A very good social environment with many opportunities.
The academic staffs are friendly and supportive. The facilities are fine, although sometimes it seems to have constructions all the time. But overall, the experience is nice.
Vivienne is so kind and helpful(o^^o)
Very nice experience, library is great
The BEST value for money. I wish I could stay here my entire uni course. The only thing I’d change is the location of the washing machines because the signal isn’t the best in the basement. But regardless everything is well maintained, any maintain jobs are practically done day of inquiry. Lovely staff!
Great staffs and location, they are enthusiastic and help me a lot.
We have many workshops and meetings to communicate with teachers and students, which helps us have a insight of futures and have a better understanding of future careers.
Really good place and location
A good university. I like the collegiate system, but it can be annoying sometimes, I think I might prefer more investment into the SU in general over separate investment into each college. But overall the teaching is fantastic, which is the most important thing
Wonderful views in the city and great teaching at class. However, some IT issues can be sloved by more effort.
I love Durham, especially the collegiate system
The department I am in is excellent, and many services are fantastic, but upper management has not been up to scratch.
Mainly issues with the staff care for students. The facilities are there but there’s no aid in accessing them.
overall is good but could be better
The library is shortening their opening hours which a lot of us are unhappy about.
Good uni with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Great diversity of people and interests. Would recommend to anyone looking to study at a top uni in the UK.
Most of the activities do not work around MBA schedule and we are left out most of the time. Communications could be better. Too many instagram pages for societies and you have to go out of your way to find information.
I really enjoyed Durham University. Both academics and life have given me a very good experience. The responsible staff have been friendly residents, great students, all of them are a wonderful composition of my university life!
Pretty good - enjoy it, but various things could be improved
Wide range of courses and optional modules to choose from, you can really personalise your degree.
Really good. The facilities are perfect and give me a lot of opportunities to experiment
Great university however there is a lack of opportunities when it comes to careers and internships
It’s a great experience to live in the Houghall Court in Durham and be around with a bunch of super kind and supportive staff, especially Janet and Kevin. Thank you so much!
Made great friends. Lots of clubs and opportunities.
staff members always try their best to accommodate for their students. the interactions I've had have always been positive and I really appreciate the time that each lecturer takes out of their busy schedule to put my mind at ease with the problems I've had.
So happy with my choice to come to Durham University!
Really good, very supported ..
Good!gooooooooooood love my uni
vety very nice living experience.
Ernest Place offers exceptional accommodation with top-notch rooms and an amazing team of staff members. Everyone here is genuinely kind, warm, and accommodating, creating a wholesome experience. The service is outstanding, prompt, efficient, and always on point. My time at Ernest Place has been one of the best experiences of my university journey, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
The university lives up to its promising reputation!
Silverfish is normal here apparently. How did management respond? Sends an email about how its ‘normal’ and they don’t have much to offer to help. Only gave us tips and tricks that could be found on Google. Walls. Extremely thin. If you got a neighbor tha’s sh@gg1ng, playing video games, got a friend over- good luck you will hear it. Studios, there are no air ventilation above the hob. I know!! insane!!!! Reception closed on weekends, if your parcel is coming in on weekend, good luck wait a few more days buddy. If you live near the forest, opening the windows is just waiting for a bug infestation to happen. Bins, overflowing all the time. I’ve lived here for more than 1 year and still don’t know which one is recycling. Staff is unapproachable mean condescending. You will feel like youre being judged (probably bc you are) Management so bad even a fresher doing business can do better
The wifi is definitely the best and great facilities.
Good time overall, if you’re willing to work hard and knuckle down this is a good place to be.
Professional and practical modules, excellent experience.
Does very little to support non stem students, which goes across poor campus facilities to poor careers support.
My master's has great facilities and staff. No complaints.
Duran University is really big, and there are many activities. The greatest feeling it brings to me may be tranquility and serene. It is a very suitable place for slow life and study (^_^)v
The campus and facilities are clean and up to date. There is an array of various clubs and societies that strive for inclusion. The students union is just sort of there but it's made up for through the individual colleges. The careers service staff is friendly and helps direct you in the right direction.
Totally good, peers are friendly and helpful here.
I’ve enjoyed my experience here so far though I think widening participation further would be good
The hospitality team is very effective. They will help us solve problems quickly, The accommodation environment is also very clean and comfortable. I like it very much.
Doing a Master's course and nothing to complain about.
I've really enjoyed me time at Durham. My course is well taught, the library is a nice size but could have more study spaces. In terms of societies, there is a lot to do. Sport is very big but there is plenty of other societies as well like Hot Chocolate Society and DADS. Durham itself is a nice place but a bit small. I like all the cafes!
The facility is good but can be isolating for international students because there’s a distinct separation between home students and international students. The colleges do matter, it can determine your social life, so choose wisely. I would recommend finding your crowd and a comfortable spot between your social and academic life.
“People around me are very friendly. It’s conveniently located near a large supermarket, making it easy to buy anything I need.”
The accommodation provided is relatively good value, and comes with all the fundamentals for independent living, along with helpful bonuses like the bar.
A good university - I am glad I chose here! The campus is good - just the building I study in is vastly out of date and now cramped before lectures. The SU is also good, just out of date. Not really had much experience with the careers' service, that's why i'm rating it like this
DUBS has a state-of-the-art building that fulfils all educational requirements of students. The faculty is extremely supportive.
Nothing much to add. Durham is a great university
Although many buildings are old, there are plenty of modern facilities and wifi is available throughout the different sites. Clubs and societies offer something for everyone and really help with making new friends and making university life more fun.
They do offer a great deal of support for those struggling mentally. People are understanding and helpful. I have nothing to say about support, but if you can’t afford the societies there won’t be much help there. Everything you need to pay for. Laundry (which gets more expensive every year), gym, book clubs, formals, your food for the formals the drinks. And it’s not that great either at least in my opinion, good if you want to build connections, but not diverse enough or interesting enough.
Durham is a very beautiful city and its castle and church are amazing. The school's new business school facilities are very good, comfortable and modern. The school library has a good learning atmosphere. In addition, the school provides a lot of study and internship opportunities, which is really great for international students. I wish Durham University remain in the top 100 in the world!Keep on working hard!
Great societies with plenty to choose from.
Good overall but a pretty unorganised university in terms of admin.
Durham has been great so far. Facilities are really modern and city is very walkable. There are lots of activities to get stuck into.
Good university, social scene is mostly alcohol fuled.
There are many active and reopening societies. Most of the buildings are comfortable.
Yes Durham is a great university to come and study in
Great so far, sports societies have been very good
South college accommodation is modern and comfortable, however phone signal can be very unreliable in study bedrooms.
Would recommend for people wanting to live in a more modern building
I really enjoy durham's facilities. There is a wide array of student societies to get involved in and never a dull moment
i love it here. the campus is big, and also all buildings are very beautiful. the castle and cathedral are very pretty and they sometimes hold events such as light shows! there are a lot of opportunities to challenge yourself to new activities and meet new people. I have not looked deeply in the career aspect yet, so I am not sure what i could say about it.
Most of the buildings are very nice and well-equipped, I do not have much experience with the SU as people tend to be more affiliated with their college rather than the university as a whole.
Lots of societies and general things happening that all contribute to student life. Student Wi-Fi works in lots of areas around Durham which again is helpful. Communication isn’t always amazing but they are good at showing career opportunities.
The campus has almost everything that a student needs!
An excellent university with diverse societies and inclusive community
The student union and academic departments are outstanding. However, the university increases the amount of students they let in every year causing a housing crisis and forcing the rates of housing up year after year.
Great stepping stone for a successful future - just don’t expect anything from our SU.
There's plenty of societies and sports teams to meet people and get involved with your hobbies. There's also plenty of networking opportunities with other people in your field.
Very good experience of stay! It's a great place to live and the staff is very friendly.
Could be more seating and study spaces. More food options
excellent place. peaceful town to study and stay.
Very happy and comfortable at Durham
Uni is good enough, a varied population.
Had a good uni experience, had some really cool events and met some very cool people
Enjoyed studies but administration side of the university is less than helpful in many instances and don’t offer support for student living
My key card was missing, and when I came to the front desk at 11 PM seeking help, Lee kindly assisted me! Thank you, Lee!
Very nice place to live, excellent facilities and great location. All members are helpful and friendly, maintenance problems can be solved in time.
Security and living environment should be improved a lot.
Good university staff good experience overall, hate the high cost of living in the city and living options availability is limited
I’ve had a wonderful experience living here. The thing that has made my overall experience better has to be the staff. A special mention that I would like to make is for the night manager Dave. They have been a big help when needed. Very friendly, helpful, and polite.
a unique university experience, so many opportunities
The maintenance team has done a great job
It was really nice living here. Rebecca was really nice and helpful with everything throughout the year
Durham University is nice! Great teaching by staff and great student support
love the university great geography department
Beautiful accommodation and wonderful staff, Rebecca is a gem!
Rebecca is really nice. Could have some fancy facilities
i think here is quite and safe , the price of apartment also is acceptable, so its a bst choice for the international students who study in durham.
I am very glad I chose DC at Durham. I have studied in the UK for two years and stayed at more than three different student apartments (both in London and Durham), and I have to say DC is the BEST! Large house, new equipment, quick service (Steve can do everything !!!), and very very very kind reception! I have to move to Newcastle next year due to academic reason, and I will miss days at DC so much…
Amazing, splendid. Weather is not the best but its the uk after all.
The flat is next to big supermarkets , McDonald’s, and KFC, and it’s very convenient. The dormitory environment is also very good clean and tidy.
The facility is good and the teaching staff are very professional and helpful! Enjoyed my time spending in here!
I really enjoy studying in Durham University!
Very warm environment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The experience here is very good. You can choose this apartment with confidence.
People here are kind and helpful
Friendly environment for studying.
Very good academics. We get challenged well.
