the buildings are so big and the staff are so nice and helpful!
Some building can be confusing. I often have problems with connecting to the internet
Thanks for your review. We are currently undergoing an upgrade to improve the Wi-Fi service across the University campus so hopefully you should find that this improves. I haven't used all the services but the ones I have used have been useful.
Overall I've had a good first year, yet haven't have the time to properly join societies and have had trouble with internet as well as tech services

Would love a stronger WiFi, sometimes it lags. Other than that everything is great. I would the uni to be open on Sundays as well

You can contact the team on 0161 247 4646 or through their live chat here https://manmetchat.mmu.ac.uk/. The buildings are accessible 7 days a week. I’m not sure which part of the university you are specifically referring to as being closed on Sundays, but it might be worth trying this resource: Advice centre at the Union (theunionmmu.org). This isn't exclusively for academic support, so it's worth a look.

Decent university overall but good

Great university, the staff are very helpful and supportive and the facilities are industry leading.
Thank you for your great review. We are so proud of our facilities and it's lovely to hear that you are too, and that you're finding the staff supportive in your studies.
overall Its a decent uni, however I have studied abroad with this uni and the uni werent super helpful, like they were supposed to help me with my study abroad but I wasnt contacted once whilst abroad, and a few other things. In addition I did my BA here and I am now studying my Masters however the course is exactly the same as what I did in my BA which doesnt challenge me at all😔. However this uni is decent and the facilities are good☺️. I was also at this uni during covid and I still have beef with the uni for how they handled covid 😭
We are sorry to hear about your experiences. I would encourage you to contact your faculty director to discuss your current issues with. I’ve enjoyed my experience so far. I have nothing negative to say. Maybe there could be more employment opportunities within the university as it seems there is a high demand.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. If you have been struggling for employment opportunities at the university, I would urge you to contact Jobs4Students to discuss your own experience as they may well be able to assist: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/careers/contact-us.

Great place to study Great opportunities for career paths and social activities
Hi there, thanks so much for the 5 star review! We hope that you continue to enjoy your time with us here at Manchester Met :)
Manchester Metropolitan University has been a great experience for me overall. The courses, especially in Applied Linguistics, are well-structured and relevant, and the faculty is knowledgeable and supportive. I really appreciate the vibrant campus and the sense of community among students. However, one downside I've noticed is that sometimes the administrative processes can be a bit slow, which can be frustrating. But overall, I would highly recommend MMU for anyone looking for a welcoming and engaging environment for their studies!
Thanks so much for your review - it really is great to hear that overall you're having a positive experience with us here at Manchester Met :)
As an international student at the Manchester Metropolitan University , my experience has been outstanding. The campus is equipped with modern, state-of-the-art facilities, with the latest equipment, fostering a top-tier learning environment. The teaching staff are not only friendly but are also highly experienced scholars. They truly go out of their way to assist students. The student community is vibrant, with numerous clubs and societies catering to a wide range of interests, allowing you to pursue hobbies while meeting new people. The Students' Union is award-winning, actively supporting students and organizing fun activities throughout the year. One of the university's standout features is its Careers Service, which offers invaluable resources like CV building, networking opportunities, and mock interviews. The internet connection across campus is reliable, making studying and staying connected easy and hassle-free.
Hi there, thanks so much for such a glowing review - we really do appreciate you taking the time to write it. We're so glad you're enjoying your time here with us and wish you all the best for your future studies :)
Settled in really well, met some really great friends and so close to uni and the city centre
Thank you for your review. We love that you have made some good friends at Man Met and that you've settled in well. We wish you well with the rest of your studies.
Overall all the staff of the university is good and very co-operative with the students in all concerns. I myself, i am completely satisfied with this university.
Thanks for taking the time to post your review. We are happy that you are having a good experience at Man Met and wish you well with the rest of your course.
It's been a month here and I love it here. The vibe is great, they have lots of resources which is awesome. The teachers are very helpful and cooperative.
Welcome to Man Met! And thank you for taking the time to post your review. Great to hear that you're enjoying your time here and that it's been a positive start for you. Best of luck in Year 1 and beyond.
The new Dalton building is so good and fancy. We have quite study spaces which is so helpful.
Thanks for your review.... we love the new Dalton building too!
I don't have any experience of the clubs and societies through personal choice. The support and aid we get is substantially important to our work through the year by using the library or using the union for support from financial or placement teams based there. The Internet recently has been on and off which hasn't been helpful to get work done however for the past 2 years is was fine so it seems liek a new issue. The careers service that is offered is going to make a massive impact on how I apply for jobs and my experience around interviews as it is interwoven into my course which allows us to have extra experiences before truly applying to jobs.
Thank you for posting your review. We really appreciate it. We are currently undergoing an upgrade to improve the Wi-Fi service across the University campus so hopefully you should find that this improves. Great to hear that you are finding our Union, placement team, finance teams and careers service of use.
Overall, very good University. Had a really great experience and made lots of new connections. The professor are really good and supportive.
Thank you for taking the time to post your lovely review. We are so pleased you are enjoying your experience at Man Met and making new friends. Good luck with the rest of your studies.
I absolutely love studying at mmu because of the opportunities the university gives the students. For example, being able to collaborate with Chester zoo just opens so many doors and helps us build connections.
Thanks so much for your 5* review! We really do appreciate it and we love hearing that you're enjoying your course so much. We wish you well with the rest of your time at Man Met and Chester Zoo!
There’s so much at the university to experience and enjoying the start of my course at mmu on a ma photography going to different university and feel they are pushing me and so much food for thought to be inspired by. Felt a lot of collaborations and things to do and great facilities and mainly easy to access
Thanks so much for your 5* review, we really appreciate it. It's great to hear that you are enjoying the MA Photography course. Enjoy the rest of your studies with us!
Solid experience so far, love my course, accom is nice and close to city centre
Thank you for your review We are so pleased to hear that you are enjoying your course and that you're happy with your accommodation. We hope you continue to enjoy your time at Man Met and wish you well with your studies.
It’s easy to find your way to the university’s buildings and there are helpful maps along the way if you do get lost
Thank you for posting your comments. We're glad to hear you are finding your way round campus ok. Good luck with your studies.
There is a good range of societies to join and take part in, and there are many helpful careers advisors made available for students. However the WiFi is generally not great, and is unreliable during lectures.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are currently undergoing an upgrade to improve the Wi-Fi service across the University campus so hopefully you should find that this improves. MMU is a great uni to study with supportive and collaborative academics that make the learning journey perfect for students
Thanks so much for your 5 star review, we really do appreciate it. We hope you continue to enjoy your time with us here at Manchester Met!
As an international master's student at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), my experience has been both challenging and rewarding. The university’s diverse academic environment and expert faculty have broadened my understanding and equipped me with practical skills. MMU’s resources, including its library and student support services, have greatly facilitated my academic journey. Adjusting to a new academic system and life in a different country presented challenges, but the university’s support for international students has been invaluable. Additionally, living in Manchester, with its vibrant cultural scene, has enriched my overall experience, both academically and personally, preparing me well for a future in teaching.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review, we really do appreciate your feedback. It's great to hear you feel so supported and are enjoying your studies. We wish you all the best for the rest of your time here at Manchester Met!
Amazing big campus, easy to locate, friendly staff to ask anything to
Thanks so much for your 5 star review, we really do appreciate it. We hope you continue to enjoy your time with us here at Manchester Met!
Very friendly study environment with very supportive teachers.
Not sure what to say here it’s uni. Love Manchester though
The uni itself is great lots of support from everyone. It’s just the accomodation that is shocking.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We're happy to hear you feel supported in your studies, however we're disappointed to hear you're unhappy with your accommodation. I would urge you to discuss your issues with your local hall team or Residential Advisors as they should be able to help. If you're not sure who they are then please contact the Student Living team: http://www.mmu.ac.uk/accommodation/. I hope this helps.
There's a good amount of clubs, but it's clear they don't get much funding as they tend to be very small. Students in general don't engeage much with the su/clubs so they are both not great an have no reason to improve
Thanks for taking the time to post your review. We're sorry to hear that about the clubs. As a registered charity, The Union has elected Student Officers who represent our students and are involved at all levels of decision-making in Man Met, including The Union. Professors were good. School is in the heart of the city which is very good for social life after classes
Thank you for your review. Great to hear you're enjoying your studies and our campus. Good luck for the rest of your time at Man Met.
the experience of halls overall has been good. with the right flat mates you are bound to meet people you click with. you meet people from all walks of life and experience so many different things from each other.
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We agree. Meeting new people from lots of different backgrounds is really great. We're pleased to hear yo've had a good time in Halls.
Great university, lots of study areas, lots of extra support to go to study skills workshops and gain critical skills, support from lecturers
We love love love hearing that you are getting support in your studies, and that you're enjoying your time at Man Met. Good luck with the rest of your studies :-)
Overall good found the eduroam wifi doesnt reach all lecture rooms which is a pain because as a disabled student i rely on wifi for my note taking app
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are currently undergoing an upgrade to improve the Wi-Fi service across the University campus so hopefully you should find that this improves. Everything is close together on campus I enjoy the library and the different zones on different floors. The cafe in the business school does good and cheap food. I haven’t found a society for me yet but I am going to try more next year
Thank you for your review. Great to hear you're enjoying campus life. I'd recommend you take a look at our Student Union website if you haven't already. There are lots of opportunities for our students to be involved in outside of their studies, such as the societies and clubs. Just go to Manchester University to be honest. They push you to try new things but offer no support and you have to pay for your own software, not like we already pay enough for university lol.
Thanks for posting your review and we're sorry to hear you feel you're not getting any support. Hopefully at least one of the following links may be of use to you: If you feel like you're not getting enough support academically, I would encourage you to raise this. Great uni! Very social and modern. New facilities, renovated green areas and buildings.
Thanks so much for the 5 stars! We love hearing that you have found Manchester Met a sociable place and have been enjoying our new facilities and campus developments :-)
Course is enjoyable and the staff are nice
So pleased to hear you are enjoying your course. Thanks for your review and good luck with the rest of your studies.
Sadly, i had a bad experience as i wanted to switch courses since september (for medical reasons) and nobody would help me during my period of illness and didn’t tell me i could take a break from the year. so i had to pay for a full year of a course i couldn’t do.
We are sorry to hear this and appreciate you taking the time to post about your experiences. I would urge you to contact our Student Financial Support Helpline as they will be able to advise you of your options. I have been in touch with them about your circumstances and they would be happy to discuss this with you. You can call them on 0161 247 1045 or email them at sfsadmin@mmu.ac.uk. I hope that helps, Mel.
The library is falling apart and we really do need refurbishment
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. There are plans to develop our library at Man Met, take a look here: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/news-and-events/news/story/?id=16328. If you have any specific feedback about our Library facilities you are welcome to let our Library staff know via this link: Tell us what you think | Manchester Metropolitan University (mmu.ac.uk). Decent University close to the city center
Thank you for posting your review :-)
Why brooks is so far away... Teaching staff are very nice and help!

I don't know where you are travelling from but you may find the following travel info helpful: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/study/why-manchester-met/city/transport, and there is also a free bus that goes to Deansgate-Castlefield https://tfgm.com/public-transport/bus/free-bus - Brooks is a 20 minute walk from there. I hope this helps :-)
Not bad but not good. Big campus with nice view in brooks

At MMU the experience has been overwhelmingly positive thanks to the genuinely caring and attentive tutors. They consistently demonstrate a high level of effort in supporting students. Additionally, the students' union is active and engaging, with a good website that keeps informed about the ongoing activities, ensuring there's always something to participate in. The library's offers a lot of seating, making it an ideal study spot and to add it is always so warm in there with good heating. The campus atmosphere is friendly and inviting, with the university itself situated on a long, bustling road filled with a variety of dining options and activities to enjoy during breaks. This vibrant setting enhances the overall student experience, making it a lively and enjoyable place to be.

The course content is rich and quite practical. The tutors are very responsible. There are many kinds of extracurricular activities and they are interesting. The extension library courses are diverse and considerate.
Counseling service is good, uni staff are very supportive

Might give more help for international students.
Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we really appreciate it. Did you know there's an International Student Group at the University, which offers support (as well as fun activities) to our International students. More information can be found here: International Student Group @ Manchester Metropolitan University Students' Union (theunionmmu.org). Hope this helps :)
They take great care of parcels and promptly address maintenance issues. The laundry facilities are straightforward, making life easier. However, the gym is well-equipped enough, but it would be good if they invested more into it, to make it a great place for fitness enthusiasts who value their workout routines. Overall, the attention to safety, maintenance, and amenities like the gym and laundry facilities make living here a great experience.
