Very good academics. We get challenged well.
I’m Durham is a really place to live and study people here are quite friendly and I feel safe living here
Good university , it makes me feel comfortable
Very clean and nice, nice service
An excellent campus experience, except that the internet is sometimes not very fast.
Better than expectation. I am having an amazing time here at Durham
Good experience and nice people~
No complaints! My tutors and lecturers have been amazing. When I was struggling mentally, staff were very helpful and kind, unexpectedly offering me a place on a language evening class for free, which is now the highlight of me week.
This is my third year staying at Ernest place and I have really enjoyed my stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The social places are also amazing and very clean. I will definitely recommend Ernest place to anyone looking for accommodation !
love the city, nice place & i have a nice academic advisor
Very nice accommodation, every one is helpful and nice
Its nice, the hours in class might be too short
It’s really peaceful and safe.
Everything about it is great, in my opinion.
Great place to study at. Huge library and interesting lectures
Good facilities and plenty of events happening on campus
The experience of living here is amazing overall. Ernest Place is very close to a big Tesco and other shops around. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful and solve problems promptly, making me feel like home. Also, the public areas are always clean.
Great extra curricular stuff and a rly nice place to live.
I am now a third-year student and I am very satisfied with the learning and infrastructure at Durham University. In particular, the library and the study area on the third floor of TLC meet the needs of students
Durham is a brilliant institution. As a physics student I enjoy fantastic facilities within the physics department and across the entire campus. I Particularly love the collegiate aspect of the university; it’s one of the main reason I chose to come here. Each college is unique in its own way and each offer many sports and societies to get involved with. I have really enjoyed my time here at Durham so far.
Was a very good university. will reccommend
Great place to be in, good staff.
Very good place to live , I strongly recommend it
very good and the staff are really good,i want to live in this place for the next year
I am very satisfied with the learning environment at Durham University. Here, I can make friends from many countries, which makes my life interesting
Solid uni, no complaints, wish the coffee was cheaper
Some aspects are good, like student societies and flexible part time job opportunities with the university. However, the university itself struggles to maintain a good student experience due to the housing crisis, cost of living crisis, separation and elitism both in departments and in the University as a whole, and overall inability of the university in mitigating and improving these issues. From a student perspective, the university as an institution doesn't care about the livelihoods and welfare of students, and rather the revenue and leaderboard scores generated from them. Colleges and most (but not all) societies are very welcoming and are great for welfare, inclusion and community but are let down by the institution.
love doing my degree at Durham.
Overall, I had good student experience
I have enjoyed durham and it’s societies
Not relevant for this accommodation
lovely place,friendly staff,spacious room
All is perfect! The reception is so friendly!
Great student support and facilities, lovely city too!
generally ok, but do more care about students’ mental health, thanks
Beautiful place, excellent university. Really grateful to study here.
A great university with a diverse range of clubs and societies.
The university has state of the art facilities, the lecturers are amazing and the place is gorgeous!
Durham university's buildings are in good condition, if sometimes hard to navigate. The Bill Bryson Library is an excellent tool for any student. There is an excellent selection of clubs and societies for any interest a student may have.
The university is stunning and my current department is great - Wi-Fi is a hassle to set up and doesn’t work on phone
Collegiate system amazing, made my uni experience
College life is very interesting, I can participate in different activities to get involved in the local. Professors are able to provide timely help and feedback.
Durham is a great place to study and make friends.
I really like living in DC. The reception is really really nice and kind. They work hard and help me a lot.
good, the teachers and tutors are nice
The school's curriculum is well-designed, the teaching quality is high, and the teachers are diligent and responsible.
Very beautiful site and lovely views
Great library and resources. Love it
Friendly stuff, and clean place
Good university with great library
Great university with excellent societies and volunteer groups
The internet connection is unstable sometimes. Especially when I watch videos on my phone.
Very good experience for me! I love it
Durham is a worth place for study. The teaching level is top tier and the facilities are advanced.
For my business and management course, the management can be better.
Good university, decent societies. Sometimes difficult to communicate with lectures or other members of staff
A really good uni in a lovely area, with a variety of societies and events to get involved in.
Very good experience. If you have problems, teachers are always willing to help you.
It’s a great uni, but in particular the law school is outstanding. Social events such as balls do tend to be too expensive for me to be honest.
Durham University,I am very proud to be part of it, there is a very supportive community and a beautiful place to live.
As a computer science student at Durham University, I have found the academic resources to be exceptional, with access to state-of-the-art labs and software. The faculty are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, always willing to provide guidance and feedback on coursework and projects. The campus community is vibrant, with plenty of opportunities to get involved in clubs and societies related to computer science and beyond.
Durham has been a wonderful experience. The clubs are wide in range, price wise and according to your interest. The student union leaves a lot to work on, especially when trying to contact its president. However the college community is strong.
I'm a Classics and Archaeology undergrad and my experience of Durham has been pretty good overall! I really enjoy my course and the modules offered by both departments. I do wish the SU were a little more involved, but generally the university as a whole are quite supportive if you have any issues. Student accommodation is unfortunately very expensive which is definitely something to consider, but overall my experience has been quite positive, I've been really happy with my course.
It is a great university with amazing teaching and supporting staff! However, there are some evident organisational issues.
if you’re thinking of coming to Durham uni, don’t. Not only is the student demographic made up of half the population of Surrey who live off daddy’s money and have no basic understanding of how the world works, the uni itself is appalling. During my three years at Durham, most of my work has been online (even 3 years after covid). I am paying 9 grand a year for constant strikes, as well as NO lectures in third terms, only exams. The wi-fi in the library doesn’t work. Support for mental health (and you’ll need it) is next to nothing. To top that, I’ve been assigned a dissertation supervisor who has nothing to do with my field of interest, and has already decided the diss title for us and determined that it will be a literature review rather than research. Staff are appalling at getting back to you. Halls are basically falling down. The uni is overpopulated, causing a housing crisis. The SU doesn’t care about students. Other than that it’s great. Just trust me and pick another uni
The team at Ernest have been nothing but amazing
Very beautiful city and has a range of things to do, though social life can be very linked to your college
Durham University is an institution that thrives academically and socially. During my time here, I have been encouraged to join sports and societies, which has had a great impact on my development!
Durham is a good university. However, I do not think it deserves to be held as highly as it is. The facilities are good, however the main study spaces become extremely full during summative and exam season, making it hard to get a space during the day. The university gym is good, but nothing special in comparison to other university gyms. Some departments have very good facilities, such as maths and computer science. Yet, most humanities remain in the same old buildings. The students union has a very bad reputation among the students. So does the university itself. Students are consistently let down by the university (keep up to date with palatinate to discover the actions of the university and the general opinions of its students). The quality of living at college depends highly on the college. The newer built colleges generally have better accommodation and facilities. Catered colleges vary MASSIVELY on the quality of food and living; self-catered is safer and cheaper.
Durham university is located in a small town in england and it has provided me with many opportunities to develop myself as a student
A fantastic place to study, but there is a shortage facility for entertainment
Durham’s a great university in a scenic location. Both teaching and administrative staff are quite helpful and respond quickly. The study spaces available are really great too!
Wonderful place to study as a Postgraduate student - lots to get involved in and I have loved the course. Lots of fascinating content and supportive and inspiring lecturers.
Durham is a great small town. Plenty of activities to always try new things and small enough that you get to know your neighbors.
I have loved my time at Durham, the teaching is excellent and the study spaces are great and always available.
Excellent university that lives up to the expectation.
Useless and biased SU, little career support, inconcise marking guidelines
There is a diverse range of clubs and societies to get involved in.
Durham University is a great university. It offers an exceptional learning experience, with class learning facilities. It offers various extra-curricular fitting to every student.
Good nice location near my university
Durham is currently going through a housing crisis, so that is something to keep in mind when applying. Obviously it is still a good university though.
Good uni, but they prioritise profit over students
Durham uni is a great university, studying here is such a great experience. The students are very diversity also the teachers are very knowledgeable and very helpful.

Good enough but students not accepting enough of foreign people or people who are not staying longer than 1 year.
The overall experience to study at Durham University is good.
I am very happy with my studies and life at Durham University. The facilities are very good and there is a lot of extracurricular life such as clubs, college activities etc. The teachers and students are very friendly.
A lovely place for students to stay.
There are many activities at the college and students and professors are very friendly. The professors in each class are very responsible and the student support team can help effectively
