The University is better than I expected, it really has everything in it, it’s modernised and new is most of the parts. I am loving my experience so far and my course is just exactly how I wanted it to be xx
There are plenty of libraries to study in with a tracker of how many seats are in use on each floor which is very useful. WiFi can be a bit temperamental sometimes but definitely good enough to study.
Great city and great university to study at. A wide range of subjects and great supportive staff.
Great library materials and resources
Great uni with great amenities and amazing teaching staff.
Great accommodation and lovely helpful staff! In a nice location not too far from the campus
The university has decent facilities, but I expected them to have better and more modern facilities, especially for computer science for example.
The university of Edinburgh is really good, the only issue I’d say is it does feel like they drop you in there. I understand University is self study but it can be sometimes hard to understand what they ask of you to do but then have to navigate where to find what they are asking. But apart from that the university does a good job and creating events and having lots of things running at the same time to keep people interested.
Edinburgh is a good university with adequate facilities
The library is very accessible and there’s a variety of books. The campus is really historical and pretty!
The city is so beautiful and the buildings are pretty
It’s been great so far, teaching is amazing and the campus is beautiful
Good experience Good experience Good experience Good experience Good experience
Helpfull stuff, great academic material access!
Love the careers service over everything else. All other aspects are great too, just not a stand out.
I’m a sport student- the campus is gorgeous and the resources available are very helpful - also love the gym
The university provides me with good facilities, they ensure the safety of students when incidents occur.
Good but not much to do in societies
Provide great supports in all aspects
Really lovely place to live in!
Very good university. I hope I will have more face to face courses on the second semester
World-class university with excellent lecturers and wide set if facilities and clubs.
It's my home now, the stuff is supportive and they care about my career
Exactly what you would expect, everything is well ordered, efficient and the quality of teaching is excellent.
I like Uni in Edinburgh a lot, due to covid, in-person teaching hasn't fully resued yet but my tutorials are in-person and they're really good.
This is one of the most prestigious universities in UK and you will find one of the best facilities and faculties in the entire world. I am having an amazing experience over here.
Didn't use the facilities much as everything was hybrid this year.
Edinburgh has always been my dream school. I like the city, the people, the landscape, the intellectual environment, everything here! The courses are really hard but worth all the effort! The tutors are kind too.
Great uni, nice and big campus, with a lot of activities.
excellent place to study and live
I haven’t been on campus due to COVID unfortunately.
Wasn’t in campus much thanks to covid
It’s been difficult this year with covid however I think it’s been great still being able to stay in halls for a half uni experience.
Overall a very positive experience, staff have been helpful with issues and the accommodation has been well maintained
Edinburgh is such a historic university
Had a wonderful 4 years here. I am graduating soon and will be very sad to leave
Studying in Univeristy of Edinburgh is a wonderful experience which over my expects. I met excellent professors like Judith, Burkhard which helps me a lot in the course and I met good classmates, They are all warm-hearted, kind and hard-working! I really love this univeirsty and this city!
I love my university, I've been enjoying it since the beginning. Only biggest thing is covid and I assume everyone's had a rough time since that started.
Great university, although i think research opportunities, teaching quality and course selection would be better criteria for this review
A wonderful place for those who want to study, experience peaceful and meaningful college life. An attractive city and inspirational community. I am glad I chose to study at the University of Edinburgh.
So far, the university seems great even though I haven't really be able to experience a lot of things given the pandemic.
Great internationally-renowned unversity, one of the top worldwide.
During COVID a lot of things were different and we were unable to experience them, but the courses where pretty good even done online.
My professors were friendly and knowledgeable.
I rated everything a 3 because I can count on one hand the amount of times I went to campus this year.
The staff here are very helpful and dealt well with the situation today. I hope I can meet them in real life soon, but overall I am satisfied with the services they provided at the moment.
I’m not located on the main campus and as a post graduate have less to do with the clubs and societies etc
Great university, love the city and lots of great people. Love my ellective courses and my lectures have worked really hard through the pandemic.
A scam!!!! Do not trust this school!!!!
A great uni! I'm very happy with my course
It's a great university, everyone i met was really friendly, the staff open minded and always ready to help. However i feel like they could have supported us more during the pandemic..
Overall a good University at every perspective. Most of lecturers teach their course very well, but the student demonstrators generally cannot teach at all. The course work feedback is sometimes very limited.
Well supported on my MSc programme!
A historic and prestigious university that will provide you all the valuable resources (both material and non- material) for pursuing and finding the knowledge.
Overall good uni life just not a good course.
The university is very good, and most of the teachers are very friendly to the students and always answer any questions. Due to the epidemic situation this year, I can't attend physical classes, so I don't have much experience and understanding of the school in many aspects.
Unfortunately I haven't seen much of the university due to Covid. The facilities I have seen and used so far are great and the staff are very helpful.
Really good university. Would recommend to others.
Very supportive with the stuff and study facilities!! High standards of teaching it is a special year, but I learnt a lot
V diluted experience due to corona, so therefore feel cannot make an objective judgement of the university so far. Hoping for improvements next year once societies are allowed to function fully
Even though I did not visit the campus because of the Covid-19 restrictions, my time there was amazing. The lectures are doing their best through online learning and are always there for us when we need help.
Great place to study, location is excellent.
Absolutely recommend! The university can seem a bit daunting at first if you’re not from a piece keyed background, but once you find people you can bond with, your experience will really come together. Staff and facilities have always been excellent, the city itself is beautiful and fun, and there are lots of opportunities around :)
So far my university experience has been pretty good! COVID has impacted how many societies are run but the few I joined were lovely and the careers service has been really useful so far, the careers hub has many internship postings from the uni or other places which is great.
MAGICAL EXPERIENCE! Believe it or not this is one of the best universities experience you will have, Especially when you get a chance to study in the old college.
Great place to study. Main campus is really nice, science campus is located a little bit far out. Quality of teaching is very good. Research opportunities are very good with very high level of research being conducted on campus. Overall very happy with my experience.
There’s always a lot going on to keep you busy and active and they’re very accommodating to individual circumstances - both personally and academically
great staff very friendly and nice
One of the best universities around the world
From the short time we were allowed on campus it was a fabulous experience, online learning has been difficult for everyone but the lecturers made the most of it and helped us with everything we needed
Best university in the world in the best city in the world.
I think the university of Edinburgh is really a beautiful university in my eyes,It is old and have a long history ,It’s very lucky to study here
I think the living environment here is very good and safe because it is accomodation. And it is convenient to shop because the Sainsbury’s and some other supermarkets are close to here. The staff are also very friendly. They have provided me with a lot of help!
COVID pandemic make it challenging to participate activities held by University
they make me feel like somebody
Lots of interesting societies to join and also very good at teaching the course that I am taking.
Top university but should provide more facilities eg working areas during the pandemic. Furthermore, a lot of the lecturers are not too good, and can be quite boring. Others are great however.
Lovely university in an amazing location. Really happy with the efforts made to adapt to covid situation. Clubs are the best!!
Nice accommodation! Nice reception staff! They always deal with some problems in time and they can help us receive parcels, it's so convenient.
The University of Edinburgh has a very vibrant environment where you will be surrounded by students who are not just enthusiastic about learning but also friendly and upbeat. Despite everything being virtual, there will still be plenty of events going on for you to meet new people.
I was a visiting student for 6 months during a global pandemic, so i didn´t get to see much of the campuses, as all the lectures were delivered online. But It was a very good service and I recieved a lot of support in that aspect. There are a lot of institutions aimed to help students in different aspects, it is a place where I felt welcomed.
Due to the special situation of Covid-19 this year, I didn't go to any class in campus, so I don't know much about the school. It was a pity that I had this kind of experience of studying abroad.
support in hybrid learning period
My academic experience is pretty influenced by the pandemic, because every courses are online and I don't really know the campus; but I see through the emails the engagement of the clubs and the organisations of the whole university.
I am having a good experience at the university so far, it has a lot of societies and events (unfortunately not this year). I particularly like that there are so many nationalities, it really is diverse and you get to meet so many different people. The main campus is beautiful and has good facilities. However, King's building campus is way too far, the commute has always been a hassle for me and there is always some construction going on which are pretty noisy during the classes. Apart from this I am satisfied with the courses available and like having so many teachers for each course.
Great Student Union and Careers Services. Many opportunities available for personal and academic growth and improvement.
Management has been poor during the pandemic, policies have clearly been formulated to milk money from international students instead of helping us out. First, I was told that we would have hybrid learning, only to learn that my course was fully online only after I had paid for my flight and accommodation here. I stayed at Pollock Halls for only 2 weeks and gave up and moved out, I was supposed to be in self-isolation but meals were delivered irregularly and not of sufficient quantity or quality – I would receive something like 3 apples, 3 chocolate bars, a bread roll, a tiny container of some cold 'main course' and soup that came in a block. There were days I did not receive meals as well. The Optify wifi at Pollock was terrible, I could not attend live Q&A sessions or tutorials unless I was using my own hotspot. Thankfully there have been some improvements after formal complaint letters were sent to the University Management by the Students Union, but not much.
Alright uni. Be prepared to do a lot of independent work, if that does't put you off then its a great environment to build discipline.
The campus is really beautiful and there are a very diverse range of courses provided. It is a really great University when everything goes smoothly. However, when this is not the case it is disgraceful. The support is shocking and any complaints raised are batted away if they are even responded to at all. If you are looking for a hands off University this is the perfect one. However, as soon as you have a query or a worry about anything from academic marks to mental health, the University does not want to know you.
Although the university has been quite frustrating this year in terms of supporting students through COVID-19, there are also lots of benefits. I have not been on campus yet but I chose the university for their buildings (especially the library) and I know how nice they are. One of the best parts of Edinburgh is all the clubs and societies - it's very easy to sign up and get involved with whatever you want to do, and the Students Union are similarly as approachable. I have not used the Careers Service yet as I am a first year, but email communications from them have been really helpful and insightful.
It was a great opportunity to study at The UoE. However, the pandemic made it very hard and the experience not that good either. Hybrid was 98% online, teachers tried to make the most out of it but the principle just did not gave any compensation or acknowledgement to the students.
Lectures are generally nice, lectures are good. I'm not a social person so I did not join the clubs but overall I like my university:)
I really enjoy attending this university for many reasons, from the lecturers, to the facilities and to the people in my course, they have made my uni experience amazing.
Not been to campus before but so far the online support has been great!
The University of Edinburgh is one of the best unis in my opinion. Even though I started university with the coronavirus (how nice) I have managed (through events organized by the university) to meet a lot of great people. Unlike some other unis, the U of E really tries to do everything it can to give in-person tutorials of workshops which is great and quite a relief. Other that n that the city is awesome and allows you to do soo many different things.
Great university in a lovely city. Super friendly cohort and tons of opportunities to pursue hobbies on top of your studies. Easy access to exploring the rest of Scotland/Europe, and locally tons of gorgeous walks to take when you need an escape from work!
The University has great research facilities while full online classes may not be worth it considering the tuition fee.
This year the university has adapted online learning and what a mess it is. It is the worst learning experience I have ever had in my life. 3/6 courses put no effort in and the ones that do are always behind schedule and yet us students has to submit everything in time. The ones which put in no effort are just impossible to understand what the lecturer is trying to teach. what my A-level teacher explained in three hours was spilt into 6 sections through three weeks and yet I still cannot understand what the lecturer is talking about and had to pull out my A-level notes to help me. This should not be happening. and what is worse is that it's the best one out of the three subjects. The worst one doesn't explain a thing. Lecturer just reads as his cursor moves along the PowerPoint slides and when he gives example questions he says you write this into this and you get this on the right hand side with zero comment on what any of it does. Please do not apply with online learning in place.
Good experience here. The professors were knowledgeable and generally approachable but the student development office and the advice and mentorship they offered were amazing. It was definitely a nice mix of academics and social life.
Learning at Edinburgh is always great it’s just the student support lacking that the uni doesn’t ever seem to want to resolve.
