyed my time at Aston
very nice place and nice staff in the old fire station. It's very convenient for the students studying in Aston University
Love the uni and it's location right in the city
ACM - this university campus is quite small in Birmingham however the facilities are quality. The studios are packed with professional equipment for students to use however with COVID going on during lockdown the online classes did not meet expectations.
Very difficult with the pandemic
BSc Biological sciences student here. The teaching has been amazing and the teachers are truly seasoned professionals (as expected). Teachers have always offered their time to help students who do not understand the content. In my opinion, lab practicals are the most fun part of the course and the teachers are always helping to develop our expertise and lab skills. The careers team are always pushing us to apply for placements, supporting us in every way: sessions dedicated to applying for placement roles(e.g. how to write CV, how to write cover letters, how to do well in interviews), face to face talks if you wish, sending emails that show what placements are available that you are interested in etc. There are lots of learning spaces such as the library, random learning spots on every floor (like small homebases), IT rooms available to everyone, and more. For the muslims, the students union building has ablution and praying areas for both men and women.
Good university. The environment is welcoming and the students are helpful. The content of work is challenging which I find obviously good as that’s what you want.
good uni but there is some problems with the staff
Studied PhD there. Had a good professional development a
A good university I would say. It’s really good for business and management courses. I haven’t availed their careers service much yet so I haven’t reviewed accurately.
Amazing university!! I’ve had so many opportunities to meet new people and I’m still meeting them in my second year of uni. When you need help from the university whether it’s from the student union or the library there is always someone available.
I am very impressed with Aston University - although it is quite a small campus, it is very friendly and the support you receive from anyone, is one of the best! From academic support to career and visa advice - beyond great. And the people are very friendly - cannot say that enough. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the clubs and societies and student union - because of the pandemic.
It’s been great, really enjoyed myself. Facilities e has been locked off but ite going well!
Wifi is terrible but the socialising scene is good
Great everything. Bad WiFi. Don’t like it.
Good university, wokldnt go anywhere else
Nice cosy campus, staff is helpful
Its good university, good department, nice and helpful teachers
Om hand if needed, can always chat to the student services
Amazing absolutely love the place
I'm very proud to attend Aston University. Their careers team were absolutely brilliant, they really do work so hard to ensure everyone has the best chance at securing a placement/graduate job! Aston's library is beautiful, the modules are interesting and I love studying there!
Did my MSc there and now doing my PhD. Great Uni
Nice friendly, close to city which is convenient
Amazing time here, the staff have made it really special. Little shout out to izaaq and Talisa!
Great friendly staff good experience. Shoutout izaac and talisa
Uni was fun, would come for that tbh
Good support from lecturers and practitioners
Aston University is a relatively good university it offers many different programs of study and offers professional career development. The university has many different clubs and societies to appeal to your interest. As well as a gym facility including swimming pool and facilities for many different sports to take part in. it is located reasonably close to local shopping areas such as bullring mall and other tourist areas.
As an international medical student the uni does not provide any financial support
The university is close to my accommodation.
Brilliant education, lovely campus
Amazing university to attend highly recommended
My time at Aston University overall was a good experience as there are many different societies to join. The students union is very helpful and are a good representation.
OLD FIRE STATION, DONT GO! Honestly, I'm genuinely telling you guys thinking about booking here to stop while you can. My boyfriend and I started the booking process earlier this year unfortunately and the staff have been disgusting. The staff have manipulated us by not giving us the full information of what we were getting into and we are ending up having to pay 5 grand more than what was agreed. I am pretty broke so I can't afford this and will have to think about changing my course to a different location. They mislead us, gave us vague information, didn't communicate the terms and essentially scammed us. Genuinely from my heart, this company has caused both our families so much stress, they only care about the money, they have not apologised once and they have been extremely unethical. You honestly don't want anything to do with this place because they took advantage of us and probably will to you. They don't care about you, they only care about the money.
Great uni. Lecturers always helpful. Very good career service for finding placements
brill uni, love the course im on, cant moan
Great university in terms of social life and facilities. There are a lot of different things you can do outside of your studies. Can't say the same about studies. Often it feels that nobody pays attention to students' issues with studies. Some modules have the same content but just different name and delivery. The careers services are amazing. Very helpful, running multiple events and workshops during the term time.
Aston is a great place to learn and have fun. Amazing teacher and people to be around.
Good university would recommend will have a great time here
Felt like they held the whole covid situation pretty well
Good uni, support could have been better in the pandemic.
Great university, exceeded my expectations. It could do with more library space/updated main building however I love the intimacy of campus and that everything is so close!
Hasn’t been so supportive during this time
enjoy my course, lots to do, good library facilities and on campus facilities
Lots of great support from everyone around. The facilities are brilliant with modern technology and aesthetics. It's a nice environment to study in and is mostly clean. Internet is very good and easy to access.
Excellent society’s and student union. More assistance required for careers
Good university,would go there again
Good facilities and teaching areas
Aston University is a very friendly and warming university. Staff and Students are great.
Facilities on campus are great and easy to use and get too, There is a lot of different study spaces on campus which is also great
Relatively small campus but good location
Aston is a very diverse university, it has such a vast support system for students.
The new buildings are good and modern looking
Aston has been a great experience im in my final year and have enjoyed it every part of it, its in a great city for students
Good university for Business courses, ideal location to the city centre!
Aston is an excellent learning environment both remotely and on campus
Great university, it’s a shame it’s my day year
Great lecturers and a real care for students!
Really diverse and inclusive campus! Staff are great
Nice University, good social life
It is pretty nice uni to be in, but however, since anyone can walk in to campus it makes it really dangerous
Its a nice university though BCU is across the road!
Great location, staff are also great and attentive, especially Jasmin. Would recommend this accommodation. Also very close to the city center
Great uni. Very hands on and helpful
I came to Aston through clearing after getting rejected by what I thought was my dream university (UoM). Honestly I think its the best thing that could have ever happened to me for my future career - the career focus here is AMAZING! You get constant help with your CV and applications, all of the staff know what they're doing.
decent uni, im just trying to write a review for the accommodation and its making me do this
The campus itself is very green which is refreshing in such a dense city like Birmingham. The SU is brand new and looks nice but seems more like a sixth-form centre and quite boring inside which is a shame. The lecturers at Aston were fantastic, they were all very friendly and approachable and were clear professionals. They answered emails fairly quickly and were thorough in their support (I was on a foundation year so this was very important!). The facilities are outdated to say the least, they really need to invest some serious money into expanding the campus. The Main Building has everything stuffed into it and doesn't feel like its worth the money you pay. Granted, the lecture theatres are modern and clean. However engineering students in particular may want to look elsewhere as you might be disappointed in what you find here. Even BCU across the green has a bunch of construction work going on as they continuously expand their campus, whilst Aston stays exactly the same.
A good University with good support structures
Great uni experience but please don't study pharmacy, not at Aston, not anywhere. Study something else.
Aston University is a great experience with a modern and fun campus in the centre of the city. The social spaces are everywhere and this results in ina bustling university with a fun atmosphere. I personally don't have complaints with my course or the lecturers and I felt that I've gained a lot through the experience.
Very good overall. No other comments
In light of the horrific incident in the US of the killing of an unarmed Black man by a white police officer, we here in the UK are beginning a discourse around racism. Racism is not limited to the US it happens in the UK but often it is far more subtle and less overt than in the US. I studied at Aston and during my time I was the victim of such subtle racist abuse on multiple occasion by white students and the white leadership. I would strongly urge anyone considering studying at Aston University to rethink this. If you like me are allocated into a group of white counterparts and are the only ethnic minority and they decide to deduct your contribution marks then there is nothing you can do. The lecturers and the leadership will take the side of the white students. Even if you show them that the claims against you are untrue. If you are an ethnic minority please consider another university, not a university that turns a blind eye to racism.
I believe it is the best choice I could have made! The staff is very welcoming and helful, and the quality of teaching exceeds expectations
good university. broad range of activities to choose.
The campus is very clean and nice to look at. Student union is also very helpful
Love studying here, although I sometimes can't find anywhere to sit in the library but there are plenty of desk spaces in the university building. Social aspects are great too and the staff really encourage you to take up a placement which can boost your employability.
Great university in a great location
Decent Uni, love being in Birmingham.
GOOD ITS A NICE PLACE TO STUDY
I am currently halfway through my first year studying computer science and I have to say I have a mixed view of Aston University. the campus is small but really comes alive when it' warm with its green areas and wildlife and there's a lot of people outside and places to sit with events happening all the time. The main downside with the campus is the main building which is where 90% of your lectures and tutorials will take place. Its really outdated and miserable from the outside and puts you in a depressing mood. the interior of the main building is up to standard but nothing spectacular you get plenty of opportunities for careers but this does not mean they will land in your lap you do actually have to keep your eyes open and follow up on the opportunities that they offer through email The teaching is a joke sometimes a lot of lecturers don't communicate well with students.they also don't explain half the stuff they go through and for me, they go through material painfully slow.
Can't fault Aston University at all. Glad I made the decision to enroll here.
Not a very diverse uni but it’s great for business and engineering courses. Lecturers are very helpful and happy to help always. The new SU is a little underwhelming though
Good university, enjoyable and clean.
Aston is lovely, the campus is small and close. Everyone is really nice
Not bad uni, pretty good for maths and business
The experience at the university is amazing so far !
