Pretty enjoyable place so far :)
A good university with a wide range of opportunities to get involved with
All the teachers and classmates are very friendly, they have helped me a lot. And I have learned a lot of knowledge here. It is a quiet and peaceful place which can give us nice atmosphere of studying. I like here a lot.
All the teachers and classmates are very friendly. I really enjoy living in Durham and am looking forward to the next year. Durham University has given me a great university life.
Great place to focus on yourself and study. Not crowded but have enough support from uni. Love to use Library facilities
Amazing university. I have particularly benefitted from the 'Durham Difference' - the small group tutorial teaching in groups of up to 6. This makes Durham stand out among other unis, we are truly treated as individuals by tutors rather than cogs in a machine.
Good place to start a new life!
Excellent for sports, societies and social activities. Nice city with everything within walking or bus distance. Courses themselves are well ran and intellectually stimulating
It is a good place and location. It is Jan’s hahahaha
Too few lectures / tutorials for law
The professors here are so kind and patient, the basic equipments there are helpful.
Good experience but sometimes difficult to contact due to long reply time.
Very enjoyable experience with great facilities and great professors as well.
Great teaching! Excellent material was provided to students. Amazing facilities.
Greatest organization ever nothing beats it should be ranked above Cambridge
Friendly staff, complete facilities!
Durham is definitely the right place for me, but sometimes it can feel a bit excluding being an international student. But overall, I do find my sense of belonging here
It was an amazing experience taht I truly needed to grow and learn to take responsibility for my work. I was given great access to a great and very reasonably priced accommodation. Both the course and accommodation provides great value for money.
Good teachers and interesting lessons
I think everyone's experience at Durham can be and is very different based on where they're coming from, what they're studying, what they're expecting, etc. As an international postgrad student, the university itself is great academically, but socially and administratively it's subpar. Its quite a small town with not very much to do - so if you can't find your group, then it can get quite lonely. Accommodation and food are more expensive here too. But it is a lush, pretty town! The cathedral is stunning and the nature is underrated. Overall, a mixed bag.
Good university…………………………………….
Durham is very suitable for any person who loves a peaceful yet pleasant lifestyle. University staffs are responsive, professional and supportive. Facilities are accessible and useful. Great experiences.
Absolutely brilliant university with its dedication to inspire every students with different backgrounds! As an international student I find it very interesting and exciting to not only study here, but also get to experience so many things under such a diverse and inclusive culture in the UK!
There is no doubt Durham University is . You will never forget your life here!
Awesome. Great course; the professors are top draw. Location beautiful. It’s a pleasure.
This is my second time at Durham, and all I can say is that I find myself here--intellectually and personally.
The web site to book spaces in Billy B/TLC… such as study rooms, PC desk… is really complicated to use. I tried several times and I’m confused. Another thing; I’m at the business school and we didn’t get a ball when every other school had one.
Outstanding university - excellent experience
Everything is good in Durham, I love the campus in the village with natural views, and the facilities and staffs are excellent.
I love the studying experience in the Durham, I will miss here so much after I graduated
It is good in providing international services
In my experience so far in the months I've been here I would state that my experience is okay.
The campus environment is good.
Studying at Durham University has made me feel very fulfilling, although the homework is difficult, but the beautiful scenery makes me feel happy. Especially, boating in the river to enjoy the sunset is both romantic and free.
Very happy and delighted experience.
I love durham university, it has been so special and i look forward to whats to come
Its been a great experience so far. I've made lots of new friends from different countries. And of course the teaching is great.
As an international student it has been great, rewarding and exposing. I have been able to learn new things and acquire knowledge that i am sure would last me a life time. The tutors and Staff are seasoned and academically impactful. I would encourage all to apply and have their own life changing academical and social experiences
Good uni overall, there're plenty of clubs and society you can join, and plenty of opportunities available. Staff are generally great and are very willing to help you with any issues you're having
Colleges are the best part of uni! Such a lovely community feel
nothing’s really special about this place
Love my uni, love my college. John Snow volleyball club #1
The University is adequate but there is little to none student support in general
The wifi in school is quite bad, I am usually unable to connect to Microsoft Teams for class.
Good university with negligent and closed minded history department
Great university with great people
The wifi has constant connection problems, and is very slow
Generally about the same problem
A good place and I love the lake, especially the sunset!
I have really enjoyed all of the opportunities at Durham that are constantly popping up. The student union is lacking but that is mainly because we are a collegiate university. The colleges' provide most things a student union do as well as formals and a strong, supportive, tight-knit community. I have therefore still given the student union section 5 stars.
Great English department and lovely main library
The wifi is variable, some days it’s great, other days it just doesn’t work. Staff are mostly friendly and happy to help. On site cafes are a bit overpriced but good quality. Free sanitary products available for those that need them. College staff are nice and willing to help.
A good environment for studying and living
wifi is not so good sometimes it does not work but other things well done
Professors are super friendly and willing to help. Facilities are great too.
Durham University campus is great for me
Top standards, managed to deliver and provide alot of services during Covid-19 lockdown
The teachers are very responsible and the students are lovely. The curriculum is well designed and there are plenty of activities in school.
I feel like I'm missing out a lot...
Still early on in the year, hard to say anything about he experience, but so far so good
I really really really really really really really appreciate Mr. Fredrick
Durham university is one of the best in the UK. As an international student, I have been truly amazed by their teaching, facilities and support for students during my time here. Located in Durham and far away from a big city’s distractions.
Beautiful city and nice river. The walkway along the river is fantastic.
My experience of Durham has been terrible. I honestly don't know where they get their good reputation from because everyone else I have spoken to on my course seems to be equally dissatisfied. I am a masters student, I've paid £10,500 for my one year course and I genuinely feel that I've received less than £500 worth of tuition. There are a couple of staff members I've encountered who actually seem to care about delivering a high quality experience, but the attitude of most other teaching staff seems to range between contempt and indifference. It is as if the students should be grateful for the opportunity to study at their prestigious university and not expect anything more, My advice for anyone considering Durham for a postgraduate degree would be, don't.
It is a very good university, it offers a lot of student support
Durham University is the best choice I've made. All the professors and tutors are always so keen on helping me succeed my modules! The collegiate system is top of the line, literally enhanced my university experience.
Services and facilities are great!
It's ok. Would prefer a bigger city that has people with occupations other than students.
Bern great! thank you fot the experience
Great and really supportive stuff
Good! Good good good good good good
I love my university, though the COVID-19 made my compus life a little boring. I still feel glad to study here and get involved in some college activities.
Durham University is a very prestigious university with various colleges providing lots of social activities.
Durham university has convenient facilities and amazing services and societies. Really enjoyed my study year here.
Very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very excellent
Being an international student, Durham was one of the most welcoming and supportive communities. It is an inclusive, accepting and loving environment where every student is given equal opportunities. There is so much diversity and people from different cultures. It’s a beautiful and historical city with 16 colleges spread all across town. There are so many opportunities and clubs you can get involved with and it’s truly and amazing experience!
Uni is amazing. I love the courses and modules, and despite the inconvenience of Covid, everything is great.
Due to covid 19, I have facing various issues that I cannot attend any activity of the campus
The teachers are professional and friendly.
I have a great time in durham. I think that this is one of the best university because of its many facilities to help students to revise.
My experience of doing a PhD at Durham University has been fantastic, despite the circumstances of it being during a global pandemic, though this is mostly due to the supportiveness of my supervisors and the staff of the History Department. Teaching a module was a real joy and a credit to the student body.
It’s a very comfortable, nice accommodation. The area is very convenient as there is a large tesco store 1 minute away, and restaurants within a short walking distance. The accommodation is clean, the rooms are large and have many shelves, places to put stuff in. The staff are really nice, helpful and friendly, they’re always trying their best to make the residents feel comfortable during their stay at the accommodation.😊
There's so many opportunities, especially with the collegiate system you'll receive a tonne of emails inviting you to all sorts to get you involved. Even in COVID-19, they were really active in making sure everyone had an opportunity to meet friends and get a similar uni experience despite the difficulties
Durham University is a great place to study and improve the skills. The best thing is that you will find more choices and more opportunities to develop yourself and interact with a large diverse student body. And you will be studying at a top 100 university!!
Got a well respected degree, the careers service were helpful.
World class sport facilities, UNESCO world heritage site on campus and a wide range of clubs and societies to cater for any interest. Students Union is less important due to the college system and college JCR’s.
Hard to really tell since this year has mainly been in lockdown
The teaching facilities are good and advanced. Most teachers are responsible and professional.
Loved my time here, will miss it dearly
The classes were online the whole year. Unfortunately, due to covid, I did not have the opportunity to go to the university. However, the societies continued their online activities, keeping us informed by email. The university libraries were very clean and the environment was pleasant to work in, with the wifi always working.
I’ve loved my time here as a student. There is so much to do, and a club or society for everyone. There are also phenomenal support systems in place if needed.
I’m in my last year of PhD at Durham and I can say it’s been a weird one, besides Covid and all I think the overall experience was nice. The feeling I have is that everything is quite catered to undergrad students and PhDs are never really taken into consideration, I guess because we’re not many to begin with. The environment is quite stressful and people put a lot of pressure on each other and themselves to show how good a Durham student is supposed to be, but as long as you don’t really pay attention to that it’s fine.
Excellent experience with career center.
My professors are knowledgeable and willing to answer my questions.
Seeing as I’ve attended in the midst of a pandemic, I don’t have very much to comment on. All I can say is that they seem to have done their best to provide an experience as close to normalcy as it gets. Judging by what I’ve heard, they do seem to have exerted more effort than a lot of other U.K. universities have.
Very unique experience in the Durham University.
My over learning experience at Durham University is good. I appreciate especially the Centre for Academic Development which provides great help with my academic writing skills.
The University really support students and have nice environments
Although I had my postgraduate year under the COVID lockdown and I had to had all my courses online, I still had a great time. Most of my teachers and university staffs are helpful and patient. I did get some help from the uni career service by giving me instructions for volunteering jobs.
I didn’t go to campus often due to COVID
