When it comes to unwinding between your studies, this residence offers a host of options. There’s a state-of-the-art on-site gym, fitness studio, sauna, cinema room and two private dinner party rooms. If you enjoy being outside, you can take advantage of the rooftop terrace and the glass encompassed sky lounge or you can simply relax in the outdoor area. Some of the more practical amenities include high-speed WiFi, on-site parking (additional charge), bike storage, laundry room, study area, contents insurance, on-site maintenance, fob entry system and CCTV.

The location of Ernest Place is indeed a bit far from Durham University, but the free bus pass and the convenience of having Durham’s largest Tesco supermarket right downstairs make up for it. Daily life is very convenient. Ernest Place is newly built with excellent facilities, and gym equipment is promptly repaired when broken—something I’ve never experienced in my five years of living across the UK. The reception staff are also very friendly, although a bit strict; all communication requires you to have your student ID with you :), even if they recognize you and know where you live. While this is understandable, it can be inconvenient at times. Overall, security is not an issue. My experience living here has been excellent, and I highly recommend it.

Ernest Place is the best accommodation I could have ever picked! Before coming to Durham I was sceptical of picking an accommodation without viewing first but I couldn’t have asked for a better choice of living. From the facilities, to the convenient location and the amazing staff, everything has been top notch. The area is quite and has many stores like Tesco, Asda, Currys, Dunelm, McDonalds and these are only to name a few! I was surprised to find out that Ernest had amenities such as a sauna, cinema room, 2 dinner party rooms a gym and many more and the staff have made my move from Canada and stay in Durham such a comfortable one.
Wow! What an amazing 5* review! The facilities really are great, and the team work hard to make everyone as comfortable as possible, a real home away from home. We hope that you enjoy the remainder of your time with us.
At first, when I knew that I was allocated to stay here, I realised that it was quite far from the city centre and my classrooms, but it turned out that it was worth moving here, a little away from the hustle and bustle, where I have been got peace and safety, and many other good things such as: - Get a bus pass (all Arriva lines) that you into the city in just 5-10 minutes. - The location is just 1 minute from Tesco Extra, the biggest in the city. Also close to McDonald's, Home Bargains, Lido, TK Maxx and many more in that area. - The common facilities are excellent and complete in my opinion. - The receptionists (all of them) are friendly and kind and very helpful. - And so on. Everything I have experienced throughout my stay here has made me happy to be arranged to stay here. Everything has exceeded my initial expectations by far. Please keep these good things and pass them on to the next generation of students. Thank you very much for giving us such a good experience! 🙂👍🏻

Ernest Place is a brilliant student accommodation. It's extremely neat and clean with so many social spaces to enjoy! The management team here is very supportive and friendly. The property is well maintained and any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. I definitely recommend this accommodation to students! It's very close to all shopping and grocery stores. The university is just a quick bus ride away (or a walk). Its been a sheer pleasure residing here.

The facilities here are new, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the dormitory is regularly cleaned and maintained. The staff at the front desk are very nice, there are regular events, and there is a free gym on the roof. There are many supermarkets nearby and shopping is very convenient. The only drawback is that it is far away from the college and it is difficult to participate in the activities of the college. I'm sorry about that.

The facilties themselves at Ernest place are phenomenal, with excellent social spaces and fantastic recreational amenities. Additionally, the nearby tesco makes shopping very convenient. I thoroughly enjoyed my year living at Ernest Place. I can confidently say that the facilities of this student accommodation are among the best in Durham. The oven and dishwasher significantly enhanced my quality of life, especially for someone who enjoys cooking. However, it’s worth noting that not all rooms come equipped with these appliances; it depends on the type of room you choose. The staff are responsible and diligent, though they can be quite strict. What I loved most is the Tesco Extra right next door, which is a blessing for someone who loves grocery shopping like me. The only downside is that it’s quite far from the city center, but the accommodation provides an Arriva transportation card, which helps to reduce some of the travel costs.

Good place to live with multiple choices of markets. The only one McDonald’s and KFC in Durham just nearby. Really quiet and comfortable living area here. The public areas on the ground floor and facilities on the top floor are perfect and admired by my friends living in the city centre. The staffs are friendly and responsible. It’s a little bit far from business school, but you’ll get a free transport card as compensation. It will help you save a considerable transport budget for your stay in Durham. Highly recommend it to all.

This is a beautiful building, but I really hate living here. I have not had a good night sleep since moving here, there is constantly music or banging blasting from various other flats. The building is located in an unsafe area, which is a 45 minute walk to the library, all uphill on your way home. Because of this, I felt like I really have missed out on the uni experience this year. I can’t go to societies or formals because I feel so unsafe walking home in this area after dark because of instances I’ve experienced, & the buses are extremely unreliable. Unless you have a budget for constant Ubers, it feels isolating living here. Despite the building being lovely, the rooms and kitchens being well kitted out, and an amazing gym and study areas, the location and the inconsiderate residents have 100% put me off. The staff are always prompt at solving issues our flat raises, the en-suite is lovely, spacious desk, and regular events by staff. It’s a really a shame about its location.

I am staying at Ernest Place for my first year at Uni. The transition to living away from home was made much easier by the good quality of the accommodation. The facilities are well maintained and there are social events held throughout the year. The site team is very welcoming and helpful, and residents are kept notified of social events, post and maintenance jobs via email. The distance from the accommodation to the campus is largely mitigated by the cost-included bus pass, as well as the convenience of having Tesco just across the street.

Simply put, Ernest is an amazing accommodation. I am in a studio which is very good value for money considering how big the room is, combined with access to all the amazing facilities Ernest provide alongside your room. Being able to use a gym whenever you want combined with access to a sauna, dining rooms, social lounges, cinema is honestly a huge blessing and I will deeply miss these things when I move out. Moreover, the best thing about Ernest is the staff. They are all very warm and welcoming. Michaela, alongside Dionne who run the reception are always extremely helpful, and on-top of that are just overall really kind people. The staff at Ernest are also extremely pro-active, working hard to organise a wide range of events from Halloween parties, to even the smallest of things like giving out free snacks, coffee and so on. Ernest are also very efficient when it comes to something needing to be repaired, Colin always manages to solve the issue!

I am now in my third year at uni, and my third year living at Ernest Place - although this should speak for itself. I would not want to live in any other accomodation, the staff are now more like family to me. All of the facilities are nipping clean, everything is well maintained, and kept to a very high standard. The events held within Ernest Place are always so welcoming, and well thought through. I absolutely love this place, and I am genuinely heartbroken I will be leaving this year. The staffs are friendly and helpful. There are some social events which are funny. Also I have a bus card that we can take Arriva buses for free. It’s the most far accommodation, but the room is clean and modern. It’s worthy!

I have really enjoyed living at Ernest Place. They put on lots of fun events throughout the year such as Halloween party and pancake day. The management are very friendly and efficient. Any problems tend to be solved by the next working day.

This is my first year in Durham and even in the UK. I think i am so lucky that I could live in the Ernest Place. The staff team, all of them are so friendly and lovely. They provide so good services and clean living environment. Also they would prepare interesting activities with delicious treats during the festivals. If possible, i really want to live here continually until my graduation.

Ernest Place has been a great accommodation to live at. The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished, there are plenty of social spaces, maintenance issues have been dealt with promptly and Michaela at the front desk has done a very good job at looking after myself and my flatmates for the past 3 years :)

I have stayed at Ernest Place for 2 years now, and I cannot fault it. Michaela and Dionne are exceptional and so friendly! Ernest place is always immaculate, well kept and beautiful. The rooms, kitchens, cinema, gym, sauna and social spaces are really modern and classy. If there is ever an issue, Colin comes right away to fix it! The car park is perfect for keeping your car safe. The only thing is that it is a little far from town but with the free bus pass, it really is not an issue at all. You’re also a 5 min walk from so many shops such as Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, the range, TK maxx, McDonald’s and Starbucks. So many more! I also feel really safe here as the only way to access the accommodation is through a keycard and there is also security at night. There is the added bonus of Sky lounge parties and treats on special occasions. We have pancakes tomorrow for pancake day! If you need 5 star accommodation at a reasonable price, this is the place to stay!

Great accommodation with amazing facilities on offer, including gym, sauna, cinema room, roof terrace etc. Everything is modern and kept very clean, the staff is very helpful, friendly, and prompt in dealing with issues. Plus, you get a free bus pass to travel around Durham, and Tesco Extra and other shops are 1 min away.

Ernest Place is a great accommodation, right next to an industrial park so lots of shops very close by including a big Tesco, with lots of amenities and social spaces, and brilliant security. It is a little further out from the university spaces but they provide a free bus pass for Arriva that applies to the Durham University area that massively cuts down on travel costs and makes it more than worth living that little bit further out. The staff are so friendly and helpful and host plenty of social gatherings to get involved in, such as Halloween parties, pancake mornings, and hot chocolate stations, all free.

After staying at Ernest place last year, I decided to stay again this year. I can honestly say that the staff are super friendly and accommodating. My experience with Ernest Place's studios has been very positive. Staff were approachable and very helpful throughout; any maintenance issues were resolved quickly, and these issues were themselves few and far between. The building is quite removed from Durham's city centre, but the provision of a free bus pass alleviates this somewhat, and there are advantages to the location, such as a neighbouring Tesco Extra. The building itself has a number of facilities, including a gym, dinner party rooms, and a sky lounge with rooftop terrace.

The year I stayed at Ernest Place was very enjoyable. The team of staff were very diligent and responsible, they helped me receive packages, print documents and provide me with necessary services. The maintenance staff ensured that the equipment in the apartment was in good condition. The apartment facilities are complete, including a movie room, study room, gym, party room, etc. And these are all free, the experience is very good. The apartment often holds various activities, which enriches my life. Although the apartment is a bit far from the business school, the apartment provides a free bus card, which allows me to take all Arrival company buses in Durham for free. There are many large supermarkets and restaurants around the apartment, including Tesco, and they are all very close, which makes my life very convenient. I sincerely recommend Ernest Place to everyone, the value for money price will definitely not disappoint you.

Beautiful dormitory. Lovely staff. The main issue is frequent unserious fire alarms that make it harder to take seriously when important. Bike theft is concerning. On one occasion, I left my laundry whilst I went out, and when I came back, it was moved. They should implement more obvious signs that state not to touch other people's laundry. Lastly, it's disappointing that they cannot hold food deliveries for you if you have lectures or are away. As an individual with a special diet, the majority of my food is bought online; it's a shame that I have to look elsewhere and consequently pay more to meet their guidelines of acceptable packages.

I have lived here for 2 years and can not complain. Flats are amazing and staff are great. Deal with complains really quickly. Social spaces are amazing and facilities like study room and dining rooms are really good to have for dinner parties or study sessions.

This is a very lovely place. The staff are very kind and they can make quick responses to your request. Facilities are excellent. There are cinema, dining room, vending machines, gym, laundry room and so on. You can have party with your friends on the common areas. Also, Ernest Place give free arriva bus card and it only takes five minutes to get to the bus stop. Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, McDonald’s and many shops are nearby. Quite convenient!

It is a great place to live. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Tesco extra is very close to the flat which is a great convenience. The only downside is that it is far from the university, but the free bus pass given to us solved this problem very well. All in all it is a great experience to live here!

It’s a really good place to live with great hospitality staff. My favourite things are: - that there are shops like tesco right across the road, with Aldi, Lidl, TK max and more nearby - that we get an arriva bus pass included to help get to campus/into town - that there’s a dishwasher in my flat (couldn’t live without it now honestly) - the TV in my room! :D Really it’s clear that extra effort is made here to make students comfortable. And this year it stayed relatively affordable despite rises in other buildings - I currently pay £130 pw whilst in similar accommodations an en-suite would be at least £155 or so now. All in all a good experience so far, especially as a final year student who doesn’t mind a teeny bit of distance from the university bubble. Less FOMO that way XD.

It is simple: Ernest Place is AMAZING!!! I have lived here now for nearly two years and loved every second spent here. The staff are amazing and always there for a chat, support or even a friendly smile. The social experience has been amazing, I originally signed a contract not knowing anyone but I have now made friends for life. I have made so many memories here and will be sad to leave when I graduate this summer. I would definitely recommend it and I can promise you will not regret the decision to live here. You have Starbucks which we all need as students at your doorstep, plus Tesco extra, Lidl and Aldi. Which is not as easy to access if you lived in the city centre. If you like running or walking there is a beautiful countryside walk nearby which leads you to the city centre. You may even see some animals on the way. The accommodation also comes with free access to a sauna, cinema room, dining rooms and gym, so you really do get your money's worth. Would not change a thing!

Ernest Place is hands down one of the coolest student accommodation spots in Durham! The rooms have a premium feel and are packed with all sorts of amenities. The living spaces are designed to provide ample room for day-to-day activities, including a dining area, a kitchen space, and a study area. Students with extensive tech equipment will appreciate the abundance of electrical sockets available throughout the rooms. And when you need a break from your room, there are plenty of awesome communal spaces, which offer more space for students to relax or study. Plus, you'll love how everything you need is right on your doorstep - Tesco, TK Maxx, Boots, and a bunch of fast food joints are all within a quick two-minute walk. The staff there are super friendly and super helpful. If you need anything, they are always on hand to give you a hand. With their support, you'll be able to really focus on your studies and not worry about a thing.

I would certainly recommend living in Ernest Place. Firstly, there are excellent amenities: a sauna (I mean which other student accommodation can you find with one, some £££+ spas don’t even have them), a well equipped gym, dining rooms (With fully equipped kitchens for all your come dine with me dreams), the sky lounge, in addition to the rooftop Terrance that conjoins it, operates as both a communal space and a study space (+ a lovely area to soak up some sunshine on the few days a year that there is some), also there’s a Pool table, Vending machine and Cinema room (what more could students really ask for) The rooms are furnished with a modem aesthetic, Including: TVs, Microwave oven, and Excellent heating systems. Additionally having the Bills included makes a massive difference in contrast to sharing a house, (saves you the stress of getting extortionate bills). Lastly, the proximity to all shops and an excellent hospitality team makes Ernest stand out even more as a great accom

I have lived at Ernest Place for the past two years and my experience so far has been nothing short of wonderful. The management team are super friendly, if you have any issues they are really helpful in addressing them. The location is a little far from the university, but the free bus pass you get means that it's fairly easy to get into town, plus its proximity to a Tesco Extra, Aldi, and Lidl makes it really convenient for buying food. The management team at Ernest arrange social / wellbeing events throughout the year, and there are so many great social spaces that you can book such as the cinema room and dining rooms. The spaces are kept really nice and clean and the room layouts are really well designed! Plenty of storage and TVs as standard make Ernest feel like a luxury hotel while still being homely. Cannot recommend Ernest enough!

I would certainly recommend living in Ernest Place; personally, I had great time living here for two years! The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, everything is running smooth and organised: it is the most convenient place to live of all Durham student accommodations. There’s a wide range of amenities on the property: gym, sauna, cinema room, plenty of open social spaces as well as private rooms available upon request, such as dinner rooms with fully equipped kitchen, a large table, and a TV. The entire facility is new, modern, and beautifully designed. During the year, several opportunities are organised with free snacks and drinks for residents to meet each other. It is a 25min walk from city centre, however, you receive a free bus pass for the duration of your tenancy, there is a massive Tesco right outside the accommodation (open until midnight 6/7 days a week), and the neighbourhood is quiet at nights (in comparison to clubs and student parties in city centre).

Not only is this an amazing accommodation with great facilities, everyone including the staff here are amazing and really make the experience. We have pancake days, Easter egg hunts and accommodation parties! Couldn't recommend more!

I loved living here. It is not that far away from my department of study. The overall experience is great, especially the value for the place is cheaper than any other place in main town. I loved living here and will miss this place next year😭

I’ve been living at Ernest Place for two years now and have absolutely no regrets. The accommodation feels like a luxury hotel with extremely friendly staff at the reception (joanna & michaela) and numerous high quality amenities and social spaces. The studio I live in has 4 induction hobs which are comparatively stronger than other accommodations which is a plus point. The room has ample living space and the interior design is modern and cosy. Location wise, it’s only a 5 minute bus ride from the city centre and a free bus pass is provided; also, there’s a tesco extra just outside the accommodation which makes life extremely convenient. To conclude, I am extremely satisfied with my stay at ernest place and I could not recommend this place enough to other students!

I have lived in Ernest Place for the past 2 years and I couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation. Despite being a distance from the university, the convenience of being close to the large supermarkets and the provision of a bus pass negates this inconvenience. The staff at Ernest Place are lovely and friendly, and the facilities available there are very good! The staff also put on social events and giveaway free things on special occasions: for example: pancake making on pancake day, a free breakfast morning, welcome party at the start of the year. I stayed in an en-suite room with a shared kitchen. They are both a good size, with lots of storage space. The bathrooms are small but it’s enough space for one person. The rooms aren’t very soundproof, but the walls aren’t that thin either. Overall, the accommodation quality is very good!

I’d just like to say that after living at Ernest place this year, I have had such a wonderful experience that I have rebooked for next year. The social spaces are gorgeous, everywhere is clean, it is in a great location for food shopping etc. The regular checks on fire alarms/cleaning of shower heads and now the implementation of cleaning kitchens is all an added bonus to this incredible accommodation. I cannot thank Joanna and Michaela for such amazing property management. They are so kind and friendly, and always happy to help. I’d go as far as to say that Ernest Place is one of the nicest accommodations in Durham for the price as this is by far the best value for money. Everything is top notch! I loved my time at Ernest Place over the course of two years. The rooms are really comfy and spacious and there’s a lot of facilities which are well kept. The Hospitality Wardens and Staff are really cheerful and helpful and are quick in responding to maintenance issues, enquiries and other requests. It’s also in a quiet area where all the amenities are within a 5 minute walk. It is a bit far from the university, but they offer a bus pass which takes you across the city, which is helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Ernest Place offers a really wonderful place to stay as a Post-grad student and I have been very happy there. The facilities are top notch and I have enjoyed living in a tidy, clean, warm space with the chance to connect with fellow students. The dining room spaces have provided the opportunity to share meals together in larger groups for birthday parties and other celebrations which has been a lot of fun. Living in a studio apartment has been a real blessing, offering a space to retreat to after a long day of studying that is quiet and relaxing. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. Having so many shops nearby makes buying everyday essentials easy and there are several bus stops close to the accommodation that allow you to get to the library within half and hour. A bus pass is also included in the package. In comparison to other accommodation options, Ernest Place is seen as far out in Durham terms, however, the quality of accommodation makes up for this.

I have loved my time at Ernest Place! Even though it is slightly far out the bus pass makes it very easy to get into town quickly, I could get to the science campus in 20 minutes. The staff at Ernest Place are truly exceptional, the events they put on were so fun and created a real sense of community and any issues we had were resolved quickly. Having on site maintenance is amazing, things were fixed same day. The social spaces were great and meant I didn’t have to go to the uni study spaces as the sky lounge was perfect! The rooms are very modern with lots of storage space (I had more then enough!). I would definitely recommend Ernest Place.

Stayed here over the course of my 1 year in Durham and don't regret it! Lovely studio accommodation, with a GREAT staff who are so helpful and kind - thanks Joanna & Michaela - giving out free goodies too, maintenance always very prompt, lots of cool social spaces, a free bus pass, and of course the big Tesco right across the street! Location is a bit far from the centre, but is doable with the bus. I honestly miss Ernest Place - it was just a comfortable experience all-around!

It was a really lovely stay at Ernest. Although the location is a bit far from the city center, life is even better with all the malls around (within 5 mins walking distance), the modern room design and the free bus card provided by Ernest. Definitely my first choice if I choose to stay in student flats again.

Ive really enjoyed my time at earnest Michaela and Joanna do their best to provide quality living for all residents including events and parties! Although it’s abit far from the university it’s not the end of the world, can be there within an hour if you get public transport which a card for free transport was provided! I rebooked to live here and plan to finish my studies at earnest. My friends who don’t live here wish they had booked here instead. Meeting people and getting out and about is key! But I recommend highly !

loved staying in Ernest place, staff are friendly and helpful and the place is continent with a gym, study spaces, laundry and more. right next to you is a tesco extra, aldi, lidl, iceland and more. it’s a bit far from the uni campus with a 30-40 minute walk but there are buses to take you, and you get given a buss pass when you move in.

Really love this accommodation. I live in a studio apartment and it’s spacious, modern and beautifully designed. The facilities are really good and having a gym on site is really convenient. The social spaces are cleaned frequently and thoroughly, and the hospitality team have been absolutely amazing. They have resolved any maintenance issues I’ve had super quickly, and they are generally lovely to interact with. Location wise, having Tesco and the retail park so close by has been ideal, though it is a distance away from the centre of Town and the library etc. That being said, there are frequent buses into town and plenty of social spaces which you can study in so it really isn’t an issue. In terms of the socialising aspect, I have found it a little harder to create a network of friends here, but that may partially be due to living in a studio by myself and not sharing a kitchen space with other students. Overall this is a really lovely place to live and I highly recommend it

I’ve loved my stay at Ernest. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help you. The rooms and communal areas are really modern and spacious. Communal areas are always clean and there’s always space to study or hang out. There is access to a gym, sauna, study rooms, dining rooms and cinema room included and they’re never too busy. Right next door there’s a big Tesco, Lidl, aldi, Iceland, home n bargains, barbers, cafe, tk max, loads of shops. Despite that it’s a very quiet area. Getting to the centre takes 15min by bus and around 30-40min to campus.

Ernest Place is well placed for local shopping being just minutes from a range of shops. With it being in Gilesgate it is quite a far walk from the university, especially the science site but I think this is fairly reflected in the price and bus links are usually sufficient. The accomodation itself is new and generally well kept. The social spaces are very nice. While I would recommend Ernest Place to a friend there are some downsides. Firstly the opening hours of the reception is only 9-5:30 Mon-Fri. While this is appropriate for most students, it isn't particularly compatible with a full time post-grad life and it may be difficult to collect parcels when there's no flat mates around. The other downside, which is luck of the draw is the size of the windows in some of the facing in flats. Unfortunately I was unlucky and have a very small window which means the room is often very dark and warm. Overall though a good accomodation that is fairly priced.

Ernest Place is definitely comfortable to live in especially with Tesco extra only 1 min away it almost feels like a giant fridge outside of your house. You’ll be able to make lots of friends in here but if you haven’t had friends in colleges yet then EP will be an independent bubble and sort of exclude you from the big group in town. BUT depends what you want. My time here has been brilliant.
Ernest Place turned out to be ideal for me during my PhD study, and I ended up rebooking twice. After a year at Sheraton Park (Ustinov College), the contrast in the standard of accommodation was sharp. From the stark white of Sheraton, my studio at Ernest Place feels calm and cozy, with its neutral décor and well-appointed furnishings. Located just across the road from a very large Tesco supermarket, shopping has been a breeze, cutting down on an extra weekly chore. This element of convenience is also present in Ernest Place's facilities itself - for my purposes having such easy access to a gym was fantastic, though there are also relaxing social spaces to take a break in. The free S1 bus pass, too, took the stress out of getting down to the library and university campus. Mostly, however, I think the best thing about Ernest Place is the staff - from management, to reception, to cleaning and maintenance. Everything just 'works', there is no stress; everyone is friendly and helpful.
It’s a very comfortable, nice accommodation. The area is very convenient as there is a large tesco store 1 minute away, and restaurants within a short walking distance. The accommodation is clean, the rooms are large and have many shelves, places to put stuff in. The staff are really nice, helpful and friendly, they’re always trying their best to make the residents feel comfortable during their stay at the accommodation.😊
The social spaces were shut for most of the stay due to COVID-19, but once they were open they were easy to make the most of, and since they were so large it was easy to remained distanced at the same time! The terrace was especially helpful for the hotter days of summer, and 200% made up for not having a specific 'garden' as you may have in a house. All the furniture is incredibly comfortable in the social spaces, and the furniture in the rooms (as well as the fixtures) are all gorgeous and really high quality. I have loved my stay here, it has made the entire university experience easier since I know my flat is somewhere I can feel comfortable and 'at home'
Ernest Place in Durham is a valuable accommodation. The facility worth more rent fees. The hospitality team is really helpful and warm. The location is far from the city centre, but surrounded by various groceries, so it depends your requirements. The pink bus that the accommodation offered for free to the city centre is not reliable. I would highly recommend here if you don't need to go to uni every morning.
Amazing place with different types of rooms and studios (suitable for different budgets), free sauna, gym, gaming and studying rooms. Amazing hospitality staff. Free bus to take you to and bring you from the city center. Super fast Internet (more than 100 Mbps). In front of Tesco Extra the only branch in Tesco that provides organic food. close to TK maxx, Lidl and Aldi. I love living here as this place provides everything I need and close to variety of stores.
I have stayed here for my entire degree, and found the facilities second to none. The social spaces, gym and sauna create a great student experience.

Comfortable and very well-equipped accommodation. Facilities at Ernest Place are really amazing, and I’ve been particularly impressed with the quality of the sauna! The staff are extremely friendly and, being across the road from a Tesco Extra really does make for a very convenient existence in Durham. Overall, very happy with the accommodation.

We had great time in Ernest place. The accommodation is 3 minute away from Tesco extra, which made life so much easier and more convenient. The accommodation itself is brilliant. The studio room is luxurious and cozy. The facilities such as gym is also luxurious. It is a pity that we didn’t get a chance to enjoy others such as cinema and lounge due to the pandemic. The management team is very professional, kind and thoughtful. Highly recommend!
