My son pays a different weekly rate than someone else in the same type of room. Does the rate depend on if you book through the university or direct with Unite? Trying to contact Unite to query this however just placed in a queue

Hi,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Yes there can be several different weekly rates for the same type of room. This can be based on when a customer has booked with us (we have early rebooker rates) and it also will depend on the tenancy length, we have 40, 44 and 51 week tenancies at Newgate Court. I have loved living in Newgate court! Perfect location and an overall lovely living space. The staff at Newgate really take it to the next level, as not only are they always lovely and ready to help, but they are also always ready for a joke and really make it feel like home. Amber especially makes walking into Newgate one of the best experiences as she is particularly kind and up for having a laugh!
All staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially Amber who helped ease the process of moving in.

The accomodation is really nice and there's a lot spaces around the building where you can chill. The staff are also extremely friendly, Amber for example really helped me out when I was struggling to adjust and she regularly checks in with me which has been nice. I would recommend this place.

Great location, only bad thing is the maintenance of the lifts is poor. One lift has basically been broken since moving in, and the other occasionally drops to -1 for no reason. The disabled lift has also been broken since moving in.

Staff are always friendly and more than welcome to help with any questions, Amber always makes an effort to speak to students appropriately and puts a smile on everyone’s faces! She has helped me so much with my door locking on me a lot of times and escalated it to get it fixed!! Chris is also lovely on the desk also very helpful and chatty!

Although Newgate is large, clean & in a great location, there were several issues during my stay. First, towards the end of my tenancy, I started to get a small infestation of clothes moths in my room, where I was finding 2-7 moths each day. After being unable to deal with the issue myself, I went to reception for help, where I was told there was nothing they could do. So, I emailed for advice, and they sent pest control. However, the issue was left unresolved, even after the visit from pest control. I had to leave my accomodation months before the tenancy ended, as I felt uncomfortable living in those conditions. Moreover, there were many machines in the building which were broken throughout my stay. The vending machines and some gym equipment have been out of order since the beginning of my stay & 1 lift has been out of order for months, meaning there was only 1 lift for all residents. In my opinion, these issues have occured for too long, which is unacceptable when we pay so much.
Very overpriced, when booking through uni it’s £159 pw, but on unite students it’s £140. Has been times where vomit has been left on sofas/carpet for almost a day. Our flat door doesn’t require a key to open, flat doesn’t feel safe at all. Staff are nice mostly

The location is honestly the best part. Also the rooms are like grey and white and really modern. No weird colours or ugly carpet xxxx Zophia / Zofia (not sure how to spell) is always really lovely and helpful
My absolute favourite place to stay during my time so far at university, a phenomenal accommodation with phenomenal facilities and equally as astounding staff members, just to name a few: Rebecca, Zofia, Billy, Andy, Tony. I couldn’t rate this place highly enough, I’m so sad to leave soon );::
The best location, the staff are all really friendly, there are social spaces, gym, study room, cinema room, games room all included and they are so nice. Everything is really modern and the communal areas all always really clean.
Amber at reception is amazing, I got locked in my bathroom and within minutes of calling reception, amber came to the rescue. She's so friendly and helpful.

Having stayed in Newgate Court for the first year of my time studying in Newcastle, I have nothing bad to say. It was a great place, great location and unreal staff. Jessie was always very kind and helpful even at early hours of the morning :)

Not a good value for money, the mattress is horrible you can feel the springs pressing onto your chest. The heater cannot keep the whole flat warm. Social spaces are better in most of other student housing companies. No social events organised by the company.
Overall the experience is very good.
Perfect location being right in town and close to the university, staff are really friendly and good at getting things fixed quickly. Great spaces with a cinema room and gym.

Newgate Court is great accomodation, great for nights out with it being in the city centre, and not far from uni. Facilities like the gym and on site laundry and reception staff are great.

Newgate Court is in the best location, the clubs are a 2 minuet walk, Uni is a 10 minuet walk it really couldn’t get better. There’s a tesco and M&S 2 minuets away alongside the shopping centre a 5 minute walk. The staff are so friendly and the place is clean and has amazing facilities. I highly reccomend.

Living at Newgate Court was the best decision Ive made. Staff is always helpful in every situation and will resolve any problems you have. The location couldnt be better as the property is directly in the middle of the city centre. The rooms are modern and you can choose from a variety of ranges from classic to premium or even a studio so there is something for everyone.
Unite Newgate Court Accommodation is the best place to leave in. The spot of the accommodation is near everything that a student needs, supermarkets, the train station, the metro, the cinema, the clubs and bars etc. Also, the people who work there are always helpful and friendly. Located in the centre of Newcastle Newgate is an ideal place to live, it’s modern, bills are included in the price and it comes with a common area, 2 study rooms, a games area, a gym and a cinema room all free of charge. Reception staff are always ready to help with a smile, especially Jessie, Dawn and David. Any issues or maintenance problems are solved asap. The flats come in a range of sizes and there’s an option to book with friends as well as booking deals you can’t refuse, such as £150 cash back. The rooms are an ideal size and are all en-suite giving you extra privacy. The kitchens come fully refurbished with two cookers, two fridge freezers a microwave and a kettle as well as ample storage space. Newgate is a perfect place to live.

My experience here is really. So far it is the best accommodation I have lived in. The reception team is excellent and the online help chat team are also prompt. The room is lovely, with ample storage space.

Newgate court is the best student accommodation! My experience has been only positive from day 1 and I’m loving it here! The rooms are lush and the staff are great, always helpful if there are any issues. My flat is lovely too, met some great people around the building because it’s so easy to socialise! There are study rooms too which I often use instead of making the walk to the library as people are respectful and quiet in them. Location wise, Newgate has the best of everything being right near the markets and shops while also having the nightlife just down the road and the uni a 10/15 minute walk away too! Defo recommended!!

I love Newgate court, it so far, has been the best accomodation I have visited and decided to stay at. The rooms are spacious, conformable, with amazing qualities within. The staff have to be my favourite part of the whole experience and they are always loving, kind Ans sympathetic towards any of your situations, furthermore it feels like I have not only made so many more friends here, but also made friends within the staff team.

Absolutely love living here - here for a second year in a row! Super friendly reception staff, always up for a chat and there to help with any issues whatsoever! We especially love hearing David’s singing on a morning walking past reception :)) location is brilliant - everything right on the doorstep and Uni is a 20 min walk. The common areas and gym are always super clean and rooms are in good condition upon arrival. Would 100% recommend to any prospective students looking for a friendly, clean and modern accommodation.

Laundry machines barely work, fire alarm twice a week and the wifi here is crap. I have reported some of my dorm's thing are broken since I first came here and now its nearly end of the year and no body gives a f***
