The university itself is really good with passionate lecturers, I feel like my chemistry class is designed to make you prepared for when we finish university, and I feel like I have a good range of jobs I can apply for
This is great to hear and exactly what we hope our students get from their studies! Good luck with the rest of your studies :-)
If you have the option to select any other instituition for Post graduate studies, select thiat one without a second thought! Sad experience at MMU Business School. No formal training worlshops, horrible Ethical Approval Process designed perfectly to turn passionate, intelligent, and hard working students into depressed, diabetic, or IBS, patients within a matter of one year. What could have easily been achieved in three weeks without stress, the Ethical Approval deparyment would make sure you spend months on it until you blurt out I want to quit PhD. Many students have left or considering leaving the insituition. Wish I could attach here the review of other PhD students.
We’re sorry to see that you feel you've had a poor experience. The requirements for obtaining ethical approval for research projects align to national and international legislative and good practice research frameworks and apply to all UK Universities. We keep all our processes under review to ensure that these strike the balance between meeting our statutory duties but also being as user-friendly as possible. We encourage students to share their feedback with us during their research so that we can ensure we can identify any areas where existing processes and support can be improved. Guidance notes and training sessions are available to all Man Met students on the topic of applying for and achieving ethical approval, together with the possibility of 1:1 advice sessions if a student has more specific queries. In addition, we offer a varied training programme to all doctoral students across the University covering a wide range of research-related skills in line with the expectations set by UKRI and other funding bodies.
Always feel supported and lovely tutors
Thanks so much for your positive review. We really appreciate you taking the time to post it and we're happy to hear you are feeling supported in your studies. Good luck for the rest of them! :-)
Usman is really nice guy. He helps in everything. He is cheerful
Thank you for your 5* review, we appreciate you taking the time to post.
I am incredibly happy to have chosen Manchester Metropolitan to do my MA in Publishing. From the beginning, the uni has made a great effort to make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. The events during freshers were so much fun and a great opportunity to meet new people. Something that I love about Manchester Metropolitan is that, if you want to find a part-time job, you will find many opportunities to do so within the uni itself. Regarding the societies, there are plenty to join: I am part of the Hobbies and Crafts society which is so much fun! But there are also nutrition societies, gaming societies, pole dancing, sports... Also, the university offers weekly free sport sessions for students. I have attended Pilates as well as Core/Glute Strong, but there are also free volleyball sessions, swimming, dancing,... The only thing I believe could be improved in our uni is that the water fountains are quite difficult to find as there are not in every floor and quite hidden away!
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying your time at Man Met and taking advantage of the societies and sports on offer, as well as work opportunities. You’re welcome to feedback about the water fountains here: https://theunionmmu.forms-db.com/view.php?id=11054. Hope this helps. And good luck with the rest of your postgraduate studies :-)
I enjoy studying at Manchester Met because most of its courses are industry relevant, studying here prepares one for a successful career by equipping you with the skills you need to excel in your career and the different support teams make life so easy for you as a student.
Thanks for your great review! We're so happy to hear you feel supported in your studies and that you're positive about your future beyond Man Met. Good luck with the rest of your studies :-)
Personally for myself I have loved being at university , for me the best thing is the amount of new people and friend's you meet across your time whether that it through your halls of residence, the course or just people you end up meeting across the way. It is the one thing at university which makes you feel at home is having a great connection of friend's as coming to university is new and can be a tough challenge but having this makes it so much better. Honestly for me, the worse thing about university's is how fast it goes! time flies by and net thing you know your almost finished university so make sure you enjoy every second as it goes by.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We're really pleased to hear you're enjoying your time at Man Met and that you have made some good friends here. Good luck with the rest of your studies :-)
Great uni that always has events on evolving your career or hobbies
Appreciate the 5* review! Thank you. Lovely to hear you're enjoying our events :-)
Studying at Manchester Metropolitan University has been quite the journey. From the first time I walked through the All Saints Campus, I was struck by the blend of historic architecture and modern facilities. The bustling energy of the Student Union, with its diverse range of clubs and societies, has been invigorating. I've had the privilege of attending lectures from passionate professionals who not only have extensive knowledge in their fields but also a genuine interest in our growth as students. The mix of theoretical and practical sessions has deepened my understanding and appreciation of my chosen field. Outside of academics, I've cherished the moments spent exploring Manchester. there's always something happening in this vibrant city. The diverse student community here has also enriched my experience. Engaging in conversations with peers from all over the world has broadened my perspectives and given me lifelong friendships.
Thank you so much for your wonderful 5* review. We are so thankful for you taking the time to post your feedback and that you have enjoyed your time at Man Met and the city of Manchester. Good luck with your next chapter :-)
Okay, currently building work can make movement between stem buildings difficult. Wifi and connection in some lecture theatres don't work.
Thanks for posting your review. Whilst we appreciate the building work may be at times challenging for staff and students, the new John Dalton building, will be a state of the art, sustainable learning space for students and staff and is a direct investment into STEM education and research that we will all find of benefit. We are also currently undergoing an upgrade to improve the Wi-Fi service across the University campus so hopefully you should find that this improves. In the meantime, we would always recommend reporting any Wi-Fi service issues to our IT team so that they can investigate any individual cases. You can contact the team on 0161 247 4646 or through their live chat here https://manmetchat.mmu.ac.uk/ - hope this helps :)
