There’s a satisfactory range of activities/facilities/opportunities here
Pretty decent, provides what you need and maybe a little more.
History department are amazing!
Great place to be all around to be honest
Being a student at the University Of Chester had been a wonderful experience, the library facilities are wonderful, they have a wide range of sports team that you can join and a number of societies that you can be part of they also have amazing food facilities which is brilliant. However the WiFi is poor and systems are often down throughout the year which isn’t always convenient, but the overall experience has been quite good
Great experience so far, first year done
Lovely uni to be at. Would definitely recommend
Really great, small university. It doesn’t get the funding that larger universities get, but the quality of the learning and the social experience is never compromised. Unlike the larger universities, they actually know your name!
Everyone is super friendly and the uni is kept clean
Lovely uni, I have made so many amazing friends and have had an amazing experience thus far
A great atmosphere with welcoming students all around. A wonderful selection of sports and events throughout the year
Lots of student amenities near by, amazing place to make new friends and try new things
Great university that’s has a campus with everything you need on. Great study rooms and friendly staff, library is amazing and has recently been updated.
Chester is a good relatively small university. There are many clubs, especially sports, and events that you can take part in. The campus itself (Exton Park) is easy to navigate and is always clean. The wifi on campus can be a little temperamental, but generally is ok. The lecturers in my experience are all very friendly and genuinely care about the students they teach.
Exton park is old and there is always something broken. The seats in most of the lecture rooms are broken. The SU is small so isn’t used a lot.
The lecturers and facilities at chester have been exceptional. Being on a Masters its different for me to experience social societies as classes i wanted to attend are during the day which i have lectures in that time but I am loving it here
I personally have not had an interaction with the careers team but from what I have heard they are incredibly useful. The campus facilities and wifi are all you could ask for really. They have so many sports pitches/fields which are great for sporty students. The wifi is always perfect. Never had any issues with us especially when working in the library for those more academic students. The clubs and societies are all so welcoming and always a lot of fun on a Wednesday night social.
I mainly use the wheeler campus and i think it’s lovely. It’s clean and there’s canteen selling breakfasts lunch and dinner which is great. The societies in the uni i would say are good but there is not a large range. Other than that great.
This is a really good accommodation with any issues always attended to in a matter of days. Never had a problem living here for the last two years and excited to have booked for a third.
The campus is in a great location and the lectures are very helpful
1. I have thoroughly enjoyed my times here at Granary Studios. From move in week the atmosphere created has been next level, consistent weekly events including freebie Friday. The place is well secure with staff in the office and student wardens at night. The student wardens are very friendly. Cleaning is 100%.
Good uni with regular career help and good sports favi
really good university overall
Great library and social spaces.
Lovely and amazing and brilliant
Lovely campuses with great lecturers
lovely university. Good societies and facilities
Very good uni , more support for mental health and disability’s would be good
Thats really good accommodation and attention with all of my issues. Thanks for that. I feel like home!
The university staff are very helpful and the buildings are well maintained
Very understanding university helpful in every aspect. Will recommend people to apply here you won’t regret it.
Lovely campus, lots of support available
Brilliant Uni to meet people and engaging lectures.
lack of support from my experience, got told to defer the year and wasn’t offered any sort of support.
Lovely site and location, spacious rooms and the library is a plus. I also like the cat on campus, or the group that visit often. WIFI in certain rooms is a hindrance though
Overall great experience, would recommend
University is great. lovely facilities
I found here so lovely, cozy place
I came her due to its location from my home, but I'm happy with the facilities and my course.
Staff are friendly and something to always do on Wednesdays for societies
Chester is alright ! Could be better anyway
Amazing facilities and close to everything such as clubs and socials
Really enjoying university so far and studying at Kingsway campus, there are tons of different societies to join and there’s genuinely something for everyone at Chester
Beautiful campus, amazing library, lots of diversity too.
Its good alot of good socials and facilities
Good selection of societies to join and lecture staff all friendly and knowledgeable
Great range of courses, lots of support offered to help make the experience as smooth as possible
Overall a great university with very accommodating staff and there is always something fun going on.
Chester uni is one of the best choices I have ever made, staff are so supportive and friendly, and everybody is so sociable! Clubs and societies are very inclusive, and very diverse! Couldn't be better!!
Nice campus, always clean and in a good condition. However WiFi is not good atall. Slow and patchy across the whole campus, frustrating when trying to download material for lectures. Needs improvement.
Perfect uni for work/life balance. Would recommend
Uni is good and lecturers are there to support you
It’s okay I guess. Lectures are kinda boring but the societies and socials are amazing. It’s great for social life and interactions
Good Library and other bits and bobs like the cafeteria. Haven’t really utilised SU or Societies or Careers service so not sure. Wi-fi is terrible in most rooms and I can barely log my attendance let alone participate in the internet based activities
Tudor place is a lovely place to stay, all my facilities have been in great condition. My kitchen is good kitchen however doesn’t come with a toaster or kettle but if you split the cost between flatmates it turns out cheap!! The accommodation in total has a gym, study space, games room and cinema room all available to you which is great and they’re all great places to be in. The accommodation is only a 5 minute walk from exton and also from the nearest spoons! Only a 15-20 minute from wheeler campus which is a straight walk down through town centre. It’s a lovely place to live the staff are so nice from all the interactions i’ve had with them and i would most definitely recommend tudor place again to other students. I’ve met some wonderful people through living here and i quite enjoy not being directly on campus. It’s also a gated accommodation which is great especially if you have over protective mums like me.
Great university for a wide range of subjects
The overall campus is great with a mixture of clubs and societies as well as facilities to accommodate your hobbies and interests.
I’ve been a tudor for three years it’s a great place to stay at, with many events that help make friends, very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and is a great location close to the university and city center.
Overall positive review of campus and recourses available to students
One of the best experiences I have had as a student
As a first year psychology student, this university seems to be only a little above average. Their largest course is psychology, and the orientation as well as lectures are average. There aren't a lot of optional modules that stand out from other universities, and there is a definite lack of interactiveness during the lectures. Many of the lecturers don't inspire curiosity or enthusiasm in the students, so it is difficult to be excited about what you are learning. Overall the modules are informative and convey the bare information down, but not a whole lot more. Aside from the academics, the campus is small and very beautiful, with everything being within a reasonable walking distance. Although there is a very limited number of things to do during the academic year since this university is located in a small city, there is a tight knit community feel even outside of campus. I wouldn't recommend this university if you get easily bored, but there are still cool things to do around here.
Very helpful and nice people making you feel very comfortable
Very good facilities, some of the facilities they have are gym and study area. Very satisfied with the staff, they are very friendly and professional.
Friendly atmosphere on campus with plenty of spots to grab food or drink before lectures. Only criticism would be the lack of interest-related societies rather than sports ones.
The university of Chester is amazing it has allowed me so much more space to explore my interests and further my knowledge within my chosen areas, the staff are absolutely lovely and are always willing to help no matter what
Exton park the main campus of chester uni is great, all facilities are great and there are many places to socialise with people, the SU is one of the stand outs for me a great student pub to eat and drink with your friends after lectures or on days off, loads of sports are always on to keep you entertained and ofcourse many activities such as pool. all study halls in chester have left me very impressed because of the clean astehtic and the clear feeling of profesionalism that it leaves me with each time i enter my lecuture or workshop halls. safe to say that i do not regret having chester as my first choice.
Lovely staff, clean facilities and the best events throughout the year! Great place to live!! :))
Great uni with a range of options available
Chester uni is great. I go to the Hammond and love it there
Love the events tramways put on very good 🥳🥳🥳
Friendly staff are always there to help
it has been wonderful, no complaints.
First year was really quiet for me but second year has been great. I’ve joined the swimming team and learnt more about the student union. It’s a great place to be, I feel at home.
Great experience however they could improve the wifi. Staff are knowledgable and help me
really good enjoying it, great teaching too
Very good wifi i have joined some club and socities but not yet had communicatio from them
A large campus with top facilities to help students learn, whilst also having helpful and friendly staff.
I have really enjoyed my time at this Uni. The arts does feel like they were shoved in an old building as to not mix with other students on main campus. Facilities are great, however certain rooms definitely have a smell to them which is characteristic of an old converted highschool. “Main” campuses seem much better looked after in comparison. Most facilities work great and get the job done, however more can be done with onsite canteen, considering this location is not as central to Chester as others - so not many options around. If you want to study the arts, I would bare the location of the arts building in mind when it comes to accommodation and travel costs as in winter, the 45 minutes walk can be unbearable.
All the staff are wonderful and make an effort to hold a conversation. Action about issues raised are done in an acceptable timeframe and there is lots of support for mental health. some of the buildings could be updated however there are plenty of great places to study and all the lecture halls are reasonably comfortable and suitable.
Amazing campus and staff. Poor internet around the environment
Excellent sport societies and social areas
Chester uni, is a very basic uni compared to many others, Chester could definitely improved especially within the music and arts department if it would use outer contacts and professionals for their courses. I think lectures could definitely have a bit more of excitant and could teach courses in a more creative way suitable to the course to help motivate students in their department. We are saying enough as it is and struggling as students financially due to cost of living, if lectures could do a small thing to help, it would be to create more of a team spirit within Uni, and a more creative exciting way to teach courses. At the moment it feels like we just go to uni to get told "everything on Moodle".
Great university with more than adequate facilities for students during their learning period. The options in the library are very vast; you can get information about almost anything.
Great Experience so far, great support
Nice experience and I really love it and would be willing to advise others
Excellent university with lots of facilities and supportive faculty and staff to help in all areas. I am having great time studying at this university.
Central location, easy to find, staff are helpful and inclusive, main campus is simple to navigate.
It’s a good university, but the societies are largely sports based, not for me.
Really friendly lectures at Queens Park Campus
University of Chester provided us with support and I really enjoy studying here since my carrier prospects can improve significantly
I believe the quality of education at the university of Chester is top notch and I’m really satisfied with my choice of studying here
So far been a great university. My accommodation for first year has been pretty bad, but that aside everything’s been great. Course is good, people are friendly, town is relatively cheap by UK standards, lots of courses on offer. Societies could be better (many died during Covid apparently) and internet needs a decent amount of attention, but overall I am a big fan and am looking forward to two more years of fun and memories here.
Okay, my course is mainly off campus so don’t have too much experience on campus.
Chester is a very friendly university, with a great campus, helpful career services and a good range of clubs and societies. I would definitely recommend!
The library is great for studying and is definitely one of the areas I use the most at the university, after the coffee shop!
Great learning experience with good facilities
A great place to study & so many friends to be socially interacting with.
Amazing! Best uni experience so far.
University of Chester provides an open and easy access to all diversities inside the campus which makes academic life easier. Schemes such as cost of living and other benefits the international students in cutting down the living expenses. This initiatives should be promoted to other colleges. There are various clubs and societies under students union which keeps student life active.
Love studying here, the lecturers and other staff are always willing to help and are friendly.
