The facility at University is very nice and the professor all very friendly and good. I think it is a good experience in leeds.
Loved my time at the University of Leeds!
I was a postgraduate student doing my Masters and it was very emotionally draining. However, it was the most rewarding and life changing experience due to its supportive environment, good student union with delicious food and also the food markets every Monday on the campus itself. I really like the libraries as well where I used to study for exams and do my coursework. Access to the City Centre was also very easy from the campus where I used to explore and eat out a lot. The Careers Service were also very helpful in helping me to find direction in where I wanted to go next and have managed to secure a PhD and funding to continue my time at Leeds. I would with confidence recommend Leeds for future students because of its great supportive environment and great places to eat out. Also, great place to figure out what you want out of creating an independent life and Leeds can enhance your true capabilities. Ever though my Masters is over, my time in Leeds has not come to an end. :)
I really love Leeds and enjoy studying there! The campus is comfortable and the buildings are really nice!
Good range of food stalls on campus.
Really fun uni - make sure you get a good accommodation
Thank you for such a great time in Leeds!
Leeds University is really beautiful and I love everywhere here. All the buildings are perfect. And I really enjoy the food in the restaurant.
One of the best years of my adulthood life. I must say one year is very short for such a fantastic experience, but I feel like I gained so many things during my time at the University of Leeds. The staff and lecturers are kind and helpful, the modules structures are fantastic, and we have the best student union in the UK. I would never trade my experience at the University of Leeds with anything.
Awful experience, wish I chose a metropolitan. I don't know what they're doing to the students. But during my time, the referendum vote meant life or death. If you go to university, don't bring up politics. I didn't gain a single friend, got asked to leave multiple societies, which ironically I got suggested to join because apparently it's unhealthy to just work, Don't listen to people who tell you that you can "spread your wings", you can't. By law you can only do 120 credits a year, yet you're only in University less than 30 hours a week; sometimes less than 10. No matter how fast you do your work, it will not be accepted unless you submit it within a small frame near the submission date. I didn't go to University to get drunk and have drugs, I went to study, work hard, have my head down 60-70 hours a week. A total disappointment. I shouldn't have to go the same pace as the hungover dude at the back.
If you are a sound person who likes house parties and socialising with a ton of interesting and unique people then this is almost definitely the best university experience in the UK. The campus is top tier, so is the union, and Hyde park is just a one mile radius of almost all student houses and it has been one of the best experiences I could imagine to live there for 3 years.
The university is good. Sound frastracture and professional teaching staff. A lot of social activities.
Good facilities and universities overall
Good univerusty. Nice experience witj good people and fun times and good night life.
Great city and loved the facilities. My graphic communication design course was poor though.
The University of Leeds was excellent in all areas. No complaints.
Good uni, great student union and campus 10 mins from city centre
leeds is one of the most famous universities across the world. And the school is very beautiful. in addition, the academic atmosphere is very nice.
I am a foundation year student, and the University of Leeds is my goal, I want to try my best to go to there and enjoy my campus life.
University of Leeds is a perfect place to study
To be honest, going to the University of Leeds for my Masters (Bioscience) was the worst decision I have made academically. The Faculty of Biological Science is a complete shambles causing delays in feedback, and is rife with miscommunication. If you complain, it goes nowhere and meeting with the head of course was terrible as I was doing well and therefore had my complaint dismissed. The stress this course gave was unbelievable and don't get me started about applying for mitigation. Even with medical evidence, they don't approve mitigation despite a GP advising why it should be granted. The whole course was a disgrace leading to me leaving with nothing. I would strongly suggest that people choose a different university.
Great University, very social and diverse
The people in the Uni of Leeds make it what it is. Theres always someone to help
Probably the best mix of academic excellence and party life in the country. Definitely the best student union in the country, LUU is awesome. Careers service are okay but nothing special. The campus may have looks that only a mother can love but no one ever has much else bad to say about the uni.
Love it here! Having a lot of fun
good, many activities but I have never attend them
it's all good so far. but considering the situation recently, the University should take some precautions
Overall pretty decent. Would be better if they’d hurry up the building works
Very good teaching and facilities, good social environment around campus, plenty of things to get involved with.
The University of Leeds is an enjoyable place to study. There’s always something happening on campus and loads of societies for you to find like-minded people!
Very good all round - haven't used the careers service so cannot give an accurate rating on that, but I do receive frequent emails about careers fairs which is beneficial
I am throughly enjoying studying here.
First two years were amazing with great tutors who were enthusiastic about our work. Left for an internship in September 2017 and returned autumn 2018 When returned the course had a completely new course leader who unlike in previous years, final year was run by a guy who had no experience in education but instead had experience in the New York fashion industry This is way too old school for what a modern course needs! He never had anything good to say about our work and was often plain disrespectful about our work -making many of us cry. I felt like I could never discuss my ambitions creatively whilst in Final year & it always had an affect on my personal life on this course. I developed depression and just felt worthless due to the criticism received. In the 2nd semester of final year I managed to pull it together (without the help of the main tutors of the course the garment techs were the best)but do NOT study here under the new course leader!it’s toxic!!
Research intensive university that continues to try and improve in all necessary areas.
Comfortable environment to study in, good representatives of the student community, however the career services are always full and has insufficient resources
The staff are helpful and I was able to access help when needed
The campus is big and clean and smoking free. The surroundings are very nice.
Everything is good. I enjoy the life here.
Great courses, and close accommodation
I feel like home even though I am an international student
Diverse and helpful university. School of Law always has something going on like a breakfast, socials, etc. but downside is, there is a massive drinking culture if you're like me and don't drink. Although there are societies like High on Life which are for non-drinkers so very diverse and respectful to other cultures/beliefs.
I did a semester abroad in Leeds and I can only recommend you to do the same or at least to do a semester abroad in general. + lost of students in the city + teaching standard is on a high level + small seminars + ...
Good facilities and great campus.
Good uni, full of southerners on ket, people dress like characters from a 70s sitcom,
We STAN Leeds uni, beckett and trinty stuck
Mental health support for Black and ethnic minority students is non existent and support for Black international students is appalling. The union treats the BME societies like second class citizens from my experience of dealing with them, however the university has great facilities and career advancing opportunities. I’d suggest leeds employ a diverse range of mental health support workers who can understand different perspectives and cultural differences.
Most of students are studying hard here.
I had the best first year at UOL. Everyone was so supportive, I became a brand new person and have been able to better myself and my career since beginning.
Love this university, cannot flaw it at all, absolutely incredible
Amazing University. Really well taught course with great lecturers. The campus is great with everything you need. Libraries are amazing too.
Great location- nice mix between campus and city uni. Good services, clubs, union and society.
The university has everything you could need. All the possible support networks are in place if you need them and if you feel like something is missing there are people who will listen and make it happen.
Libraries do not open 24/7 which is a big no. The libraries are basic and limited in amount. Computer clusters are all riddled with disease and filth due to lack of maintenance. The uni is too strict in terms of attendance, and non academic staff (especially student support or admissions) are rude. Buildings are basic (especially engineering). The uni has amazing lab equipment, a good campus layout, and a lot of socializing events. Good food. Good and capable lecturers and staff. Other unis are leaps and bounds ahead of leeds, would not recommend. Sheffield was tons better, but con is the small city centre
There is a huge range of onsite facilities as well as societies. Very good for wanting to pick up a new skill or make friends.
Out of all the things that are amazing the internet is the one thing that I would say need to be updated because it is quite slow, probably because so many people use it but maybe work on getting more routers in?
Real alphas go Leeds uni. Paris of the North. The stuff of dreams.
Good uni. Would choose the same again
The campus, facilities, the LUU (union) and life at Leeds are the best, that a university can offer.
Can't rate the clubs and societies since I didn't join any as I didn't know what was going on living so far from the campus. Good campus, great diversity, nice location, good careers service and module + assignment for my course to help with employability.
I love it here - the whole uni has a work hard, play hard attitude which is essential at university.
Good University and Yorkshire is lovely
Very large campus, close to town, nice union and plenty of societies.
Leeds University Union has helped me out so much. Great food, great beer and super great atmosphere at Old Bar
I am so happy at this university
The campus is huge and it is easy to get lost. There is a lot you can be a part of but no one is goiyto force you. It’s more proactive than forced way of teaching, learning or even socialising. Come with an open mind and fresh attitude and you’ll love it!
Started this year, am loving it. Amazing support facilities and campus. Be nice to everyone, get help if u need it, balance your time and you’ll love it.
Good uni in a good city with lots going on.
Eurodoam WiFi is s*** but it’s the same at all unis I dunno much about the careers stuff bc only first year everything else is sound and the union is ace
Internet is on and off around campus, depends where you are. SU is one of the best in the country and many societies available (although some get significantly more funding than others, regardless of individual achievements)
Leeds Uni is such a nice campus, everything is pretty much in one space and takes about 10 mins to walk for edge to edge. Wifi is better on campus and clicks in much faster than at student housing. Student union is good on a friday for fruity and headphone disco event was one of the best nights ive had in leeds. Some really good bars and food places in the union and the refectory food is so good. Loads of clubs and societies most with a give it a go session before you pay membership. Sports socials are fun too.
Leeds is amazing! Definitely choose Leeds, great both academically and socially
I have no regrets moving here for uni
Better than anybody would expect
university of leeds is a very young city, you will never get tired of the clubs and societies in this city
Best 3 years of my life, always support available, plenty of amazing opportunities and career advice.
it's fantastic in terms of the union and events and also modules and support available from staff and library facilities
Great institution with amazing facilities and studnet union. Lots of support where needed. Top quality teaching.
Great university with talented staff. The way the university is organised and deploys it’s self it’s excellent. Only problem is the buildings are old and ugly, eg Roger Stevens is a mosh pit at times and EC stoner looks like a prison
Great University with such a great feel, a campus Uni but right next to Leeds city centre
University experience is great and the campus itself is big, but I think it would use for adding some more things in the union and if help for students were easier to be found.
It’s is a campus of dreams, education of needs, and a lifetime of memories...
Absolutely incredible University, full of opportunities and experiences that will set you for life.
Great support at Leeds uni with excellent teaching staff as well as fanatic societies to get involved in.
Wow so nice and friendly and fun!!!!!
Ehhhhhhhhhhh it's pretty average
The uni is amazing! i'd recommend it completely.
having a fab time so far, student union in particular is great
The students union is really good and so is the range of societies.
Wifi throughout uni is great. Library is amazing. Others are alright but I am not really active with clubs and societies or the Student Union.
Has such a great feel about the place, made me feel at ease from the moment I came. Facilities here are amazing, especially at the Union.
WiFi is Eduroam so is temperamental at times... Campus is big so you'll only know your way to the SU, your lectures, some libraries and the food. But, it's a nice campus with some green spaces and you have the old, redbrick buildings to make you feel like you're not a disappointment to your parents! Join any society and you'll have a great time! Can't recommend that enough! The SU is great! It has a bank, bars, clubs, shop etc Always careers events and the social media pages are always active! You have to just make the effort to go or read them.
I studied in one of LUBS program, and they have bad classrooms (we didn't get classrooms in business school as it supposed to be). Comparing to the money you spend to study there, I expected much better facilities. The good thing is this university has wide range of societies and activities, which can accommodate your passion and hobbies.
Overall, it's a really good uni, there's lots to get involved with if you put yourself out there. There are always careers events happening. The wifi's not bad on Campus but in my halls it's terrible.
ket societys my fave, not an official society but easy to join, just have to be at leeds really, they feed you it like its tap water (ket water) ket
The internet in the campus is powerful! But the one at Sentinel towers is weaker than your phone data.
Not a bad Uni overall, the campus looks nice but the actual facilities are kinda bad. For a graphic design course they don't even have industry standard machines for the most part and you'll struggle to find a place to work besides you're own flat. The internet doesn't work wirelessly in my flat, so defeats the object of even having it. The students union is non existent besides asking people to constantly fill out surveys and organising Otley Runs every other day. Don't think I've heard from the careers service in my entire life and the clubs + societies just look depressing.
Leeds isn't what you expect it to be. Despite it looking great online with promises of it being super social and the 'ideal' university experience, with a mixture of academia and great nightlife, do not be fooled. Despite Leeds looking great, the reality is very different and not as glossy as the pictures would let on. Rather the lectures are poor, the accommodation is incredibly spread out and un-social and the majority of students do not care about studying but rather fill their time with dnb events and drugs. The city is vast and a concrete jungle, so -again - be prepared what you're getting yourself into coming to Leeds.
Wifi is almost as bad as accomidation wifi
Leeds has a lot to offer! Excellent facilties in terms of libraries and sport, some buildings are a bit old but most have modern interiors. The Union is known to be one of the best in the country and there is always events going on and so many societies to choose from.
The university is amazing, it's a shame it's ruined by awful, boring people that try too hard.
