Saves a lot of money compared to ensuite halls and honestly no problems with sharing bathrooms. Could definitely have better social spaces but still good facilities with its own laundry room. Better location than most of the other blocks as its half way the hill

Q&A
Hello,
The kitchen comes with all white goods (fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster etc), and students are required to bring their own kitchenware such as pots and pans, dishware and crockery etc. The Free Shop at Endcliffe on Sunday 17 September is a great way to pick up any kitchen items you may have forgotten, so we highly recommend heading over to check it out.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Crescent flats is a great choice for accommodation - I was a bit nervous to move into the flats as I hadn't heard brilliant reviews, but I'm so glad that I was placed here. This is the cheapest accommodation that the university offers, and it is the best value for money. Our flat is always warm and the rooms are more spacious than most others I've seen - the only drawbacks are the size of the kitchen and social spaces. Neither of these are real issues though, my flat still enjoy spending time together in the kitchen and we've made good friends across the Crescent flats. It's not quite as sociable as the other flats in Endcliffe but if you are looking to make friends here, it is easily done. I really like the location of the flats aswell. It's a bit more distant from the other accommodation blocks, but this means that the noise from the other blocks doesn't bother you. It is also the closest block to the bus stop, which is useful if you're running late. I really like Crescent.
Hello and thank you for your review, we are very grateful. I am so pleased to hear how much you have enjoyed living in Crescent flats. It's great value for money and a popular choice for students who are happy to live in accommodation with a shared bathroom. You will never be sharing with more than 6 people and the communal areas are cleaned every 2 weeks. Crescent flats are on the end of the Ranmoor/Endcliffe site so you will be able to join in with all the activities going on (Residents Life hold loads of events and many of these are free !) but you won't be disturbed by the noise from The Edge bar etc. Best wishes, Sharon
Great location and value for money but only social space is the kitchen and it gets cramped when everyone is there and 2 or more people are trying to cook
Thank you for your review! It's great to hear that you find Crescent Flats to be in a great location and good value for money. It’s always great to know we’re meeting your expectations on those fronts! I understand that having the kitchen as the only social space can sometimes feel a bit cramped, especially if a few people are trying to cook at the same time. However, many of our residents find that their varied schedules mean the kitchen isn’t always so busy, allowing everyone to find a time to cook or hang out more comfortably. Your feedback is really helpful, and we’ll keep it in mind as we consider future improvements or share tips on making the most of the space. If there’s ever anything more you need or any further feedback you’d like to share, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team at acs-customerservices@sheffield.ac.uk. Endcliffe area is really good location but i would say some of the other blocks in Endlcliffe are better as you are more connected with the flats near them. They also have sofas and much bigger kitchens which are great for socialising. Although, having said this i would say crescent is great value for money in comparison to those with ensuites, the shared bathrooms are nothing to worry about and you socialise in other flats in Endcliffe automatically through friends you make anyway. Crescent also has own laundry facility which is so useful.
Hello and thank you for your review of Crescent flats, we really appreciate it. Crescent is a great place to stay if you are ok with sharing a bathroom. In an standard accommodation you will never be sharing with more than 6 people and the communal areas are cleanede every 2 weeks. The Hub and The Ridge are areas where you meet up with friends and Residence Life hold loads of events here and many of these are free. The Edge bar has loads of themed nights too. Best wishes, Sharon
Crescent flats is great accommodation if you don't mind sharing bathrooms. The only downsides are that there is no sofa or full length mirrors in the bedrooms.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it is much appreciated. Best wishes, Hollie
Very good accommodation with food value for money but social spaces on slightly smaller side
Hello and thank you for your review on Crescent flats. I am glad you were happy with the accommodation you booked. Students can always use The Hub and The Ridge to meet friends if they wish and Residence Life also put loads of events on and many of these are free to attend. You can also book the Green Room to watch a film, play a game or just hang out with your friends. Best wishes, Sharon
It's okay value for money. I have found few problems with the shared bathrooms and the showers are nice. There is no social spaces other than the kitchen and it's is small. There is no sofas and the only seating outside the rooms is the kitchen table. The room size is good but there is little natural light (i would reccomend bringing fairy lights). The people are nice. Overall it's not too bad but it's obvious is cheaper than other accomdations.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it is much appreciated. Please know that we have The Edge and The Ridge, based on the Ranmoor/Endcliffe campus which students are welcome to use at their leisure as a social space. Best wishes, Hollie
Great value for money and really good for students that don't want to spend lots of money. Will say that there are few social areas and it's difficult to socialise with others in different flats or have multiple people round. But really affordable and good amenities

Not a lot of natural light, the kitchen is absolutely tiny for 6 people, there’s only 4 chairs between 6 people. Maintenance aren’t great. The people are pretty great though, but that’s to be expected given it’s the worst accommodation
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're very sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the size of the kitchen and haven't had a great experience with our maintenance team. If the latter is relating to an ongoing issue, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Customer Services team who will be able to investigate and resolve this as soon as possible. -Good room size -Good fridge space -No couch or living area other than kitchen
Thank you for taking the time to add a review, we are very grateful. I am glad you have found Crescent flats to have good room sizes and ample fridge space to store your food. There are 2 larger social areas on the Ranmoor/Endcliffe site. The Hub and The Ridge are where you will often find Residence Life holding events which you can book to attend and many of these are free !. There is always The Edge bar too where there are quiz nights, karaoke etc. You can also book the Green Room in the Hub where you can watch a film, play a video game or just hang out with friends. Best wishes, Sharon
As mentioned by others it’s good value being one of the cheapest options. The bathrooms are very modern and clean and there is no issues sharing them. The rooms are very large and spacious. Social spaces are limited to the kitchen with there being limited space when others are cooking. My personal experience is that there is a lack of natural light. Due to my kitchen windows each facing a wall and being in the trees the kitchen is dark all the time. My bedroom window again faces the bushes which makes the room quite dark. I know however from being in the other flats that this is not necessarily a massive issue for them. The social experience has been okay and the friends and people I’ve met here are really nice.
Thank you for taking the time to add a review, we are very grateful. I am glad to hear you are happy in your accommodation. It is a great location with easy access to all the facilities that Ranmoor/Endcliffe offer and close to Broomhill which is a great shopping centre. There are supermarkets here along with loads of cafes, bars and loads of charity shops. You will also find chemists and barbers/hairdressers so it is very useful We also have a village store on campus for essentails you may have forgotten. It's only 20 minutes walk from the main campus too. The Ranmoor/Endcliffe site is full of vegetation so a price for this may sometimes be that this can block the natural light. If it's something you feel could be improved please let the Customer Services team know acs-customerservices@sheffield.ac.uk. We can't promise to cut a tree down or relandscape the site but if some basic pruning would help...... There is a great atmosphere across the campus and we are always happy to hear students have met people and had a good time. We aim for students to havethe best experience possible. Best wishes, Sharon
Pretty good, I enjoyed my time here
Many thanks for leaving a review, we are very grateful. Glad to hear you have enjoyed your time in your accommodation. Best wishes, Sharon

You can also book the Green Room in The Hub to watch a film, play a game or just hang out with friends. Comfortable flats in a lovely area at the top of Endcliffe Villiage. Although there is no living area, the kitchen is a fine size and each 5 person flat has 2 toilets and 1 shower. The rooms are nice and slightly bigger than the ensuite ones found in other blocks of flats in Endcliffe.
Thank you for taking time to write a review, we are very grateful. It's great to hear you are happy with teh accommmodation in Crescent flats. It's in a great location and although on the outskirts of the Ranmoor/Endcliffe site, it's close enough to be use all the facilities available and attend any events. In our standard accommodation with a shared bathroom you would never be sharing with more than 6 students and the communal areas are cleaned every 2 weeks. Best wishes, Sharon
I've had no problems sharing bathrooms with my flatmates. In a flat of 5 we have one room with a toilet and sink, and another with a toilet, sink, and shower. The bedrooms also have a sink each for brushing teeth etc. The kitchen is a little small, and unfortunately we don't have much of a social space to hang out. The bedrooms feel a little larger and have more floor space as they don't have en suites built in Other than that, you save £2000 a year compared to en suite so worth it I'd say. It's nice to be in Endcliffe village with other students. I'd say it's a bit quieter than other buildings as there isn't much foot traffic on the road nearby. Overall I'd recommend
Hello and thank you for your lovely review of Crescent flats. I am really happy to read about your positive experience here. If you wish to socialise with friends you can always go to The Hub or The Ridge where the Residence Life team hold loads of events and many of these are free. You can also book the Green Room to watch a film, play a game or just have a chat. The Edge bar has themed nights too. Really good location near supermarkets and the uni and good value however the kitchen is small.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Best regards Hollie
It is great value and having a shared bathroom is not bad at all, especially 2 bathrooms with 4 people. You are close to the edge study space and the field is right outside, it is a bit away from the busier blocks so it is quiet at night. The rooms are good sizes but the kitchen is quite small and there are no sofas to sit and socialise.
Hello and thank you for your review, we really apprecaiate it !. I am glad to hear you like Crescent flats, it's in a great location with the best of both worlds as you can go out and enjoy yourself if you wish but not have too much noise on your doorstep. If you fancy getting together for a film night you may wish to book the Green Room in The Hub as you can use this to watch a film together or play games. Best wishes, Sharon
Main problem is, it's too hot. In winter it was 22-25 degrees C and summer 25-30, usually 27. Couldn't study or sleep properly so wouldn't recommend unless you come from a hot country. They couldn't cool it down. There was an uninsulated hot water pipe running through my room which took months to get insulated and lots of chasing. When it was, it reduced the temperature by 2 degrees, not enough to make it bearable. Bring a fan I suggest. It's the bargain basement budget option with a small kitchen for 5 and only 1 small fridge and a fridge freezer (not enough). No social spaces (other than kitchen) in the flat or building, have to go to the main common room at the Edge across the field. Shared shower and 2 toilets. Noisy at night with the window open but quiet during the day. Smallish room but I've seen smaller for more money in other blocks. Oh, and the main bins are placed right outside the front entrance which stinks every time you go in and leave the place!
The social experiment was a success.
Had a great time during my year in Crescent, a lot of the time was spent with flat mates joking about how s*** it is compared to the rest of Endcliffe however that doesn't take away from the fact that there's everything you need there (well, except maybe a sofa). The social experience has been very good and it was easy to make friends with other flats. The rooms are bigger than those in the main part of Endcliffe although this may be due to the lack of an en suite, however when you have a flat of five people with two toilets there's never any waiting. The cleaners, who come once a fortnight, do a great job cleaning up our kitchen after some rather messy pre drinking sessions. Overall it's definitely value for money when you consider how much everyone else pays in Endcliffe, for £40 a week more all you're getting is a sofa and a toilet, the social life is certainly no different.
Probably the least attractive halls in Endcliffe but it has everything you need and everything works as it should! Most people are friendly but the majority are really quiet.
The most social always with the nicest most down to earth people being the most basic. Don't need anything more expensive really
Living in Crescent flats, I had a brilliant time. That was however, most definitely not due to the accommodation, described by friends as similar to a '1970s social housing block'. The kitchens are absolutely tiny, and there is no living room area. The rooms are a decent size but nothing else is, considering the extortionate rent you pay. Plus side however; security tend not to come around because it's tucked out the way. You'll have a good time in Crescent once you get over how s*** it is.
