Staff are very welcoming and are easy to talk to, the accom itself is very clean and modern with plenty of space, especially in the kitchen. It’s also very close to the uni and shops (about a 3-4 min walk to Northumbria while also being about 30secs away from Sainsbury’s and 3ish mins from Tesco)

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Lovely accomodation absolutely amazing staff, accommodation is top tier, nothing to complain about. Special mentions to Abbie, Jason and Jason
Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words!
This building and the staff that work in it are amazing, they go above and beyond for you!! Abbie and Jason are Fantastic
Thank you so much for your lovely review we are so glad you are enjoying your time here!
Albert place has a lot of potential but unfortunately they are yet to tap into that. For example, construction in the building should’ve been completed by now, yet they have just started, the building is pretty but would be better if construction wasn’t happening almost mid way through the semester.
Thank you for your review - Unfortunatley the construction taking place is so the building complies with the law and sadly we have no choice but to have the works completed. Whilst we did aim for the works to be complete by the end of summer they have ran over however this is so we can carry out works in one flat at a time meaning less disruption for residents on site. We hope that works will be completed over the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to come and see us at reception :)
Reasonably priced, friendly staff at reception. Building is modern, rooms are spacious, and kitchen is good. Also having the washing machine in kitchen is much easier than circuit laundry. Main issue is that walls are thin so can be noisy, also when I moved in my room wasn’t cleaned. But overall would recommend and am rebooking, one of the cheaper accommodations around so is good value.
Thank you for your review we are glad to hear you are rebooking and hope you look forward to another year living with us! :)
It was amazing, Francesca was really nice
Thank you for your review :)
I am currently at albert place and i couldnt be happier, the staff are always friendly and there is always an event on for us to take part in.

Enjoyable cozy place with a nice gym and short walking distance to university and amenities!
Thank you for your lovely review :)
Moved in for my masters, all the site staff were very welcoming and helpful with anything I had and there was plenty of events and free food/drinks through my stay that have been really nice to have. The gym is fine however the cable machine has been broken for a while. Overall a great place to stay as a student
Thank you for your lovely review and feedback on the gym - we are currently awaiting a contractor to fix this issue with the cable and will have this sorted asap :)
Really comfortable place to live with friendly staff.
Thank you for your kind review :)
Albert place is a good place to live as a student because the living conditions are quality as well as there being other social experiences nearby. The staff are friendly and try to help where they can.

I really enjoy Albert place, it is a new apartment. The facility here is new,the stuffs here is responsible and friendly. There is also a Chinese shop just five steps away from the apartment which is really convenient. I really like this place
This is my second review for Albert Place as circumstances have changed drastically. During my first year of stay this was a wonderful place to live. The property was initially managed by Universal Student Living and had the feel of a small, quiet accommodation and any interaction with property management was a positive one. How times have changed. Albert Place was acquired by Homes for Students at the beginning of last year and the living experience has gone seriously downhill. Every single element that can possibly be milked for monetary gain by the company has been. There are now call out fees if you get locked out, Guests are no longer allowed unless they are checked in at reception (Which is only open 9-5 through the week and often not even that as the reception is very frequently closed during these supposed working hours.) Homes for Students have ripped the homeliness from this building and replaced it with a cold, corporate one. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
I moved from India last year and stayed at Albert place for this academic year. I love how welcoming they have been. It’s very close to my uni so the locations works out well for me. The kitchen is great and has everything you’d need as you move here. They always have coffee at the reception which I personally love! The staff is great and any issue that may come up is resolved quickly. I’ve had a great experience here :)
I'm currently a third year student and have stayed in 3 different accommodations each year and Albert Place has been the best one by far. It is in a super location, especially if you are in the design or law/business building at just a 5 min walk. The rooms and kitchen are a super size with everything you need including a washing machine and iron. Lots of events are held throughout the year to improve your social experience when moving to uni, and any issues are quickly resolved by the great staff and maintenance team.
decent accom, has everything you need, the rooms are very good compared to most over options, and is in a very good location
If you are studying at the business and law school of Northumbria University and struggle to wake up early for classes. Albert Place is for you! The location is perfect! They also have a washing machine in each flat which is amazing ((lots of student accommodations do not provide this facility in the flat, you will need to pay separately just to wash your clothes)) I remember I had an issue with my room door and when I message Glynn, he immediately came up and help to fix it. The reception is not open during the weekends but there will be RC available to assist you(i did not find this to be an issue as I just make sure that I arrange for any delivery to be done during the weekdays or for the delivery person to have my number so they could call me if its during the weekend)
Cozy, clean and nice accommodation. well laid out common areas and a kind and helpful crew
Thank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback. :) Glynn
Great location, good size room
Thank you very much for your review. :) Glynn
The staff here is very helpful and yhe property is tidy.
Thank you for your review! We love to help everyone as much as we can! :D Glynn
Perfect accommodation for Newcastle. I've stayed here for two years, it's such a convenient location, feels like a proper flat instead of student living. Everything you'd need is here. Management is lovely and make you feel comfortable. Freebies at the reception is a plus too! Would recommend it to everyone (which I definitely have).
All staff are friendly and great! Clean and modern with good wifi . Good common room and gym. Very close to uni . Can’t complain
Living here is very easy and comfortable. Great location and lovely staff rlly nice place :) also decent sized rooms/ kitchen
The staff is very nice and thoughtful, and my flatmates are absolutely incredible. I have no word for the location, just perfect.
I’ve been here for a few weeks and I absolutely love it here. Everyone is really nice and I feel completely at home.
There are no other words to describe than amazing, vibes are immaculate - best accommodation to live at! The staffs and flatmates living here are friendly and helpful. Feels so much like home when living here. BEST ACCOMMODATION FOR SURE!
Best Place to stay for students! The location is good and the staff are really friendly and helpful! Louisa and Glynn are always there to help when you have any queries. The maintenance of the place is amazing too with Ian always there with his handy hands. You won't regret it!
Choosing to live in Albert Place was the best decision I ever made. Very close to Northumbria university and city centre. Lovely staff members such as Glynn, Louise and Ian who are very accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for any better :)
Very friendly staffs. Exceptional value for money. Very close by to Northumbria University (2 minutes walk). Would definitely recommend to a friend
It’s been hard being so far away from home, but I’ve never felt homesick at all from the first day I lived at Albert place especially thanks to the amazing personnel that works here, Louisa and Glynn. They have addressed all my concerns with great expediency. I truly do not have regrets living here and I would do it all again if I have the chance to. The facilities are amazing and the rooms are almost brand new as compared to other student accommodations, not to mention the fact that it’s extremely clean and well organised. The events that take place in the accommodation are amazing as well. Before I forget, a special shout-out to Ian too, the accommodations caretaker!
I really love living here as the accommodation managers know everyone individually and are always there to answer any questions we have!
I absolutely love it here, everything is above expectations and is by far the nicest accommodation i’ve seen since being up here. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and super helpful when needed! The rooms are perfect and have everything you need really!
Really love it here especially as this is my first time living in student accommodation.
Albert Place is the best student accommodation for anyone at Newcastle or Northumbria university. The rooms are spacious, living areas and kitchens are modern and the staff always go above and beyond to really make you feel at home. Would highly recommend.
Such a great place to live that I’ve been here for my entire 3 year course, no reason to move anywhere else! Wi-Fi is really quick, rooms are more than spacious enough, bathrooms are great. The most enticing part is the dishwasher and washer/dryer in the kitchen, they’ve proven incredibly useful over the years. Since I’ve lived here during the late 2020/early 2021 lockdowns, I can assure you it’s a great place to live. Another thing, the staff are wonderful, especially Louise and (a fairly recent addition to the team) Glynn! Nothing but welcoming when you go past the reception, very easy to have a chat with. 5/5, strongly recommended!
I was so nervous to go to uni and I had no idea where I’d stay. I came across Albert place by chance and feel so at home and safe there. It’s like a mini family away from home! And they’re so accommodating, I’m living with my hedgehog and happier than ever! Couldn’t recommend Albert place enough
An amazing accommodation with amazing facilities. The staff are fantastic especially Louise and Glynn.
Albert Place is a lovely place to live! It’s my first year of university and I couldn’t be happier with the accommodation. The staff are great and very helpful it’s made us all feel so at home and comfortable… I’ve made some amazing friends from here !! I couldn’t recommend Albert place more the facilities are amazing!
Great staff and great flat to make me feel at home while at uni. Super excited to be staying here for another year
Fantastic place to live, felt very safe staying here and the staff are amazing and very friendly. Would highly recommend
I chose Albert Place because of its location. What I didn’t know, is that I’d feel at home there. The rooms are perfect sizes, very well furnished. Throughout my isolations, I was very comfy staying in, especially because Louise and the rest of the team were making sure everyone has food and everything needed. There is enough space for everything and the aesthetic of the flat is amazing. The staff is so welcoming, there were always some little surprises for us all but more than anything I liked seeing so many smiling faces every day. The flat has a dishwasher, kettle, washing machine (with a drying cycle), which made dealing with daily chores easy for everyone. Overall, the best accommodation I have stayed in!
Great accommodation!! Had a wonderful two years living at Albert place.
Amazing! I feel safe and secure at Albert place. This is my main reason for spending my 4th and final year here. The overall aesthetic of Albert place feels more like a home and less like a student accommodation which is terrific. Amazing management, social spaces and security.
Great place to live for any year of your university life. Close to northumbria campus and a great distance from the city centre!
There’s a reason I’ve lived at AP for my whole degree. The facilities are so good; having a free washing machine and dishwasher is a dream. I always get complemented on how nice the flat is when I have friends over. The team (especially Louise) are amazing, any issue or maintenance is sorted straight away. It’s so close to uni and town you can roll out of bed less than half an hour before your lecture and no need to pay for a taxis to town. Just in general, a lovely place to live!!
Albert place is a great choice, especially as a Northumbria University student. Compared to other accommodation, the price is very competitive for what you get. Most university accommodation does not have the luxury of having en suite rooms, whilst also having a washer/dryer with dishwasher facilities inside each flat. There are multiple different rooms available depending on what your space preference is, along with studios if you want your own place. Some good added perks is the social areas such as the common room with a tv and table games and fridge/freezer, which is really helpful for socials or party’s, and there is also a gym which has 24/7 access. The main benefit for me however is how close it is to the university and shop. Sainsbury’s is a minute walk away and the business and law building is right out front. It’s super easy to walk the uni bridge and be in the main campus within 10 minutes. More than anything the management is amazing and there to help whenever, 10/10!!
This is my second year living here at Albert Place and i absolutely love it! The staff are lovely and make this accommodation feel like a home away from home. The rooms and kitchen are great and the common room and gym are amazing. I genuinely have loved living here and i'll definitely be sad to move out next year. It's 100% the perfect place to live as a Uni Student.
Albert Place is a great accommodation. I intend to live here for the entire course of my four year degree. The facilities are great, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very friendly.
I love it here at Albert place, its a lot smaller than the other accommodations in the area but in no way is that a detriment. It just means that you never really have to worry about noisy neighbours or communal areas like the gym being busy. Which considering the size of the building, is absolutely rammed with equipment. The nature of albert place is very friendly and it feels like the staff know you on a one to one basis which makes it much more friendly and welcoming. And much easier to ask for something should you need help. As for the flats they are great value for money. You get so much room for the price, for both the rooms and kitchen. The building is also like a 5 minute walk from the uni so leaving last minute for lectures is completely doable Ovearal i love it here and would even consider coming back next year
Couldn’t recommend this accommodation more! 5 stars without a doubt. The open-plan kitchen/living space, is super modern and spacious, with plenty counter & cupboard space. A laundry machine which offers both, washing and drying facilities, is also included in the flat and can be used with no extra charge. There is also a dishwasher which is always a bonus. The living space has a Smart TV meaning flat movie nights are always on! The bedrooms are a blank canvas so it can be decorated to your taste. The other amenities include: a large common room which has a huge TV, and entertainment/games space; an outdoor courtyard with a sit down area and bbq; as well as, a free to use gym with all the basic equipment. To top it all off the staff are super friendly and always on hand to handle any maintenance enquiries. Lastly, the location is perfect, only a minute to the closest convenience store and walking distance to either university. I’ve been here 2 years & cant fault it.
I chose this to be my accommodation this year and I am loving it so far. Kitchen is one of the most modern I have seen in an accommodation with lots of counter space and a nice place next to it to chill with your flatmates and watch netflix, since they include a tv in the kitchen. You also get your own washing/drying laundry machine and a dishwasher. Rooms are spacious and modern with a big desk and a decent sized bed. Also love the facilities such as the gym and the huge TV in the games room. Staff are one of the friendliest and nice I have seen in an accommodation so far. Just an advice, try and get a room that's not on the ground floor as the noise really goes through the walls at night. So far, I am super impressed!
10 out of 10. The place is close to the city center and both unis, there's also a shop within a one-minute walk and one more 5 minutes away. There's also a pretty spacious social area, courtyard with available bbq, and an onsite gym. Flats are modern and well maintained, with a washing machine available without any extra fees. I've stayed there for two years so definitely can recommend it!
