It’s been a great experience so far at the university of Portsmouth. I’ve made some friends and generally the course has been good so far. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead.
The only complaint I have is that some of the teachers are not very approachable
Good university great lectures and good cultural mix
good options if u want to develop ur soft skills
the course could be more productive especially if you're studying an MSc. Publishing a paper and more practical session would be recommended. Independent work in the lab is recommended.
OK uni. Go to class and study. Can find a society if you want. Some odd ones set up by groups of like minded people. Good gym. Depends on course as to whether the uni is the perfect fit.
societies can be more active .
you barely will be informed about the university activities, news, etc.
Friendly staff and good environment.,
Good facilities and knowledgeable staff.
They have a good support within the humanities department and they work so hard to support each student xx
I loved my time at the university. Everyone helps you to become the best you can be.
Portsmouth Uni is good enough just to do the basics of a degree. If you have a problem weither it’s personal or academic, don’t expect them to do anything. My friend got bullied extremely due to the fact they had autism and adhd to the point they are unable to go to uni nor leave their place. The uni didn’t help they made it worse and only saw it from one point even with clear substantial evidence of discrimination bullying. My friend ended up dropping out due to the horrendous behaviour of the uni and the students.
I will say in terms of the course I’m studying which is mechanical engineering the teachers are actually helpful socially jovana which she is the head of the department, she will do whatever she can to make you pass the course only if you are committed to it of course. I will say the university was good for me because the buildings are not far from each other and the library is close to the building too and it has all you need.
Campus is built into the city which is something I prefer. Having one main building I go to which is close by to the main centre and everything is within a 30-40 minute walk of each other such as the beach and shops.
Really nice place; lots of areas where the students can socialize with friends and fellow students
It was great! Can't say enough about the cleanliness of the place and kindness, especially from Karen K
All my teachers are striking so I will finish the first year without grades! Haven’t learned anything for the past year!
As an international student, I had an amazing time at the University of Portsmouth. I feel like I have acquired knowledge in many subjects I knew nothing about and know the skills I learnt will help me in my future career.
I really enjoy studying at Portsmouth University, as the campus is within walking distance, staff are polite and friendly, and the course content is second to none
Overall good, wish there were more societies.
Very good service, the course and the facilities is good
The University of Portsmouth has been a great university for me to come to. I'm very happy I chose it, I was worried initially it might have not been the right choice but my fear soon settled when I got to know people and accelerated into my course. I also got involved in extra curriculum activities which made the rough times a lot better.
Really enjoy the people here and the staff, highly recommend.
There's always so much to do. Events are thrown frequently, the pool table and gym are also great places to meet friends.
Loaded of study spaces, societies and active student union
Josh is the best receptionist in Rosalind Franklin halls
Overall great experience however, very little financial support offered for creative courses.
My modules are interesting. The professors are helpful.
I haven’t used the careers department yet, I plan on using it next year. The lecturers, I’ve only ever had a problem with the content taught once, other than that, they’re good at what they do, they teach really well, facilities are great, laptops can be borrowed very easily. They make sure that all assignments are very well known, they’ve got a moodle web page that has course information, assignments and what you are studying, so everything in one place. Well-being is a solid 4/5. Clubs are great, I’ll be bias and say for meeting people a sports club is a great way to do so. And yeah, when you join, sports clubs cost money so don’t join every one of those, but most societies are free, even if you only have slight interest, just join them, join the discord servers too and you’ll meet people fast as long as you engage with socials.
Great university for providing solid academic courses and it’s location is amazing. I love how close everything is, and there’s lots of transport for the area.
Portsmouth is a great uni. Facilities are all within walking distance.
I like going to uni in ports but my course was underwhelming
I don’t like the city campus concept. However, it is easy to reach everywhere on foot. Portsmouth is a good city to be a student but a bad city to build a life. It was impossible to find a part-time job. That’s why I gave 3 stars to Careers and Employability. On the other hand they run good events and workshops. Clubs and societes are not functional. They just want to drink and go out. Student’s Union is there but I don’t know what they are doing, ınternet is excellent and teaching is good and democratic.
The worst university I have ever been. Some academic staff work based on the connections without any scientific knowledge. The poor science is transferred to the students by those staff. The research quality is below average.
Lovely university with a good range of events and activities, amazing staff and good facilities
Is the best student accommodation in the whole world, the employees are very sweet, understanding, always smiling and ready to listen and give any service. I am prepare to recommend Chaucer House to other students planning to come to uni, especially travelling from my country Belgium. Please keep up the good work Chaucer House!
I could not have started my further education at a better University! There has been great support with my academic work and all the lecturers and seminars have been interesting! There is a friendly atmosphere amongst the different societies! It has been an amazing experience.
Brilliant university with loads of opportunity
There are a lot of clubs and societies to choose from.
I enjoy the small class sizes and the engagement within the modules.
Portsmouth is a great area to live in- especially as a student!
Portsmouth is a great town, real family spirit!
Lectures are always available for a chat if you're having any issues or worries. The Lectures are generally engaging, though some feel like they run longer than necessary
Pompey is a city uni, but everything is still really close.
Loved my time at pompey, disappointed it's gonna be all over soon!:(
Haven’t used the union or the careers services much but from my little interaction they were good
Every part of the university feels well balanced, just as much focus on the quality of studies and on the wellbeing and experience part of it.
I like the integration into the city
there are lots of places to study that are quiet with good computers
Students union does not live up to its name in uniting students.
Good University, amazing course and facilities. The location is amazing.
It's a decent uni, the courses are challenging and are relevant. the buildings are historic and offer decent sized classroom. Lecturers are friendly.
Good place loads of extra support if you need help.
Very nice and comfortable environment
Love the uni, everything is local/ in walking distance from each other. Sporting facilities are amazing with friendly staff; support and help is
Great uni with support if needed and great teaching facilities
Its okay but could be better with support students and creating a campus like environment with some student spirit
I can’t really compare portsmouth uni to any other uni but for me it’s been good. The new leisure centre is an amazing facility
It’s a good place and good vibes
Lecturers are helpful with providing resources
I am enjoying learning about building a business
I have enjoyed my time at Portsmouth as it has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone
Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic!
I love the university, the lecturers and union are so supportive, the union give out free pizza a lot which you cannot complain about and hold a vintage kilo sale. I don't know much about career service but I found a job very easily in Portsmouth because I had experience, clubs and societies Portsmouth has loads of them but I tend not to join as some of the people can get a bit b*****, I'd say the most welcoming societies and loveliest are the LGBT or Kink societies or the Nacho one. Nightclubs, oh my god. if you like bevving it up you'll love freshers in Portsmouth as there was an event every single night! Even now on the second semester the clubs are still busy during the week, I mean they even do a toast club night on a Sunday. I'd say the course is good overall, its exactly what I wanted to do and the lecturers are always supportive and never stress you out
good uni and good lecturers, interesting modules
Very helpful staff just wish there was more going on with the SU
My first year experience has been great. For my course the facilities are amazing! The university has lots of sports clubs that I am a member of and now a state of the art gym that while is mega busy at points is amazing. The student union isn’t nearly as active as other universities and I have barely stepped foot into the union. I wish they where a bit more involved. Hopefully new leadership will solve that.
The induction was very helpful to find my way around Portsmouth University. The learning platform that is the moodle made it easier to learn at your own pace and practice questions. The traditional learning approach is good to, resources are readily available.
Good education and facilities. Getting alot of exposure.
Very nice place to live in, love to-call this my new home.
The university of Portsmouth is great. The lecturers are really supportive and there are plenty of societies.
There is a lot of support from staff, the library facilities are very helpful and there are so many activities at the university gym!
Very helpful. Especially good when it comes to placements
Amazing, could not have any better
Great time lovely place .
Very good university, having a nice experience here with supportive lecturer
So far I've had a great experience at the University, the lecturers are really friendly and approachable. Although it was a bit difficult to navigate to find lectures at first, I've gotten used to the buildings and know where I'm going now. I've made a few good friends, it's well worth joining any societies that interest you it's a good way of meeting people even if you're shy, there'll probably be people there you'll get on well with.
good uni in terms of teaching. nightlife life isnt for everyone here, clubs are so generic and the societies show little interest in their interests, and more casual people who want an excuse to go to pop world on a wednesday, the trashiest club around
good uni and i always feel very safe
My time so far has been more than memorable. My lecturers are great and keep lectures interesting.
Campus buildings are far apart but good staff and teaching
The team at Eldon are fantastic
I definitely made the correct choice in coming to Portsmouth especially my choice of course
It is really helpful when you’re in person
I met some good friends there and was given lots of options of help when doing my studies
Offering and extensive kind of courses and societies, so welcoming and friendly. Ease you into your course and allow you to get your footing
Decent, good lectures and lectures. Regular trips paid by tuition fees. Reasonable support for study.
Its a very nice uni, both tutors and students are very friendly.
In my opinion it is a good university as the facilities are good especially for nursing and it’s in a good location
I’ve loved every minute of studying at Portsmouth. The university is so modern as well as being easy to navigate. Social groups and activities, academic guidance, and general student support facilities are so accessible and easy to find.
So far the university has been a very good study and is very suitable for learning
So far all the staff have ben great, getting around is a bit difficult though
They are a really good university who I’m really happy I went with
sports and club events are well organised
Very early still haven’t been to student union
Good university, glad I came here
Nice campus and good help from staff
As a 2nd year I can truly say that I’m very happy/content with my choice of University as well as my chosen course
Had an amazing time so far and feel very welcomed !!:)
