Im general is not the best campus, although professors and teaching is great
The campus is very beautiful. There’re lots of activities running by students union and career centre that make students know more about the university and future jobs.
nice campus and environment. nice libraries and staffs
Beautiful open campus located near city centre but have to climb hills if you live downtown
I love Bristol and UoB. It's sad to lose opportunity of face to face class due to COVID-19.
Very short experience in taught postgraduate experience. But still good in life experience and student care.
It is a city campus university. The infrastructure is good and the teachers are really helping and cooperative.
Great Experience of city blended with University. Happy vibe and lovely atmosphere
Exceptional University which cares for the students and their well-being. Professors seek to help you the best way they can and to provide you with the best academic experience possible.
Bristol uni is great for its reputation but they definitely overwork their students & aren’t racially diverse (especially in terms in staff)
Wonderful university and highly ranked in my particular subject area. The academics are rigorous and there is a notable emphasis on research - traits that make for great employability and possibly prestigious careers. It will be difficult, especially as an international student, but it is worth it.
Our university is so quiet and provide me an amazing study experience. Library is large and bright.
I like the environment in the university and good opportunity to meet new friend and people
UOB is a very nice institution because I meet so many friends here. I like the teachers and the school staff . I love UOB
I was spectig way too more from Uob. But the curricula is highly UK centrist (although the university portraits itself as an International one). Plus the levels of bureaucracy are absolutely absurd (even for straightforward things as a asking for a microphone and sound) and at Uob always there is going to be two problems for one solution...
Perfect experience here learn not only the knowledge but also more important how to be independent
The housekeeping service is really nice and the reception staff are all friendly and patient to deal with problems.
Going to be honest and tell you not to believe a lot of these reviews. They seem to be dubious in their authenticity. Bristol is a lovely city and has some great people, but also some not so great people. It is probably (behind Durham) the poshest university in the country, and the demographics of the people attending reflect that. That said, I have made some really lovely friends, just don't feel the need to conform to the posh gear-head stereotype, it gets old after about three weeks! The real issue is the teaching. My course (Geography) has been interrupted and cancelled throughout my first two years, both trough industrial actions and Coronavirus. Engagement with students is pretty horrendous. I feel that this is masked through the 'self-sufficient' attitude the university tells you to adopt, but in reality I feel this is just a scape goat for them to not really give a **** about your concerns or queries. Lecturers often don't show up, cancel, and will never reply to your emails.
Excellent school. Facility is brand new.
The university provides so many resources to students in many different ways. It pays attention to their well-being, future career, and academic performance, for sure. There are so many study place with computers and printers available. The campus WiFi is quite stable. Since it takes a longer time and more energies to go to campus everyday, The uni also provides bus voucher to those living in farther uni accommodations (e.g. resident village east).
Even though the halls are spread out, the actual uni campus isn'y really like this, everything you need could be found in a fairly small area (e.g. study spaces, shops etc.). The city is a really great place and there's loads of independent businesses around to support. The internet at the uni is really good, never had any issues with that. Certain times of the day can be busier when trying to find study spaces, so it's usually better if you get to uni earlier, but there's loads of places you can try. I didn't have much of an experience with the SU, but there's a society for everyone.
I hope careers service could be running online under the coronavirus situation, for example, online lectures, online mock interviews, etc.
I didn’t join any club. The wifi of UoB is good.
I love going to the uni of bristol. There are so many societies and sporting activities to get involved with. The uni is in a great location and Bristol is such a beautiful place with a good balance between city life and nature. Nightlife is really good with a range of clubs and different music.
I love our campus. I am proud of our school.
An inspiring and lively environment to be in, with lots of like-minded individuals to meet and get to know. You'll always see a friendly face whenever you're on campus. Being located in the heart of the city makes you truly feel integrated, and there's less separation between students and locals.
Pretty Wonderful university except a long ascent to go to school
The best uni ever!! I am doing my masters in accounting and finance. One of the few unis that they have access to bloomberg trading systems. Amazing tutors!! Extremely passionate about their jobs. If I had to do it from the begining, I would have still choose UWE.
I’m really enjoying my time at UoB. I love the campus and feel well looked after by the student union and other services provided to students, such as the PGR hub. I really enjoy lectures with leading professors in my subjects.
Career Service is nice, but I don’t really agree with the strike
World class teaching, with good study spaces, excellent Wifi connectivity. Large green spaces for hanging out with friends, walks, and being around nature. Very international, and supportive of international students. Student Union located outside actual University precinct, could have a better location.
Good uni to study in. Good lecturers
Very well organised, I found my course very useful, social life through clubs is amazing
A really great place to study and a fantastic atmosphere to be a part of.
Has the potential to be such a great uni, but layout and lack of campus is isolating. Also most people who go here are very full of themselves and look down on those not trying to be 'edgy', pretty sickening place. City is brilliant though, although a tad expensive.
Not satisfied with academic aspects, but the uni overall is ok
Well the university is really care about our mental health. They support a lot on career service, which is really helpful
Everything is very nice about Bristol expert I am always hot and breathless from the exertion of climbing uphill.
University of Bristol is perfect
Facilities and professor are perfect. Unfortunately twice university strikes were influenced our study
The university of Bristol is a very beautiful school with advanced facilities and a strong learning atmosphere
The University of Bristol is a nice and friendly campus with multiple libraries and social areas all over the campus!
I love it! Nice supervisor and colleges... It provides a big scholarship to support my PhD study.
ok it could be better for me personally.
One of the best University in the UK
Good uni but can be lonely at times. Student wellbeing and support in first year could be better - the treatment of mental health needs to be examined.
I like the school library and study room best. It is very convenient and has a learning atmosphere.
University of Bristol is amazing with its campus facilities, support center, social activities
UoB is the one of the best university in the world. there are responsible teacher and nice students come from all over the world.
The school Wi-Fi is very excellent. I can use it for every place. The careers service gives us a lot of activities which are useful.
Bristol University for me is the best choice of my life (till now)!
I really like it here, I don't feel stressed and I'm comfortable with staff and lecturers
Bristol was always my dream and here I am! I love every minute of it, amazing facilities and opportunities, the staff are always there to offer help. And the clubs and societies are absolute jokes, some of the stuff they get up to and you can meet such good friends through this!
University of Bristol It offers a wide range of courses. The library provides a lot of materials you may need to engage with and there is a 24/7 internet service.
University of Bristol It offers a wide range of courses. The work we engage with helps you gain a critical way of thinking. The library provides a lot of materials you may need to engage with and there is a 24/7 internet service
Good uni. Can feel impersonal at points.
Amazing facilities and opportunities and wide range of societies and social events.
Large campus relatively close to the city centre.
Brilliant university so much help and support and great location through the city with great night life as well as academic integrity
Great Student Union, and very helpful Careers Service
Amazing university. I am enjoying it here
Need more space for social life and studying-seems to be in construction
Good campus and generally nice location
There is a variety of societies in the University of Bristol, there will be at least one society you are interested in.
Bristol's fine. It's full of Oxbridge rejects and private school kids who wanted to feel cool but it's a fun city and, if you make it past the first term, it's a good uni.
I regret studying at Bristol university, the teaching isn’t great at all, some lecturer are racist with the way they teach, most of my lectures are cancelled/ rescheduled, overall it’s a depressing university.
Great campus, lots of facilities in all fields! There is a great amount of societies, offering anything one could look for. SU is really active and has an important presence. Student life is great, lots of clubs, restaurants, bars, and social areas are available around the place. Careers Service is really helpful and active. Internet is usually very strong and fast, ping is rather low (eduroam provider).
great teacher and great student life
Everything about my university experience so far has exceeded my already high expectations. The campus and the facilities such as the libraries, the study spaces and the lecture theatres are great and actually inspire us to do work and be productive. From what everyone has been telling me, the professional mental health support service is very disappointing so I think this is an area that certainly needs work but overall I have personally felt very supported by my tutors and professors, in terms of them being friendly and approachable. The average student cost of living is also another area that needs to be paid more attention but overall my experience as a first-year is very positive.
Amazing university, lots of help and services offered.
various activities and events that are really inspiring
Teaching and support are pretty weak, a lot of clubs and societies running which you should get involved in.
University of Bristol is a really good university with a very high standard!
Its A really good and safe place to study.
Almost a term in and I still haven't set up eduroam as it's too complicated and I can't figure it out :(
University is great, the hills not so much
Lectures and seminars are amazing here at UoB! With a range of guest speakers who are professionals who are at the top of their field... You have an amazing opportunity to pick these people's brains... Highly recommend applying for UoB!
Amazing uni ! Can’t recommend enough
Fantastic all-round, victoria rooms are everything amusic student could want. Welcoming staff, and great location. Trendy and with the times, made to feel right at home and excited for the experience to come.
Lovely university full of great people. The students Union is probably the biggest let down with its lack of support to societies. The actual students Union building is great The facilities are good at the uni just all a bit old.
The teacher is very bad and they can’t teach gcse maths to a 15 year old
Nice uni but bad value for money and way to many private school snobs...
Loved my time at Bristol University. Great courses, research led, amazing city to explore. The students union has loads to do after a day at University, with student and independent events. Excellent nightlife too!
Good vibes around the uni, Bristol as a city is really good
Decent not much interaction from SU
Bristol is one of the best cities to live in as well as one of the most highly-regarded universities in the country. I feel very privileged to be able to spend 3 years living here and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. There is a perfect balance here, a best-of-all-worlds.
Nice modern libraries and gym facilities
Best uni in the UK you have everything you could ask for!
Great city and a great uni... just wish there weren't as many hills.
Dreadful place. Institutional dishonesty; useless disability support. self-serving staff. Stay away from this place. If you complain, you'll be on the end of institutional lying and bullying. You need to be mentally strong if you have a problem here as nobody will help you.
I don't spend much time at the SU but the Balloon Bar has amazing food and the Anson Rooms have a lot going on. There's a really wide range of socities so you'll definitely find something you're interested in.
There is no society that doesn't charge a fee entry, in terms of performance, I'm not sure why it's so highly ranked, some lecturers have no idea what they speak about, in terms of internet connection, it is one of the best I have ever had.
The city of Bristol is far better than the actual university itself. Some halls are great whilst others are awful, but most are very overpriced. The SU here is very quiet and doesnt seem to do much
not the best experience; expected more from a world class uni
so good, so many admin jobs, love em
Wifi only good in certain areas, in areas such as the Hawthorns it is slow and cuts out randomly
Support lacking and wouldn't recommend for either student experience or teaching.
Bristol is a great uni for the arts and humanities (what I do ) - the extra curricular side is immense - from sci- fi soc to your classic drama societies and a wide array of music societies - there is literally something for everyone to get involved with. my first year I wasn't a massive fan of my accommodation (Churchill hall) but I think its partly the luck of the draw - I just had to find my friends through my subject and extra -curriculars. Bristol is a brilliant place to live with about 40 different things going on at once (at least lol) - just remember YOU CAN'T DO EVERYTHING :)
Bristol is a great uni to go to
A truly inspirational and excellent university! It has opened so many doors for my future development!
