I was surprised when I first open the studio room! It is a bid room and rich equipment of daily live. The view outside windows is so beautiful. I can see squirrels run on the grass everyday! I think this accommodation let me feel happy. There are many resident event every week.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
The room itself is nice. 2 wardrobes (although one is used for storage of items such as the hoover). Plenty of shelf space around the room. The bed is a double, with storage underneath. The mattress is surprisingly comfortable. Slightly disappointing that there was no bedside lamp included. However, there are plenty of plug sockets. There's plenty of windows to let natural light in. The dining table is big enough for two people. The desk is large (again, big enough for two). Though generally OK, wifi can be unreliable. The kitchen area is compact. Unfortunately, there isn't quite enough space for comfortably preparing food when cooking. However, it's OK. The clothes washer/dryer is great. The extractor fan is noisy, even when not in use. The ensuite is spacious, and the shower is very good. The communal areas (hallways, entrance, etc.) do not seem to be cleaned. Despite being in the Ranmoor student village, Laddow is very quiet. There are nearby shops, and a bus route to town/uni.
I was very impressed with the size of the room and facilities inside. Having my own washing machine is wonderful! The maintenance staff are friendly and helpful, and the central social space (The Ridge) is well equipped and well used.
Apartments are generally nice, kitchen ok, only basic microwave and oven hobs. Pros well insulated and never cold Shower works well and is high pressure Generally happy overall, maintenance is easy to report and things get done quickly Cons No oven - only microwave which isn’t great Internet is sketchy if using WiFi Very expensive, 10.6k for 50 ish weeks but does include bills. Couple of occasions where maintenance on the room has happened and rooms left unlocked. Emails about maintenance is never ending
I have lived in the same room in Laddow Studios for both my first and second years at university and I am really glad I made this decision. As someone who likes my own company and appreciates a more peaceful living environment, this option is perfect. Living on student accommodation means that, despite living alone, I have access to common areas and residence events meaning I still feel integrated as part of a community. Although it may be expensive and somewhat of a distance from main campus (25-30 min walk) , all facilities and bills are covered and the room and equipment is of good size and functioning. Security, maintenance and customer service is also easily at disposal. This is a stress free and comfortable option.
A bit far from campus, otherwise no issues.
The room is spacious and mostly clean when I moved in. There is some mould in the bathroom shower area, but with some mould remover came out pretty easily. Location is about 20-25 minutes from university buildings and there is a bus that takes you directly to the student union. Overall a comfortable private living space.

Location and access to transport is great. Building is okay and there is deffo worse places, but limited in not having an oven or living area. Pretty quiet considering it’s in Ranmoor.
Amazing......... fantastic
