Oldway Centre Biography
At Oldway Centre you are never far from the action. You have easy access to the city centre where you can find an abundance of restaurants and shops to explore. Swansea Grand Theatre is only an eleven-minute walk away and offers various forms of entertainment. Getting around is also a breeze as the train station is only a one-minute walk away. To get to Swansea University Singleton Abbey and Bay Campus all you need to do is take a twenty-five-minute bus ride.
At Oldway Centre you have a selection of residents’ events and social spaces to enjoy, including a well-equipped gym, a comfortable lounge area, a tranquil outdoor courtyard, a cinema room and a games room complete with a ping-pong and pool table. To ensure your stay is as convenient as possible, there is a study room, Wi-Fi and broadband, laundry facilities and a cycle store. For your benefit, there is an on-site residents’ team, a security team and CCTV.
When it comes to choosing your room, you have a range of en suite rooms in shared apartments and studios, all of which have contents insurance and all bills included in the price. These modern and purposefully built rooms vary in size and price so you can be sure to find your perfect home away from home. Inside your room, you can find a study area, storage space, a bed, an en suite bathroom and a private kitchen inside the studio rooms.

Been with oldway now two years and staff are always lovely and kind, never had a single issues where I feel like I can’t go talk to them.
Good location and close to wind street and the university. The gym is always clean and their staff are very friendly.
Slightly expensive for what the room actually is. The staff are extremely helpful however. Lots of issues with bugs at the start of this year, second time the exterminators have been called already.

Great value for money compared to other accoms
It’s a great accommodation a lil bit far from campus but very close to town which is rather convenient
the accommodation was dirty the ceilings and floors were almost black i had to scrub them before feeling comfortable. the toilets were also not cleaned after the last person the shower was mouldy and had black stuff stuck in the sides.
The kitchen was filthy when we first moved in, yellow spots on the floor and spider webs, it was even the same in my friends flats.
It’s good, maintenance are a bit late but overall it’s good
Such a friendly and safe environment. Only a few minutes away from the center. The staff are amazing always there to help or just have a chat. I think this is the best student accommodation in town!

I had the best time living here, Everything was clean on arrival and any maintenance issues were dealt with within a day of reporting it. Security and reception staff were super friendly and helpful. There are social spaces in the building but I didn’t often use them, living so close to the centre there was a lot to do nearby. Nightlife on the street can be noisy so if this would bother you I would definitely recommend asking about getting a room that faces the courtyard or the back of the building.

I have lived at the Oldway centre for the past 2 years and overall I’ve had a really positive experience there. Constance and Carly have consistently been kind and welcoming, helping me feel more at ease in Swansea, especially since being away from family can be challenging.

Rude and unhelpful staff. Unusable common space due to automatic light. No proper cleaning before moving in. Hikvision CCTV everywhere. Formal complaint unprocessed. They offer free kitchen cleaning if you leave a review so there is an obvious conflict of interest for others to leave good reviews.

I want to start out by saying the staff at the Oldway Centre are lovely, they really make your time living there great whether this be just chatting with you or arranging activities. In particular I want to give a massive thank you to Constance and Kacey who were always there for the students, supporting them through anything. The location of Oldway is great, however, the area around it to no fault of them can be a bit rough and dangerous at times. The main students social areas and reception were always clean. I would say I wish the rooms were cleaned better before moving into them as the floors were dirty and the kitchen had to be cleaned when I moved in. Overall I really enjoyed my time here and it is sad to say goodbye.

I've had a great time living here. I've enjoyed the regular events that Oldway have held, especially the Strava challenge in May (which I won). Have also rebooked for next year so I definitely would recommend this accommodation.
Love all the staff there its so welcoming and the help and community is the best. Also the rooms are nice and spacious and whenever theres a problem, maintenance is very helpful

Oldway looks amazing , in an amazing location the wifi is great but not for gaming but overall the best experience I have had in terms of accommodation

Oldway centre was not our first option, but we ended up booking there without knowing the property. The staff were very welcoming and communicative since the beginning. Further the process has been very easy. The place is really good, although there are some setbacks. Firstly, the treadmills have not worked since September and continue to be failing; the launderette is almost always dirty and the drying machines usually fail to do the job. Lastly, the so called “study space” is not adequate, since it is right in the entrance. Not useful at all. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay: near everything, great events and friendly staff always.

Oldway centre has excellent staff who are really friendly and always there to help. Great facilities like the gym and cinema. The WiFi connection is pretty good and overall I’ve had a good experience staying here.

The oldway centre is an amazing place to live as a student when studying in Swansea, its location is very convenient as it is located almost in the middle of everything you need, the community within the building are very welcoming. There are lots of students from different cultures and backgrounds so you'll find a place you can fit in 100%. The gym is also accessible to all residence, And the equipment is also very good, so there’s no need to pay for membership elsewhere.

Staff always friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for both campuses, bus stops easy access, so makes up for lack of parking.
Good experience overall but mail system is awful. I keep losing my mail because reception doesn’t keep track them either, so that’s an bit annoying. Social spaces are decent but not great too. Fire alarms also go off at least 5/6 times a week or even sometimes 4/5 times a day, which is also ridiculous. However the rooms are great and the overall experience is worthwhile for the money. Just expect a lot of hassle when it comes to mail, neighbours, alarms and problem resolving with management whilst living here.
Amazing space for students who are looking for quick access to gym and other social areas
I had great time here, the reception is very helpful, and I live my room size, I would love to stay for the next year.
It was an enjoyable stay with near perfect experience. I definitely will recommend, but bear in mind that administration can be frustrating. They struggle to refund deposits and make up excuses. Takes months with no guarantee you’ll ever get it back because not all deposits are protected for whatever reason.

This accommodation has been one of the best student accommodations I have been to. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms are lovely and the gym is incredible, with loads of different equipments. The staff go above and beyond in organising events to ensure that students stay connected, so you can never feel lonely. We even got a free Chinese meal on Chinese New Year! It is a must stay if you are in Swansea as the place is lovely and it is affordable as well.

I have been in this accommodation for two years and never had any issues that were not resolved immediately. The staff is very friendly and always keen to help. One of the best locations at Swansea to live in when travelling from one campus to other, as it is exactly in the middle.

This is a student- friendly accommodation. The staff are so friendly and kind. One thing that is for sure is that when there is an issue, they will try to help you with it as soon as possible, as long as you inform them. It is also a great place to make friends because they host events which gives students the opportunity to interact and meet with other students

Perfect location to shops and bus stop near the city centre. The accommodation has lots of events and social opportunities to know people as well as promoting health and wellbeing for students. Receptionists are the friendliest people I've ever met and always willing to help. The rooms are nice and of decent size with a lovely view and lots of storage in both wardrobe and under the bed. Highly recommend this place and it has definitely made my uni experience better

The location in the city center on high street is definitely a big plus, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, shopping malls, banks and everything you need is within walking distance (15 minutes walk max). The staff are always friendly, helpful and professional. Rooms are nice and comfy. There’s a large gym with new and well maintained equipment. Takes a minute if you walk fast, two if you walk at a regular pace to get to the bus stop where busses to Swansea Uni Bay Campus and Singleton Campus makes stops.

Old way Centre on 39 High Street has to be the best student accommodation in Swansea,located in the heart of town with amazing views from the higher floors,the gym being my favourite facility,actually well equipped compared to alot over seen.It is also about 300 metres to the closest bus stop and is connected to every part of town giving you access to all the stores,be it food and clothing or upkeep you might need on your journey as a student in Swansea.Honest review-10/10

Quality and customer service really dipped after Fresh bought the building. Don't expect any offers of cashback to be respected. Security staff are very welcoming and polite. However, management staff are rude and unhelpful. Value for money has gone down with Fresh, they charge more than the last landlord but provide less. Overall it is an okay place to live but having lived in other accommodations I would suggest trying somewhere else. You won't be disappointed with this accommodation but it does leave you expecting more.

In regards to the management staff, we are continually looking for ways to improve, we are so sorry that you have the impression that we did not deliver the service that you deserved, I have noted your feedback and I will ensure that none of our residents feel this way. We are constantly preparing weekly events for our residents to make them feel welcome and comfortable in your room away from home. We agree with you that the cashback took more time than expected due to the management company change but we tried to keep everyone updated at every stage of the process. For the entire year I lived at the Old way centre in Swansea and during a world Pandemic, I have nothing bad to say about Oldway. Facilities that were unavailable to a student outside the accommodation were clearly compensated to anyone's best ability when circumstances with Covid improved. I have had nothing but excellent things to say about Oldway Swansea. From all the security staff, admissions team/reception, maintenance staff and cleaning staff, who provided moral support, excellent service and all the facilities a student needs it could offer as much as they could during a world pandemic, I thank you for everything. Pros: - Friendly and helpful staff. - Great location. - Decent social spaces. - Excellent gym. Cons: - Automatic lights don't work properly so you spend half the time walking down pitch black hallways, which is unsafe for obvious reasons. - The fridges are rubbish. They're not very cold so things like milk go bad 5-6 days before their use by date. - There was an issue with the windows leaking whenever it rained, and it took them over 6 months to get it sorted. - The firealarm can go off up to 5 times a week, and sometimes as early as 2am. - There is an absolutely horrid smell on the 2nd floor. The carpets should be pulled out and the whole floor deep-cleaned. It honestly smells like the floor is lined with dead animals. - They say we get 24/7 security. However, they have given security extra tasks to do around the building so they have to leave the front desk for hours at a time. I wouldn't mind but they shouldn't advertise as having 24/7 security when that is not the case.
Honestly so happy that i got to stay in this accommodation, the facilities and all the staff are so great. its really an all inclusive accommodation. the building is always clean and the staff are always here to help with anything! Also, its close to both the train station and the bus station so its really easy to transport anywhere!
