As long as almost 2 years studying in this university, I never felt like complaining about anything at all. All services are superb and my favourite is the career services the university provides. It helps us students with everything, finding suitable jobs based on your course and even provide virtual internships for those who apply. This uni is awwwssoomeee

I was very happy to have all the facilities and the front desk was very friendly and welcoming during my stay!
It was a good experience the staff are wonderful specially Mitch + Billy
The university campus is beautiful, with lots of quiet spaces to study, and nice places to eat. There is a huge range of societies that offer lots of activities. The career service is good with helpful staff. Some of the seminars and lectures could be more engaging but overall this is a good university.
nice campus however don’t get signal or wifi in some places
I am proud of being part of this prestigious university.
Nice accommodations and the staffs are very cooperative, supporting and helpful
Amazing experience, I’m in 2nd year. The campus is beautiful and I’m enjoying my course
I believe we have one of the prettiest and largest campuses in the UK. We have over 300 societies and so many volunteering opportunities as well as give it a go activities that happen pretty often where you can try new things and be involved. We also have a lot of community welfare in terms of free breakfast every Wednesday, food parcels you can take home and so much more; our uni really cares about students in the living crisis. Although we had a lot of career events throughout the year, none of them re really what I want to go into (NGO work) and it’s mostly very crowded and at least for me , I don’t think they’re effective. Our student union is great, it heats our voices and supports every single one of us . The internet works all the time but it sometimes discounts from the device and it’s very hard to get it back on. There is also a really big issue when it comes to service there is barely anywhere where 4G works. Also there is internet in the buildings but nothing outside
Amazing place amazing people everyone is very helpful and friendly
I needed alternative accommodation due to my 3rd year uni house falling through at the last minute. Karen, who works for Altura, honestly saved my life and helped me quickly secure accommodation for my last year of uni. The whole situation was very stressful and the team at Altura made it that much easier and I was able to enquire , book and move into the accommodation within 2 days. I also was able to refer 2 friends who also enquired, booked and moved into Altura within a few days. They have honestly saved me and I’m so very grateful.

Tennis courts is the best, it’s so much fun and everyone is lovely. Nightlife is so good, but you have to figure out which days are good when. All professors are lovely and approachable. My course Bsc Environmental science is not ethnically diverse like I hoped Brum would be. The city is fun.
All the facilities and support on campus are immaculate! So easy to get into the city centre as well! The campus feels like an oasis and you don't feel as though you are in the city.
Amazing facilities in the accommodation. A quick walk to campus down the canal. Very nearby to the aldi, sainsburys, nandos and other stores.
In terms of facilities, the university does a great job especially with student support. The one complaint I have, would be that not all lecture theatres have power outlets near the seats for students to use and device does run out of charge despite charging it fully. Since i'm an exchange student from UoB Dubai, I was very used to having charging ports everywhere. I think this is something they could improve on.
It is a really good campus, beautiful
I wanted more time in this lovely University and the clubs are amazing.
Great uni. Great people very friendly. Beautiful campus and great lectures .
Wonderful university that has all the facilities and support that a student could need for their years of study.
It was an amazing experience, I wish I had more time at the university that would've been amazing
There is a nice feel to the university campus but the wi-fi can be tempermental and there is nowhere near enough career advice options for humanities degrees
It had been only two weeks since the start of my course and I am really enjoying it. The campus is perfect with a lot of support and guidance provided by the guild members of the society. The WiFi service available in the university is outstanding as it helps in accessing the canvas page during the lectures so as to have good understanding of what is being taught in lectures. Initially moving to a new country was a frightening experience but the support at the university helped me a lot in settling here.
Good university and the professors are very helpful
UoB is a beautiful campus, lots of green space which helps me feel relaxed. There are always things going on and staff are generally helpful and enthusiastic.
Good university, some times can feel a bit cold in terms of the environment, as the stress is on academic success and careers, sometimes this can be overwhelming. Campus is pretty and there are plenty of study space. Teaching is decent, most lectures and seminars are engaging and easy to follow. Available office hours with lecturers to book if you cannot grasp a topic, although these are only 10 minutes unfortunately.
The student body is huge, bur it could be more refined. Less people means making more friends. More people means you can’t make friends that well, so that kind of sucks.
Good and and different societies People on campus are Helpful
Diverse range of societies and very welcoming!
I love the university campus and how clean and close together everything is, as well as how many events take place there.
My first year at uob was amazing, I couldn’t have been happier that I decided to study here. The campus felt massive during the first few weeks and the facilities in every building is of a high standard- I’d rarely see any technology that doesn’t work (every computer, automatic door, swipe access gates worked). The university station is a big plus as well for me because I commute into uni and taking the train is perfect since it has more of a regular schedule than buses (so I don’t have to stress over the timing haha). The university career networks is the best thing for me as well since I’ve discovered so many opportunities for jobs that are associated with science. I do love the uob societies as well, I love the diversity in cultures and backgrounds especially. I feel more comfortable and like I fit in when I’m at kcover (society) for example.
I have loved my time at the university of birmingham. it’s a great campus with great people. very easy to make friends through many events and opportunities at the guild. all in all a great experience so far that i greatly appreciate!
Very good university, lots of opportunities. Student Union is great and there are many great societies.
Good university, very diverse.
I have loved it so much I have stayed for my undergrad, postgrad masters and now just about to start my PhD. I have learnt so much throughout my university experience and Birmingham really offers everything. I an a keen member of the university athletics club which has been a huge part of my university experience, especially helping navigate my first year which was in 2020 during the pandemic. The research facilities are incredible and I’ve had the opportunity to experience real life science and develop my lab skills all throughout my undergrad and postgrad degrees. I have found the university library facilities amazing with 24-hours access making it the perfect place to work whenever. I have also had the opportunity to work at the university during the 2022 commonwealth games in the athletes village which was hosted in the vale. This was an incredible once in a life time experience where I felt so proud to be part of Birmingham university.
Overall it's an amazing university.
I love the vibes on campus, everyone is extremely friendly and inviting. The students’ union is so so helpful and easy to talk to. The range of societies and clubs are so interesting and diverse though there are some that unfortunately close down due to lack of members which is so unfortunate. Overall my experience so far at UoB has been fantastic and I can’t wait to experience the uni life here further.
Friendly university with lots of societies
Variety of good facilities and study spaces on campus, open early and late (lib is 24/7 during exam season)
Only been at my current uni for a year but already loving the new opportunities it has given me in terms of studies, gaining independence and making life long friends. It was a tad overwhelming at first but is honestly feel like home and cannot wait to continue my journey and learn even more about the campus facilities and Birmingham as a whole
Studying for my M.Sc. in Economics at the University of Birmingham has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The campus atmosphere is vibrant, with stunning architecture and the iconic Old Joe, all impeccably maintained. I loved spending time in the library, which offered excellent resources and support. The teaching and non-teaching staff were always helpful, and being part of Birmingham Business School was a highlight. The career network, particularly George and Tom, provided invaluable guidance, and the mentorship program was a game-changer. Overall, UoB helped me grow both academically and personally, making this chapter of my life truly memorable. Highly recommended!
Pursuing a PhD in Bioinformatics at the University of Birmingham has been a transformative experience for my academic and professional growth. The university offers state-of-the-art research facilities and an inspiring academic community that fosters innovation. The faculty members are highly knowledgeable and supportive, always encouraging students to explore new ideas. Additionally, the vibrant campus life and diverse student body create a dynamic environment for both learning and personal development. Birmingham’s central location also provides ample opportunities for collaboration and networking, making it an ideal place to advance in a cutting-edge field like bioinformatics.
Started my PhD here in 2021. The science and technology has been incredible and so helpful for my project. The campus is extremely friendly, vibrant and lots of events ongoing!
Solid uni, deffo worth it for the courses and experience.
Good university with good study spaces and community.
University campus is really good and enjoying
A very beautiful university, the teachers and classmates are very friendly, and the facilities are good and complete.
I spend almost a year living here.I feel very happy here during this year. The reception here are very friendly and make me feel like family.
The actual education is the issue at this university, it seems it is incapable of providing valuable feedback on my work so continually I just don’t know how to improve and gain higher marks, how am I meant to develop when no one is actually helping me to? I’m at a lower class 2:1 level right now which is basically useless in todays society but no one seems to be able to help me to progress when I ask for help, what am I paying for? I feel completely ripped off and am considering just dropping out as no degree is better than a bad one
Great careers network and student union
This is a very nice apartment and the staff are very patient. If there is a problem, the front desk staff can get a timely reply and solve the problem smoothly.
