Onyx is a great accommodation for anyone who likes socialising. The accommodation holds events for students to meet new people and make friends, as well as the best communal area to socialise and chill indoors. You get a lot for the price you’re paying, and everything is close to you and in walking distance. The staff at onyx are so kind and helpful, they remember names and faces and always do their best to help aswell as the security team. I’ve come back to onyx for my final year and it’s a really good decision, I enjoy living here a lot!
I have only stayed here for one day so I haven't explored all the facilities yet.
Aston is the best University because of it's location and also the student union
I dropped out of Aston halfway through year to study at BCU instead. Didn’t really find many friends and half the lectures were online which made it feel like there was no point in moving to Birmingham for uni. There were so many people on the course and in lecture halls that it was hard to contribute or interact during.
Great university for studying and provides a good environment for students

Super close to the city centre. Loads of good study spaces and things to do.
Better internet. More individual building use. Better incentives to join clubs and events
Aston University is a reputable institution that focuses on prioritising your employability, they are not a Russell Group University but that is not everything! Aston University's prestige lies in its ability to get you employed in a sector and job you're happy with

Aston is a small-scale university. It's perfect if you don't want to get lost in the crowd. There is plenty of support on offer for students and the lecturers are always happy to take on feedback to improve the way they teach you.
Best University if wanna study in Birmingham.

Aston is a great University, there’s many events and activities posted around so that one can increase their social circle and just have general fun. The facilities in the school are also great and there’s many study spaces that are open 24/7 which is quite handy.
I'm liking the environment but the study material rid not helping me to understand the module. Guidance required and adaptation is very challenging!

The student's union over the past 4 years has gone from supporting students and collaborating with clubs and socities, to ticking boxes to win awards. The students are no longer a priority for ASU...
Very welcoming and very easy to communicate with
I've enjoyed my time at Aston very much so. However, I didn't find the support to be of much use, I don't think I learnt much in my lectures and the students union are as useful as a chocolate toothrbush.

Professional staff with good teaching facilities.
Aston University has simply gone downhill since I started in 2018. The care about students was (and continues to be) non-existent during the pandemic and subsequent months. Student satisfaction is not really desired, they simply want your money.

Aston was an excellent experience for me. Coming from a foreign country, I got well-taken care of, and teachers, students, etc., are accommodating. The school has a lot of fun societies, I really enjoyed my time at Aston

Love the uni and it's location right in the city
ACM - this university campus is quite small in Birmingham however the facilities are quality. The studios are packed with professional equipment for students to use however with COVID going on during lockdown the online classes did not meet expectations.
Very difficult with the pandemic
BSc Biological sciences student here. The teaching has been amazing and the teachers are truly seasoned professionals (as expected). Teachers have always offered their time to help students who do not understand the content. In my opinion, lab practicals are the most fun part of the course and the teachers are always helping to develop our expertise and lab skills. The careers team are always pushing us to apply for placements, supporting us in every way: sessions dedicated to applying for placement roles(e.g. how to write CV, how to write cover letters, how to do well in interviews), face to face talks if you wish, sending emails that show what placements are available that you are interested in etc. There are lots of learning spaces such as the library, random learning spots on every floor (like small homebases), IT rooms available to everyone, and more. For the muslims, the students union building has ablution and praying areas for both men and women.
Good university. The environment is welcoming and the students are helpful. The content of work is challenging which I find obviously good as that’s what you want.
