Victoria Point is conveniently set a short twenty-minute walk from Manchester Metropolitan University and The University of Manchester. The area surrounding the accommodation is full of grassy areas, pubs, restaurants, convenience shops and shopping centres.
You can meet your neighbours in one of the many social spaces, such as the cinema, outside area, games room and communal living area. There is a gym so you can keep fit and active. To ensure your stay is as hassle-free as possible, there is car parking, laundry facilities, all-inclusive bills, contents insurance and WiFi. All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

good location and close to universities social spaces provided are good however social experience isn’t great, haven’t been able to meet anyone except my roommates even after 2 months. gym is okay with limited equipment. number of laundry machines and dryers aren’t great with only 2 each per block. there’s also only one hoover for the entire accommodation not per block which is pretty rubbish since everytime we want to clean we have to walk all the way to reception. Also it’s a henry hoover which is even worse. additionally our kitchen does not have a window which is a pain as everytime we cook (everyday) the whole flat smells

I stayed in a duplex room in Victoria Point. Generally, the conditions in the block were poor. We had severe and ongoing safety concerns with one of our flatmates for months, and the staff at Victoria Point did not make any serious measures to help or separate us from this flatmate until we started filing a legal restraining order against them. The block was not cleaned sufficiently. Stairwells generally had an odd smell. Our apartment, despite being clean, was completely infested with silverfish. They would appear daily in our bedrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms. Victoria Point staff made no effort to help us with this. Overall it felt like I paid significantly more than what the accommodation was worth. Wifi was good when it worked but was intermittent. I needed to buy an ethernet cable for my PC since the wifi would drop out consistently. Could not always access advertised social/study spaces as they were located in more expensive blocks which were periodically locked with no warning.

I've spent my first academic year residing in Victoria Point (Block 6) and it has been a lovely experience (this much so I have chosen to rebook) , The reception staff here are very polite , & most minor maintenance issues that I have ran into are resolved in due time ! + The email communication of events or 'important' info that as a resident you need to attend to is great too . I have seen many of mixed reviews for Victoria Point , but my experience of Block 6 has been positive and the Value for money is great too , my room is of big size (although it is a cheaper room) and the large window is such a lovely bonus! My only fault of this space is the thin walls between mine and my flatmates room (which is to be expected) & the Kitchen area , it is quite cramped to share for 4 people and it doesn't have any windows ,so it can get imaginably quite humid (but that comes with the price) , thankfully my flatmates have been positive , delightful & cleanly which definitely helps !

This is a nice accomodation with numerous events throughout the year. Social spaces kept clean and easy to book. They do have circuit laundry which compared to my last accommodation isnt that great but LITTERALLY everything else is better. Rent is slightly pricey but worth it. Staff is very nice and helpful sam is my fave.

I really enjoy living in Victoria Point; I've rebooked and been here for 3 years now. The staff, including Sana, Narmeen, Kaide, Sam, and Caroline etc. have been fantastic. They work incredibly hard and over time to make sure the students’ are satisfied. Even the maintenance team and the night team are very helpful. The facilities like the gym and cinema are great, and the place is always clean and tidy, which I appreciate.

This is one of the best private accommodations I have found so far. Five stars seem almost inadequate to reflect my phenomenal experience at Victoria Point. From the moment I arrived, I was treated to a sense of home-away-from-home that surpasses all other student accommodations I've ever encountered. One of the most striking aspects of my stay here has been the outstanding level of service. The staff members are not just well-trained; they are warm, inviting, and seem to have an intuitive understanding of the unique needs of students. Helpful, friendly staff, building always kept clean, and maintenance are always quick to respond when you need something fixing. I always felt too shy to speak to staff in all my previous accommodations when I needed anything, but the staff here, especially Sana and Sam, have been so friendly and chatty that I don’t feel so anxious :) Accommodation is close enough to the university to walk, and there are plenty of shops nearby for groceries.

Narmeen super friendly and welcoming when I first moved to the accommodation, couldn’t be more helpful and approachable. Les on the night team has also been really helpful when I needed. All the staff generally are very friendly and approachable which is great, and it’s fantastic being able to contact someone 24/7 if needed. ~15 minute walk to Oxford Road where you can get very regular buses to fallowfield/withington (great for me needing to travel to the Christie Hospital/MCRC) and also towards campus then into city centre ~20-25 minute walk to Uni of Manchester campus through Manchester Royal Infirmary which feels safe

Taken over the room from the previous tenant (Is a Jan starter) & was ABSOLUTELY amazed by how good this place is. The price is nice for an ensuite, and it has everything you ever need to call home :) This was my first time in the UK so apparently I have no friends, but they always have lines and lines of activities to ensure that my experience here isn’t lonely. Gotta love the book-swap on World Book Day. The queries were solved on timely manner; I have never been left hanging whenever I put fourth my concerns or raising any issues. Shout out to everyone in the VP team, both night and day team. Y’all have been amazing! Keep being awesome

I’ve had a great experience with staying in Victoria point this year, I’ve rebooked it for next year as well. The staff is all lovely, wade and les on the night shift have been great, always let us into the cinema room. Great experience overall

Victoria Point is a great place to live. Easily accessible to the uni and to supermarkets. It provides everything that you could need for a uni accommodation. Great sized rooms. The staff are exceptionally friendly and are always willing to meet your needs. Overall, it is a great community. I have nothing to fault.

All the staff are so friendly and helpful, I have regular trips to reception and always come back satisfied. One of the staff members, Callum, is always around and happy to help, and social areas are well prepared and a fun space to hang out in.

I’ve been able to meet so many good people and close friends at the social events. I could not thank the staff enough for how accommodating and kind they all are, Nameen, Callum and Les have been especially helpful through a few problems I’ve had with outside parties. The accommodation itself is perfect, always clean and well looked after, never had noise problems, and the facilities are great. Only negative would be the WiFi connection being a bit poor.

This accommodation is placed very nicely for the University of Manchester, and has cheap takeaways and convenience stores nearby. The site has many social facilities - a games room with poop and table tennis, TV lounges, study rooms, a gym, and even a cinema. These are kept up to top standard and are easily bookable. The site staff are simply superb - real, helpful, and funny people, especially Nameen, Callum, Shane, Wade, and Lez. They are incredibly responsive, patient, and caring, and transform this place from some blocks of flats to an actual community.

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed living at Victoria Point for this academic year. The social spaces are second to none, as well as homely rooms and a pleasant location near enough to town that you don't feel disconnected, but also not right on top of the noise and business. A shoutout needs to be given to the maintenance staff who solve any issues I have super quickly. But the crown jewel is the staff at the reception - such a friendly and upbeat group of people with personable attitudes that make you feel like more than just a temporary resident. (Honourable mentions to Narmeen, Kaide, and Sam - no problem is too big or too small, and your help and care have not gone unnoticed, so thank you!). If this wasn't my last year at uni, I would be staying 100%!

After moving in to this accommodation, i have met many of my friends here. I love the social spaces, study rooms and gym that all come included within the price! The staff are all amazing and have been great not only when ive gone through rough periods but also just to have a chat with. Love victoria point so much and ill be rebooking to stay here next year!!!!

I’ve been at this accommodation since September 2023, and I’ve already rebooked to stay for 2024/2025. The reasons are simple: 1- Customer service is outstanding (Narmeen, Sana, Sam, Caroline, Kaide I’m looking at you)! 2- Social spaces are fantastic! 3- Close to bus links and local shops. 4- Regular events that cater to people of all different backgrounds. All I’ll say is for the price you’re paying and the servuces that you get in return, you’d be delusional to think you’d find another accom that comes close to VP. Just my two cents though 😊💯. L

I enjoy the social space as I get to socialise with different people. It I close to the town so within walking distance to the shops. The WiFi is decent as it is fast and never let's me down. It is value for money as the accommodation has got what I need for the money that I spent. My accommodation is clean including the bathroom and the kitchen.
I have had such an incredible experience with this accommodation and its team. They’re extremely helpful and the accommodation itself is worth the price. I am already planning to stay here onward with my 2nd year of uni. The social spaces are great and I love living here

Stayed here for 2 years, didn’t have any issues at all first time and my stay was brilliant. Had good flat mates and staff were pleasant. This second time has been a completely opposite! Firstly, prices of rooms are ridiculous for what you get. The lack of assistance and uncaring nature of management and night team doesn’t make your stay welcoming. Secondly, major problems are neglected and left to grow into completely preventable issues that have been extremely frustrating. This doesn’t help on top of university stress which had me dreading coming back to my flat. Finally, seeing how drastically things around here have deteriorated is the reason why this review is rated so low. The good aspects of some few staff is dwarfed by the vast negatives of the others and my experience here as a whole. In conclusion, don’t waste your money here. There’s much better choices.

Living at Victoria Point allowed me to meet a lot of people from my course and we always had the chance to hang out together in the common area. Tha day staff was always very kind, and willing to help with any questions and concerns. In my experience any maintenance faults were always dealt with quickly. Overall the premises were always clean and the location was excellent with a fairly wide range of shops in the area. I absolutely loved my time here! :)

The location is great, the social space is amazing as it can be used for socials or just for studying. The only complain will be the fact that the wifi gets weak all of the sudden or sometimes even vanishes

The Victoria point staff are the best part about living here, very helpful and friendly. Have had some maintenance issues that took a while to resolve but was given just eat vouchers to apologise for the inconvenience. generally just good value for money big rooms and lots of amenities.

- silver fish in the bathroom and bedrooms and kitchen cupboards - freezer kept filling up with ice and nothing was done to fix it - flat was very small for the price, didn’t get a seating area or anything - the rooms were decently sized which was a plus - wifi was constantly unstable, complained many times to the wifi providers but nothing improved

I booked at the last minute, not knowing a great deal about the accommodation or anything about who I could or couldn't be living with, and I don't regret a thing about it. The staff in the office have been absolutely class tbf they have always been a good laugh, and the people I live with have been top draw from the first min I meet them. I hope whoever gets my room next year has as good of a time as I've had.

I absolutely loved living at Victoria Point during my time as a student in Manchester. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with any questions or concerns I had. The communal spaces were a great place to hang out with friends and the gym was a fantastic way to stay in shape. The location was also unbeatable - I could easily walk to both of my universities and there were plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. During my unforgettable six-month stay at Victoria Point apartments, it felt like a dream come true. The property management team was always available, no matter the hour, and they welcomed me with genuine smiles that warmed my heart. I can still recall the feeling of being valued as a resident each time I encountered them. The communal areas were always immaculate, while the studio apartment itself was a cut above the rest, boasting the largest living space in the area. The cozy sofa and TV set-up were perfect for relaxing, and the picturesque clock tower view from the bathroom was simply breathtaking. I found the spacious kitchen to be a delightful space to create culinary masterpieces. The apartment complex was a haven of tranquility, and I cherished the peaceful atmosphere. It took only about 18 minutes to walk to the Manchester Library, making it the perfect location. I feel privileged to have chosen this apartment, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

never get any privacy constantly people coming into your flat they set up some good social events and maintenance issues get solved quickly however they need to work on giving more privacy to their tenants and try do less room viewings

I like this accommodation and it is the cheapest one with an ensuite room. The staff is generally helpful, but there are two issues. 1- There are loud noises that come regularly from behind Block 4, and I have complained about it and they said they can do nothing. The noise is from 6-8 am and from 5-8 or 9 pm. It is really annoying, and they should deal with it in some way rather than giving excuses. 2- They say that the reception is open on weekends from 10 to 6pm and accepts deliveries. This is not true. It is open on weekends for random times. Part of why I chose this accommodation was that I was supposed to be able to accept deliveries at any time. I even called them before I booked to check. That turned out to not be true.

So I'm a second year. And the first year was better than the second year. Certian rules have been put into place I'm not too keen on for example only 15 people in the social spaces. I'm not that sociable but mates know people who might want to come to parties. Lots of love Alex
