I recently moved into a student apartment, and I am very happy with my experience. The manager and other reception staff are SUPER friendly and helpful. The manager,Lisa, in particular, is very understanding and has assisted me a lot with the move. The friendliness of the staff alone is enough to make me want to choose this accommodation again next year when I come back. The room itself was very clean, and I love the simple yet modern decor and color scheme. Overall, it's a great place to stay, and I would highly recommend it to other students!

Market House Biography
Market House is located right in the city centre and is close to plenty of restaurants, shops, attractions, cinemas and bars. You can roll out of bed and take a short seven-minute walk to Northumbria University, an eleven-minute walk to Newcastle University or a fourteen-minute walk to Newcastle University Medical School.
The accommodation offers great social spaces such as a lounge, TV room, study room and a games room. The staffs are really nice, welcoming, and facilitating. REALLY GREAT
Whenever I come downstairs to get my packages they are always welcome. The reception is always open and I’ve lost my keys a few times and they never complain. The staff are also really nice.
So far, i have been leaving in this apartment for almost a year now, and i can say i have met the nice staff people in here. The environment is nice. The location of the building is great. Spacious rooms, and the payment plan is good.

Just want to give a mention to Lisa who was absolutely amazing when I was moving in she made me feel so welcome and helped me move my stuff in as there was a day I was moving in on my own. She’s been so lovely and helpful and is always there when I need anything - thank you!

All staff have been absolutely fantastic and always available and happy to help with anything I might need. They clearly take really good care of their residents and have an amazing ability to remember things about us - for example I broke my wrist and they would always how it was getting on. I really appreciate it! It’s a really friendly atmosphere The room has been great, and fit all my needs

The most comforting, homey and safe accommodation I have stayed in during my time at uni. There’s a reason I’ve stayed here 2 years in a row and if I had another left I would stay here again. Couldn’t ask for much for and the building staff are amazing, they look after you as if you were their own.
Lisa , oullie and Karen are an amazing staff and extremely helpful and make the accommodation feel like home absolutely cheerful and welcoming.

The staff are great, and genuinely cared to make sure everyone was happy and settled in to the new environment, particularly those new to the city and university! The rooms are spacious with lovely floor to ceiling windows. A perfect city centre location, within walking distance to all amenities, you couldn’t get a better location.
I have been incredibly surprised by Market House. I love how were managed the space of my room and kitchen is. The building is very clean and modern, the social space is perfect for hanging out with friends but also for studying and other activities. The customer service is amazing, always kind and lovely. I love it!

Perfect city centre location, within walking distance to all amenities including university campus, shops, and nightlife. Spacious rooms with floor to ceiling windows, and large en-suite bathrooms. The social space provides a place to study, and meet with friends. The staff are always friendly, and go above and beyond to help. If you ever have any queries, they will ensure they support and help as much as they possibly can. I have lived here for 2 years and will miss it when I finish my degree.

Really convenient location, close to town and uni. Really nice room and kitchen area, large windows so lets a lot of light in. Lots of events happening and been minimal issues so far. Staff friendly when you talk to them. Highly recommend! :))

I lived in student accommodation in Newcastle before. Here is so much nicer! The room has a high standard as well as a kitchen and they are very spacious. Also is nice to have a very well designed social space so we can feel like at home
I moved In on the first day and have loved living in the middle of the city. A modern and up to date accomodation that is extremely well sized and a great view from my room of the quayside
My room door sometimes does not close and i have to either pull with bigger force or unlock with the fob and wait for it to lock again. But overall it's great

Great location and kind staff. The rooms are clean and if there’s any maintenance issues they are handled efficiently in my experience. Very comfortable with members of staff and can rely on them for any issues. Within walking distance of plenty of shops, as well as a shopping centre, and an easy (and safe) walk to university.

The location is perfect. It’s in the city Center so it’s walkable and this will probably be the biggest accommodation rooms you’ll find in Newcastle. It’s so spacious.

Market house is a great place to stay! It’s dead in the centre, close to shopping, the night life as well as a 10/15 min walk from Newcastle university. The management team are fantastic! And always willing to help. Highly recommend.

The place is beautiful, with massive rooms and the common room has so many amenities. The staff here is especially extremely helpful and friendly, especially Ollie and Lisa. Been living here for a year and I absolutely love my experience so far, they have made my stay at Market house extremely comfortable.

Having lived here for 2 years of university, and already rebooked for next year, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere better for my University experience. The location of the building is amazing, as it’s central to all amenities: university, shops, bars, clubs, metro station, quayside etc. This means I have been able to save a lot of money on travel expenses I would have otherwise incurred. The building itself has fantastic facilities. The rooms are spacious, meaning you can bring all your favourite bits from home. Having an en-suite is also great. The kitchens are modern, and have everything you could need. The social space is a fun area to go with friends, either for pres before a night out, or just to go play pool. The staff also add to the experience. Both Ollie and Lisa are also so friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to manage the building and endeavour to care to everyone’s needs. They are always quick to assist in remedying any query you may have.

The location is brilliant, bang in the centre of Newcastle and only 10 mins walk from the station, but it's not loud or overly busy. The rooms are great, loads of space and storage and a good sized desk for study. The staff are really helpful and friendly; they helped to sort me out with some alternatives really quickly with some issues I was having with travelling to Durham for university. Would recommend.

Market House feels like home thanks to its kind and attentive staff who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and personally known. The location is great for the price and the common areas have an enjoyable atmosphere and are always clean. I am currently staying market house for my masters year and the team were really helpful in finding me a flat with other final year/postgraduate students! I have really enjoyed my stay so far, the location is excellent, really central and less than a 10 minute walk from Newcastle University campus. The team are always super friendly, and go above and beyond for the students staying here, setting up multiple social events in the social space throughout the year to encourage people to get to know one another. Plus, the maintenance crew are really responsive to any requests or queries and get things sorted ASAP. As student accommodations go this is the best one I have stayed in throughout my time at Newcastle :)

Market house is my first student accommodation and I have really enjoyed my experience here the staff can’t do enough for you wether that’s accommodating to your financial needs when it comes to paying rent along with keeping the place spotless and clean the social spaces are amazing which helped me at the beginning when getting to know people, coming from a different town means I was starting fresh with nobody, they always made sure I felt welcome and comfortable along with making sure I knew I had somebody to talk to if I needed anything I can’t fault them in anyway and when next year comes I won’t settle for any less when it comes to looking for accommodation.

I have been living in market house for two years now and I love it? The location is excellent as it is in the middle of town and the staff are Amazing ! Market House is a great accommodation for students, I will definitely recommend it to everyone. Rooms are great, size is perfect, nice, closet big enough and heaters work very well. The kitchen is big enough for everyone to cook even at the same time, fridges are also high enough for everyone to store their food. The kitchen has a nice social space where you have a tv and sofas so you could hang out with your friends and watch a movie. Location is perfect as well, it is close to everything. The management team is very friendly, they help you when needed and they are very welcoming. Overall it is a great accommodation for students, you have the chance to met new people and make new friends.

The team are absolutely amazing from the moment you first come throughout the whole student experience, I loved it that much I’m rebooking for next year and probably the year after that too. The place is so secure, centre to all shops and local bars. It’s a great location for walking distance. Highly recommend if you want a easy student life and life style 😊

Short walk from main shopping street of Newcastle, and great transport links with the metro near by. Staff are friendly. Social space is nice and modern however you had to book it out due to Covid so I did not utilise this year.

This accommodation is in the middle of central Newcastle where it provides a tremendous value for money aspect while still providing a high quality room. The staff are lovely and will fix any issues as fast as they can as soon as they are aware of them.

I moved here at the start of my first year into a shared flat and for my second year I moved into a studio flat. Each flat is so well furnished and decorated that it feels like a proper home. Brilliant location right on the high street and close to both universities. Me and my boyfriend are currently splitting the rent of a gold plus studio. Rent is paid by the room, not by the occupancy making it so much cheaper. Bills are included so its really easy to sort your finances. The site is impeccably maintained by the wonderful cleaner Karen. There's a brilliant maintenance man called Ken who fixes any issues really quickly. The staff in the office are wonderful too. Shaina makes a huge impact to life at Market House and cares for the wellbeing of the tenants. She puts a huge amount of effort into making it feel like a commuity and comes up with ideas for events for tenants to meet each other. I truely consider her a friend now due to the support she has given over the last two years.

Great experience so far! Loads of good points: -ideal location -the staff -other residents -regular surface cleaning(I think daily) and taking measures for covid safety -competitions Etc On the flip side -it's a little more expensive (but you knew that already) -fire alarms atleast once a month outside of weekly tests (...guilty that one time) Usually if there's something going on,they'd tell us in advance. For example,we were told about a few days before hot water went out,for maintenance(and other things included in the contract). Speaking of contract,be sure before signing. Some,if not all halls(private or uni) allowed students to not pay for the first term if they were away. To my knowledge,Market House has done that as well,but I am not sure about those who were here first term,left for Christmas and were unable to come back for 2nd term because of uni guidelines. If you have doubts,ask email or phone them. And when you get here,make sure to take advantage of what's available.
