I graduated from Leeds Trinity last year and it was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had to deal with. I did a Secondary Education, PE and Sport degree and the PE/sport side was appalling. There was no relevancy to things you would do in secondary education PE and you would most likely be laughed at if you tried to do them. We spent 2 hours doing underarm throws with a tennis ball, something that you’d do in key stage 1. We weren’t taught how to teach a skill, the lecturers either assumed we already knew how or didn’t bother telling us and then expected us to teach other people. The marking of essays was all over the place/feedback was contradictory. Most lecturers just read off the PowerPoint for 3/4 hours which was really tedious. I lived at home and it took me 2 hours to get to uni and if a lecture started at 9, I would be early, yet most lecturers waited till everyone arrived which was often 9.20-9.30 and they lived on campus. No help/prep for PGCE interviews.
Amazing university, with social spaces and jobs at the university for students
Brilliant university with a very supportive group of staff throughout each department who offer tones of help and advise no matter of the situation.
Leeds Trinity is a campus uni, but regardless of whether you live on or off you still feel like home!! The facilities are amazing and there are clubs/societies for wveryone.
Lecturer supposed to be supervising final year project went on holiday two weeks before deadline and only came back day of by which time feedback was to late to be given which in my case would have ment the difference between a 2:2 and a 2:1to my degree overall. At this point I've had more use out of the free hoodies than the degree itself. Not spoken to any fellow students or lectures since leaving and only contact from uni was harassment by the alumni association. Halls of residence were outdated and subpar in some cases. Public transport to and from uni sporty and unreliable at best and car parking was extortionately high with ruthless traffic wardens. All in all I feel I wasted my 3 years there and wish I chose a different course and uni.
Such a great Uni! BETTER THAN BECKET
Amazing uni love it here the staff are amazing the awful thing is the parking they have no help for you on that front it's like having to pay to park on your own drive I have to wake up at 730 to move my car each morning and then go back to pick it up
Wifi is likely poor due to location and availability
Nice Uni with lovely people, only fault is it’s based in a quiet area, being a city girl it’s really boring to live in Hosforth.
Societies only really for people into sport. Campus needs an update. Never anything really on at the SU. Careers service say placement is a requirement of module yet don’t have any placements in Leeds for the law degree. University is in the middle of nowhere. Overall not a lot to do unless you play sport. Gym is small. Hard to make friends.
