It's really good, you feel very welcome
Great university for someone who just started
Good uni the eduction is good and the school system works
i have met some fantastic people and gotten some lovely independence :>
Esports society should get a esports centre like Warwick
The timetable is well set out and the tutors are helpful for enquiries
As I previously stated it has been so far an amazing experience
Good university highly recommend uni of Portsmouth
I’ve had a great time at the university of Portsmouth so far!
There is a wide range of great facilities and opportunities for everyone.
Everything is exceptionally close and easily accessible
Not the best nightlife but a good uni overall.
Actually incredible, considering how nervous I was about it.
Lovely uni, I love the campus and people
It is a lovely and welcoming university
Good uni. Great campus. Great location.
Not immediately.obvious what resources there are to help but it works out eventually
Good teaching and great experience so far
Nice campus with a newly built modern leasiure centre. Everywhere is easy to reach and within walking distance
All staff are lovely and welcoming and very approachable
Love it it is so good , great , really good
Really helpful staff, Jake and Hannah especially made moving in really easy and made moving in and settling in so good. And stress free
Great university and really enjoying it especially the sports facilities
The University is located in the city centre so there is so much to do. The beach at Southsea is a lovely place to visit with friend and has a beautiful view. The university itself is well structured. With university buildings very close to eachother so it's much easier to find. The professor are very friendly and helpful. The support at the university itself is excellent with staff being available throughout the day to help with students need.
good freshers and very nice community
not a lot to say, its exactly the kind of place i would want to spend my uni years in, and recommend for everyone else
I really loved the help that I got here and all the freshers events that took place.
Very good so far, lots of events on. Very sociable uni. Everything is very close together.
very nice area with lots of nice people
Friendly people and environment, a lovely place for all the students)
Overall nice experience can’t say much because 2 of my years were during covid but in terms of pharmacy most of the lecturers and staff were very helpful one thing I would advise is make sure u have a good tutor
Very welcoming environment and great helpful team.
It was okay. Alvars delivered excellent customer service
The facilities provided are good
Good lecturers, building are easy to get to.
I had enjoyed the experience here and like to return for more
Really happy with everything. Career service and job search options could be better.
Went down hill after covid standards dropped are never got back up
It’s a good university for students
Comfortable location, appropriated equipment support for student
The school as a whole is modern and well-equipped. The library is open 24 hours, which I am very happy about.
The university experience was good
Solid uni, nothing amazing education wise but social side carries it.
Excellent place to study. Enjoyed every minute of my time here and am sad to leave
The University of Portsmouth is an excellent choice for University life, and expertise from lecturers.
The people are the highlight of the university, the lecturers and students and staff are all so welcoming and friendly and there’s rarely any problems, loads of places to eat and explore. W city
Friendly lecturers who always want the best for you.
Pretty middling university, but got what I signed up for
The student union is reasonably dormant and do not advertise enough however the calibre of most staff is impressive. Staff are very helpful and knowledgable however the social aspect is questionable
I love uni here the wifi is always good, loads of Places to study
It works, not much to right home about
Good experience so far! City is not the best.
Loved it, there seems to be a lot of support
For my course of economics the facilities and level of education was excellent with lecturers always being easy to reach and will happily make the time and effort in supporting you any way they can. It was obvious they had a great understanding in what they were teaching with a lot of preparation into the lectures and seminars
Great campus, only used 3 out of the many buildings in my 1st year. All well managed. Wifi is generally alright worked at the start of the year on my phone and laptop but by christmas nothing would connect.
Portsmouth uni is a friendly and social uni. All the lecturers are happy to help and go above and beyond for the students. Other facilities such as the well-being service do take a while to process and respond to student but the help that they provide is good
An amazing university with amazing staff that will always go above and beyond to help you when they can!
It is fine but i cannot accurately review as i do not engage with most of the aforementioned acrivities
Great experience, especially the academic staff!
The University of Portsmouth provides an excellent teaching experience. The on-campus facilities are great and there is a bus running on a weekly basis for all students.
I am doing an online degree with this organisation and they are useless, 0 is all the place is worth. Terrible teaching, poor use of IT and, well, just s*** - avoid.
My experience with the University is positive throughout.
The facilities were really good, and the main campus area was generally cosy and atmospheric. It came across a uni popular with extroverts - people were often partying, but there was defintely room for introverted types. I found the website moodle really annoying and badly formatted, to the point that it affected my capability to complete tasks, but this could be different now. Way too much going on on a page, too many options that sound the same, certain items in certain folders with not much sense of order. Seriously grating. I loved the diversity of my modules, but would have wanted to know a bit more on them before choosing. I thought the lecturers were good/ decent, but sometimes lacked originality and a desire to listen to new ideas/ student voices and experiences. I often felt encouraged to write about what everyone else was writing about. New avenues were feared, in my experience, and too much of an elitist attitude of "this is how we've always done it" as a way to decline you
Studied photography for nearly 5 years at UOP on and off. Decided to quit as the “teaching” on the course is shockingly poor, especially when you’re paying £9250/year! The technicians on the other hand are incredible. All I can recommend is doing your research before you decide to apply here.
Academic side of things it’s good and uni has good facilities but the town is a bit of a sh*t hole honestly, lots of crackheads and crime. There’s also not thatttt much stuff to do compared to other big cities
The university itself is very good. On campus the WiFi and very good however with it being a city university you may get a weak WiFi signal whilst walking about which could be annoying as you are so far away it is barely a connection. There are loads of clubs and societies and the teaching and support in the science and heath faculty is outstanding. I love the university it’s just a shame that the halls I am living in are isolating and poor (Harry Law Halls)
I enjoy university and love the stuff around lectures
My course and its resources and help from lecturers and other forms of help are fantastic, the eduroam WiFi that I have to use for halls, however, is shocking - there are plenty of clubs and societies, though the student union recently has become less and less prominent in doing really anything
Highly recommend Portsmouth. Lovely city to live in a high standard of teaching
good university, the student union is lacking but the library and new gym are very impressive
I’ve loved my course since I got here
It was amazing great facilities I definitely recommend
I haven’t started my course yet but the induction process is very good.
University of Portsmouth has great facilities to use and easy to navigate your way around the city and most things are close to eachother including the sea !!!
The University is multicultural and generally friendly to BAME. There is a huge range of things to do and the location is great, as Portsmouth is not too big nor too small of a city. London is close; thus all the airports for travelling.
Living at this accommodation has been a great experience. I stayed for exactly three years and have nothing but good things to say. Location wise, it is probably the most suitable for students as it is near to almost everything! Lovely and very helpful staff, who are willing to accommodate your needs whenever. Spacious common areas such as study and social places where you can interact with neighbours and make friends for life - as it is my case! Overall, in my experience, this has been the best accommodation choice by far. Had I lived elsewhere, my university years wouldn't have been the same! - Gabriela Perez I.
I just finished my first year. It was an ok experience. I do think they give too much work and that the teachers don’t pay enough attention to their students but it fine
So far so good.. I haven’t had a negative experience yet regarding the University itself
Hack wasn't helpful Hope to return to in person learning
Great university with quality lecturers from across the world.
I enjoyed my time at the university, my lecturers were great and I had a fantastic learning experience. I really enjoyed the social experience and the integrated campus with the city. Portsmouth is a great location to study. Overall, the management/administration of the university needs a complete upheaval as it it slow, bureaucratic and oftentimes I felt more like a customer/stakeholder than a student which would sometimes affect my experience, particularly during stressful periods. The student union does not involve itself with the student body as well as it could be compared to other universities. I do commend the university for taking the steps to ensure I graduated properly with a ceremony this year.
Great social experience and the teaching is unmatched
A great university with many buildings and services that are closeby and easily accessible
Good university facilities. University buildings are in a walking distance from the city centre.
The University of Portsmouth was great for the course that I was studying however the main issue I faced across the board was it was slow or there was a lack of availability. This mainly came down just to the lack there of or access to support services per student. From lack of equipment, personnel or space, It always felt awkward and alienating, like you had to compete with people at every turn. Societies weren't the best of experiences unless you were into the whole drinking or party student life. Its hard to make friends or even focus on studies whilst battling many of the issues students face. I found myself often having to skip lectures just so I could afford to eat by working. The problem is the support for those disadvantaged is so lacking, wether struggling with personal circumstances, financially or mental health. It often felt as though you were abandoned, expected to fail with no real desire for students to achieve. In that sense equality was universally poor.
99% of my time here was online via zoom. Therefore I can’t say much about the facilities and lecturers as I didn’t properly experience it.
Portsmouth university is a great uni, and I liked it especially for the city and diversity. My course is great, and all my tutors are very helpful. The uni has lots of societies and clubs to join, lots of support services for students some of which I used myself and found very helpful, and I have made some great friends and enjoyed my course over the years.
Really good and I would recommend to anyone looking to go to university
All online, was alright for what they can do so didn’t get much of a review of it
The teachers are helpful, the club is great, you can make friends easily, the University facilities is easy and the University itself is clean
no actual eduroam for the last few months as cyber attack issues still haven’t been sorted, no clue about what the student union actually do - campus is nice and easy to access
Because of the pandemic I have not stepped foot on campus so this review is not completely fair, this is based on my online teaching experience
Both lecturers and staff have worked hard during the pandemic, although some things could have been dealt with slightly better, overall a good experience
It’s been okay being at university in portsmouth
Worst uni ever. Don’t even bother with it
Excellent university. Great educatio
University of Portsmouth is perfect for those who love the seaside but also want a city feel too, theres so much to do here.
Very good studying experience, free language courses from second year are very rarely offered in this country.
The university is in the Portsmouth city centre. Anything you need, whether shopping, going to university, going on days/nights out, or even the beach is in walking distance. There is a lot of support available.
Good University. Wide selection of societies to join.
