I’ve had a great experience studying In Swansea. And living at the old way centre makes life much more easier. The Reception team are very welcoming and kind, you almost have accessibility to everything locally, the train station isn’t far and there are bus stops located on every corner to get you in and out of lectures.

I have had a good time studying at Swansea University
Swansea University has a great campus and facilities and the tutors have really developed me in Area of business Management.
Swansea University is a university that offers a wide variety of opportunities and careers for all individuals. The delivery from lectures are very concise and are always available through email, zoom and office hours to provide any form of guidance. Swansea University tackled the online lectures and examinations extremely well, providing as much information to students as possible, making a calming approach to January and end of year examinations.
Despite the pandemic the uni did its best to offer a valuable student experience. I stayed at Bay Campus with its own private beach which is really good for getting away from all the studying for a while. As for student life, there were lots of online events happening throughout both semesters. The lecturers are very friendly and accesible. Also, there is an employability team within the School of Management that does a great job in helping students get internships, placements or graduate jobs.
Swansea University is the place to be! From the friendly staff and students to the breathtaking views, they’ve got it all. The quality of education is outstanding and the lecturers make learning an enthralling experience.
Throughly enjoy my time here. I have been a student since 2018.
I think the university is great but the bay campus has alot of work needed to give students the best experience of university
Overall, this year my experience has been great but limited. Due to Covid and some of the issues this has caused with restrictions etc. We have not been able to have the full experience of Swansea University which is disappointing. However the university staff, including on campus staff have been so helpful and supportive.
Swansea university is a very good institution. It has a number of good things to offer the students.
Singleton campus is really not the best campus. They have a lot to upgrade and they really need to renovate the halls for them to look better and make them more accommodating.
Great campus facilities, study areas like libraries good for working
Swansea has been a great experience for me in regards to how to go about my future and career path
Overall the past two years at Swansea University have been quite fun, with the exception of COVID and not being able to do much. However we were able to make the most of it and learning wasn’t as bad as I thought it would when learning online.
Awesome university with wonderful staffs and nice academic mentors
Great university wouldn’t change it for another uni
As much as these certain facets like the SU haven’t been up to scratch here, the entire university experience from the accommodation to student houses to most importantly the student community and people I’ve met even if I had an offer from Oxford knowing what I do now from my time at Swansea University I wouldn’t look to go anywhere else in the world. I’ve made life long friends, and am leaving with a 2:1 in Law and a Masters in Marketing, for that alone I can not say a bad word about my overall university experience at Swansea
Excellent teaching. Great location. Enjoyable course. Would highly recommend.
Great university and stunning location, very helpful lecturers and workers at the university making the situation over that past year or so more bearable.
The university has done everything within its means to provide us with lectures and practicals during our pandemic on my course, everyone’s circumstances have been taken into consideration and it is greatly appreciated
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Swansea University. I am currently studying my masters, and I also studied my undergraduate degree there. The teaching standards are phenomenal and the community feel is amazing. I would highly recommend Swansea University to all prospective students!
Unreal experience, best uni, great people, great facilities
Great experience over the last 3 years
Swansea university has the perfect location and offers many clubs, societies and events that take advantage of this (like surfing). The campus has so much to offer including shops, food and bars too!
My uni experience at Swansea has been so memorable and I am gutted for it to end. The university itself is amazing and the extracurricular availability are fantastic for meeting people and socialising. The beach is a lovely way to break up your studies, and the night life is so fun
Amazing uni with amazing support available to everyone
I put cardiff as my firm, then at the last minute when both unis had accepted me I decided on swansea (insurance) instead. I am SO glad I did. For this review it should be noted that it's for BAY CAMPUS My first year here has been like many other people, stuck inside for much of it and having to put up with online learning. Although in person teaching would obviously be better, I can't fault their online teaching. Every session was recorded, and canvas (where they put your calendar, your modules, assignments etc) was very modern and easy to use. Despite the obvious flaws of lockdown, the student union have tried very hard to put things on for us that could be done within the covid guidelines. I remember playing laser tag in the dockyard (big marquee) for example, as well as there being a food market for a couple of days. There were also quiz nights held in the marquee which were very popular. I'm nearing the maximum characters so Facilities- v.good Internet- use Ethernet
They helped me get everything and anything I needed, especially when I felt homesick. They are super nice and made me feel like I could get good grades because they helped me understand the content.
It’s a really nice university with really nice campuses and good facilities and the beach is just wonderful, the staff is very helpful and friendly as wel
Good university just needs more work done
Staff are always really helpful with everything and the level of teaching and resources is excellent!
I’ve loved Swansea uni since first year, but I do have to say that due to covid a lot of things have gone down in quality such as the welfare system with loads of mental health now being ignored as well as the availability of facilities such as the library or other buildings.
Life at Swansea has been enjoyable. The campus is nice, the environment is lovely and everyone here is nice. I have really enjoyed my time here and it was very easy to get around because it is such a small town!
Swansea university has a great employability team, wifi can be tricky to access on campus.
I love Swansea University! Ive been extremely lucky to have very supportive lecturers and have been able to carry on my course even while having a baby through the year
Really good university to be at 😁
Great experience and amazing facilities
I have been at Swansea University, from undergraduate all the way through to starting a PhD this year. I would not choose any other university. Amazing staff, support, and the best year cohort. Swansea University is UK's best University, without a shadow of a doubt!
The best university experience!
Swansea University has brought me a great deal of intellectual challenge as an engineering student as well as very exciting on site course-related activities. The university also provides a broad range of well-being opportunities
Bay campus hasn’t been the best experience. It’s quite far from the city centre and the rent is incredibly expensive for what it is. Through Covid the teaching has been the best possible but the beach being walking distance from halls is one of the few positives about the campus itself
The university can be a fun place to be, but unfortunately, I have not had the best experience with them. The teaching quality is extremely inconsistent. Campus facilities on Singleton are run down and poorly, and campus facilities on bay are somewhat unsightly and soulless. Clubs and societies have also been highly inconsistent, and there is clearly little quality control from the university students union. Careers service points students mostly to jobs in companies that no one has heard of, which is not what students should aspire for after university. Most importantly, complaints about the lecturers and service received by students are very poorly attended to, and the university is defensive rather than forthcoming. Bit of an underwhelming university experience overall I'm afraid.
Amazing university with great facilities
I have really liked my time in Swansea university because , I have had the opportunity to do what I wanted to do and it gave a lot of opportunities to do things in my free time
Excellent Univesity with different facilities, give you a great option for your studies. Highly recommend.
The university brought me a lot of experience, including the degree as well as social and adult live. Always very supportive with the student inquiries.
A conducive environment for learning and impressive academic setting.
Happy to be here, lovely sea side.
some teacher are not helpful and professional even they did miss the lecture that students all attend. What a shame
Great experience I had at this uni
I have really enjoyed my time at Swansea
Brilliant 4 years studying BSc Business Management with a year in industry
I had a few different uni’s on my list, and I can safely say picking Swansea University was the best choice I've made.
Great staff. Good facilities. Needs an improved social life and student union to meet people like minded.
A great experience, location is stunning. Worth it!
Swansea University has multiple disciplined areas of study and research with extensive library and library services plus health and well-being bringing a wide diversity of experiences. Swansea University is a fantastic university.
Worst student experience ever. Teachers don’t know english. Students have to pay £4 a day for parking, otherwise park 30 min walk away from bay campus. None of the relevant staff will do anything about it. Nobody does anything that the grading system disadvantages international students. Staff pretend to be helpful but behind close doors don’t take complaints any further. Swansea University is what one would refer to as ’potemkin village’. Everybody is pretending it works well and students love it, but students actually complain a lot about poor teaching quality (language barrier) and accessibility particularly. Absolutely ridicolous behavior from the University. Don’t recommend to anyone.
Very welcoming, always something going on
Amazing place and and an amazing university. I have very talents lecturers that can teach my course very well. They are very supporting and caring. The whole vibe here is great.
I just finished my first year in the university and I have to say I am utterly disappointed from almost every aspect. Most of the lectures are unqualified to teach their subjects. Not to mention that some of them don't know English very well. On the other hand, there are some lecturers that are absolutely amazing and teach you the subjects in a very interesting way. One of the main disadvantages is that when you need some guidance for a coursework and you ask your lecturers, they all guide you in various directions and at the end its a matter of luck who is going to mark it. However, they are very approachable. Living is Bay is mostly quiet, the buildings are new and clean. Living in HSV is absolutely DISGUSTING! Very old, smelly, loud, you have problems with washing your clothes, a lot of buses don't show up or are late, only one SPAR which has barely anything in it and is overpriced. Both Bay and HSV are overpriced. Advice: Find somewhere else to live in town or best avoid this uni.
Bad food, nice library but too public. Far away from the city centre
Good location, good teaching staffs.
There are many clubs and societies to get involved in if you want to, however i was not interested in this
Great uni, but has some problems with management, Bay campus facilities and bus service. Last one is especially horrible. WiFi on campus dies quite often, especially in accommodation.
Many study spaces all around campus. Always places to get food and drink. My course society is very fun. I have no idea about the student union but everything is good. Can always connect to the internet and there is plenty of support.
Good University but too far away from everything
I do not really use a lot of the university facilities
Swansea is a brilliant place to live and study. Spent the greatest years of my life here.
Being at Swansea felt like being in a second home. From the minute I arrived I enjoyed the lifestyle, atmosphere, freedom and surroundings. Being next to the beach was wonderful and living on campus was really exciting. Throughout my three years I was able to make friends for life through my course and lacrosse society. Being involved in a club really enhanced my experience, you play together, party together and hang out together. Wind street being the central place for a night out was really good. It created a festival like atmosphere on the street every Wednesday night. A night out in Swansea is definitely the best night out in the UK hands down there is no where else like it. I felt really supported throughout my three years. My lecturers were always there to help and were really engaging in lectures. My personal tutor was always there to turn to in case I had any issues. Finally Welsh Varsity is amazing and no other uni varsity comes close #GWA
Swansea University is such a friendly place to study. The lectures are approachable and the flexibility within the courses allows you to specialise in your particular area of interest. Studying towards my Masters here definitely helped me to get the job I wanted and made me stand out from the crowd. The location is something that made this place a great place to live with stunning beaches and tranquil parks all within a stone's throw from the campus. I would thoroughly recommend Swansea to any prospective student!
This University is a dump .Keep your money and save your time for something worth while . This place has a long history .
My time so far at swansea has been incredible, I really feel looked after in the university and the course is really well taught. Plus it has a beach!
ABSOLUTE S******. Avoid!!! Unqualified staff members as lecturers can’t actually teach . And it is s***** town. Nothing to do. Atleast the beaches are nice and Cardiff isn’t too far. Save your money and time and just apply somewhere else!!!
Very outdated campus, no societies outside of sport, careers service forced while having many frustrating boring tasks.
Swansea is the perfect city for a uni student, with the amazing beach and surroundings and wind street is magnificent. Having the time of my life
Nothing to do on campus. Buildings in serious need of renovation/repair. No help from accommodation for many complaints within my building
More student union involvement on the Bay Campus would be good to see, as student services such as careers or societies are limited unless you are on the main (Singleton) campus or willing to travel to it.
Really good student union but could expand events. Brilliant support from library and tutors.
Absolutely terrible uni. The Bay campus library is far too small with not enough computers and the uni management refuse to do anything about it. Singleton looks like a filthy, run down council estate. Library staff are rude and unhelpful. Many lecture theaters do not even have proper whiteboards and the projectors frequently malfunction. The on site tesco is too small and always runs out of food at lunch time. All other campus food options are horribly overpriced. Accomodation is overpriced and substandard, for instance one oven for 12 rooms and always cold. To be fair some lecturers are good and helpful but some are appallingly bad. Many modules you just end up having to teach yourself. Many societies are completely inactive. The uni always solicits student feedback but never acts on it.
Overall university is very good, the student union could be improved on
Not really any societies for me to be honest. I find it a little intimidating going to the meetings because they are led by diehard fans of the certain subject (Disney society, GOT society etc etc)
As probably one of the only first years who couldn't find a society to join, I'm probably more at fault than than the societies are. Swansea is a very sports-oreintated university, and if you're about as good as a small infant when it comes to hand eye coordination, that could be a problem. However, if there was a musical theatre society, I'd join in a heartbeat.
Internet was not very reliable or quick, library is not large enough (non-silent areas lack space during exam season)
The food in 52 degrees is shockingly bad, avoid the burger which I left on the plate half an hour ago in utter disgust, it was like a burnt brick and tasted off, the wifi is non existent and the atmosphere the same. Such a shame as it could be a little gold mine.
active, motivated and determined staff and accommodation services.
Very stressful during exam period but well worth going to uni for, socially and academically it excels you. A lot of independent learning though.
friendly environment, stunning location and great nightlife
I love Swansea but crap weather
Not the prettiest on campus but so convenient
Live in Penmaen it's the best, sooo much fun
Very impressive provisions, with almost everything you need in the heart of the campus: Grocery store, post office, banks (yes, multiple), resto's, coffee bars, cinema, clothing shop, pub, ... home deliveries from different supermarkets are no issue and the housing on campus is very decent, just 100 meters away from the sea. There's a very active social life, with a well functioning Students Union (however, they don't know how to throw really good parties; but Swansea's own nightlife compensates that very much ;) )
good uni with a good clubbing road near, lots of things to do in spare time and a nice campus.
The new bay campus is great for when you have lectures as it is a 30 second walk to the lecture halls, the one aspect that is lacking is the social side, I'm not saying the place is completely dead but it could be a bit more lively at times.
Lovely accommodation and helpful staff to help with anything needed.
Great location, great support, good standards all round.
Great university, made loads of friends and had loads of fun and it's not even been 2 months yet
Everyone is okay here at Swansea, aesthetically, not the nicest looking uni, with little things that could be added to make the uni experience just a little better. For example a hairdressers/barbers, an alternative to Costcutter. But JC's has a great atmosphere and is okay priced, and Tooters is very cheap!
My university experience is both challenging and exciting.
Was great until they moved the Engineering to the Bay Campus which is a joke! Brand new buildings rusting away after being open for 2 months, WiFi that barely works, hardly any computers on site, an hours bus ride to the nearest shop and back, no SU Bar or social space. The accommodation is freezing and there's nowhere to store food/pans/plates in the kitchen. Car parking is non-existent. Lecture rooms don't even have chalkboards or whiteboards in them - even the lecturers complain! Half the site still has building work going on which you can hear over your lecturers voice.
Amazing experience... Bay campus will make it much better for engineering and business students Down side is that transport is expensive and swansea isn't the safest of areas
I absolutely love swansea! Great location! Great course! Great lecturers!
