I have been living here for 2 years now and I think it’s great! I would say the highlight of living here is definitely the location , where Lidl is just 3min walking and it is also next to a big park for some fresh air . As well as this if you have a car , parking is provided which is free which was great for me . In terms of the rooms , it is quite modern and comfortable. Management is here if it is needed and any problem would get sorted out . Also if you go University of Southampton, walking will take 20min and there’s also a bus stop near by. There is a bicycle shed but just be careful when securing your bicycle

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Location is a nice area and convenient for both Portswood, Lidl, and Bedford Place. Nice common room, small size of the building means that it feels more communal than university halls.
i have been living in university accommodation last year (i live in St Margret this year) and i cannot emphasise enough about how St Margret House changes my university experience. everyone is very friendly and chatty, making the transition from high school to university a lot smoother. the bedroom is very nice, with everything we needed. the bed is comfy and the kitchen is very clean and well equipped. i would say the staffs has been the best experience i had. the emails are clear and reply messages are very quick and lovely, giving me a homely atmosphere around the house. i will definitely recommend st margret for any university students in Southampton if you are looking for an affordable and high-quality place and stay!!
I have really enjoyed my time at St Margaret's House. The rooms are modern and cosy and there is a homely atmosphere. There are several communal rooms where you can study so you don't have to stay in your room. The facilities are really good and the management is excellent. It is good value for money and I have been pleased with everything. I am glad I stayed here.
As a student, I was looking for a place that was not only affordable but also comfortable, convenient, and conducive to studying. St Margaret's House ticked all those boxes and more. Firstly, the room itself was perfect for my needs. It was clean, well-furnished, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, the desk was spacious and there was plenty of storage space for all my belongings. The location of the accommodation was also fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. The university was just a short walk away, which was very convenient for me as a student. Perhaps the best part of my experience, however, was the staff. They were friendly, and professional, and were always quick to respond to maintenance issues in my room. Overall, I would highly recommend St Margaret's to any student looking for a comfortable, convenient, and affordable place to stay.
This accommodation has great facilities that are well maintained including a common room and games room. It is well managed and issues are sorted out quickly. The accommodation is kept very clean. It is in a great location for accessing the university and there is a supermarket within walking distance. There is private off-road parking available which is secure.
It's a very good dormitory. It's convenient to go to school and downtown. The front desk aunt is also very kind and will help you solve any problems!
I have had a great time at St Margaret's House. The location is perfect - less than five minutes away from both the Common and a large Lidl supermarket. Bus stops to campus/city-centre are also very close, and it is only a 10-15 minutes walk to Avenue campus (an additional 4 to get to Highfield). The manager Clare is lovely, and always does her best to solve any issues you come to her with - communication is good, and residents receive emails to let them know about any updates or optional social events being held. The accommodation and rooms are quiet most of the time, which is good for studying in peace. St Margaret's also has a very nice outside space with benches, used for studying, or just a place to get some fresh air. I've never had problems with the WIFI, any problems were quickly resolved. The only negatives are that the kitchen could be a little small, but my issues were resolved by talking with flatmates. CIRCUIT laundry is also annoying, although I did get used to it.
I very enjoyed living here. The manager here is very nice. whenever we had problems, she was always try her best to solve them.
Good spacious room and kitchen, within walking distance from both University and town centre.
Great place for little money!!! So close to school and groceries!
The location is great and not a far walk from the university if you go to school and If there are any issues Clare always fixes everything!
I like living in St Margaret's House because it is not far from the campus. Also, it is just 500 meters away from Lidl supermarket, and very close to Southampton common park. This is a quiet place I can focus on study.
This place feels like home to me. Love the gardens and social places especially the common rooms. My room is good and spacious. Bathroom is good.
There is a really nice accommodation with friendly staffs and also it offers a seperate kitchen for one bedroom flat that is so attractive for me.
It's a very excellent student accommodation. Good staffs and keeping improving resident's experience.
Nice place with Southampton Common just 2 mins away! Quiet and beautiful neighbour, reliable facilities and management, love this place.
That' s really nice and close to school. My favorite point is this one bed apartment have a door separate the bedroom and kitchen. 南安所有公寓里少见的独立式厨房,做饭油烟味不会沾在被褥上,很方便,我在avenue读书所以每天步行上学美滋滋,比较推荐
