Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

One of the best accommodation in Liverpool for students
Stay at Vita will always be memorable for me. Everyday is a new event and the social area is amazing so international students don't feel left out. Breakfast on weekdays also seem very useful and the maintenance team is very friendly and professional.
Old, badly managed, Old, badly managed, Old, badly managed, Old, badly managed, Old, badly managed, Old, badly managed, Old, badly managed
Highest price but horrible service. The management team in this brand of accommodation could make you feel insane, usually you will need more than a week to fix your room problems, every month you will find a new problems or issues in your room, windows, ventaltion, appliance, hob, oven.etc. everthing thing it was had a problem in my room and when you report to the management team, they will just let you wait for maintenance, maybe a week, maybe a month, they don't know when can it fix. They won't do anything to compensate to you. IF YOU STILL WANNA LIVE HERE, GOOD LUCK~ 高昂的房价但差径的服务。
I am here to highly thank Umma, one of the Liverpool vita employees team! My TV did not work for a long time, and I reported for many times without any processing. Thank you for Umma, help me figure out the problem and report my broken issues ASAP! Great job! Umma!
A waste of money honestly, this accommodation is filled with flaws and faults. You'd think getting a studio you'd have some privacy, but no you have staff coming into your room even if you can't hear them or you're on the toilet to give you some promotional leaflets. Fire alarms constantly go off to the point that no one actually leaves the building unless it's been ringing for 15 minutes non-stop, heck even in the drill people came out after 25 minutes because we're so used to it going off that no one cares. The room was unclean when I first came to it, there were some belongings and a oven filled with dirt. Most rooms don't have an openable window, you have to pay extra for it because a window is apparently a premium and a way of charging higher prices. Your room will be extremely hot if you cook and if the weather is hot outside, it will literally be a sauna. Vents fill your room with dust and poors it everywhere, and you can smell people smoking and cooking etc..
Expensive to an extreme, they misadvertised the room to me, 160 a week and the only window stares at the internal opening of the block of flats, all pipes, cannot see the sky due to the height of the building and the small window, which doesn't even open, by the way. There was no safe box even though they advertised one. Extremely pushy staff when it comes to renewing your contract, they sometimes come into the room if you don't hear the knocking just to give you some promotional stuff. Would not recommend. You have internet access but due to a massive router system being used, some stuff is restricted, so say goodbye to IoT stuff you may want to use.
Absolute disgrace of an accommodation they lie so they can take your money I have never dealt with such unprofessional money grabbers ever. When booking the room they are very quick to ring u and try take your money what they don’t tell you is that your room will have no window that opens and no air conditioning in the room. The WiFi also does not work for my lectures or my Xbox, and none of the facilities can be used including the hub and the gym due to Covid-19 yet they don’t think it’s reasonable a deduction should be made on rent due to this aswell as the fact universities aren’t even open aswell as anywhere else in the city. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY IT WILL BE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU EVER MAKE.
Shocking company,, they treat students and staff with equal contempt.. they lie to students to get them to book .. do not even consider living with vita , or worse still working for them .. Liverpool vita is the worse ,, they quite happily run the building with literally 1or 2 staff , and let them take the brunt of the complaints from the students when things are not done ... a truly despicable money grabbing shameless company run by inexperienced ruthless management
terrible place to stay! i would advise against it and save your money and time! not worth a single penny. rooms are dirty on arrival, skid marks in the toilet. had various problems throughout the year that no one has bothered to come and fix. staff are rude and cleaners come once every 2 weeks and only clean the sink. making vulnerable students still pay their final rent payments even though we have all had to move home due to coronavirus and cannot access the building due to government advice. wifi is really slow especially in the evenings. a 'city centre view' room is far from it. the window opens a tiny crack and only of of them actually opens. share vents with other rooms so constantly get smells of other peoples cooking coming through into your room and also people smoking in their rooms the smells come through. the only good thing about this place is the location, but i would just choose somewhere else to stay.
I do not recommend Vita student. Everything That they have advertised is glamourised. Rooms were never cleaned. The student hub was not available 24hrs and maintenance was appalling. They have no sense of customer care and have ignored to support students during the pandemic. This is just a money making accommodation and I would suggest for future students looking into vita to look else where. There are many accommodations that would be far more better than an over priced inconsiderate company like this one.
Do not spend your money here!! One of the worst value for money places I’ve ever experienced. Nothing but issue after issue that took months to solve. From different infestations to lack of management with these issues. From a floor that’s impossible to clean to having a view of a brick wall. Disgraceful breach of contract especially when a replacement room could not have been found.
Good service! Nice student accommodation!
DO NOT USE THIS ACCOMMODATION! I repeat do not use this accommodation!!!! Had the worst time of my life in this place. They are really quick in taking your money but not giving anything in return. I was there just for a couple of months and it was horrible for me. It was so bad I even do not know where to start. From everything breaking on a weekly basis to management trying to charge you everything to cleaners not doing their job and management completely clueless about everything that's going on around the place. When we first made a reservation they gave us two days to pay the deposit which would be fine if they gave us the right bank account information but we managed to settle that thought the phone. Then they told us we have to pay the whole rent in advance in the next 48h and that had to be done even before we even seen the contact because that is their company policy. There was more but the site doesn't allow me more characters
Absolute joke.... Been here for over two years, been nothing but nice to the staff and during my time there many staff were nice to me. However I have had an AWFUL experience with them ever since. I was enticed into getting a longer rental period so that I save money on the weekly payments and that when I decide to move out, they assured me that they would help me to find a replacement tenant to take over my remaining liability. That has not been the case in any way. Absolutely no help or effort from there end, let alone a reply to an email. Not to mention violations of my privacy. They have conducted room inspections firstly without making me aware, then when I question it, they are raising things that I need to pay for which are f****** stupid. They tried making me pay for a whole new TV over £450 because a socket was damaged.... when I questioned it to head office after multiple emails back and forth they suddenly found somewhere to fix it for £40? word limit restricts continui
From the moment I moved in I felt so welcome, all of the staff are lovely! Management and the lovely people who work on the desk always greet you with a smile, even know me by my name now! Housekeeping are amazing too, they always clean my room so well and it’s just a nice feeling coming home with a clean and tidy flat! I had a small issue with my window as anyone walking past could see in, but as I reported it to Vita they kindly ordered film and put it on the window so no one could see in but I still got light! Nothing is too much trouble and I really do feel like this is home
After moving here for my first year of University, I arrived to a room that had not been cleaned from it's previous owner with food still in the cupboards and occasional clothes found under the bed. The shower had a lot of mould in and the microwave/oven was covered in some sort of curry. After complaining they asked if I wanted to move rooms which I accepted, however I now pay over £170pw for a room with a window that does not open and looks into another room, and still has mould in the shower which smells quite badly no matter how much you clean it. They have recently added extra cleaning options for more money and have now started charging people to print papers which only management can do which is hard when some aren't there very often. When the accommodation have parties they are really good with free cocktails and food but these don't happen regularly after being told they would. The gym is quite good with basic machinery and the free breakfast is good too.
They recently changed there advertisement because they false promised students to give pizza parties and various other parties across the year which they really don't. You only get about 3 parties or so through out the whole year and this does mean you don't get anything for Halloween etc. I am paying £245 a week and expected the accommodation to be amazing but it really is below average. They false promise a lot and they just want money out of you and in return give you very less. The room has a noise all night which is very annoying as you can not sleep and they say its for our safety but do not tell you about it before moving in. The rooms are tiny specially for a pent house its very small. The wifi had problems for 4 days once when I moved in September. There ethics are rubbish and I have complaint before and they will not solve the problem instead question you as to why you wrote the complaint online. The breakfast is same every single day NOT CONTINENTAL.
Would I live at Vita Liverpool again? Absolutely not. The room I was in was tiny, window couldn't open, and no air conditioning. Fire alarm would turn off in the middle of the night, unexpectedly. When it was hot, I was forced to go to the communal area because it was too damn hot in my room and I had nothing to do about it. There was one time when the staff came to my room because someone else had 'scent problems' in their rooms. Pretty pointless visiting my room. Not my problem. Nevertheless, the people I met at Vita were amazing, staff and students, always had a smile on their face. Also, I was told before booking that the University of Liverpool is only 10 minutes away and when I told them, they had the cheek to correct me even though I showed them on the map. SO glad to have moved away from Vita. Wouldn't dare to stay there again.
