Cant be understated how good the location is with respect to both the City Center and the Uni. Rooms and kitchen are pretty tidy and people are really nice. Only problem is things seem to go Out of Order very frequently (like the Gym Treadmill or a Lift) but they are usually fixed soon enough.

Living at Parkway Gate means that you are only minutes from both MMU and the University of Manchester. What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Very friendly and nice receptions always willing to help, common area are nice and clean, good infrastructure but block a’s lift need fixing, otherwise perfect accommodation for students to live in.

I was staying here the first year after opening and it was the best accommodation I could’ve gotten as a first year student. I was originally worried because of online reviews, but this accommodation beat all expectations I initially had. The staff are so friendly, the interior and exterior was just gorgeous, there is a little shop right next to the accommodation, it’s close to campus and it also *was* pretty affordable. The only downside I would say is that it’s not as social as halls would be, but much quieter which I preferred. Overall, I would’ve chosen to live here again if rent hadn’t increased. Thank you Parkway Gate team for making my first year in Manchester so memorable.

The location is perfect for me since it’s only 10 minutes away from the campus. Reception are nice. Only problem is that it was dirty when I first moved.

Parkway Gate feels like a home away from home, the staff are lovely, Aisha and Carol are so nice and always really helpful. The property feels safe and secure and has lots of social spaces. Staying here again next year because I know very few people who live else where who have had such a positive experience with their accommodation.

Would not recommend as we have had multiple issues that don’t get fixed. Lift has been broken since September.

Parkway Gate is a really quick walk to the universities nearby. Located in the city, it is super practical and has lots of services. The study rooms are well kept and perfect to work in. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Aisha has been really resourceful and welcoming when helping out with any enquiries. The rooms and kitchen are also very spacious!
Very happy to read your review. I know the team at Parkway gate does everything to make people feel home. Aisha is fantastic and her customer service is exceptional. Parkway gate is also one of the largest property in Manchester accomodating 754 students within the 3 blocks. The free gym is a fantastic opportunity to stay active. New Medlock house is next to us and you can use their a digital and a live music studio, or the dance studio if you fancy.
The environment is very good! All the things are new, the receptionist of Carol is very good especially.

Everyone on reception are very helpful and friendly. Aisha especially always helps with anything and is always a pleasure to speak to. Only issues with this accommodation is that one of the lifts in block 3 has been broken for over a month now and the wifi is slow sometimes.

On move in day my room was completely uncleaned and still had the mess of the previous tenant in the room. I had to wait two hours for someone to come and clean it and then cleaned myself because of the poor standard they cleaned it to. The WiFi goes in and out constantly and there is no social experience here for freshers as it is full of international and older students.
