I have been living at Europa House in Portsmouth for a few months now, and overall, my experience has been positive. The accommodation is modern, well-maintained, and ideally located for students at the University of Portsmouth. The building is close to the city centre, with shops, restaurants, and public transport options within walking distance, making it super convenient for both studies and leisure. Chanika, in particular, has been fantastic! She's always friendly, approachable, and quick to help with any issues or questions. Europa House is perfectly located for the University of Portsmouth students as the campus is only a fifteen-minute walk away. There are great transport links nearby and the infamous Gunwharf Quays is only four minutes away.
Inside the building, you have plenty of entertainment, as there is a games room, cinema, TV room and living room. You can also make use of the gym, kitchen, reading room and study room. Hi, what appliances are provided? Things like a kettle, microwave, hoover, iron, toaster etc? Also I know you get a bed, desk, wardrobe but what about a bin, dustpan and brush and small things like that?

Hi there, we have big box appliances, e.g. hob/oven and fridge, in the room. You may need to bring smaller things like toaster and iron for yourself. Also, we do provide communal hoovers and dustpans and brushes. A bin would be available in the room, but some people may like to get an extra little one for a bathroom. The staff at Europa house is really lovely they try to help you when you have queries or problems in your accommodation. The social spaces are great and staff is keen to help you when you have a maintenance problem in your room plus they solve it fast. You feel very at ease!

During my stay at europa house, I endured bullying from the lady at the desk called Chanika. Who was constantly passive aggressive and talking about people that were staying at the accommodation. Probably because the accommodation was the central focus of her life. I was expecting to feel at home and feel comfortable, as you should, but i was constantly uncomfortable. The utilities are okay, however the lift on the left was constantly broken and wifi was absolutely awful. I will be in contact with hello student.

Im in third year, so I have stayed in 3 different student halls. Europa house is by far the best and I definitely recommend. the building is quiet and lots of facilities, good gym and study spaces for when the library is busy or it is late at night. Friendly desk staff :)

2023/24 is my second season with Europa House. I am also rebooking for 24/25. The staff is amazing and very helpful. The common areas are cosy and there are plenty of activities to do! There are also great social events organized.

Had the best year at uni living at Europa House! If I had one more year of studies this is definitely where I would like to live again :) The staff members are so friendly and helpful. All the communal spaces were always kept clean and the events were so good too! This is how I got to meet some of my neighbours and meet people that are now my friends for life. So thankful to the team for all your help and support throughout a very personally stressful year.

Europa house is a very well run accommodation from cleanliness to the amazing team that helps us in the building. The high quality rooms , from the games room to the gym even a cinema room. The location is very convenient as it is situated between Gunwarf as well as the university building at the 24 hour security is always there to assist with any problems anyone might have. Would definitely recommend a years stays here

not recommending go for other places in the city
beside the expensive rent, yoiu have to consider the higher price you have to pay for laundry, they have the same machine as all other accommodations but they charge you 1.5 pound more for every cycle, so can be 10 pound more a month. also consider you have to buy drainer (10 pound a month) for shower, and you have to buy internet for you phone as the wifi does not work all the time. so consider at least 30 pounds more as hidden charges that you are not aware before renting. the laundry room is always dirty. this year they will ask you to move once to anither floor as they have construction, so i can imagine lifts will be broken all the time. i do not recommend this accommodation to anyone. you ca find common rooms and lovely staff every where. to me it is waste of money and experience.

do not trust this accommodation, they asked us to rate them 4 or 5 star and most of the comments are from the students who are friends with staff. this is an old building with broken lift, you need to drain the shower every day and they will not give you even a hi once you start living there. totally scam. they can give you wrong information to advertise their place but once you are there you will be stuck for one year.

Do not waste your money at this place. They only care about money. The lift is always broken, After signing the contract they will not listen to you and help you with your requests.

Europa House has a lot of good people, the people in reception will make you feel very welcome like if you were at home or if you were chilling with your friends. They really care about you and make sure you okey. They do a lot of social events which can make you interact with people and get to know people in your accommodation. It’s also the perfect spot which is very close to the coach station and train station. And it has the cinema, bowling, shops close to it. One thing I will say if you are the type of person who does not like to be seen by people who you know in the streets and you want to have a low-key profile, Europa House is the accommodation for you, you won’t regret it plus they have loads of commons rooms including a gym and a cinema room.

The minute an issue is relayed back to our on site teams the process of rectifying will begin. We always look at improving the turnover time from something being reported to being resovled/ fixed.

Pros: Good property management, with a team, full of members who make you feel like you are home. Whenever a problem happens they try their best to solve it (even with the things written in the cons section.) They run events consistently and the common areas are fun to hang out such as; playing table tennis or watching a football match on tv. It is cleaner, more comfortable and less noisy compared to the student halls located around the Commercial Road. Cons: It is expensive. However, student housing is, in general expensive in the U.K. Compared to the other halls in Portsmouth it has a good rate of value for money. The lifts are constantly going out. Therefore, they are generally crowded and consequently stopping at every floor. The heater in the room has a timer and it gets so cold if you don’t manuelly turn it on. The water drain in the shower is getting blocked in time, forcing you to pump out the drain or call for a help. In general, my experience in Europa House was positive.

Lovely accommodation, issues in the flat are fixed within a matter of hours not days, best location in Portsmouth! Only minor issue to lack of a buzz in door operation system, the two fob activated doors make it frustrating for guests and annoying to get in and out the building

I have been in quite a lot of accommodations in Portsmouth due to friends having parties etc. I love Europa House, the family atmosphere makes it the best place to live in Portsmouth. It's really cool you can book the common rooms and cinema room for parties with your friends. I've definitely made use of it and now all my other friends are jealous they don't live here. The reception staff are really cool and I stop for a chat when Im not in a rush. I'm happy giving this place 5 stars because it deserves it.
Love Europa House! Found it hard finding a place I like in Portsmouth and was initially reluctant but Europa House feels like the best choice I could've made. It's a real family atmosphere and I love the place.

Staff are lovely and very helpful, clean communal areas and maintaince issues were dealt with swiftly. The staff make you feel safe and at home. The rooms are well layed out and have everything you need. The views are great, have booked again for next year.
Europa house is the best accommodation so far. The cinema room is so good, watching the England games was elite. It's also bookable and you are able to bring all your mates. I love the staff, especially Alex on the weekend. Think I spend more times chatting to the staff at the desk than in my room lol Defo recommend this place

Really recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for student accommodation in Portsmouth. While it sits further out near Gunwharf, the place is really quiet (in a good way) but still within easy walking distance (5-10 mins) to my lectures next to Guildhall. They try hard to put on regular events for residents and readily ask us what we want on. I've been able to book the social spaces myself for small gatherings with my friends. The male staff member who works on the weekend is so nice. He's always asking me how I am and whenever I had a query, he tries really hard to sort it as fast as he can. The wifi could be better, and sometimes the other residents aren't clean but the housekeeping staff work hard to keep the place clean (from what I can tell). Hope this helps, I've lived in a couple of the other student accommodation buildings in Portsmouth and this is by far the best!

Really easy to get to know people that stay here. The residents and staff are all really friendly and very helpful with just about anything. It's also extremely quick and straightforward to get to class or to get to do grocery shopping. Best accommodation I've been to in Portsmouth!

No internet for a year in my room. Kept chasing the site manager who said he was in meeting with Glide to fix the issue. The issue was never fixed, and the site manager ghosted me and left the company. Fast forward a year and a few months later they offer me 100 pounds for not being able to access the internet, call my family, watch television, access online learning. All this during lockdown, I had no support bubble, no access to outer world.

Okay living space, could of done a better background check on people seeing who I was living with and the state they would leave things
Honestly got ripped off living in these halls, so expensive for what you pay. When the lift is broken half the time and management only care about rent money
Its quite far from the uni relatively speaking (makes it worse on nights out). Wifi is really good. Mostly clean, unlike other halls no broken walls or anything like that. Couple of places to hang out and socialize, including a cinema room.
