Great staff and for my course I have great industry links

Decent facilities and very good teaching and staff. Very good extra curricular options and good links with Manchester for work experience/ placements. Poor student Union, very little in way of societies and graduate school is bad with coms. Overall very good uni however

Great university. Friendly and social environment. Great support from teachers.

Hi there,Thank you so much for your review. We are delighted to hear about your experiences so far at Manchester Metropolitan University. :) Kind regards,Luke
The University works hard to find me a job! That’s the most interesting part of my experience with Manchester Metropolitan University.
A good uni with lovely staff. It’s in a good location with lots of transport
Its a good university. Have had some issues with units etc but other than that the staff are really friendly and some of the lecturers are really passionate making the lectures more enjoyable. Have a good range of events and an excellent amount of support available for student. They put a big emphasis on sustainability which is something very important to me so I am very appreciative of that. Overall would recommend the university. The issues Ive had I imagine are common place across a lot of universities
Great University, any questions you have you can ask your teachers and they will help you out. The campus is situated in a great location with many things nearby like restaurants and pubs. There is a graduate job scheme as well which helps provide you with valuable work experience after you've graduated which is great.
There's only one thing that lets this university down: The communication between student and staff. I've never faced such difficulty when trying to hear back from someone before. Most of the time, I get no reply, a reply weeks later, or I am referred to someone else (who sends me back to the person I initially contacted).

Hi there, Thank you for your review! I am sorry to hear that you have faced difficulty when trying to contact a member of staff. Are you still wishing to contact the individual? I hope that this has been helpful. Thank you. Luke :)

Absolutely disgraceful institution, especially it's teaching and education courses! The primary education course is run by incompetent staff who fail to support their students and whose teaching is abysmal at best. They should be ashamed of themselves for not prioritising students welfare and safety while they are on placement. Hundreds of students on the primary education course have experienced bullying, intimidation, verbal abuse and felt unsafe around their mentors while on placement. What is the universities response to this? They fail us or tell us to be 'more assertive' or in some cases to apologise to the unprofessional mentor so that they can desperately cling on to their precious partnership schools. I have experienced intimidation and verbal abuse while on placement and I spend 11 weeks being scared to go to placement and crying after every day there. I took all my evidence to the university and begged them to intervene. They did nothing. Disgraceful.

Hello, We are sorry to hear about your experiences. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please contact Janet Lord, the faculty director of education, on j.lord@mmu.ac.uk who would be happy to pick this up with you. Thank you. Luke
Amazing uni with loads of support for students and services to help them along their academic journey. Cares so much about student wellbeing and makes sure to focus on it as equally as it does on the outstanding level of education you get whilst attending here.

Hi there,Thanks for your review! We're so happy to hear about your experiences at Manchester Met! :) Please feel free to make use of our Student Hub should there be anything in the future thta you require and they can help direct you as appropriate. Luke
Great students experience, support given to students are phenomenal, just need to be more organized on the administration side, for example timetable issues

Hi there, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you may have experienced some initial timetabling issues and trust that these have been resolved now. If you are still experiencing issues regarding your timetable, you are welcome to email timetable@mmu.ac.uk for further assistance or you may visit the Student Hubs which can be found on the ground floor of the Business School and Brooks Building. The Student Hubs can also help you with anything else administratively that you may require. We are really happy however to hear that you have had a positive experience and feel supported throughout your life at Manchester Met so far. Thank you. Luke :)
can’t beat it lovely uni with best parties and students going. everything you need is nearby and clubs around are decent aswell. very nice uni with modern buildings mixed with the old.
wide range of societies to join and also have free sports to play every weekday
I'm quite quiet so the lecturers feeling approachable is really great. The facilities are really clean and to a high standard. I really recommend it here
Great facilities and brilliant teaching staff who help you through any problems clearly
Not very good campus community as it’s a city campus

quite good uni, s*** visa team though.
Love this school so much. Only half a term in and it’s already amazing!
Amazing uni 100% would recommend

There are some fantastic teachers that really care

Thanks for posting this review, it's great to hear that you feel so supported by our academic staff. We hope you continue to enjoy your studies with us :)
1st year at school of art Unfortunately haven't had a lot of access due to covid, but when i could the staff and facilities have been amazing! I love it here

Thanks so much for such a positive review. Fingers crossed for face-to-face learning come September! For more advice about the coming academic year please visit: Studying in September 2021 | Manchester Metropolitan University (mmu.ac.uk).
Great experience and lovely staff.

Thank you for taking the time to post your 5* review - it's really appreciated:)
Welcoming and supportive, great location in central manchester, plenty of pubs, bars and things to do nearby.
So many great facilities which are open to all uni students. Would have been better without covid but from what we could do I feel the university made it the most enjoyable they possibly could

That's so great to hear, thanks for your review. Good to hear you're enjoying our facilities and your studies despite the difficulties caused by the Covid pandemic. Let's hope for a healthy and happy 21/22 academic year!
Very good support for students
Havent had a chance to enjoy anything since everything has been online

Hi there. Thanks for your review. We've obviously had to stick to Govenment guidelines in relation to teaching and learning during the Covid-19 pandemic but are sorry to hear that you've not been enjoying your online studies. Our aim is to offer all students a full on-campus experience from September 2021. For more information and teaching and learning for the upcoming academic year, please visit the designated section on our website: Studying in September 2021 | Manchester Metropolitan University (mmu.ac.uk). Wishing you healthy and happy studies come September! :)
Great place to study and good facilities

Thanks for your review! Great to hear you're enjoying studying with us! :)
Hard to rate these when we haven’t been able to attend almost anything or join clubs but the campus facilities are great

Thanks for your review. We appreciate that the past year has been difficult for our students in terms of experiencing the University as a remote learner. We are hoping to be able to offer face-to-face teaching and learning from September, although this is obviously subject to Government guidance. Please see our website for up-to-date information about this: Studying in September 2021 | Manchester Metropolitan University (mmu.ac.uk). Please let us know if you've got further questions :)
Good everything is good quite good

Thanks so much for your 5* review! It is very much appreciated :)
Joanne answered to all of my questions today, which were many. She was polite, helpful and nice.

Thanks so much for your review! Glad to hear that you enjoyed one of our Virtual Open Days :)
Having moved to Manchester in a pandemic, I have found the facilities and socials very easy to access and they are very welcoming.

Thanks for this, it's great to know that despite the challenges of the past year we've still maintained our reputation as a friendly and welcoming University. Best of luck with the rest of your studies :)
Manchester metropolitan is a good university. Wide range of many courses to choose from & very experienced lecturers to help you with need be.

Thanks for your review. It's great to hear that you're enjoying your time with us :)
Haven’t really experienced everything due to Covid but on my course the facilities are good and there seem to be lots of clubs. So close to the city too
The facilities are great, with good internet and home environment. The staff are very friendly and can find them to repair quickly when there is a problem with the room. There was a hole in the wall of our kitchen one day. After the problem was reported, the maintenance staff repaired it the next day, and the problem was quickly resolved. Super efficiency and enthusiastic service, especially at this bargain price, it is hard not to give a five-star.

Thanks for such a fantastic review! We're really happy to hear that you've had a great experience with us :)
A nice university with lots of good facilities. The staff try and help you as much as they possibly can and they are really helpful.

Great to hear you're enjoying life here at Manchester Met! Best of luck with your studies :)
In this special year, I failed to experience the campus life. I've been taking online classes at home. Fortunately, the online class experience was good.
A really great university to study at. I was apprehensive before arriving as I didn't know what to expect, but the lecturers were super helpful and welcoming. I'm really glad I chose to come here.

Thanks so much for such a positive review - we're really pleased you're enjoying your time with us :)
Awful university - do not come here! I wish I went to any other university - MMU support is little to none and when you ask tutors for additional support or have something to say about their teaching, they get hostile and don't want to waste their "time" to support their students even though we're paying £9k. Go somewhere else - you're better off!

Hello. I'm really sorry to hear you feel you've had a bad experience with us. Have you tried addressing these issues with a Student Hub Adviser? Or perhaps speaking to the Student Union Advice Centre? If you'd like to follow this up please email me at courses@mmu.ac.uk. Thanks, Sophie :)
Manchester Metropolitan University provides students with an excellent learning environment. The modern facilities help students develop their skills and capabilities. Additionally, lecturers who are experts in their field create a highly interactive learning environment, a fact which plays an important role in the quality of the courses. The University is fairly among the best universities in the UK.
Manchester Metropolitan University is a fantastic University with amazing academic staff. I am also glad to see that the Uni invests money in order to expand and further improve its facilities and services. I hope it continues to do that. I am certain that the University will have a leading role in the future not only in the UK, but globally as well.
MMU is an excellent uni situated in the heart of Manchester
Due to covid I have no real idea about our campus

We know it has been unusual during this time, we are looking forward to getting back to the campus ourselves as soon as the Government advises and all restrictions are lifted.
I think MMU is a good uni and I’m glad I accepted my offer here. The staff are amazing and always there for advice and quick replies to any enquiries. I’ve had a few issues with the teaching in COVID times in that I’ve not been on campus at all, but other than that they’ve been great and the union are also so helpful.

We are glad you are enjoying your course. We know it has been unusual during this time, we are looking forward to getting back to the campus ourselves as soon as the Government advises and all restrictions are lifted.
Good staff, nice facilities overall would recommend
Kind teachers provide you with plenty of help Student union and student hub both very helpful
We deserve a partial refund of tuition fees

Unfortunately, Covid-19 has affected us all and Univerisites moved to online learning with no warning. Unfortuantely, fees are set by the Government not the instiution themselves. Is there something in particular about your experience that you think warrants this? If you look at our online courses that we offer they have the same fees.
Haven’t managed to gain the full experience due to online teaching but so far everything is good

We are looking forward to getting back on campus too. Hopefully, we will be able to get back to more campus based learning soon.
After completing my UG degree, I'm so glad I chose MMU. The campus is great, modern facilities and unique buildings, loads of study spaces and a really chilled atmosphere. The student union is amazing, so many activities, events, and always something going on there & lots of support services. Well-being and financial services are good. Staff are really helpful, supportive and offer lots of guidance and it actually feels as though the university care about their students. Perfect location right next to the city centre and great sports clubs and societies. Volunteering service and jobs4students scheme are amazing, really helpful and great for building CV's. Absolutely loved my student life here and found I got the support i needed!

We are glad that you had a great time with us during your study. We do have a wide variety of postgraduate courses if you are interested in re-joining us, we would be delighted to see you back.
I loved my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Manchester Metropolitan University! The tutors are so passionate about their subjects and the pastoral support is second to none.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you have enjoyed your studies with us. Remember our alumni still have access to our careers and employabilty hub. Good luck with your future plans.
River street tower offers students a comfortable stay in a shared accommodation facility. With 24 hour security. It is perfect for residents.

:-) That's really great to know. Thank you
great. super great. always loved MMU

It's wonderful to hear that you have enjoyed your time with us, we wish you well with your future plans.
My experience in the university has been amazing! Everyone is so friendly, social life is great because the university is based in city centre but most importantly, you get so much support from the staff and tutors within your university years and after you graduate.

It's wonderful to hear that you have enjoyed your time with us, we wish you well with your future plans.
Zero support for postgraduates yet undergrads get a safety net procedure to protect their grades. Zero support during a worldwide pandemic and marking was unnecessarily harsh and not constructive. Some modules were a total mess with a lack of planning or care. Lecturers ask latecomers to stand outside the lecture theatre but then don't invite them in as they forget to check causing those who commute to waste hours of valuable lecture time. Students who are late are also shamed by some lecturers and embarrassed.

I'm sorry to hear that you have had a less than favourable experience. All our courses have access to the student hub, academic services, personal tutors and careers. It has been challenging with Covid-19 but we have put in new safety measures to ensure we are available to students. If you send me an email with speciifcs of your above statements I will certainly get some action taken. All our postgraduate courses require a considerable amount of independent study as that is what employers look for. Our lateness policy of asking students to wait outside was a result of student feedback saying that students who arrived late disrupted the class. Please email courses@mmu.ac.uk to Antonia. I would like to discuss this further with you.
MMU is not a supportive or communicative university. Do not do your Post grad here. There is very little support, the staff are not professional and the PGCE course is a nightmare. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else! I wish I had.

Fantastic university with lecturers who go above and beyond for their students. Union is seamlessly integrated in University life and make a concerted effort to ensure everyone is involved in social events and aware of what's happening in and around campus. The careers service could do with an update and ensure they provide more adequate help with students CV's etc. and provide more drop in sessions. They also need to be more widely advertised as I didn't know it was available till third year which I felt was too late to do anything by.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. Our student services have just undertaken a massive revamp, with new space for our student hubs, updated technology and are located in our 3 main campus buildings. I will certainly pass on your feedback and ensure that they are promoting their services to students in all years; including our careers and employability hub. Please ensure that our careers and employabilty hub is still available to our gradutes and alumni once they leave us. Good luck with your future plans.
currently enrolled in the Global MBA online course. Worse course and university ever. Tutor does not reply to emails, student advisor does not reply to email. If anyone is considering the global mba couse, take only if you enjoy struggling as no one will answer to your questions. The only email you will receive is the automated email asking you to pay school fees.

We are sorry to hear that you have had trouble contacting the tutors on the Global Online course, the MCC Learning group are the leaders on these courses and we will investigate this for you. We appreciate students' feedback and we will take this to the team and ensure we do better.
Staff and students have been friendly and until covid happened I very much enjoyed the teaching on my course. Communication between the department and students has always been shockingly bad and even worse since. The teaching has all but stopped too. I'm very disappointed with how we have been all but abandoned during this pandemic.

We are sorry you have felt abandoned during this difficult time, the wellbeing of our students and employees remains our top priority. Please don't feel that you are alone, please reach out to your personal tutor and Neil Wilson, who I am sure will be happy to support you and hopefully be able to provide some clarity and updates. You can also reach out to our student support team.
My 3 years at mmu were the best 3 years of my life! I had the best time, the student life was so much fun, loads of society’s and sports activities to do. The business school facilities were amazing, modern and the access to resources was extensive. Lots of great lecturers and support available. I’d do it all again if I could!

We are glad that you had a great time with us during your study. We do have a wide variety of postgraduate courses if you are interested in re-joining us, we would be delighted to see you back.
I'm a student nurse and was extremely excited to attend MMU as it seemed like a great university. Unfortunately I've had nothing but problems with the university, from a lack of communication to being told different information by different tutors etc. This has especially been the case during the coronavirus pandemic, I understand it was unexpected but there has been barely any communication to students in regards to placements, accommodation, exams/essays etc. I would've also hoped for some communication between personal tutors checking up on students but I feel like I've been left to struggle on my own. I really wanted to love this university, I understand that with NMC guidance changing and the coronavirus pandemic there have been a lot of changes, but I had hoped for a lot more support and communication. Perhaps my expectations were set too high, sadly, I wish I had attended a different university. One positive is that the campus is lovely and very sustainable.

We are sorry that you have left estranged from the university. The wellbeing of our students and employees remains our top priority, our staff and students have moved to online learning. However, please be assured you are a priority for us. I understand that our courses with placements have been impacted with the current uncertainty of the current Covid-19 situation. If you are feeling disconnected please speak to your personal tutor or speak to Neil Wilson. I am sure he will be more than happy to help you. We are updating our staff and students on the latest covid information as soon as it becomes available. You can also contact our student support team.
Manchester Metropolitan is a brilliant, laid back type of university. All the lecturers are so friendly and helpful.

We are thrilled that you enjoy our university, why not let your favourite tutors know by nominating them for the Manchester Met Teaching awards. These are a great way to show tutors you appreciate them.
Love everything about the institution . I am happy with my decision

Amazing! We love to hear students are happy with us. I hope you are getting the most of your studies and recreation through our students union.
