Very good university to attend with a lot of access to services that are helpful to my studies. A lot of opportunities to meet people and interact with new friends. Staff are very helpful and easy to find/ contact
Satisfied with the facilities but not the course set
I like my university, I’m proud to be part of it. But with rising costs and our SU focusing on stuff unrelated. It feels disconnected.
Campus is massive, All buildings at one place
Fantastic university and wide range of things to get involved in.
I haven’t used many of the services at the university so I can’t comment on those, but I enjoy my course, facilities such as Levels cafe and Moray house library, and university staff are always kind and helpful
I don't engage much with the student union or careers service, but the campus is full of posters and I receive regular emails about opportunities so I assume they're effective. The campus is beautiful, with pretty good facilities. There's Potterrow, a social/study space that offers cheap food for lunch and dinner (each weekday there's a different offer on, eg Burger Mondays), as well as a campus shop. There are many student cafes, such as the one in George Square, which offer affordable snacks as well as hot and cold drinks. The main library is huge and open 24/7, and there are many other libraries such as the Law Library and Architecture Library at Old College, which can be accessed even by students not studying those courses (using your student card). There are tons of societies, though I found many to be academic/political related rather than a hobby. If you're an international student there's probably a Soc for you (many nationality Socs) to help make friends.
It's a good experience as an international student. Classes are good and the staff is constantly reaching out to help you in the process of settling in. The city is great, although the food (as it does in most of the UK) tended to be pricy and overall mid. Great coffees!
Good university with plenty of interesting societies to join!
An incredible campus with a very kind workers and a perfect library
The campus is a perfect mix of historic charm and modern facilities, offering great study spaces, well-equipped libraries, and plenty of areas to relax. Whether you’re looking for quiet study spots or social spaces, there’s something for everyone. One of the best parts of student life here is the variety of clubs and societies. There are so many options to meet new people, explore hobbies, and get involved in different activities. The Students’ Union is also a highlight—it’s well-organized, active, and really enhances the student experience with events, support, and social opportunities. The Careers Service is excellent, providing valuable guidance on job applications, internships, and postgraduate opportunities. They genuinely go the extra mile to help students with their future plans. Wi-Fi is generally reliable in most areas, but it can be spotty in underground spaces or some older buildings. Despite that, my overall experience has been incredibly positive.
The university itself provides such great facilities in terms of the gym and study spaces which are easy to book. I haven’t had too many experiences with the students union.
It’s been good so far. Some facilities are better than others, the old facilities definitely need to be improved. Wifi is generally accessible and works on most of uni campus.
The KB campus is very close and convenient, and there's a big shopping mall right next door.
Fab uni, well organised. Teaching is outstanding. Lecturers are so knowledgable. Thoroughly enjoying my time here and glad I get to experience Edinburgh university.
Everything is perfect, the Wi-Fi is very good
kings building is only a 10-minute walk away, which is very convenient. Friendly staff, very comfortable experience
Not the biggest fan of Edinburgh university compared to other smaller universities but, being large, it does have a lot to offer, however it does feel less personal being in lectures of 300-400 people
Very good experience overall. Met a lot of friends and the knowledge taught is very good. The campus has various of facilities for us to use, which is cool.
My experience at the university of Edinburgh has been great, with amazing facilities, and a wide variety of societies to choose from. Teaching has overall been of outstanding quality, and I have found the majority of my courses really enjoyable and rewarding.
I have really enjoyed being at this uni!
Great facilities on campus to help with learning and great staff to provide details lecturers who are eager to help
Living in Huxley Studios has been a mix of convenience and challenges. The location is great—close to campus and essential shops—making daily life much easier. The facilities are generally well-maintained, and the common areas create a great space for socializing. However, occasional noise and minor maintenance issues can be a downside. Despite this, the experience of living independently and meeting new people has been invaluable. Overall, it’s been a memorable part of my university journey!
Amazing university with great faculty and helpful admin
As an international student, I really love the University of Edinburgh. The historic campus, strong academic atmosphere, and vibrant student life make it an inspiring place to study. The library is fantastic, with a great environment and long hours, perfect for both solo study and group work. Professors are professional and supportive, and seminars encourage active discussion rather than passive learning. The only challenge is the weather—strong winds and early winter nights—but cosy cafés and a hot chocolate make it better. Overall, it’s a great place to learn, grow, and explore!
Hope to solve the employment problem
It is a nice experience in Edinburgh
Education facilities - such as seminar rooms and lecture theatres - are very comfortable, easily accessible and you can always get a seat. The sports facilities are very modern and enjoyable to use. There is a wide range of clubs/societies for all interests - personally the sports side of things is amazing.
Good experience at the University of Edinburgh
amazing facilities and opportunities for study
many great opportunities to explore and try new things that weren’t available in small home towns
Decent uni campus and resources. Wifi is sometimes unreliable and library space to student ratio could be improved.
The University of Edinburgh is a perfect place for students who will have access to many different facilies and help
There are so many societies to choose from, with great welcoming events and information. The student union has many opportunities and things like party time employment for students.
It is a great experience. It gave me a lot of warmth and was a nice experience.
The university is phenomenal as it is tough in its grading but that makes the education worth it
Nice uni but hard to find societies sometimes
Decent activitiea and career support, could be a bit more specific and proactive.
Love the university, great city and great people
It’s a good place for studying
best uni in scotland hands down, not biased at all
Staff here are really nice and helpful
The accommodation environment is very good, the rent is also very cheap, and the front desk service is also very good. I am very satisfied with all aspects.
Great academically and socially
Best student accommodation I’ve ever been with. Lovely room with nice view, clean building, 24/7 security and helpful staffs! Although it’s not close to my university, I am very happy living in the Mill House because the gym, shops, bus stops everything is so close! Also Murray Field ice rink is just 20 min walk which is super convenient for me as a figure skater!
Great place to stay here at Edinburgh!
Demi an excellent front desk, helping student a lot with many things in the Mayfield Residence.
Had a negative experience with Well-being Services as well as issues with my masters research supervisor
Really good and supportive! Both university and school staff are really patient and available to provide any help, the study and life facilities very various
The University is good, not heard great things about student support especially when failing modules.
Edinburgh university holds a high standard within teaching and resources, yet many deep-rooted issues fail to be addressed, such as classism.
world-class uni with big international population and friendly community. management is sometimes disorganised but there’s a good number of events throughout the year. campus is gorgeous and in a great location
Free schedule, friendly students and supportive staff.
All the staff are really friendly and supportive. The WiFi is excellent and I enjoy feeling at home in my room and I’ve made loads of new friends
Really enjoying this uni so far, even though in the exam stage
What I like best is the teachers in my school, because I can always get useful help from them.
I love to cook in my room and all the staff are very friendly and the landscape
Thank you everyone at reception
My university provides a supportive and creative environment for learning. The teachers are passionate, and the facilities are excellent, which helps me grow both academically and personally.
Various social activities. Very comprehensive careers service.
All the staff are very friendly and supportive. i love my room and all the facilities and amenities around
I love staying here. All the staff are friendly and helpful
Both the learning atmosphere and the teacher's level are very good. I can improve my academic level and carry out career planning here.
A good accommodation with convenient position and supermarkets nearby. The only problem is the unstable network (can be solved by connecting with network cable :D Demi and Jennifer on reception are very helpful and make the building feel like home
Amazing university with some of the world’s best professors! I’ve felt so at home there and have never ending support from the staff, teachers, and other students.
good univeristy friendly staff
The uni is as welcoming as the city.
Great price, kind and helpful staff. It's great to be able to rent such a great house so close to KB.
Friendly neighbor and lovely environment.
Its a nice place to experience Scottish culture, weather, and learn about the subjects you are interested in
great university. Informed lecturers and good cleanliness
Readings tend to be more helpful than those tutorials.
Great uni, good course options, beautiful city
Great uni with top academic standards, well organised and helpful personal and academic support, great transport provision, great merchandise and top student experience.
Good experiences and good university
This is a great place to stay! The service is humanized and the facilities are complete.
It’s alright nice location and people
The wifi is so fast and the career service is also great which they always have something to offer in every week, whether it is a workshop, a talk show or a career day. For societies and clubs I can’t really tell because I am not participating in any of those yet.
Edinburgh Uni is known for its beautiful campus, being located at the heart of the city. While there definitely are a variety of libraries and other study spaces available for students, it is important to know that the quality of facilities depends on your school, as some have much more space and better study space availability than others. The quality of the faculty is great, and there is a vast variety of course and degree options, which really lets you make the most of your studies. Student accommodation is good, but after your first year you will no longer be guaranteed a place, and finding a private flat in Edinburgh can be quite challenging. There are always many events and society meet ups you can attend, and they are definitely a great way of meeting lovely people!
Overall, I love my study experience at the University of Edinburgh. However, the downsides are that it was super expensive to join sports clubs (especially if I don't plan on participating frequently) and the events organised by the students union do not particularly cater to students who do not attend parties.
Beautiful campus. Lots of greens and affordable bus tickets. Too windy and the weather can get really harsh in winter.
The teachers and staff are amazing. Although I had to take my time to adjust to the new environment and culture the teachers and the staff of my school made sure I feel comfortable and safe. I made great friends.
I just have to say how much I love living at Gateway Apartment. The location is perfect—just a quick walk to campus makes it super easy to get to class or grab a coffee with friends. Plus, there are plenty of grocery stores and parks nearby, which is a big plus for daily life. The apartment itself is really nice. I’ve got a spacious room with lots of natural light and a kitchen that’s great for cooking. The common areas, like the lounge and study rooms, are perfect for hanging out or getting some work done with roommates. What really sets Gateway apart is the community vibe. The management team is friendly and always ready to help out if you need anything. They also organize events that bring everyone together, which has helped me make a lot of great friends. I also feel safe here, thanks to the secure access and good security measures. Overall, living at Gateway has been a fantastic experience, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay while studying.
The staff is so nice, and living here is so convenient and comfortable
The location is convenient and there are many supermarkets nearby. It is also close to Moray House School. The environment is clean and tidy, with wooden floors instead of carpets, which makes it easy to clean. It is also friendly to people with allergies. The heating and hot water are sufficient, so you won't get cold. Highly recommended! If there were more washing machines, it would be even better!
The apartment is very nice and quiet. The neighborhood is convenient for transportation and shopping. It's a ten-minute walk to Princes Street. The front desk of the apartment is very friendly and often organizes events and parties with free breakfast, pizza and more. It is also very convenient to sign for express delivery, and the front desk staff will help to put several express deliveries of the same person into categories and put them away, which is very convenient for me to find.
New facilities here is unique compared with other accommodations. Good gym with various facilities.
It’s good! The environment is very beautiful
The campus is beautiful and just a bit out of the heart of the city
maybe better to hold more orientation event in each college
Nice experience, good facilities
Great university, highly recommend.
Nice professors but tooo many readings to be done.
Have not used the careers service but has been a lot of activity recently with events held by them. Campus is incredible and really easy to get to.
Great university!!! I love it!
all in this Prestige Student Living Mayfield Residences is good
I love my experience so far!! My course is everything I asked for, and the professors are really encouraging and supportive. I'm excited for what I can learn in the coming year!
I enjoy the life in Edinburgh~
It's a nice residence. The facilities are new, commuting is convenient, and the sound insulation is excellent.
