Loads of stuff going on to get involved with, there's never a full moment.
Brilliant Uni with everything you could need.
Best student experience you could imagine. Halls are such a community and you become close with so many people. So much to get involved in.
Fantastic campus and access to necessary resources. Regular interaction with tutors when required and on the whole a high standard of teaching.
Awesome space, great facilities and people.
A switched on, positive community that isn't afraid to have some fun every once in a while.
The best university if you want a supportive environment, fun times, endless opportunities and a safe campus environment.
Being at Loughborough has brought me great independence as well as an unforgettable uni experience.. From the crazy nights out in first year to all the nights in! I've met many people people through various society's lboro has go offer and just through the lboro bubble! The Uni help you to excel in your studies and offer support and advice whenever you need it. Wouldn't change my experience for the world
World Class facilities! Amazing opportunities to take advantage of.
Could not have made a better choice, everything about the University screams quality! You might think being so male and sport dominated you would come across a lot of 'dislikable' people (put it that way), but the stereotype could not be more inaccurate, great people! job placements/prospects were massive attractions, can't wait to see what 3rd year holds!
Love the massive campus, it has pretty much everything you need! Its nice that most people live on campus in first year so everyone's near by. All the halls have a great spirit, there's always something going on in the uni or something you can get involved in.
Fantastic university with a large, comprehensive campus. Great range of options to study and great support from staff.
I didn't understand how Loughborough could be continually ranked as the best student experience until I got here. What Loughborough town lacks in size, the uni 100% makes up for in the number of things going on, every day, all year round. After probably 60 nights out in the union this year it's STILL my favourite. The sports facilities are obviously unrivalled; the IMS programme has been my favourite thing this year, meeting so many people in the most fun sports tournaments I've ever participated in. Also, the hall spirit is amazing. From the sing off in freshers to the final announcement of hall of the year, I have thrown myself into every opportunity - volunteering, sport, fundraising etc. There is honestly a club or society for everyone, and the more you're involved the better. All the social/extra activities aside, the uni is becoming more recognised for its academic excellence. I have had so much fun and found myself during first year, and never ever want to leave!
Campus has really good facilities and is one of the largest in Europe so I would definitely recommend purchasing a bike or be prepared to do a ton of walking. The Union is setup well and encourages participation and it is easy to get involved with volunteering, societies that cover more or less everything and more. Their careers service is really strong and has been helpful. They will help you get a job/placement and have plenty of advice. Internet is OK but can be unreliable at times in terms of being on campus. Great university with plenty to do.
Really enjoying Loughborough because my course is brilliant and the sport is amazing. A big issue is the nightlife. Due to the sporting culture there is a tendency for the clubs to fill with rugby players and body builders, whilst many are fine others have a testosterone fuelled sense of entitlement and this can create an unpleasant atmosphere. I love the people on my course but there can be some nasty pieces of work around campus.
It was the best decision I ever made coming to this university. Our student experience is incredible, you will never be bored! There is always something to do if you're not focusing on your degree for a few hours. Staff are amazing, attentive, encouraging and supportive and the facilities here are incredible for every subject!
Excellent university with great course quality (I'm a Physics Student). Exceptional social events and nightlife, affordable for everyone. In a small, but homely community.
Best decision I ever made going to Loughborough Uni. Best experience by far.
My course was perhaps the only thing I would change about my time at Loughborough. I think the opportunities available are incredible and guaranteed it will be the absolute time of your life.
Amazing campus. Great plans for nightlife of students. Also, plans for evening / non alcoholic events are getting better and bigger.
Can't really go wrong at Loughborough; course quality is excellent (why is this not an rating option?!), the diversity of students and the range of things to get involved in is second to none, eduroam provides an excellent service both in WiFi and in fast Internet service everywhere on campus, the student halls are not just reserved for first years (returners make up about a third) and there is a huge range in terms of pricing and hall spirit, industrial ties are brilliant meaning the likelihood of you getting a job out of your degree is also very high (already got mine and so does everyone I know), and nights out are fantastic with some decent guest performances through the year.
societies are good yet nightlife not brilliant so hard to rank
Internet can be dodgy sometimes, disconnecting and re-connecting. Campus atmosphere is great
i loved my time at Loughborough - great people and facilities.
Fantastic uni with great opportunities for the future
The university staff is helpful although there is some variation of quality
Really glad I eventually chose Loughborough - I've already secured a graduate job, half way through my second year of university.
WE LOVE LUFF
Loughborough is the best end of. SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES!!!!!!!!!!! ------ SPORT, SOCIETIES, ALCOHOL, DBE!!!!!!!!!!!-------- ONLY reason value for money is 1 star is because i disagree with tuition fees. Facilities are the best available that i know.
Cons?
POWERBASE is always so full!
Best Student Experience!
Always something on at the SU, so much to do! Cheap nights out, lots of clubs and societies to join in practically any area of interest. Beautiful campus in a lovely town, great if you dislike big cities. Lots of supoort given from teaching staff for careers advice, mental health support, maths support, anything you can think of! Fab sports facilities, and loads to get involved with.
Cons?
Big focus on sports, can be offputting if you are just starting out! Town is not very big, may need to travel to Nottingham or Leicester if in need of a big shopping trip! Some halls can be quite far away from town too.
My best decision!
Loughborough has a real everyone is welcome feel. Everyone is friendly including the staff who really help to make sure you do as well as you can. The union is great fun and town has also got everything you need & a few good nights out :)
Cons?
None so far.
Great campus, a lot of activities
Many societies to join, catering for all choices. Lots of chances to play sport, even if you are not an athlete!
Cons?
Maybe too much emphasis on sport sometimes.
Very quiet town
Brilliant Uni
Great campus with all the facilities you could ask for. A brilliant library and sports facilities. Free campus shuttle.
Cons?
Campus shuttle isn't very reliable.
Great in the day, nightlife could be better
The area is relatively cheap, rent, alcohol and food is a little cheaper than it is in the south. Wide variety of club and societies. Contrary to belief very few are actually elitist. If you're not an international athlete IMS sport is still available and train regularly. Facilities are top of the range. Mechanical Engineering course is intense and hard work (obviously). A lot of help is provided to find placements.
Cons?
Being a sporting university, there are a lot of men especially on nights out.
Very Little support is provided once on placement.
Some Lecturers are simply useless.
lufbra walks on water.
Great community and opportunities. Easy to get around and great courses.
Cons?
Small Town not much in the town but charity shops, but some good pubs and Leicester and Nottingham only down the road.
