In my final year of undergraduate, and I am very happy with the university and the city I chose. Welcoming people, established help system and lovely campus, that is still innovating and working on new ways of how to be better.
Decent uni with modern facilities. Haven't interacted much with clubs and the SU in my time here but they seem alright.
Excellent environment…. Everyone is so kind and supportive
Reviewing their online computer science degree. I took data analytics but the first 3 modules are the same no matter what path you took. Honestly not what I expected at all. I signed up as a beginner, thinking it would be suitable for beginners. Myself and many others really struggled with how challenging the topics were, and how much you were supposed to studying/work on the assignments per week. If you work full time and are a beginner you will struggle to find the time. One tutor didn't engage with us whatsoever. Just 3 webinars and no responses to emails. There were so many connectivity issues connecting to the remote server too. Lots of typos in the presentations and videos that were just reused for years, some with so many errors that made them non functional to follow. The OOP module was hard. All students struggled and complained. The notes given to us by the university where impossible to understand or follow. If I knew before I wouldn't have joined
Great campus with lots to offer. Most of the buildings are within a 5 minute walk and fairly easy to navigate.
If you are a student who needs to work while attending university, then this is not the university for you. The support from staff is non-existent and many will ignore messages asking for further guidance or support. There are some good supportful lecturers but they are few and far between.
Amazing university, I’ve really enjoyed myself
Northumbria University has good facilities and a range of clubs and societies to join.
Really welcoming, helpful and friendly
After 3 years of undergraduate course, I decided to do a master's degree here as well. I like how the lectures and tutorials are well explained and that tutors always want to help
Large range of societies and teaching staff are really helpful
Haven’t had any major problems
Very good, I enjoyed my first year
Very good university and would recommend to anyone
I enjoyed my experience in the university, I recommend a better organisations for the classrooms because it either can be helpful or waste of time especially if it’s a big room
Northumbria University through Newcastle College Access to HE path is a fantastic student experience.
My personal tutor and staff were very motivating and helpful towards me .
Services on campus are good, you have everything you need
The campus itself and the learning content are worth it, some of the staff however let it down.
Great university with friendly students and staff. Library and facilities are very useful and accessible for studying. Great location in the heart of town
Good university but the design of some of the buildings are ugly like the squires annex building and they can improve by making more comfortable areas for students to chill
Amazing accommodation, I have been here for 2 years and it feels like home to me.
My experience so far has been mixed. In 1st year I was mainly online due to covid and therefore found it incredibly difficult to properly meet people on my course. There were very few, if any, events promoted for people like me who don’t enjoy night clubs / heavy drinking. 2nd year has been much better. It was completely on campus, I started talking to more people and had someone to sit next to in my lectures / optional modules. The ‘Be part of it’ scheme was set up which significantly contributed to me not dropping out. This offers Northumbria students a lot of heavily discounted events throughout each term and aims for you to meet other students without the traditional student nightlife. The support from staff is excellent (specifically from my personal tutor) who has helped and supported me more than I can describe. The campus is very nice and close to the city centre. My course department has excellent facilities which makes the experience much better.
Very enjoyable and everyone seems to want to be active and go out so extremely easy to make mates
good university very helpful staff and buildings were very easy to find and were always nice to work in
I attend coach lane campus and the service is always amazing and facilities are great and all is what is needed to study.
Been here now for 4 years and I’ve had an absolutely fantastic experience got to meet so many great people including friends and members of staff. The teaching and learning is second to none.
The facilities are great, the tutors are great, the social life is great as well as the opportunity for social life. However, I want to say, if there are no placements, then when making list of courses for addimissions for international students, please don't state advance practice. My honest thought. As I feel this is not true Thank you
Great University. Stunning location and the University is well-equipped with the state-of-the-art technologies.
Beautiful environment for learning. Modern facilities have also been put in place to make the learning experience worth it.
Northumbria University is a good place to study. One can easily approach the teaching team and they are always willing to help.
I love the experience. Amazing tutors and environment.
Northumbria University has a nice cultural blend. everyone is included. The research oriented courses are thorough making it the University of the year last year(2022)
They have offered my all the support needed throughout my experience and studying there has been enjoyable.
Northumbria is a great university. I have struggled a lot with mental health and i can admit that there are a lot of reasources and counselling available . My only problem is travelling to coach lane campus and back. it doesn’t feel like the true university experience
It is a great university to study master degree, the university has rewarded as the university of the year in 2022.
Good university for the course I'm in.
good university in a good area
I enjoy studying computer science here
great university highly recommend
have pretty good tech facilities and support desk. academic setting for IT students is in a newly built computing facility which supports learning productivity a lot.
it’s a good uni and a cool campus
Great university, lovely lecturers and staff
Great the uni is lovely I’m happy
Great uni for my subject, the rankings don’t do it justice. Red bricks are overhyped UP THE POLY
very good place to study, everyone is friendly and helpful
Great campus, relatively easy to get around
I love Northumbria and my course!
Value for money, worth studying at the university.
Northumbria are always sure to give you what you need. Library/books/ wifi and really helpful tutors within the establishment.
Average experience. The staff was always helpful however I'm not satisified with the Mass Communication programme which I think didn't teach me the practical skills and knowledge.
Northumbria Universirty has been a great experience for me. I have met many new friends on my course and within the hockey club.
It has a good range of facilities and many clubs for people who enjoy all types of different things. It’s a very welcoming place and everyone is always really friendly
great social experience with a real focus on student wellbeing, staff are extremely friendly and happy to help. Campus is full of joy and life. Amenities could perhaps be better kept.
Great university in a good location from my accommodation, good facilities aswell
Great university with lots of different societies to join and lots of social opportunities.
Good campus and plenty facilities
Great university with easy to find rooms. It has great sports facilities and overall great teaching. Lecture halls are overall nice and lecturers tend to be very helpful with questions.
Yeah it’s a really good uni tbf however my course has been a bit messed up this year
It's a okay university in terms of what you can have access too, support isn't the best but staff are friendly
great university and great course
Good uni. Needs to improve there communication skills
Not the most organised especially around timetabling, but aside from this my campus (coachlane) has good facilities and a positive atmosphere. My teachers are also engaging and enthusiastic.
Couldn’t ask for a more welcoming experience as a fresher! The university has lots to offer for students outside of learning such as fitness opportunities, social clubs and study spaces all over campus. The on campus shops, cafes and bar brings a positive attitude to learning too!
Amazing facilities on site for students and there is support when needed. The wifi is very reliable but I didn’t know about the student union until second year of uni so was quite sad I missed out on this.
Very good University in Newcastle Upon Tyne
Northumbria university so far is brilliant, I have only just started my second semester but I am loving it. The lessons are well structured to enable students to really grasp the content as best as possible and if you struggle with anything you can set up 1-1 meetings with the lecturers.
it’s a good university, lots of staff on help for any enquiries
Good wifi throughout campus and excellent 6 floor library. with a wide variety of study spaces. Good variety of choice of sport teams to join and choose from to socialise and meet people
I love Northumbria University, when looking around other universities this one really caught my eye for the best reasons.
All academics and staff are amazing and friendly always there to help, and easy to access the campus and multiple study areas
Really enjoy the university, and have found that the staff are really enthusiastic about what they do. Massively recommend
Easily accessible and a great environment! Lots of promotion on well being and keeping safe
Always good to be at Northumbria
Good teaching and very modern facilities.
Great experience, helpful and friendly staff, great location, always clean.
