The university has so much to offer. Staff are always willing to help and offer support. You never feel truly stuck or alone, and there is always going to be a group/society for you.
really welcoming staff and have made me feel very comfortable
A nice area, lots of opportunities within the university and would recommend
Good place to study. Great staff
Very good university and everyone’s very friendly but some lecturers could be clearer in their presentation and more approachable
Enjoying the uni experience just not the sport teams
Great uni and great staff. good sports facilities. The careers events and services are amazing!
Alright uni however I think transport should be available to campus’s especially for people staying at Exton park and have to travel to Queen’s Park’s
Great uni, no problem here at all, all staff are lovely
I like the uni of Chester staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgable and it is in a good location
Nice atmosphere and lots of support available
Great overall, and easy to use facilities. Reasonably priced foods and good clubs.
Chester uni is a great location and has great support
I study sports coaching, the help I receive from my lecturers Paul Humphries and Jason Clare are fantastic, even in a personal level when I had suffered with a back injury and later with mental health issues they guided me through this tough time and really picked me back up again. Being a committee member of the football is brilliant, the team I work with is great. Being able to Captain Chester mens thirds is a great experience and Especially if you study in the area of coaching or teaching.
Good facilities and a wide range of clubs and societies to chose from.
Chester uni is great, there is literally anything and everything to do on campus. The student union bar is always a blast and the societies are very active. Coming Chester University will keep you happy and active for all the time you study and stay here.
Great university fue buildings are run down wifi needs improving
Good some aspects can be worked on
Great place to study, lots of support to have when you find yourself needing it.
Really good uni good facilities and a great welcoming place for everyone.
Main campus and business campus good but arts campus feels a bit left behind in terms of events and canteen options and could do with improvement
UOC was one of my first choices for unis and i’m so glad it was, every lecturer is wonderful and gives 110% towards each and every lecture, everyone you meet on campus (even the campus cat) is always friendly.
lovely campus everything is close together and easy to access
Been amazing studying here, my lecturers have been brill and the society night outs are amazing
Love the university. It is a very friendly community and there is a wide range of societies to join. Although an outdoors society where you go walking, white water rafting, zip lining, kayaking etc in wales would be perfect!
Clean please to learn and develop
Could be more social activities other than the social clubs.
University of Chester is amazing and I’m really enjoying my first year here. It offers vast amounts of care, facilities and social opportunities for students and is really great overall
Great range of facilities and open times which suit every students needs whether that’s a last night library session or a weekend kick about with mates. The University provides great opportunities to its students
an all round good university, with good careers advice
As a first year I have had a great experience of uni so far! Lectures all really helpful and supportive, campuses are great
It has really supportive staff and nice campus also there are alot of experienced and profesional tutors.
The library was my most favourite place. I live th campus also
I love the environment and help.
Great support when needed and the staff are lovely
High school styled university.
Everything i needed and more with tramways
The Hammond school of theatre is excellent
Brilliant facilities and staff
Great teaching, not so great for social life
State of the art! But I just started so I can’t say frrrr
Mediocre. Could do with a little more effort put into the student union and a golf society.
This is a great university with a amazing teaching style at the business campus
Fun learning and easy to navigate
Really good lecturers and course content just let down by other areas of the uni
Great campus with plenty of space for independent study. Very large library and space for outdoor activities. Very nice student well being team.
The clubs and societies are great there’s something for everyone, the campus is well organized and has good facilities in all departments
The university has great facilities and support for international students. Still too early to say since I just started uni last month.
Lovely place to live. Staff are helpful and friendly
Highly satisfied with the support available for students
Good staff and facilities are always available on hand
A healthy definition of inter-racial acceptance and respect.
Lovely location, helpful staff
I chose to study at the university of chester because the courses offered are accredited by prestigious and professional bodies together with the high employability rate of over 90%. Also, the University is ranked as the sixth best for international students, because of the diversity of the student body population. It is a safe and serene environment for studying and I am excited to be here.
I like Chester university and my lectures are based in the same campus which is really good me.
I’m liking the university and my program :)
Good uni, campus is beautiful Poor wifi literally cannot a good connection anywhere which makes it difficult to check in sometimes Student union don’t really do much activities for people who don’t enjoy late nights, parting or drinking. It would be nice if more day activities were organised
Great university placed in a great setting. Vibrant environment with great staff keeping you from feeling homesick and ready to study.
Had a wonderful experience in terms of the use of facilities and student learning experience but I think the university community via its lecturers were quite hostile to a lot of international students. Most of us really struggled to come to terms with the rigorous academic activities without must support from our lecturers. They need to do better
I’ve just finished my BSc, and I will truly miss living in Chester. Most of my lessons were in Exton/Parkgate campus. I love the campus because it isn’t huge and intimidating, you can quickly find everything you need there and won’t get lost. Everything is close by: the library, shops, accommodation, etc!. So you’ll quickly learn where everything is. The library has everything you need, and you’ll no doubt find the perfect spot to work (whether it’s silence you’re after or a room that is buzzy). The library has vending machines, drinks and food. Careers & Employability staff have always been so friendly and helpful, I’ve never left an appointment feeling unsatisfied. some *minor* negativities I have. In my first year, I lived in halls and had fully catered meals. A lot of the meals there are hit and miss, I lived in Gladstone House and my room was missing a lamp and the uni never replaced it. Some rooms in Gladstone also had ants infesting over the summer.
We had the best experience in the uni and the faculty and the friends we got are really amazing
Okay teaching. Online platform needs improvement
The university is great, would highly recommend
Decent university experience for an international student. The town of Chester is very lovely and welcoming and it’s a good place to start your adult years. The university itself is very big and most of the professors are accommodating and helpful
Very good university, library and lectures
I have enjoyed my time hear so far. The lecturers seem to really care, and the facilities are great. The library is huge with lots of different study areas. Sports and societies are very active.
Campus is nice, especially if you are someone who prefers smaller campus. The staff, especially on my course, are friendly, approachable and always encouraging students to look for wider research and discussion points: it is made clear that disagreeing with lecturers is more than okay - they enjoy hearing different point of view! People here are friendly, there is not a time where safety is a concern.
The university is very spacious and the lecturers are all lovely to speak to and their lectures are clear to understand. The laboratory facilities are really good and easy to use too.
Great uni to be at, lots of opportunities for social interaction and great facilities for leisure and studies
There are loads of great societies at the university especially in terms of sport! The socials have always been fun. There is also a careers service to help you decide your future path after uni and I have found this to be very helpful during my final year.
Good University with great staff and culture.
Fantastic new simulation suites for midwifery. Accessible libraries that offer 1-2-1 study support. Lots of societies. Unfortunately Wifi not always great, especially when a whole cohort is trying to sign in!
Tudor Place truly is a fantastic place to live, being a slightly older (21) undergraduate student, I was really keen to ensure that I found the perfect accommodation to spend my first year of university life. All of the rooms are modern and up to date with fantastic storage (including under-bed), I have a gold en-suite room and the size of the room has been great! The staff are brilliant - they respond to emails quickly and there’s always someone at the desk which is helpful with parcels! There is security on a night time as well as 24/7 CCTV surveillance which is fantastic for making you feel safe and secure. The location is great. I am a midwifery student so my campus is only a 20 minute walk (which is through town too) and placement less than a 20 minute walk down the road. Being so close to the town centre is fantastic for shops and bars etc. I love Tudor Place so much that I’ll be moving into a studio here in September and will hopefully stay there for the remaining 2 years of my
The university building is very characteristic but also modern is some areas such as the nursing department.
The campus has amazing facilities which i’ve found useful and everything is within walking distance and great accessibility!
My experience at Chester university hasn't been great, but that's more due to the department of my subject rather than the uni as a whole. I don't recommend the university if you have disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism etc. I have had to battle for support every step of the way in all of these areas.
Overall a good university not anything to complain about
Great university, lots of support from lecturers
good uni and the facilities available are good
Great university with lots of great opportunities
Great! Amazing support and staff
I joined a badminton club, and the swimming pool is free for students. There is a football ground , is a good place for the people who love sports. There is a library with fully fonction that support me when I need a quiet space to study. And there are many study space in the campus, I never worried about there is no space for me.
University of Chester has all the potentials for international students at any level ranging from foundation to doctorate degree. They have individual campus for major sectors of study. I belong to health care campus located on the bank of river dee which has all the facilities and specific library for health care students. Plenty of space to study even with a large group for research and team work. Best thing for a postgraduate level student.
I like the University, but I didn’t have the opportunity to experience much because I didn’t have offline classes as I was promised.
I honestly do not know where to start with this review. It will be a long one but if you are considering booking the Towpath, I would strongly suggest you take a read. It has taken me so long to write this as I’ve only just processed all the wrong-doing’s and distress that was caused during my stay at the Towpath. I would even go as far as saying that I was ‘gaslit’ into believing that my best interests were taken into consideration and that the situation was dealt with sensitively. When I moved in , I was very happy, my room was clean and the accommodation is situated in a nice area. The kitchen was spacious but the ripped sofa was tatty and full of dirt. I reported this and it was then cleaned. The communal areas seemed nice, although the gym was very disappointing. The first minor issue arose when a tenant had moved out , leaving behind a whole fridge of food and many cupboards filled with their property. When I had finally realised they had moved out , I let the staff know that
Nothing too good or bad either way. Decent uni, friendly staff.
At the University of Chester I am a first year law student. I really enjoy my law course as it’s very engaging and enjoyable. The course is presented very well and the law module leaders are very helpful with all of the help you could need.
30 characters aren't enough to describe about UnOC... It's one of the nicest place with nicest humans on earth
Excellent teachers and very good and environment friendly buildings for students
A really nice university experience, would recommend.
Lectures are friendly and are usually quick to respond to emails, the campus itself is clean with many of the buildings quite modern
Chester university has helped me develop my skills as an engineer in a more real-world application. The campus in first year was fantastic but due to a recent move to a different site, science related facilities have been lacking but and developing slowly back to their initial standards.
The University of Chester is a good uni with a pretty campus. The Exton campus is quite small but has everything you need. There are a lot of societies and sports and the SU is very active. I personally don’t interact much with societies or the SU (hence 4 stars) but my limited experience with them has been great. Overall happy with my choice of UK uni as an international American student.
It's generally alright, not too fantastic management higher up - but my department (TRS) is absolutely fantastic, I couldn't ask for a better department.
Great uni, incredible welcoming, helpful and supportive! Remarkably high academic standards. Beautiful place great campus!
It is good, Thankyou very much for asking
Really great experience! Enjoyed every minute, staff has been great & felt very safe and secure for a first living environment
Nice enough clean campus, quite a good range of societies.
Great Uni to study at. Queenspark Campus is a beautiful place to meet with friends and learn
Due to covid I haven’t really had the full experience yet of university so can’t say much on the clubs and societies
