I really liked Froggatt halls at Endcliffe, good sized rooms with many plug sockets and the toilet is a wet room, but is not an issue. However the kitchen is quite small for 10 people, only 1 or 2 people can cook comfortably at the same time.

Q&A
Hi there- Thank you so much for your question.
Buildings such as Froggatt are occupied by different students each year so I'm afraid that's not something we can advise on. Froggatt is one of our most popular blocks located in close proximity to The Edge, including the Edge bar and the Village Store so is at the heart of the Ranmoor / Endcliffe experience!
I hope that this answers your question, if you have any further questions please feel free to contact the Accommodation team by emailing accommodationoffice@sheffield.ac.uk

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Thank you for your review! I’m so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time at Froggatt Apartments and found the rooms spacious and well-equipped. The extra plug sockets and wet room setup certainly add to the convenience of living there! I appreciate your feedback on the kitchen size. While it’s designed to maximize space, we do have a variety of flat layouts, and I understand that some may feel a bit tight. Due to the varying schedules and commitments students have during their time at university, we generally receive positive feedback about our kitchens. Your input is valuable and helps us consider how we can make future improvements. If there’s ever anything more you need or any further feedback you’d like to share, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team at acs-customerservices@sheffield.ac.uk. My expectations of Froggatt have exceeded since I arrived. What I was most impressed about was the speed of maintenance arriving to sort out an issue with our sink, despite it being in the evening. The location is a major plus when living at Froggatt, with it being easily accessible to the edge and the laundry room.
Hello and thank you for your lovely review, we really appreciate it !. I am glad to hear that you like living in Froggatt. It is a great location right in the heart of the Ranmoor/Endcliffe site. We do aim to sort any problems in flats as soon as possible and I am glad the sink issue was resolved quickly. Best wishes, Sharon
Good accomodation and great to be surrounded by other students. Rooms and kitchen are great but location wise could be considered far away from campus. WiFi sometimes unreliable
Thank you for your review! I’m glad to hear that you’ve found Froggatt Apartments to be good accommodation and that being surrounded by fellow students has enhanced your experience. It’s great to know that you’re happy with the rooms and kitchen setup! I understand that the location can feel a bit further from campus, but many residents find that being part of the largest student community in Sheffield, along with access to the Ranmoor & Endcliffe amenities, makes it worthwhile. Regarding the WiFi, I’m sorry to hear it has been unreliable at times. We’re currently working on a WiFi Upgrade Programme to improve the service across all our properties, including Froggatt. In the meantime, if you experience ongoing issues, I encourage you to reach out to our IT Services team, who are always ready to help. Great place to live, lively but not too quiet, Endcliffe village is full of students, so social life is great.

Great halls to live in for first year, close to the edge but not right next to it so there’s less foot traffic about which is nice. The edge itself is amazing, regular karaoke/quiz nights, pool tables, cheap drinks, everything you could want from a local pub! Back to Froggatt, whilst 10 might seem like a lot in a flat, the facilities allow everybody to live comfortably and I don’t feel cramped or that I have to compromise my space too much. En-suite rooms are fab, would definitely recommend!
Thank you for your fantastic review! I’m so pleased to hear that you’re enjoying your time at Froggatt Apartments! It really is the perfect location - close enough to enjoy everything the Edge has to offer, yet peaceful enough for some privacy. It’s great to hear you’re making the most of the karaoke, quiz nights, and other social events at the Edge. I’m also glad that the flat layout is working well for you - I completely understand what you mean about flats of 10, but it’s great to know the space feels comfortable. If there’s ever anything more you need or any further feedback you’d like to share, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team at acs-customerservices@sheffield.ac.uk. Recommed Froggatt if you want a social first year there is always something going on either in your flat or in neighbouring flats. You also have the edge close for when you want to spend some time there. The rooms are great and communal space although seems small fits the 10 people perfectly and gives you a more social atmosphere.
Thank you for your review! I’m really glad to hear that you’re enjoying the social atmosphere at Froggatt Apartments - Froggatt really is the perfect spot for a lively first year! It’s great to know the communal areas are working well for you and your flatmates, and having the Edge close by definitely adds to the experience. Lovely accommodation with everything you need. If there's ever a problem staff resolve it quickly and are always super friendly. Perfect student village close to shops and the uni and city centre are only a relatively short walk away.

If there’s anything else you need or any questions you have, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Service team at acs-customerservices@sheffield.ac.uk. Best wishes, Lucy
The accommodation is modern and in a nice area of Sheffield, although it is a bit far away from the university’s campus. It is fairly close to shops in Broomhill and Ecclesall Road.
Thank you for such a lovely review! Great to hear that you like the local area. Remember if the walk is too much you can always hop on the 120 to make the journey easier, and there are student discounts on bus tickets. If there’s anything else you need or any questions you have, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Service team at acs-customerservices@sheffield.ac.uk. Best wishes, Lucy
Overall very good first year accomodation. Only been here a short while but I would recommend it to others in future.

Spacious room and kitchen. Nice social life and activities organised by mentors. However, too far from centre and you have to walk up a hill to the local Morrisons.
Hello and thank you for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to do it !. I am glad to hear you have enjoyed the Residence Life activities. They do some great ones and the majority are free which is always a bonus !. I am sorry you felt the walk to the city centre was a little far. There is the 120 bus that runs along Fulwood Road as an option as this goes to the city centre, train, bus station and beyond. The local shopping area is Broomhill with a Morrisons, Sainsbury, Teso and much more. There is always the Village Store on campus if you don't fancy the walk though. Best wishes, Sharon
Great accommodation, all maintenance issues resolved promptly. Quite loud at night but thats the trade off for a sociable flat. Nice view over the city and short walk to uni. The pond is nice.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your review, we really appreciate it !. I am glad to hear yoru manintence issues were reolved quickly. It is a lovely area to live in with all the lovely green, open spaces and the pond is nice to sit by on a sunny day !. Best wishes, Sharon
A nice place to live and be closer to people from school and get to meet new people and friends plus it’s a lovely environment my only issue is that it’s kinda far from school and far from big shops where u need to buy things
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review - it really means a lot to us! I’m delighted to hear that you’ve had a great experience in Froggatt and enjoyed the lovely environment and sense of community. I understand that the location might feel a bit far from the university and larger stores. It might be worth checking with the team at The Edge - they might have some local tips that could make things a bit easier for you! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. Best wishes,Danny 🧔🏻
Really, really, really expensive for what it was. Given it was almost double the price of rent in a house, felt a bit mean.
Very sociable like a mini campus but not very modern or big accommodation
My flatmates are lovely, the kitchen however is not big enough for ten people . From what I know all of the rooms have had pretty major faults with them, and they also made the new students do inventory as apposed to doing it during the cleaning and general preparation of the rooms.
best hall so sociable and fun especially for parties
Endcliffe was always going to be s*** quality but at least the atmosphere and the people make up for it. The edge is decent. However orange walls, mardy cleaners and s*** staff as well as my flat being charged £1000 for a chip in a fire door is f****** ridiculous.
Settled amongst trees, grass and ponds, Froggatt is a home from home - beautiful, cosy and friendly.
Loved living here - made such good friends for life
Best place to live! Always lively but can always work.
Could not fault froggat apartments in Endcliffe village, had the best year of my life here!!!!!
Location is really good, need more kitchen space for our flat which consists of 10 people.
the flats are good, and I love the surroundings, but they are a bit out of town and are quite costly
loved living in halls, meet great people and live close to all the people on your course and in clubs
